Kimberly

My eyes widened as I saw the tube begin to glow. The figure that appeared was that of a teenage girl. If I didn't know any better, I would have sworn I was looking at a younger version of myself in there. But as she gazed around the room and the light shone brighter, I realized I was actually looking at the teenage version of my own daughter. Her hair was long, the same shade of dark brown as Tommy's. She had similar facial features as me but I could see the same dimples on her face as Tommy's and the way her eyes scanned the room reminded me of him as well. Confusion set in as I was trying to figure out how it had been possible. What had Drakkon done to her? How was she ten years older now than she had been when I had seen her just a week ago? What would even be the purpose of aging her in such a way?

"Who is that?" I heard Tommy ask next to me. I couldn't form the words to answer him though as Drakkon let out a dark and deep laugh. The bastard was enjoying this, seeing our daughter toyed in front of us like bait on a hook. It had been a trap for all of us I realized. He wasn't even sure if we were going to show up but he had a plan just in case.

"What's the matter, Tommy? Having trouble recognizing your own daughter?" He asked. Silverback roared loudly as he sent the rest of our team flying passed me into the wall. They all looked injured as they landed on the ground in almost a pile. Reaching up, I undid the clasps on my helmet and tossed it to the side. It bounced off the ground with a loud thud noise before spinning to a stop near Trini, William, and the other Kimberly. I ran forward, skirting right around Drakkon and Silverback as I headed right for Abby in the tube. Silverback attempted to grab me but I moved too quickly for him too.

"Kim! Wait!" I heard Tommy call behind me but I couldn't. I needed to get to her to make sure she was safe. As I neared the tube, Abby's eyes landed on me.

"Mom?" She whispered, looking down at me. I nodded, feeling tears fill my eyes.

"Abby! Are you alright? Did he hurt you?" I asked, pressing my hands against the glass of the tube. Her expression went from one of confusion to one of anger as she glared down at me. Around her, an energy began to form. It was filled with pink and green static that filled the air was a tense electricity almost.

"Why did you come here? Why now? After all this time?" She asked.

"Abby, I don't know what Drakkon's done to you but something he's done has made you age rapidly. It's only been a few days since that day." I explained.

"You mean since you left Tommy and me behind?" She asked, lowering herself to the ground. The energy glowed brighter now. Did he give her powers? Was he controlling her somehow with a spell like the one Rita had used on both Tommys?

"I'm sorry I didn't come back to you. I had no other choice. That's why I'm here now. I came to save you and Tommy." I said. "What did Drakkon do to you? Did he put you under a spell?" There was a loud cracking sound above us and a large piece of the ceiling fell. A piece of it broke off and hit the tube Abby was it, shattering the glass. This caused it to fall as Golder appeared from the opening. He flew down to join the group behind us.

"There's no spell." She called back. Now with the opening, the power she was giving off was much greater. It made the hair on the back of my neck stick up. "These are the powers I was born with. The ones you wouldn't let me have. Lord Drakkon told me."

"I had no idea you had powers, honey," I said, pulling myself up on the ledge. I pushed in on the glass until there was a hole big enough for me to step through so I was standing in front of her. "He must have been hiding this from me. That's what Finster was trying to warn me about when you were younger."

"You killed Finster. You and the rest of the Rangers." She said, glowering at me. The energy was making it harder to breathe but I didn't move to leave. The fighting began out in the control room again, Tommy and Drakkon going head to head while Goldar and Silverback fought.

"No. Drakkon killed him because he was helping us try to save you. Abby, I know he had been telling you things but I promise you it's not true. I didn't leave you behind. I had to find help and we were working to save you. He's been turning you against us because of your powers. That's probably why he's aged you so much. Your powers are probably stronger now that you are older."

"Stop it! You're just making excuses for why you chose Tommy over me!" She screamed. As she did, it caused a huge wave of energy to be released. It went throughout the Command Center, knocking everyone to their feet. I pulled myself back up, taking a step towards you. Zack, Jason, and Billy were fighting with the sentry soldiers near the tube now, all of them struggling to get to their feet.

"I would never choose anyone over you. I promise. I didn't choose to leave that day. I was dragged out because they were trying to save me. I've been fighting to come back to you ever since. Your father too. Drakkon has been filling your heads with lies to use you against us. Abby, listen to me. Why do you think little Tommy hasn't aged as much as you? Or why Drakkon brought you here to face us?"

"STOP LYING!" She yelled. Again, another wave of energy came out and sent everyone to the floor. Every time she felt some kind of emotion, her powers seemed to overload. Zack turned to me as we both stood up, him grabbing his Power Axe that had been tossed from his hands when we all went flying.

"How about not making her do that, Kim?" He asked as one of the soldiers swung a battle-ax towards his head. He ducked, rolling out of the way.

"Abby, please. Just listen to me." I said, turning back to her. "I know you feel abandoned. I'm sorry. I can't change what happened. But I am here now and I want to make sure nothing happens to you because of Drakkon."

"He was the one who took care of me. He made sure I was safe. He tucked me in a night when you weren't there. He took care of me when you just left." She said, looking offended at the words I had said. He had succeeded in brainwashing her against me. The way she looked at me was of disgust, like I was the last thing on this Earth she even wanted to encounter let alone admit that I was her mother.

"I know this is confusing. Drakkon is using you, Abby. He has probably been planning something like this since you were a little girl. That's why he was taking care of you. He wanted you to trust him so that you would turn on your Dad and me." Her eyes narrowed at Tommy's name.

"He's not my father. Lord Drakkon is the only father I will ever need." This was worse than I thought. Stepping over, I grabbed her shoulders. She tried to turn away from me but I held her in place.

"Look around the room, Abby. He stabbed that woman over there trying to kill her. Do you know who she is?" I asked. She shook her head. "That's the version of me from Drakkon's world. They are from another dimension. Drakkon took over and has been hurting people since then. He attacked our world five years ago, hoping to take over. He's killed thousands of people, including people he considered his friends at one point. He sent Goldar's brother to kill that version of me and myself. Drakkon doesn't care what happens to you or any of us. All he cares about is getting what he wants. I promise you with everything in me that I am not lying to you. I am sorry for what I did. I never should have left you behind. But Drakken isn't going to stop until he kills everyone here, including Little Tommy." She hesitated, looking around the room. Drakkon and Tommy were still fighting, their blades crashing against each other. Goldar and Silverback were exchanging blows back and forth with their swords.

"Where is Tommy?" She questioned.

"Trini took him back to the Command Center to keep him safe. If you come with me, I can take you there to see him." I saw that look of confusion and inner conflict on her face. Reaching up, I cupped her cheeks in my palms.

"Abby, don't listen to her," Drakkon called out towards us as he sent Tommy flying backward. "Your mother left you behind. She didn't care about you while you were growing up. Don't forget that she missed most of your life chasing after a man." Abby shook her head, closing her eyes. The light around her continued to grow brighter and the energy made everything feel charged around her.

"He's lying," I said, taking her hands in mine.

"Get off of me!" Abby screamed, a bright pink blast of energy coming from her hands. It knocked me back about five feet and off of the platform we were on, sending me through the remaining glass that had been surrounding us.

"Kimberly!" I heard Jason call out as I flew back. I managed to land partially on my feet after slamming into the back of the Viewing Globe. I turned back to her, seeing that she was radiating energy at a faster pace now. Her body seemed to pulsate as she stood there. I could see now the little girl I hidden, the fear in her eyes as she looked down at me. The heat from her energy and Drakkon's energy was intense, making it feel like a broiler on either side of the room. Sweat was forming on my brow as I looked at her. I needed to make her understand. I needed her to see what the truth really was. I shouldn't have left her behind but Drakkon had turned her against me using his powers of manipulation

"Abby, please," I said softly, holding my hands up. "You have to listen to me."

"You LEFT me! You left us. I waited for you. I did exactly what you told me to do and you still just left us. Abandoned us." She exclaimed.

"You're right," I said, nodding. "I did. I shouldn't have done that. You have every right to be upset with me and it's okay that you're upset. I would be too."

"Drakkon told me everything. How the Rangers are evil and trying to take over our world. How they are trying to take our home from us. Youjounined them and forgot all about me. I've been alone without you all these years." Tears brimmed her eyes. "Why didn't you come back for me?"

"I am here now," I said, tears streaming down my own face. "I made a mistake but I swear to you that I will never leave you again. Drakkon is manipulating you, Abby. There's no way I would have left you for all that time without trying to save you. He's accelerated your age somehow. Did he have you somewhere, away from other people?"

"That's not possible." She said, shaking her head. I could tell from the look in her eyes that confusion was beginning to change to a slow realization. I stepped forward, pulling myself back up on the platform. There were shards of broken glass everywhere and I was careful not to cut myself on any as I stepped toward her.

"I love you more than anything. That's why I'm here now. That's why we're all here now." I whispered. I grabbed her hands, holding them to my chest.

"You need to go." She said, energy lighting up her eyes now. Swirls of pink and green mixed with white. "I can't control it for long."

"I'm not leaving you again," I said, holding her hands tighter. "Your Dad and I came here to save you and that's what we're going to do."

"What?" She whispered. I nodded, letting go of one of her hands, and pointed to where Tommy and Drakkon were fighting.

"That's him right there. He came with me. We came to save you and Tommy. We came to bring you home. Come home with me, honey."

"Home…" She whispered, her voice cracking as her lips trembled. Around us, her energy began to decrease as her anger subsided. Tears slipped down her cheeks as she gazed from Tommy to me. "Mommy." She cried, engulfing me in a tight hug. I wrapped my arms around her, holding her against me. I cried, our sobs matching as I felt the little girl in my arms that wasn't little anymore. I had dreamt of this day since I had left her, waiting for us to be together again. And now, it had come true. "I don't know what's happening to me." She whispered in my ear. The energy around her grew again as she let out a little sob.

"We are going to figure it out, okay? Did Drakkon teach you anything about your powers?" She nodded.

"He taught me how to do some things but not much. I can't control them very well."

"Everything is going to be okay. I need you to try and control them, okay?"

"I don't know what to do though." I didn't have the answers either. I had never had powers like this before.

"Remember when you were a little girl and you used to be afraid of the monsters under your bed?" I asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "You would be up all night, saying something is going to grab you if you closed your eyes. Do you remember that?"

"Yeah." She said, nodding quickly.

"What did I tell you to do then?"

"That I had to remember they weren't real and that I had to control my fear." She answered.

"Exactly. You have to do the same thing now. I know it's scary and you don't know what to do. But deep down, you know how to do this. I believe in you. Your father believes in you. We all do."

"Okay." She said, taking a deep breath. She closed her eyes, gripping my hands. I could feel warmth beginning to fill hers as they glowed a pink color. Sweat formed on her brow though and I saw that she was exerting a great deal of anger.

"Abby?" I asked, concerned. She opened her eyes, her breathing labored.

"I can't. It's fighting to come out of me. It's like it's trying to rip itself out of my body. I can't control it anymore."

"You just need to hold on a little longer. I am going to get you out of here." I said. "I can take you to see Zordon. He will know how to fix this."

"No. You need to leave. Get everyone out before something bad happens. I can destroy Drakkon with me." Abby said. I shook my head. The energy around her was reaching new heights, it changing into a white color. It was beginning to slowly engulf the whole room.

"Absolutely not. We will find another way. I don't care what it takes or how we do it."

"There is no other way, Mom! My body can't hold the powers in it anymore. It will explode, wiping out anything here in its path. That way, I can wipe Drakkon right out of existence and you all with be safe."

"Then I am staying with you," I said. "I told you I wasn't leaving you again and I meant it."

"You can't. Please, Mom. You need to go." She pleaded. "It'll be okay."

"Jason!" I called, turning to look at him. He had just pinned down the soldier he was fighting, disarming him. He turned his attention toward me. "Get everyone out of here. The place is going to go."

"What about you?" He called.

"I'm staying," I replied. Jason hesitated a moment, looking over in the direction of Tommy. He and Drakkon were doing their best to get the upper hand, each swinging their blades towards one another. Jason turned back to me, nodding. He grabbed Billy's arm, getting his attention. Zack followed suit, leaving the soldiers they had managed to overtake on the ground. They ran towards William, Trini, and Kimberly and began helping them get her situated to move.

"Mom, please," Abby said. I turned my sights back to her.

"I made a promise that I wasn't going to leave you again. I am going to keep that promise." I gave her a smile. "There's no point in me living if I don't get to be your mom anymore." I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her tightly. She clung to me, crying loudly. With each cry, the amount of energy she gave off grew. I closed my eyes as a bright light filled the entire room.
