The festival was being cleaned up, but the memories of what happened there are more lasting. Not only did a stranger in a mask attack the kids, or that Agumon and Aramdillomon digivolved to their mega forms, but something has happened to Cassie's Hawkmon. Hawkmon suddenly changed and no one understands what happened.
"Cassie, can you hand me the broom?" A student asked, but Cassie just stood there and stared off into space. She was too baffled over what happened to Hawkmon. "Cassie!" He called as he touched her shoulder. That caused her to snap back to reality, but she still couldn't get her mind over what happened.
"I'm sorry. I need to go." Cassie said as she just ran out of there and ran past a bunch of students. Two of those students were Uria and Natalie, and they both knew what this was about.
"Cassie, wait!" Uria called as they both hurried after her. Cassie kept on running until she made it outside and practically dropped to her knees.
"Cassie!" Natalie called as the girls gathered around her.
"Hawkmon..." Cassie said as she was confused. She didn't even recognized Hawkmon. Something in him snapped and it made no sense to her. To a girl that is brains like Cassie, someone who searches for logic and reason, she couldn't understand any of it. "What's happening to Hawkmon?"
"It will be okay." Natalie said as they did their best to comfort her.
"We'll figure this out. We know this is hard, but we'll figure out what's going on." Uria said. Cassie was really scared of what was happening to Hawkmon and just doesn't know how to handle it. Luckily, she has her friends to help her through this. She had family to help her through it too. As Cassie just cried with her friends comforting her, Tio and Wormmon were around the corner. Tio might have been known as a little troublemaker, but he does care for his sister greatly.

Musuko
Musuko was worried for Cassie as well. He and Veemon rode around on his skateboard and tried to find Hawkmon. They knew Hawkmon still had to have been in Odaiba, but where could he have gone.
"Hawkmon?! Hawkmon?!" Musuko called, but there wasn't any sign of him anywhere.
"Where could he be? What do you think happened to him?" Veemon questioned.
"I wish I knew." Musuko said. Everyone is doing everything they can to find Hawkmon, but no one was having any luck yet.
"Musuko!" William called as he and Lopmon were able to caught up to them.
"No sign of Hawkmon yet." Lopmon said.
"Cassie isn't going to like that." Musuko said. "What got into Hawkmon? I've never seen him act like that before."
"I'm not really sure." William said as he tried piecing this puzzle together. "It's possible that man in the mask gave him some sort of virus. This might have something to do with that other attack. None of this is really making sense. We assumed our enemy was from the Digital World, but it looks like our enemy is actually human. If our enemy is human, how is he getting these powerful digimon to do all of these things?"
"And what does any of this have to do with Hawkmon?" Lopmon questioned.
"I guess we'll have answers if we can find out who that man in the mask was." William said. Now that one of their friends is on line, they can't fail.
...
Susan
"That's all that happened, Dad. I think that's what part of the prophecy meant." Susan said. She finished telling her father about what happened at the school with the man in the mask and Hawkmon.
"Poor Hawkmon and Cassie." Izzy said. "Thanks for telling me this, Susan. I'll tell Tai and the others about this if they don't already know. We'll get to the bottom of this." Susan left things at that as she left his office.
"Do you really think your father can figure this all out, Susan?" Tentomon asked.
"Not alone. That's why I got to do what I can to help him." Susan said. "At least this experience has helped us out figure out part of that prophecy. I just hope we can have the rest of this figured out before anything "permanent" happens."
"Do you mean... Susan, are you really thinking the worst case scenario?" Tentomon asked. She didn't want to admit it, but she's already thinking of the worst.
"Susan! Your friend is here to see you!" Her mother called, but Susan wasn't expecting to see anyone. Susan went over to the front door and was surprised to see Tio and Wormmon there.
"Tio? What are you doing here?" Susan asked.
"I came here hoping that you would have answers for what's going on." Tio said. He sounded serious, and that got Susan's attention since Tio is hardly ever serious. The two of them stepped outside her apartment and hung on the balcony.
"I see... You're worried about your big sister." Susan said. "I guess I shouldn't be that surprised. You might act annoying, but you're not heartless."
"Hey!" Tio said.
"Susa, please help us. Cassie and Hawkmon is going to need us." Wormmon said. "You're one of the smartest people we know, Susan. We're hoping you might know what's going on or what we can do."
"We're way ahead of you." Tentomon said. "Susan already informed her father of what happened and he's looking for answers as well. She already theorized that all of this has something to do with this Horusmon."
"Yeah, and it looks like we're already on the right track to something, such as when Agumon and Armadillomon digivolved to ShineGreymon and Jurassicmon." Susan said.
"What do you mean? How is that on the right track?" Tio said.
"You see, my father was given an email by Mr. Tetsuya." Susan said. "It was something like a prophecy about Horusmon, and I believe what happened yesterday is tied to a part of it that could help us. For power to combat, look inside yourself and go beyond. Push past what weighs you down and open your heart for the greatest possibility. I think that's a reference for a digimon's partner causing them to digivolve to straight to the mega level."
"You think?" Tio said.
"Tyson and Uria were both feeling down, like they hated themselves, but they pushed those insecurities aside." Susan explained. "They opened their hearts to the greatest change: improving and accepting one's self."
"Does that mean... Does that mean we can do the same?! Could Wormmon become a mega?!" Tio said.
"In theory..." Susan said. "That could be what we need when the time comes."
"When the time comes? What does that mean?" Tio questioned. This was the part Susan was hoping to avoid.
"Hawkmon might be a key to this Horusmon. It's possible that Horusmon is even one of Hawkmon's digivovled forms." Susan said. Tio didn't like the sound of that. "If Hawkmon can't control himself, it could be bad for us. Whoever is behind this could be trying to force Hawkmon to digivolve into Horusmon, and Horusmon is a dangerous digimon. We might need the power of warp digivolving if we wish to defend ourselves."
"Are you saying we might have to FIGHT Hawkmon?! This will crush Cassie!" Tio said.
"I'm just saying we have to be ready for the worst possibilities." Susan said. "There's still so much we don't know and we don't know what this enemy's true motives are."
"But what about Cassie and Hawkmon? There's got to be some way we can save him without hurting him." Tio said.
"I'm sure we can. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that." Susan said.
"It won't!" Tio declared. The more he talked like that, the more she couldn't stop herself from chuckling.
"Listen to you." Susan said. "You sound like a different person. You always liked causing mischief and a little mayhem, especially when we were kids. I never knew you could speak with such caring dedication." When Tio thinks about it, he has always been like that. At least as far as his friends might know.
"You think?" Tio said. "That's funny because you're still the same as I see her. Even in kindergarten, you always acted so mature and that you knew it all. You've always been the smartest in our whole class. Even right now... You haven't really changed, Susan."
"I haven't?" Susan said as she wasn't sure that was a good thing. It looks like both of them might be doing a little soul searching.

Hiro
Hiro was in his office and was doing some work on his computer. He was looking over something for it looked like he had something planned. When he heard someone coming at the door, he turned the computer off as Tai and Agumon came in.
"Hiro, we need to talk." Tai said.
"I take it this is about what happened with that Hawkmon." Hiro said.
"It is." Agumon said.
"Hiro, you seem to know what's going on." Tai said. "What has happened to Hawkmon? Where is he now?"
"We're trying to find his location now, but it's not that easy." Hiro said. "Until someone reports something or some sort of ruckus happens, finding a small digimon like that is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. As for what's happening, I can't quite say exactly."
"Can't as in you don't know, or can't as in you won't." Tai said.
"What are you insinuating?" Hiro said as he didn't like how Tai put that. Obviously, Tai is suspicious of Hiro. "Tai, I assure you that I have everything under control. My men are keeping tabs on everything they can. Still, we are only humans. There's only so much we can do."
"But you could do so much more with some digimon help." Agumon said. "All Tai is trying to say is that Hawkmon is the digimon partner to an innocent girl. She'll be crushed if anything happens to him. She's probably already sad about what's going on."
"The bond between a human and their digimon partner is quite a symbiotic one." Hiro said. "Digimon gain the power to digivolve while humans grow stronger. Both sides also grow emotionally from it. It would be tragic if something were to happen to that bond." The way he said that had Tai and Agumon a little more suspicious. It was as if Hiro knows what that's like. "Listen, I have some work to finish. If we find anything, we'll let you know."
"Sure you will." Tai said as he and Agumon showed themselves out. When Hiro believed he was alone, he turned his computer back on and got to work. With him feeling that Tai is suspicious of him, he needs to do something.
"Tai, what's wrong?" Agumon asked as the two of them were on their way out.
"I have a feeling Hiro's not telling us something." Tai said. "I've known Hiro back when we were in college. He seems a little different from before." Tai thought back to those times. He and Hiro studied together, played sports together, and always had some fun together. Hiro even had a big smile on his face almost all the time. That's not the Hiro Tai is seeing now.
"He's your friend. Shouldn't we trust him?" Agumon said.
"I did, but I just know there's something we're not seeing." Tai said.
"People might seem different, but that doesn't mean they're not how you remember." Agumon said. "I know because there's you."
"Me? What are you talking about?" Tai questioned.
"You seem a lot different than from when we first met all those years ago." Agumon said. "However, there are still times you're just like how I remember." Tai smiled from when Agumon said that. They both have a come a long way since they first met all those years ago.
"Yeah... A lot seems different. Things seemed a lot easier back then, but it gets harder as you grow." Tai said. Reminiscing about that past is having Tai see how far he's really come. He grew and became the person he is today because he met Agumon and the other digimon. Despite all that, he isn't convinced that's the same with Hiro. "I might have changed for the better, but I'm not too sure Hiro has." Tai knows something is going on with Hiro, but until he knows more, there isn't much he can do. He can only hope that he can figure it out before it's too late, and that it doesn't hurt those poor kids.. This might not be Tai's adventure anymore, but that doesn't mean he can't do what he can to help them in this fight.
