The group of elves suddenly caught up with us and I had no idea how.
"Crap..."
"It's no use running away. We'll keep hunting you down as long as you live." Said the leader elf.
"Well. If you're gonna keep on bothering us, I'll just have to defeat you right here and right now."
"Huh? Wait, Colin!" Celia shouted.
"What is it Celia?"
"You shouldn't fight against them, you'll get hurt! Those elves in particular were among the best warriors in the kingdom!"
The leader elf smirked.
"That's right kid, hahaha! You might as well surrender while you still can."
"Oh? So you guys are the best of the best in that elven forest huh? Well this is exciting."
The leader elf began to look confused.
"What? Exciting? Stop fooling around kid if you value your life!"
As he kept on threatening, I began to draw my sword ready for battle.
"Tsk- kill him!" The leader elf commanded as his henchmen started coming at me with weapons and magic.
I began to take a stance in which I could counter with my sword and my fists to take out the small fries. One by one, I took out most of the elves who were closest to me and drew my sword to take out the ones casting magic.
As I was about the land the final blow, the leader elf pounced from a distance and clashed his spear with my sword.
"I have to admit you're a little decent." I mocked the leader elf.
The leader elf looked aggrevated.
"I swear I'll kill you!" He responded as he put more strength into pushing me back with his spear.
I began to resist against his spear in which caught the leader elf off guard.
"What?"
I started to push the leader elf back even further. When the time was right, I deflected his spear upwards as I stuck his legs with my sword.
"AHH! Damn you kid!"
Before he could finish I took cover as the mages unleashed their spells.
The spells destroyed most of the trees in the blast range.
"Did that do it?" Said the injured elf.
Before the smoke cleared, I surprised attacked the mages and took them all out at once.
"I-impossible!"
"Now's our chance Celia! Let's go!"
Before she could react, I grabbed onto her arm and dragged her to the other side of the forest.
"C-C-Colin! Can you slow down!? My legs can barely keep up!" Celia whined.
"Ah- I'm sorry." I stopped and looked back as I seen a shooken up Celia
"Geez-"
"Hang on a sec." I said as I picked up Celia princess style. I was trying to hide the embarrassment but I had no other choice.
"C-Colin? What are you-?". She blushed
"Just hang on tight..."
As Celia wrapped her arms around my neck, I used Adrenaline to boost my speed to get out of the forest as quickly as possible.
"Once we're out of this forest, we're gonna meet up with a friend of mine, alright?"
Celia nodded still trying to hide her embarrassment.
I began to see light of an exit. I knew we were almost there.
I used my last of my Adreneline to push out of the forest.
But before I know it I crashed into something. Although it barely budged and felt arms grabbing onto me.
"Heh slow down Colin, you could've knocked me over." Havu giggled as she held me close to her chest.
"Yeah right- you barely moved at all."
"Oh? Who's the girl Colin? And why are you carrying her princess style? You don't even do that to us." She teased as I slowly put Celia down.
"Y-yeah its a long story..."
After some time of telling Havu what happened, we began to walk to back home.
I hadn't realized how long we took on our assignment because the sun was setting.
"So really have no where to go Celia huh."
Celia sadly nodded her head.
"Ah I see. I guess we'll take you in. That is if our goddess approves of course."
"A-Are you sure about that? I don't want to be a burden to your familia..."
"Don't worry about it. Besides Colin over here is the handful one."
"Shut up." I responded.
After a few, we managed to come back to goddess's place. We introduced Celia to goddess.
"Nice to meet you Celia. My name is Athena. I heard from Colin and Havu that you currently don't have a home or place to stay at."
"Thats right..."
"Well then... Celia, do you want to join my familia?"
"Huh- you're going to let me join your familia just like that? You aren't going to question me?"
"Well under normal circumstances I would. But two of my most troublesome children brought you to me so I know I can trust you."
"T-Thank you, goddess!" Celia thanked as she began to tear up a little.
"Alright then its settled!"
Afterwards, goddess began to give Celia her blessing. It sort of reminded me when I first joined the familia.
"Well then Celia, welcome to my Familia."
"Thank you, goddess!"
After the blessing, goddess offered her the bath and a change of clothes.
"So is it really true Celia was once a princess of an elven forest?" Athena asked.
"That's right. She's been on the run for who knows how long ever since then..." I explained.
"Well those fiendish elves did say they would stop at nothing till they end her life... it wouldn't be surprising if they did something bold like raiding our home." Athena said.
"I just hope they aren't that stupid..." I responded.
"Even if they do, I doubt they'll pose much of a threat. Colin had no trouble taking care of them."
"Well most of them were lower leveled, but who knows if they have stronger comrades with them."
"Well let's just not think of it for today. You should get some rest Colin. You were busy for most of the day."
"Will do goddess." I said.
I headed back to my room and collapsed on my bed. I hadn't realized how exhausted I was. Maybe it was because there were a lot of things going on at once.
Just as I was about to drift to sleep, I heard someone come in my room.
"Oh, I'm sorry, we're you about to rest?" Celia said.
"Yeah but it's fine... what do you want?"
"I just wanted to let you know thank you for today, and thank you for helping me."
"Don't worry about it. It just gave me a good excuse to challenge someone other than my Familia members."
"Oh. Well I still want to thank you regardless. I'm indebted to you." Celia said as she held my hand.
"Like I said don't sweat it. It was nothing."
Aya came peeking through my door.
"Colinnnn. You never hold my hand like that, and yet you're holding hands with the new girl. You sly dog."
"Shut it Aya." I said trying to not show my embarrassment.
"Anyways its nice to meet you Celia, I'm Aya. I think we'll get along well. Oh and don't flirt to much with Colin, that's kind of my thing."
"Um..." Celia didn't know what to say to that introduction.
"Its nice to meet you too... Aya."
"Well aren't you the quiet thing. So cute!"
Aya hugged Celia viciously like she would always do to me. I hope this ends well.
