Chapter 2: Frist Catches

After leaving the house Cody walking through around Route 1 with Kaji his Chamander. The two of them were looking for a good Pokemon to catch. He and Samantha decided to split on up to find Pokemon to catch.

"Kaji let's see what cool Pokemon we can catch," Cody said looking at his partner Charmander.

"Char," Kaji said in agreement.

While walking they suddenly saw a small white pig-looking monkey appeared in a tree eating berries.

"A Mankey!" Cody said as he pulled out his Pokedex.

"Mankey, a Pig Monkey Pokémon of the Fighting-type.Known for its superior footwork, it packs a powerful punch."

"We have to be careful with those punches and kicks," Cody said.

Cody then thought about the best way to start this battle off against Mankey.

"Alright, Kaji!" Cody shouted. "Use growl!"

Kaji growled at the Mankey startling on and causing it to fall out of the tree. Mankey looked at Cody and Kaji with an annoyed look.

"Ember!" Cody ordered. Kaji spits a small flame at Mankey, but it dodged it jumping out of the way before getting way to use Low Kick on Kaji.

"Dodge then use Ember!" Cody called out. Kaji dodged and made another attempt to hit Mankey, and this time he landed the ember. Mankey fell to the ground shaking its head.

"Pokeball go!" Cody grabbed a Pokeball and threw it at the Mankey and watched as it sucked the Mankey inside. The Pokeball then began shaking as Cody was wondering if he was going to capture it or have to try again. However, the Pokeball dinged signifying that he had successfully caught the Mankey.

Immediately Cody and Kaji high five each other happy about their catch. "You were awesome Kaji," He said and picked up Mankey Pokeball. "Let's meet our new friend, shall we?" He asked Kaji and he nodded his head.

"Alright, come on out Mankey." From the Pokeball Mankey materialized and looked around before it saw Cody and Kaji stareing at it.

"Hi to have attacked, you earlier. I hope the two of us can be friends and form a strong team," Cody said kneeling down at eye level. Mankey just continued to stare at him, with a serious expression and wonder if he was about to attack.

However, Mankey soon settled down and cheerfully announced its name without former aggression whatsoever. "I'm glad you don't harbor any hard feelings towards me. My name is Cody and this is Kaji," Cody said holding his hand out to Mankey as he slowly took it and shook back.

"By the way are you a boy?" Cody asked so he could give Mankey a nickname. Mankey shook its head no. "So you're a girl." Mankey nodded. Cody then narrowed his eyes thinking of a female name while wondering how his sister was doing. "I wonder how is Anna doing?"

Meanwhile...

Samantha was walking near a river with Kitsune her Vulpix by her side.

"Kitsune do you know what the Elite Four is?" Samantha asked.

Kitsune looked at her in confusion.

"Vulpix?" Kitsune asked.

"The Elite four are the four strongest trainers in the region. That people have to face in the Champion League if they want a chance to battle the Region champion. My dream is to become a member of the Elite Four at least one of my dreams. My other dream find my sister and bring her home. So let's work hard together and catch lots of Pokemon to make both dreams come true."

"Vulpix," Kitsune answered with a smile.

Just then, there was the sound of something swimming in the water. Samantha turned around towards the lake and saw a tiny little sea horse.

Samatha took out her Pokedex pointing it at the sea horses in the water.

"Horsea, the Dragon Pokemon. If it senses any danger, it will vigorously spray water or a special type of ink from its mouth."

"Hey Kitsune. I think this Horsea will be a great addition to the team. I know that it is a water type, but I believe that you can handle a small sea horse," Samatha stated.

"Vul, Vulpix," Kitsune replied in agreement and stood in a fighting stance.

Horsea noticed this and prepared to defend itself.

"Kitsune, start with Swift!" Samantha commanded.

Kitsune sends golden stars at Horsea who counter with Bubble.

Horsea then shot an Ice Beam at Kitsune.

"Dodge it!" Samantha ordered.

Kitsune quickly dodged the beam of ice.

"Kitsune, use Ember!" Samantha ordered.

Kitsune surprises not only Horsea with its firey attack, but also causing a burn making the Dragon Pokemon grow weak.

"Alright!" Samantha said and took out a Pokeball. "Go Pokeball!" She said throwing the Pokeball at the Horsea.

Horsea got trapped inside the Pokeball, it shook a few times and then stopped.

"We caught ourselves a Horsea!" Samantha smiled grabbing her Pokeball. "Kitsune great job." She said rubbing Kitsune's head.

Kitsune smiled at the praise and head rub.

"Let's go see how Cody doing. Then get my new Horses heal from the burn," Samantha said walking back towards the spot they agreed to meet on up at.

Cody was leaning against a tree where he and Samantha agreed to meet up at. While waiting he was thinking of a good name for his new female Mankey.

After a couple of more minutes of waiting he spotted his sister coming her way. With Kitsune resting in her arms.

"Your back catching anything good?" He asked standing on up.

"Yeah I did I show it to you but first it needs to be healed," She replied.

"Well then once we get back to Viridian City. We make a stop at the Pokemon center," Cody said.

"Sounds like a plan. Then we head to Pewter City," Samantha said as reached her twin brother.

"Right the location of the first Pokemon gym," Cody replied.

"If you don't include the one hack at home, but if I recall correctly that gym leader is hardly around," Samantha stated.

"I don't even know who owns that gym. Yet feel like we should, " Cody said with a thinking expression. "Doesn't matter let's get back to Viridian city."

"Yeah."

Samantha and Cody then began heading back towards Viridian City. To get their Pokemon head before making their way to Pewter City.
