"I can't believe it! You danced with him that much? I don't know why I had to wait to hear it from someone else." Angelina whispered to me during transfiguration.

I glared at her, "We had both had a lot to drink over the course of the night, and he had to babysit me. I knew if I told you that you would make a big deal out of it."

"Were either of you drunk?" She asked in confusion.

"No, maybe just a little tipsy. I'm telling you, he was just trying to save me from Kevin's friends." I sighed. I knew I should have told her everything about that night, and I couldn't deny stuff that Alicia was telling her. She's probably so mad right now. It was true that I laid my head on his chest and danced with him more than anyone else... but it didn't mean anything!

"Okay class everyone needs to read up on the theory behind this change. I'll see you all on Friday, and I hope to have more success among my students. Now that you are in NEWT classes, I am expecting more from you." The class begins to pack up and exit the room. I could tell Angelina was annoyed with me, when she hurried out of the classroom and off to lunch without me. I sigh and put my books in my bag. Maybe I would stop by the library and see if that book I need for the my arithmancy essay is there.

I turned down the corridor towards the shortcut to the library, but paused when I heard a noise behind me. I looked behind me, but saw nothing. Truthfully, I love Hogwarts, but at times it can be downright creepy. I hurry down and turn another corner, but as I near the library a hand grabs me from behind. I'm yanked backwards by a bruising grasp, and look up in shock. Of course I come face to face with a smirking Flint. I glare at him and attempt to take a step back. He raises he eyebrow and pushes me up against the wall.

"Get off!" I say firmly and try to get away again.

"Where you going sweetheart?" He starts to grin, "You know Bell, after this game I expect you to come and give me a victory kiss."

I gasp and glare at him. I turn my face away to look down the corridor trying to ignore him. No one is coming, but I know struggling will just make him angry.

"I know I will get one, or should I steal one now. Just in case you're too shy to give it later." He leans forwards.

I shove him away with my free arm, but he grabs my left wrist more tightly. I wince, and realize it is going to bruise. "We will meet on the pitch, and the game will decide the winner." I try to sound diplomatic, even though I want to punch him in the face.

"If you win, I will-" He begins.

I cut him off, "Don't finish that threat. I will meet you on the field, and expect you to leave me alone till then." at that moment I brought my knee up with as much force as I could. He fell like a sack of potatoes, and I hurried away before he could even think of standing. hmph, serves him right. What did he think? I was some damsel in distress that wouldn't stand up for myself? psh, think again!

...

After a long day of classes and then practice, I was curled up on a comfy couch reading my transfiguration textbook. I was far away from the fire, and the common room was nearly empty due to the late hour with only a few 5th and 7th years left studying. I yawned and turned the page as someone sat next to me.

"Hey Kates, Whatcha reading?" Oliver asked with a lopsided smile.

I smile and hold up my book, so he can see the cover. "You might not recognize it, because it doesn't have qudditich in the title."

He glances at it, and then frowns as he looks at my arm. He looks are me confused, "Did you get that at practice?"

I have no idea what he's talking about until I look down at my forearm and see Flint's hand shape distinctly bruised onto my arm. I glance at Oliver and hide my arm behind my book. "Oh it was probably just at practice-"

He looks at my face with a serious expression, "It almost looked like a-" His eyes round, and then he firmly but gently takes my arm and moves it into direct light. He stares at it for a whole minute and then looks up at me. I shrink back from his glare, thinking he was mad at me, "Oliver?" I ask tentatively.

He looks towards the fire, and then back at my arm. When he finally speaks his voice is just above a whisper and dead serious, "Who did that to you Kates?"

"I'm not sure what you mean. Practice can be physical, you're always telling me to be more aggressive with the quaffle," I try to smile as he turns to look at me again with a serious look.

"I need you to tell me Kates. Was it someone trying to intimidate you before the game, or a guy trying to-" he looks away and took a deep breath.

I sigh, knowing there's no avoiding it. I don't want him running to Kevin making up something worse than what happened, "I just had a little run in with Flint, but I took care of it."

He whips his head back towards me and practically jumps off the couch, "FLINT!? FLINT DID THAT TO YOU?!" He stares at my arm as his breathing rate increases. I subtly move the book to block his view, but I can tell he's still thinking about it.

"He was just-" I begin to try and calm him down, but I'm interrupted by Oliver talking to himself. "I need to get a type of security for all the players, especially Kates. Flint has always had a fascination with her. If he thinks for one minute that I'm going to sit back and let him..." He begins to walk away towards the entrance to the common room. He turns back with a somber expression, "Don't worry, I will take care of this."

"Oliver wait! There's nothing to take care of! What are you taking care of?" I grasp onto his hand and pull him back into the common room.

The fat lady makes a noise of annoyance, "Are you in or out? I don't have all night."

I give Oliver a pleading look and tighten my grip on his hand, "Please Oliver, if Snape catches you he will give you detention for during the game!"

He looks down at me and smiles, "I won't get caught."

I watch as he walks into the dark hallway with purposeful strides. I can't help but feel anxious and helpless. I can't chase after him, because that will draw attention to him and we could both get into trouble. I walk back to the couch, and try to concentrate on my studying again. After a half hour on the same page and Oliver still not back, I decided to head up to bed to attempt to sleep. I do have to work in the hospital wing in the morning, so I should at least try.

...

I glance up from my potion, and am surprised to see Madam Pomphrey smiling, "Hey Katie do you want to help the latest student? It's all stuff I have taught you, and will have no trouble handling it. I need to get some paperwork done."

I nod, and hurry back out to the main room. Her office was getting a little stuffy anyways. I still love coming to work with her on the weekends. It makes me excited for the future. I scan to see which bed the new person is in, they must just have minor bumps and bruises. I see the closest bed to the door has a guy sitting with his back to me. I take my wand out, and hurry over there, "Hey there, Madam Pomphrey said that you need-" I look in shock at Oliver. His lip is bleeding profusely, and a black eye is forming under his left eye. "Oliver what happened?! Are you alright?" I hurry towards him and mumble a spell to stop his lip from bleeding. It stops, and I clean up his face. "Does anywhere else hurt?"

"Nothing serious. I should have known you would be here." He mumbles.

"Well tell me the not so serious injuries," I snap as I try to lessen the bruising around his eye.

He smiles, and the bleeding starts again from his lip, "Just my ribs, but I know nothing's broken."

I re-heal his lip, and go back to working on his eye. I can't get it to lighten anymore than I had the first time. It is definitely not as dark, but I could still see it. "So tell me what happened."

He mumbles something, and I give him a glare. He shrugs, "I just ran into Flint, and told him to leave you alone."

"Mmmm Hmmmm, so where does the bloody lip and black eye come in to that story?"

"Well he made the mistake of telling me what he demanded from you," he said angrily. I pause and look at him cautiously, "The only reason he got two hits in was because I was too mad to see straight. You should have seen him, and his quidditch captain office. I wish you would have told me."

I sigh, "I didn't want you to get mad." He mumbled something I couldn't hear as I continue to work, "what did you say about his office?"

He shakes his head, refusing to answer. I can tell he's brooding about what Flint demanded of me. "Hmm I just can't get this bruise to go away" I thought aloud trying to get him to stop thinking about Flint.

He smirked up at me, "My mom always kissed away my bruises when I was little and she couldn't fade them."

I laugh, "Is that a challenge?! I've never tried, but I assume I can. My mom could too." I pause, and then lean forward to see if I have the same power as the pureblood woman of my family for generations. I have no idea who discovered this random power, but pureblood witches could kiss a bruise to make it go away. No one has been able to explain the magical properties, but my Grandmum says it's from when practicing spells was dangerous. If a young person did accidental magic, their mom could kiss away physical signs while in public. No wand needed to hide. As I leaned in and kissed his bottom eyelid, I saw the bruise fade right before my eyes. "Wow.." I whispered.

Oliver looked at me with the close proximity and cleared his throat, "I hope you don't do this with all your patients, or I might be getting in more fights when they try and come after you later."

I roll my eyes and take a step back, "Oh Please Oliver, just don't tell Kevin about Flint. Now go invent some more qudditich plays, or whatever else you do on Saturday."

...

Katie rolled on her side and sighed. Waking up in the morning was so difficult when your bed is so warm, and it had been difficult falling asleep the night before. Opening her eyes would mean she had to get up and start getting ready for the match. Sleeping a little longer wouldn't hurt anything. Ang would make sure she was up with more than enough time before the game. She relaxed and began to fall asleep, but just as she was about to lose consciousness she felt a strong arm wrap around her middle and pull her up against a strong chest.

Her eyes popped open, and she didn't know what to do. She didn't want to wake this person up because she had no idea who it was. Whoever it was, was still breathing deeply and was clearly fast asleep. Katie slowly sat up and looked behind her to see Oliver fast asleep. She began to relax because it wasn't some random person, until she realized Oliver was ON HER BED and had no idea how he got there.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw Angelina sit up and stretch. She noticed Katie as well and smiled. She looked about ready to say something until she saw how panicked Katie was. Ang gave her a confused look and then looked on in shock as Katie pointed down to the sleeping male next to her.

Angelina was across the room in 2 seconds demanding answers in a quiet whisper, "Who is that? And why is he in your bed?!"

Katie shrugged, "I have no idea how Oliver got in my bed." She looked around the room and noticed the broom at the end of the bed.

Angelina noticed at the same time and gasped. The noise started Oliver, but Katie's fast reaction was to lay back down next to him and pretend to be asleep. She admitted to herself that she was a chicken, but the alternative of talking with Oliver right now was unbearable.

Oliver snuggled her closer, smelled her hair, and sighed. Katie thought maybe he was about to go back to sleep and looked up at Angelina and put her lips to her mouth telling her to be quiet. Maybe she could get out of bed and leave before Oliver woke up.

Angelina narrowed her eyes and smirked. Katie knew she was about to do something she wouldn't like and closed her eyes again pretending to be asleep. ""WOOD!" Angelina whispered loudly and punched his shoulder. "WOOD!"

Oliver groaned and began to sit up. Suddenly he stilled, "Angelina? What the-? Why are you in my room? Bloody Hell!"

He shot out of bed and was putting on his shoes as Angelina questioned him. Katie laid still pretending to be asleep.

"Why were you in Katie's bed Oliver?!" Angelina demanded for the third time.

"I was- Last night- I just thought- I've been having trouble sleeping lately. Nervous for the match and such. Well last night around three I knew I had to get some rest before the game and it wasn't working. Coming here was the only thing that calmed me out of the panic I was in. I never thought I would actually fall asleep!" Oliver whispered quietly. I could barely hear him. Why would coming here calm him? Maybe because I'm like his sister ...great.

"Does Katie know you're here?!" Angelina sounded annoyed. I was so thankful to her to be playing along that I was asleep.

"Uh- no.. Would you not tell her? I just- please?" Oliver sounded worried.

"I don't know..." Angelina said in a regular voice, and I decided I needed to wake up.

I sighed and stretched. "Mmmmmmm. I'm up Ang. Please don't pull my covers off today." I opened my eyes and pretended to be shocked. "Oliver! What are you doing here? Are we late?!"

He glanced at Ang, and smiled awkwardly at me, "Just making my rounds to make sure everyone it up.""

"Oh," was all I said with an evil glare at Angelina to stay quiet as Oliver turned to leave. "Well we promise to start our mental prep here soon Ollie.

He turned and smiled at me and hurried down the stairs. "See you both at breakfast."

As soon as the door closes I look at Ang, "What just happened?!" She smirks and turns to get ready. "What?! You love to make me discuss Oliver all of the time, but now you have nothing to say?"

She shrugs, "Maybe we should start our mental prep for the game like you told Ollie."

"ARGGGGG" I yell as I take my clothes into the bathroom to get ready. I'm going to remember this next time she wants to talk about Oliver...

...

Honestly the whole morning was a blur. I remember breakfast, and Oliver pestering us all to eat. I remember him trying to say a pep talk, and not really getting any words out. I remembered bits and pieces of the game, but I was so focused on being ready for the next move I didn't have time to focus on the now. I will never forget the feeling of absolute happiness as I realized Harry caught the snitch.

"GRYFFINDOR WINSSS! GRYFFINNNDOR WINS!"

I hear the roar of the crowd running onto the field as I land and run towards my team. We are in a group hug as the masses of red surround us with congratulations. I'm hugging and crying Ang and Alicia, so happy I can share this perfect moment with them, my two best friends. I turn to see Oliver take the Cup from McGonagall crying, and he passes it to Harry after lifting it over his head. I laugh and go up to hug him. "Great game Captain! I don't think Puddlemere can turn you down now!" He smiled down at me, "Thanks Kates. I was actually just thinking about-"

Suddenly the twins come over and pull him away, "THE SCOUTS WANT TO TALK TO YOU OLIVER! HURRY THEY'RE THIS WAY!"

Oliver looks back at me in surprise, and appears about to say something. I shrug and give him a thumbs up as Cedric runs up to me and lifts me up and spins around. "KATIE YOU BEAT SLYTHERIN!" I laugh at his excitement. "Seriously Bell! That game was amazing to watch! You guys were flawless."

I smiled embarrassed by the compliment, "I'm glad we impressed you Ced. You impress me on a daily basis with your arithmancy knowledge."

Tons of random people came up to congratulate me, but then across the pitch I notice the one person I want to see the most. I begin to run, shoving people of out the way. I notice his teammates around him, but I don't even care. "KEV! KEVIN!"

He hears me and turns towards me with a huge smile, "BABY KATE! YOU DID IT!" He hugs me close and congratulates me. As he begins breaking down the game I glance over at Oliver talking to the official team scouts. I can't help, but be excited for him. I am going to miss him next year though, especially since he will be busy training with the team. He turns and catches my eyes, and smiles at me before turning back. I quickly turn back to Kevin's break down of every play from the game, and notice his teammates watching us intently. huh .. they're all so built. Maybe I will see more of these good looking qudditich players and I won't miss Oliver so much. It probably wouldn't help.. I will probably always be hopelessly in love with Oliver Wood.

"KATHRYN! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" Kevin says in fake outrage.

I laugh and give him a hug, "I need to go to the locker room, but I will see you at the platform soon, right?"

"I'll be there. Don't have too much fun celebrating," He nervously glances behind me.

I start to walk away but yell back, "I WON'T DO ANYTHING YOU WOULDN'T HAVE DONE!"

He starts to nod, and then stops suddenly, "HEY! NOT FUNNY!"

I run towards the locker room, avoiding a cluster of Slytherins with a wide distance. It's time to have some Gryffindor fun.
