Marineford Days Pt.2
Luffy arrived stone-faced to the marine island. He vaguely remembers his jiji talking about the fleet admiral and his goat but nothing important. It didn't matter if this old man took him in as a marine or not, he was gonna find someone here to train him regardless of any decision. But gramps wanted to do things by the book, surprisingly, so they were walking towards the main building, a massive palace in the center of the island that awed even him.
As they walked, jiji munched on crackers and nodded to everyone who greeted him, which meant Lu getting sprayed with spit and crackers since he was being carried by him and gramps had a booming voice. Luffy quickly hopped off and ran into the distance while Garp became distracted by a few Vice-Admirals gesturing frantically towards him.
Luffy ran for several minutes, weaving through the streets of the town. As he was running away, Luffy bumped into an older boy with curly hair and a pigeon on his shoulder.
"Oi, watch where you are going! Count yourself lucky I'm in a relatively good mood, kid," sneered the older boy.
Luffy had gradually become a bit teary-eyed as he ran, still grieving the death of Makino but quickly became incensed when he heard the boy's tone.
"Excuse you! You don't have to be rude but guess what? I'm in a relatively bad mood, gaki" sneered Luffy, pushing the taller male back.
The boy reared back and righted himself, almost hitting Lu with a right hook. Luffy weaved away and responded with a side kick. The other boy grabbed his leg and nearly broke it- had he not gone for the pigeon but that seemed like the wrong move because the older kid seemed to become angrier.
The taller male sent a left hook that had Luffy flying towards a wall. Bits of concrete crumbled off as Luffy groaned and spit out a couple teeth while righting himself.
"Thanks for waking me up," Luffy continued, wiping blood off his mouth.
"Don't you ever attack Hattori again you weakling," the older boy intoned.
"Hattori, huh. That's your bird's name? Duly noted, but I don't hit animals unless they attack me first, it was just a feint. But you just threw me into a wall and knocked out several of my teeth. So now I gotta get serious," Luffy said, smirking darkly.
"Oh yeah. What's a little boy like you gonna do to me? Listen here boy, you must be new. My name is Rob Lucci and weaklings like you have no business stepping foot on such revered ground. I will end your existence today in the name of Justice," the boy proclaimed.
"Shishishi. Justice, huh? That's why I'm here. To discover the meaning of my own Justice. You'll be my first test," Luffy said, smiling savagely. Lucci mirrored his smile, the pressure of the air becoming heavier.
