13.
Michael was getting really tired of waking up in hospital beds. Blinking a few times, he realized his left eye had been healed, and his vision returned. He gave his face a few gentle touches and felt only faint lines where his skull had fractured during the festival. Looking around, he found Mina had fallen asleep in the chair beside him and could hear voices behind the door. Nudging her with his hand, he whispered, "Hey, Pinks. Wake up, hon."
The girl murmured something before grabbing his hand and hugging it to herself as she shifted in her seat, still unconscious. The door finally cracked open to reveal All-Might himself standing proud with a dazzling smile aimed at him and a heroic pose to go with it. He opened his mouth to say something before his eyes locked onto the girl sleeping peacefully beside him. He walked in, taking care to step lightly as he came to a stop on the other side of his bed and whispered, "Young Farron, you did extremely well today. Few General Studies students ever participate, and fewer make it past the first round. You are among a very select few to place in the final three and not originally come from the Hero course. I've only ever seen it twice, with you being the second time. I must say that I am honored to award you with this medal."
In his hand rested a bronze medal with the number three engraved into it, with a blue ribbon hanging from it. All-Might gently hung the medal on Michael's neck who gave a small, content smile at the moment. The moment was only disturbed when a bright flash came from the door. Shinso stood alongside Midoriya, Yaoyorozu, Jiro and Kaminari as he quickly tried to hide his phone away. "Delete that picture." Michael hissed at his friend as Mina stirred.
The brainwasher smiled as he shook his head and walked next to the number one hero with the group. "What are you guys doing here?" He asked as Mina awoke with a loud yawn.
Momo was the first to speak and said, "We all saw the damage you'd taken in your last fight. Cementoss was able to absorb most of the last attack, but we all saw you get hit with some of the rubble."
Jiro chimed in next, "Yeah, after you gave Bakugo that headache, he just seemed to go berserk. You shoulda seen him at the award ceremony."
"Kacchan was a bit more… Intense than usual." Midoriya commented as All-Might nodded in agreement with their assessments.
"Yes, young Bakugo was quite irate despite winning first place. Hopefully, he will have calmed down come the beginning of class on Monday." The giant blonde said with a confident smile.
Michael pushed himself up with his free arm and shook his head in confusion at his words. "Wait… Monday? Tomorrow is Thursday, and we got school."
"Oh dude, we're getting the next two days and the weekend off." Kaminari explained with a thumbs up.
A new gruff voice added itself into the mix, saying, "Children… Please clear out so that we may speak to Mr. Farron in private. We assure you, he's not in trouble."
Aizawa and Midnight stood side by side a few feet in front of the door with neutral faces as they waited for the students to say their goodbyes. Momo went to leave before stopping and turning to the serpentine teen. "If you aren't busy tonight, could you call me?"
Mina raised a tired eye at the tall girl's words before dismissing it as Michael nodded to the creation user and turned to Kaminari. "Hey, Kaminari… Don't get wrapped up in Mineta's crap again. I'd prefer to be friends with you, and acting like him is going to make that impossible."
The electric teen gave him a quick nod before heading out with everyone but Mina. "I'm sorry for headbutting you like that, hon."
"I should melt you for that." She commented with a slight frown and another yawn.
"I meant what I said, though."
"Then say it again."
Michael smiled at the girl before saying, "I love you."
Purple burned across her cheeks as she huffed as her sleepy golden eyes looked to the three teachers, silently asking for permission. Aizawa sighed with a roll of his eyes before he said, "Hurry up."
Mina squealed in happiness before locking lips with Michael. The two broke apart with a gasp as they fought for air. "I love you too." Mina said, wide awake and nearly breathless from the kiss.
Getting up from the chair, she waved him goodbye before skipping out of the room. Midnight gave him a slow clap while Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose. All-Might just stood smiling at the happy exchange as he waited for Aizawa to begin. Sighing, the eraser hero began by saying, "I hope you don't let your personal feelings cloud your judgment Mr. Farron. I can't ban you from having a relationship with anyone, but I will warn you against letting them interfere with your studies. Now, I'll let Ms. Kayama inform you of the situation at hand."
The R Rated Hero sighed before stepping to the teen's bedside and giving a small smile. "Michael Farron. I'm so happy and sad to tell you this, but you are officially being transferred into the Hero Course. Under official recommendation from pro-heroes All-Might, Eraserhead and myself, Principal Nezu has transferred you into Class 1-A. I will still teach you but will no longer act as your homeroom teacher. I'm happy to have been your teacher. Now go be a hero and make me proud." She said as Aizawa cleared his throat.
"Starting Monday morning, you'll be reporting to classroom 1-A. You will be taking seat number 21 behind Yaoyorozu and, sometime that week, will be subject to a quirk examination from one of U.A's qualified quirk doctors to get the most accurate readout of your quirk capabilities as possible. This class is fast-paced and will not slow down if you lag behind. Villains grow bolder every day, and we as a school can not afford to produce a new generation of heroes incapable of adapting and overcoming. That being said… Good job out there today. Welcome to Class 1-A."
All-Might was next to say, "Young Farron, seeing such determination from the next generation to fight for what they want makes me feel that much better about the next generation of heroes. So remember, when you're out there, and it seems like you can fight no longer, dig deep and go beyond your limits. Push yourself as you've never done before and break any limits as you go… PLUS ULTRA!"
"Thank y'all. It means a lot to me that y'all are letting me do this. Wait… What about Shinso? Is he transferring over with me or something?"
"Unfortunately, Hitoshi Shinso has not displayed the ability necessary to keep up in the hero course but has shown the potential to do so in the future should he keep up his training. For now, he'll stay in the general studies class and be occasionally brought over to check on his progress and train with you and the rest of the hero students. Now, if that's all… Recovery Girl has cleared you to head home." Aizawa said as he fought off a yawn.
Michael nodded his head as he threw the cover off his body and swung his legs off the bed. "Ugh, my head is killing me." The snake teen said as he stretched his legs and rubbed his eyes.
"Young Farron, I mean it when I say that I am proud to see you come this far and can hardly wait to see how much further you'll go." All-Might said with a nearly blinding smile and a hand outstretched to him.
Taking his hand, Michael could feel the number one hero grip his with a firm yet still restrained grip. The two shook hands as Midnight stood by with a sad smile and Aizawa leaving the room. All-Might was the next to leave the room as Michael made his way over to his former homeroom teacher. "You and Ms. Ashido are just the cutest thing. I can hardly wait for the wedding invitation." She said with a grin.
"That will be a long time coming, but I'll make sure you get your invitation."
"Oh, don't rush on my behalf, Mister. You just make sure to take good care of that girl. Now, before I decide that I don't wanna share you with Aizawa, promise me that you'll take care of yourself over there." She said as she looked up to her student.
"You worried about me or something, Ms. Kayama?"
She frowned and put a hand on her hip before saying, "Farron, I saw two students from my class out there today, and one of them managed to only have a simple back and forth fistfight. The other one was electrocuted to the point that I could smell him cooking and then went on to get blown halfway to Hell. A good part of me wanted nothing but to call the fight at both parts, but I knew it wouldn't be fair to you or any of the other students. I hate to see you kids get hurt, so I'll be keeping an eye on you. Got it?" She said with narrowed eyes.
"Yes, ma'am. Thank you. Thank you for letting me fight and for pushing for me to get transferred. I'll try to be careful." He said.
"I'm a pro hero, Mr. Farron. I know for a fact that no matter how careful you are, someone is bound to get hurt out there. Try to keep that from being you." She said with a sad smile before turning to leave.
She got out the door before stopping and looking at her phone. Turning back to Michael, he could see a smile on her face before she flashed her phone screen at him and said, "Shinso takes the best pictures of the two of you by the way."
A look at the phone showed Michael in the bed, Mina in the chair hugging his arm close to her as she slept peacefully. His cheeks dusted red at the picture before he hissed in mock anger. "Bastards got a knack for catching me off-guard."
Midnight only laughed as she waved him goodbye and left him alone in the room.
The trip home was quiet and uneventful as Michael jogged back in the quickly dying light of the setting sun. Stepping up to his door, he opened it to see his house completely dark and silent. He took two steps inside before the door was slammed shut behind him with a bang. "Michael." Toga's voice was laced with a hidden danger as he barely made out the sound of her footsteps stop directly behind him.
"Yes, Himiko?" He cautiously asked as he looked over his shoulder.
"I watched you out there today."
"I take it you ordered the pay per view then?" He asked before he felt the cold steel of a blade press to the side of his neck.
"Himiko… Honey… Put the knife away and tell me what's going on." He asked as he raised both hands up.
"I saw you fight. I saw the blonde guy make you bleed. Nobody is allowed to do that, except for me." She said with a burning hatred bleeding into her voice.
"Weren't you the one excited to see that?" He asked the unhinged girl.
"I changed my mind. From now on… I'm the only one allowed to hurt you like that. Got it?" She said as she put more pressure on his neck.
Blood began to slowly weep from his neck as the girl shivered in a blind rage at someone else breaking her property. The girl threw the knife to the side before standing on her tiptoes to lick at the blood dripping from his neck. Her hands desperately held onto his shoulders as she licked and kissed the wound. "Let's get a towel, and I'll let you take what you need, okay?"
The girl broke away as Michael turned to finally look at her. Her ashen blonde hair framed her pale face and complimented her golden cat eyes that locked onto him. A fleshy pink tongue licked at pale lips stained red with his blood, and her chest heaved as she panted in anticipation. She wasted no time following him to the bathroom to grab a dark grey towel before finally stopping in his room. The two sat side by side on his bed with the towel underfoot as Michael brought up his left hand. A deep angry scar across his palm greeted them as his right hand reached for the knife on his nightstand. Toga's eyes flicked back and forth from her lover's eyes to the knife as it slowly bit into his palm.
Michael grit his teeth as he offered her his hand, blood pooling in his palm as the scar split open with ease. His hand was snatched up as the girl began gorging herself. A few seconds of drinking from the cut, and Himiko broke away from him, blood dripping from her chin and staining her face crimson. Gold and steel orbs stared at each other as her arm wiped away the excess from her lips. "Take your fucking clothes off." Himiko ordered as she threw his father's sweat-top off, exposing her bare chest.
"No. I need to make a call first. Let me do this, and we can have a bit of fun." Michael said as he pulled his phone out.
"I wasn't asking, Michael."
The boy stared at the bloody grin of the blonde psychopath before wrapping a hand around her throat and leaning in close to her ear. "Neither was I, but since you've been behaving, I'll humor you. Stay quiet, and you can have your fun while I'm on the phone." He said, letting his fingers trail across her neck and standing up as he searched through his contacts.
Pressing down on Momo's name, he brought the phone to his ear as Himiko took her place in front of him and on her knees. The line rang a few times before connecting, and Momo's voice was heard. "Michael?"
"Hey, Momo. You said to call you, right?" He said as his pants and drawers were brought to his ankles.
"Yeah, I just wanted to check in on you and ask you a few things. You aren't busy, are you?"
"What? No, I'm good to talk about whatever. Fire away." He reassured her as he looked down to see Himiko grinning up at him, fangs on display as her tongue ran across them.
"Alright, well, I've been thinking, and I wanted to know why you decided to help me so much during the obstacle course. There's no way I would've done so well without you."
Michael suppressed a gasp as he felt Toga's mouth take him in slowly. "Ok, look. You are not giving yourself nearly enough credit here. If anything, you have this ass-backward. I wouldn't have placed so high without your help. You made the tools, and I just knew how and where to employ them."
"That's the thing. You didn't hesitate out there. You didn't second guess yourself or worry about anything that happened while I just froze."
"Momo, how much have you used your quirk in high-stress environments?" He asked before flinching as a fang gently grazed his tip.
The blonde broke away to blow him a kiss before taking him all the way to his base. He couldn't help but gasp at the feeling that nearly overloaded his system.
"Are you okay?" Yaoyorozu asked, confused at the sound.
Michael's brain scrambled before a lie came to mind. "Yeah, just accidentally opened up that scar on my hand again. Stung the hell out of me."
"I thought I told you to get that looked at. You aren't cutting yourself or something, are you?"
"No, no. Nothing like that at all. Recovery Girl actually fixed it up when I lost the last match, but I just opened it up trying to move this damn box. Anyways, back to my question." He said as he struggled to focus on the conversation while Himiko had her fun.
Looking back down at her in annoyance, he saw one of her hands working at herself while she kept sucking. Quiet moans and content hums added to the barrage of feeling that threatened to overload him with each second. "Alright, be more careful, Michael. You don't want Mina to freak out over you, right?"
"No. I'd rather not have that." He agreed as his free hand found itself gently grabbing the ashen blonde hair that hid her breasts from his sight.
"Good. Now, to answer your question, I haven't had much experience outside of class in using my quirk like that. I'm not quite used to creating things on the fly like that, and I always get worried that what I create won't be what's best for the situation at hand."
"So? Sometimes, there is no right tool for any one job. Making do with what you have on hand is a skill that can make or break in a bad situation. You wanted to do the bladed weaponry class with me, right?" He asked.
"Yes. Jiro and I were the only ones to volunteer when asked." She answered, unsure of where this was going.
"I'm going to apply for the firearms class to go alongside that."
"Why would you need a gun?" Momo asked, confused.
"I have no ranged ability or means to make it possible outside of a gun. Japan only allows firearms for use by heroes after extensive training, but that's not what I'm telling you this for. I want to know if you'd apply with me." He explained as he guided Himiko's head with his hand.
"Why would I need a permit for firearms?"
"I'm not sure if you remember, but we kind of shot an anti-material rifle that used HEAT rounds earlier today. You might need a license to do that in this line of work."
"Oh… Well then." The black-haired girl went quiet as she thought of how the two of them brought down the zero pointers in the race.
Using the moment of quiet to his advantage, Michael pulled Toga's mouth off him by her hair and whispered to her, "Fucking strip, bitch."
Bringing the phone back up to him, he continued, "Momo, I don't mind helping you out with the whole heat of the moment thing, and showing you how to improvise won't be hard either. Just think about signing up for the class and get back to me when you make up your mind, okay?" He asked as Himiko slid the green sweatpants down her legs inch by inch, making sure that Michael kept his eyes on her.
Momo's voice snapped him back to reality as she said, "Okay, but one last thing, Michael."
"What's that?"
"During your fight with Bakugo, I couldn't help but see your face. It was the same one you had back at the USJ when you… handled the villain who destroyed your arm."
"Momo, I killed that fucker. I appreciate you trying to lessen its severity, but that's something that should be called as it is. I didn't murder him, but I did kill him."
A soft sigh was heard through the speaker before his classmate continued, "I suppose so. Anyways, I bring it up because when you got that look, you didn't fight like you had been. You fought like you were back in the USJ, being swarmed by those villains. I saw you elbow Bakugo in the throat and I just want you to be careful when you get to that state. I don't want you to kill someone else unless it's your only choice."
Michael mentally cursed himself as he listened to her explain her worries. He had gotten sloppy and went for the throat in front of thousands of people. There was no telling how many other people caught on besides Momo, and now he'd have another set of eyes on him. "Yeah, don't worry, I just got a bit lost in the moment." He said as Himiko's panties hit the floor.
"Well, Michael. I'm glad we had this talk. I feel a lot better, and I appreciate your offer to help me. Just try to keep your head on your shoulders out there, okay?"
"Ha. I'll do my best. I'll see you in class Monday."
"Wait… So you did make it into the hero course?"
"Uhh, yeah. I'll be in class 1-A. Mr. Aizawa told me after you guys cleared out the room. Nobody else knows, so don't ruin it for them." Michael said as the naked blonde growled impatiently.
"Excellent! I figured you had done well enough but wasn't sure on the final say. Well, congratulations, Michael. I'll see you Monday. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Momo." He said before ending the call.
Himiko smiled softly before saying, "Made it into the Hero course, did we?"
"Yeah."
"Hmm. Well, how about you come save me?"
"From what, hon?"
"Myself." She answered as Michael crawled onto the bed and positioned himself over her.
Turning on the hot water, Toga stepped in the shower with Michael following behind her. The shower had been silent until Michael grabbed Himiko's hips and spun her around to face him. "Hey, Himiko, honey?"
"Yes, Mikey?" She said as her fingers traced the Lichtenberg figures that decorated his chest.
"I'm free until Monday, so would you like to have that date here soon?" He asked as he grabbed a bottle of shampoo and poured a glob in his hand.
Himiko's face scrunched in confusion before she asked, "Wouldn't you rather go with Mina?"
"Why do you ask that?"
"I saw you at the festival, Michael. You love her, while you only humor me to keep your secrets safe."
"Are you really still on this dumbass idea? I know I told you that I want to help you. I know I haven't exactly announced to a fucking crowd like I did with Mina, but…."
"But what, Michael?" The blonde asked angrily, gripping his wrists and holding them to his sides.
"Himiko… I love you. I know it's early, and there's not much I can use to prove it. I know that you are probably the last person I should say this to, but I know what love feels like. I love you just as much as I love Mina, and I'm going to do what it takes to keep you both in the end."
"...Why? Why are you putting me in this position? I just want to be able to do whatever I want and live how I feel like I should. Why are you so determined to be a hero when the only way I can have you is if you stay a villain?"
"Because I'm going to change what it means to be a hero or villain. I'm sick of everyone pretending there isn't a grey line between the black and white. I'm going to save you, and I'll be as villainous or heroic as I have to be to do it."
"Is that supposed to make me feel better? What if the heroes catch you? What if Shigaraki finds out? I watched the festival, and I watched you fight. One hero or villain with a quirk you can't fight is all it takes." She said as she stared up at him.
"You saw me playing by the rules. If I'm going to do this, I'm going to have to play both sides, and when it comes down to it, my own rules."
"You're going to end up in Tartarus, or even worse, dead. You fucking idiot!"
"Why do you care so much?" He challenged, bringing his hands to her shoulders and staring back down at her in a silent struggle of will.
"Because I want you with me! I like waking up in your arms and the way you hold me! I like the way you look at me like I mean something to you! I like the way you actually care for me enough to look past the monster I am! My own parents abandoned me, and here you are, doing all this bullshit and risking a chance at living a life outside of the shadows! I fucking used you… I raped you, and here you are still telling me that you fucking love me. I thought I was the crazy one!" She screamed, her words echoing off the shower walls.
"I don't care about what you've done... I just care about you. Tomorrow, we're going to find your parents, and one way or another, we're going to find closure for you. Okay?" He asked as she caught her breath.
Himiko nearly fell to her knees before Michael had caught her and set her down gently. He took a seat beside her as she cried into his shoulder, her tears mixing with the water before draining away.
