Michael hated the cold, especially this early in the fall. His light grey hoodie acted as his only defense against Japan's frigid early morning wind while making his way to school. In this cold, he might've called a cab, but the pink girl walking beside him had convinced him otherwise. Five minutes of begging and multiple attempts at bribing him with kisses had finally won him over to make the trip on foot. He was cold, tired, and more than a little annoyed, but he couldn't deny that having her with him was nice.
"So, do you have an idea of what we might be doing today, hon?" He asked with a gentle squeeze of her hand.
"Aizawa said it would be something super important about our hero careers, but that could be almost anything. So I'm not sure." She, squeezed back.
The two walked on in relative silence, the birds having gone for warmer lands earlier in the year and traffic almost nonexistent this early. The sounds of conversation were slowly getting louder as they approached the school until Michael slowed to a stop.
"Mina, can we talk?"
The pink girl's face took on a hint of worry at his words. "Umm, sure. What's up, Mikey?"
"Well… what do you think about us? Are we moving too fast? Are we moving too slow? Like… I just don't want to ruin anything."
"Mikey, I think we're doing fine as we are. So long as we're both happy and honest, then I don't see a problem." She reassured him with a bright smile.
"Good… Good... Goddammit. Did I ever tell you why I left America and came here?"
Mina looked up in thought, sorting through her memories before casually shrugging and saying, "Nope. I don't think you did."
Michael began to mentally brace himself for the backlash he'd surely receive when he told her the truth. He'd be putting everything he'd worked for at stake by being honest but felt that it needed to be done. He was no hero, but he couldn't bring himself to stoop so low as a villain to continue the charade with the girl he loved. "I… I got in a lot of trouble with the law over there. I got involved with some bad people to try and get back at the people who screwed my family over. I was… I… GODDAMN IT! I was a fucking villain, Mina. I did a lot of bad shit and ran here to try and get away from it all."
Mina broke away from his hand in shock. Her wide, golden eyes looked into his as they threatened to give way to the tears he barely managed to hold back. "They brought me here to help them as a spy, but I'm trying to work against them. I don't want you caught up in this, but I need your help and understanding if this is going to work out. I need you, and I'm sorry for putting you in this position, but I can't lie to you."
Mina stood still as she processed his words, the meaning behind them slowly taking effect as she struggled for a reply. Taking her hesitation as rejection, Michael turned away from her as he strained to keep what little bearing he had left. He hadn't realized he'd been violently shivering until a pink pair of arms wrapped around him from behind, ceasing his body's movements. "Michael, I don't care about what you've done. I love you, but from now on, you need to tell me everything." She said as she rested her head on his back.
Letting out a breath he didn't realize he was holding, he replied, "You need to come over after school today. It's time you meet someone, and I'll tell you everything you want to know."
"Good… Let's go. We're gonna be late if we don't hurry." She said, breaking from the hug with a worried glance to her boyfriend.
The couple burst into a run, passing the gate and sprinting into the school. Mina took the lead while Michael held back, guilt and anxiety weighing heavily on his mind as he memorized his new route to class. Finally, the two burst through the door and had just taken their seats as Aizawa walked in, tired eyes instantly locking onto the couple's heavy breathing. "Tardiness can't and won't be accepted in this class, ever. Don't make a habit of cutting it this close again." He reprimanded before walking behind his desk with a sigh.
"Good morning. I'm sure the lot of you have noticed that Michael Farron is currently sitting behind Yaoyorozu in a seat that previously did not exist. He is living proof that the spots you currently have are earned through a mix of ability and skill that others don't possess. Be sure to congratulate him or something later. Now, moving onto the plan for the day. First, we have a big class today. It's on hero informatics. You'll need code names, so it's time to pick your hero identity."
The majority of the class erupted into cheering, only to be immediately silenced by a withering glare from Aizawa.
"This has to do with the Pro Hero Draft I mentioned last time we were here. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, but your class is different. The pros are pretty much investing in your potential and can rescind said offers if you don't live up to their interests."
Toru piped up with a question, "So what you're saying is that we'll still have to prove ourselves after we've been recruited?"
"Correct. Now here are the total offers for each of you."
With that, a screen behind him flashed to life and put numbers next to their names. Todoroki and Bakugo had dominated in the total offers sent their way, numbering in the thousands. Looking for his name, he found it sitting close to the bottom with a mere three offers.
"What the fuck?" Michael muttered under his breath, confused and mildly insulted at the number.
Whispers of the stilted numbers flitted about throughout the class, many commenting on the top two earners. Midoriya was equally shocked, and Michael couldn't imagine why nobody had sent the green-haired boy an offer. Michael sat quietly and watched as Mineta leaned out of his chair and shook his shoulders. "Midoriya! You got none. It was probably because of the crazy way you were fighting."
Michael mentally slapped himself as he remembered how the two spent their time fighting. Both boys had been gluttons for punishment, taking extreme damage while hardly showcasing their quirks. The two of them had effectively shown the world how good they were at being punching bags. At least Midoriya had managed to show off near the end of his bout with Todoroki, while he'd only managed to barely stand against the raw explosive power of Bakugo.
"Despite these results, you'll all be doing internships, even if you didn't receive any offers. You all have had experience fighting real villains, but learning how heroes operate in the field up close and personal will only help. These hero names will likely be temporary, but take them seriously or-" a new voice cut off Aizawa.
"You'll have hell to pay later." Midnight said as she strutted inside the classroom, arms behind her head and chest out on display.
"I've been here for maybe ten minutes, and I'm already lost in the sauce." Michael said quietly to himself, the somber mood from earlier completely forgotten.
"What you pick today could be your codename for life. Better be careful, or you'll be stuck with something utterly indecent." She said as she came to a stop by Aizawa.
"Yeah, she's got a good point. Midnight is going to have final approval over your names… Not my forte." Aizawa said, grabbing his sleeping continued by saying, "The name you give yourself is important. It helps show who you plan to be in the future. Take All-Might, for example."
The class muttered in thought before grabbing their markers and beginning to brainstorm ideas. Michael, however, was fairly confident in the name he'd be using. It was simple, straightforward and a part of him found it charming if a bit on the nose. He'd nearly stood up to go first when Aoyama had stood and nearly skipped upfront. "Hold your breath!" He said in his French-accented Japanese.
His sign flipped over to reveal the name, "I Can Not Stop Twinkling."
"What the fuck?" Michael asked nobody in particular, only to be met with equally confused faces from his new classmates.
Midnight made a few changes before accepting the revised name of "Can't Stop Twinkling."
Aoyama's smile beamed as he happily walked back to his seat, Mina excitedly running up to the stand next. "My name will be Alien Queen!" She said with a grin.
"Hold on! Like that horrible monster that has acidic blood? I don't think so."
"Well, that's a damn shame, honey. Well, I'd never have guessed that Ms. Nemuri doesn't like the Alien movies. I bet money she's a fan of the Hellraiser movies though." Michael mused to himself as he grabbed his board and stood up.
Walking to the podium, he noticed Tsuyu nervously standing beside him, her gaze locked on him as he made a show of licking his fangs. "Relax, Tsuyu. I told you my quirk doesn't really affect my diet." He lied, playfully rolling his snake eyes at her nervousness.
"Sorry, it's just a force of habit, I guess. Please, just call me Tsu, by the way." She said as the two looked back to the class, Midnight happily waiting for their entries.
"I've had this name in mind since grade school. Rainy Season Hero, Froppy."
Michael was next to go as he revealed his board to the class. "It's nothing special, but here's what I got. The Venomous Hero, Cottonmouth."
"Those are delightful! One sounds approachable, and the other is sure to make villains think twice. Two great examples of hero names that everyone will love." Midnight praised as the two students went back to their seats.
The rest of the class took their turns at the podium and showcased their choices. Names such as Earphone Jack, Tentacole, and Sugarman were approved nearly instantly. Mina had finally made her return to the front of the class and shouted her next choice, "Pinky!" Midnight gave her the okay while Michael happily looked on, quietly clapping his congratulations.
More names were approved until, finally, Bakugo revealed his choice of King Explosion Murder. Farron could only grin at the intensity of his voice as he said it. He was quickly shot down before the last few names were decided, leaving only Midoriya to pick his own. "Well, Midoriya, are you ready?" Midnight asked.
The green-haired boy looked on in determination as he revealed his board to show his name. The majority of the class reacted with gasps and other expressions of shock at the choice of name, leaving Micheal confused at the choice. A brief explanation was given before he confirmed the name Deku.
"Well, now that we're done with choosing hero names, we can get back to the hero internships."Aizawa said, standing back up and dropping his sleeping bag. "These last a week, and as for who you will be working with, it depends on whether you got offers or not. Those with none have a separate list. Each agency has a different specialty they focus on, so keep this in mind." "Imagine if you were Thirteen, you'd want a place that focuses on rescuing and not fighting villains. Understand?" Midnight asked as the bell signaled the end of the period.
Each student quickly began looking over the list of heroes as they were passed out to them. "Turn in your choices before the weekend." Aizawa added over his shoulder, stepping out of the classroom.
"We only have two days?" Kaminari asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, so you'd better start now." The gruff teacher shot back as the door closed behind him.
The discussion began almost immediately, with the class asking each other who they were thinking about interning under. Michael sat quietly in his desk, the half sheet of paper holding the only three names that saw potential in him. Flicking his gaze back up, he saw Uraraka striking a fighting pose, a concerned look on her face. "There's something I've meant to ask you all day. Why are you trembling?" She asked.
"Just an exercise." Midoriya answered, Michael, shifting to get a look at the verdanette. He was holding himself just above his chair, a faint tremble showing every few seconds from the constant strain.
Farron had barely noticed Mina walking over to him, taking a spot beside his desk as she looked down at his list of names. "So who sent you an offer, Mikey?" She asked, her voice reminding him of the coming talk.
Wordlessly, he handed her the paper and watched her facial expression a bit with every name she read. "Death Arms, Gunhead and... Uwabami?" She asked, handing his paper back to him.
"Two brawlers and a supermodel… I have no idea why either."
"Well, she is the Snake Hero, after all. May just be a kindred spirit kind of deal?"
"Or maybe she wants me to dress up all nice and neat. Either way, I'm pretty sure I know who I'm choosing."
"Oh really? Then who are you picking, Mikey?" She asked in excitement.
The serpentine teen looked down at the paper before meeting her golden eyes, finding comfort in them despite his nerves acting up. "I figure I'll just go with Death Arms. He's not too far from where I live, and from what I've heard, the crime rate there is fairly low. He's pretty straightforward with how he operates too, and I think I can really compliment his abilities."
"How so?"
"Well… Death Arms is like a sledgehammer, while I'm more of a scalpel. While he's there drawing attention and causing damage, I can slip in and take out any important bits."
"Oh, I see. Wow, that's actually a really good synergy you got planned out." Mina said, looking back at her own list of offers.
Faint footsteps could be heard as they slowed to a stop beside Mina. Jiro stood one hand on her hip, the other twirling her earlobe around her finger. "I couldn't help but hear that you were thinking about choosing Death Arms, right?" The rocker asked.
"Yeah, you picked him too or something?"
"Yeah, he was on the list for anyone who didn't get offers. I figured he'd be a good place to start on getting some hand-to-hand training in." Jiro said as she peeked down at his slip of paper.
"Uwabami?"
"We have no idea either, Jiro."
"Please, Kyoka is fine; just don't make it weird."
"Weirder than Earphone Jack?" Michael teased before catching Mina's eyes locked onto the rocker.
A quick look into his thermal vision showed the reds and yellows of her body temperature begin to shift slowly, her hands curling into the beginning of a fist. "Hey, baby." Michael said, snatching her attention from Kyoka.
"I get why your first name choice was Alien Queen, but why did you settle on Pinky?" He asked before taking his hand in hers.
He didn't need his thermals to see the purple blush dusting her cheeks before she snapped out of her spell and answered him. "Well, Mikey… Look at me."
The two girls shared a quick laugh as Michael rolled his eyes. "No, seriously. Is there any reasoning behind it, or is it seriously just based on your skin?"
"No. I just picked a name. You don't like it?"
"I love it. I was just curious." He answered before looking back to Jiro, who looked annoyed at him.
"What's wrong with Earphone Jack?" She demanded.
"Nothing. It's just weird if you ask me." He said with a shrug of his shoulders, much to her annoyance.
Kaminari's voice was the next to make itself known as he stepped in. "Hey! I think it's a perfect name."
"I'm sure you do. I hope you haven't forgotten that I still wanna talk to you about that whole cheerleader stunt." Michael reminded, narrowing his cold steel gaze at the lecherous electrode.
"Uh, yeah, man. I haven't forgotten." Denki assured, two earphone jacks hovering at his throat.
"Right… Well, in any case, I suppose your name is more creative than mine. I literally just chose the snake I share abilities with. I hate to change the subject, but what's our schedule look like for today?"
"We'll be doing math, history, and science, followed by lunch and usually a heroics class of some kind. Tomorrow we'll do laws and ethics, art and lifestyle classes before lunch, and another heroics class. We typically alternate between those two schedules every day, but we have to be ready for whatever." Kyoka finished explaining before the bell rang, signaling their next class for the day.
Lunch couldn't come soon enough for Michael. The classes were easy enough that he could zone out for the majority of them, math with Ectoplasm being the only one he paid any real attention to. With the ring of the bell releasing them, Class 1-A filed out of class and made their way to the cafeteria.
A dull roar of conversation made up the majority of background noise, the clinking of dishes and the soft thuds of footsteps adding to it. The smell of all kinds of food permeated the room as Michael stopped in front of the large spread, Mina by his side. Taking a look around, he could see Midoriya sitting alongside Ochaco and Tsuyu, Iida and Todoroki across from them. A few tables over sat Bakugo and Kirishima with Kaminari and Sato on the other side. Scanning the room, he could see other familiar faces scattered throughout tables and enjoying their meals.
"What's up, Michael?" A familiar voice asked.
"Not sh-" Michael's voice cut out, his mind fogging over while his body stiffened.
"Come sit over here, you dumbass." Shinso shouted with a laugh before releasing his control over his friend.
"I really wish you'd stop doing that shit." Michael said, leading Mina over to where his purple-haired friend sat alone.
He pulled Mina's seat out before taking his own across from the brainwasher. Looking down at his friend's plate, he saw a few salmon belly sushi rolls, a small puddle of soy sauce to the side. "Ha, not on your life. Anyways, congratulations on your placement in the hero course. Which class did they place you in?" Shinso asked, breaking apart his chopsticks with a small smile and half-lidded eyes.
"Class 1-A. Which is good for me, as it saves me the trouble of having to constantly go against Pinky, here." Michael said, nudging Mina with his elbow.
She merely stuck her tongue out at him before diving into her natto. Shinso's sleepy purple eyes looked over to the pink girl before locking back onto Michael's apologetic expression, smirking all the while. "Like I said, congratulations. Don't worry about me though, Aizawa told me that while I was on the right track, I'd need a bit more time working on myself to get to that level. Hell, he even offered to teach me a few tricks of his own," He explained, prodding at a sushi roll before popping it in his mouth.
"Good, that makes me feel a bit better. It just bothered the hell out of me that we both did more or less the same thing, but I got in, and you didn't." Farron said, pushing a small piece of fried fish around his plate.
"True, but you managed to succeed despite failing in your plan of... What was it again? Punching him in the fucking face?" Shinso said, chuckling at the result of said plan.
"Yeah, not the best idea I've ever had." The serpentine teen said, tracing his fingers over the Lichtenberg figures that still adorned his neck and lower jaw.
Mina's eyes flicked over to track his fingers as she relived the memory of watching him scream and convulse in the arena. Michael caught her worried gaze before leaning over to plant a kiss on her cheek, leaving a lavender blush across her face. Shinso let the two have their moment before continuing, "Then you went on to play a game of Acid Tag before making sure your girl got her beauty sleep."
The boys shared a laugh at Mina's expense, an aggravated pout quickly replacing the blush. "Hey! I said I was sorry for that." Michael said as Mina stole a piece of fish off his plate.
"Finally, you go against the blonde with anger issues and manage to keep up with him hand to hand; better yet, you landed a hit that sent him reeling. So one more time so I don't have to see you all mopey when you're around me… Congrats, you earned it." Shinso said, pulling his plate away from Mina's reaching hand.
"Well, what are you gonna do now that I'm out of there?" Michael asked, finally convinced there'd be no hard feelings.
"Are you kidding? I should be asking you that! You're gonna be stuck with all those crazy hero kids, and I'm not gonna be there to persuade them not to pummel you." Shinso shot back, his smile on full display as the three laughed.
The three were interrupted when the bell signaled the end of the lunch period, sending them on their way to their respective classes.
Finally, the last class of the day had arrived with All-Might coming through the door, the Symbol of Peace on full display as he quickly shot into the lesson. "Good afternoon, kids, and welcome to Class 1-A's Heroics period, Michael. I'll be quick to explain this period as a class meant to teach and ingrain the multiple facets of heroics in the field. This includes everything from rescuing cats in trees to hostage situations and the capture and detainment of villains. We will be rerunning the Battle Trials from the first heroics class for today's lesson. This will be mainly to see where young Farron stands in his current knowledge and application of battle tactics and teamwork., but also to see what you've learned since last time. Everyone, grab your costumes and suit up! Report to Ground Beta and be ready to fight!" The giant man said, spurring the class into a frantic buzz.
Looking around in confusion, Michael felt the all-powerful yet restrained grip of All-Might gently squeeze his shoulder. "Young Farron. I do believe you will need this." He said as he held out a silver case with the number 21 engraved into the side, alongside his name in Japanese and English.
Reaching out, he took the case and cracked it open to peek inside, All-Might's laugh booming as he said, "Hurry to the locker rooms to get dressed! I can't wait to see the newest hero student ready to fight for what's right."
The teen looked up into the pro hero's light blue eyes and proud face. For a moment, he could feel his knees tremble in the presence of such greatness and power. Finally, Michael was able to gather his wits to run off after his classmates.
Minutes later, Michael had changed into his costume and was staring into the mirror. An M50 gas mask stared back from the shade that a hooded jacket provided. Thousands of tiny hex shapes made up the pattern that covered the entirety of the dark grey jacket and matching tactical pants with a nightstick on each thigh. A look at his armored gloves and combat boots revealed the same tiny hexagons over every inch of his costume. Smiling, Michael activated his quirk, and the suit responded with a quiet pop before camouflaging itself along with him. Satisfied, he dropped his camouflage, another quiet pop being heard as his costume followed suit. He turned to leave, only to find the rest of the boys in the class staring at him, taking in his costume's appearance. Sero was the first to chime in by saying, "Yo, your costume is dope as fuck!"
Most of the remaining boys chimed in with their own comments, besides Todoroki and Bakugo, who remained silent. "Dude, you look like a secret agent or some kind of saboteur." Said Kaminari as he traced the hex patterns with a thumb.
Michael couldn't help but shoot his gaze towards the blonde, who yelped and accidentally let out a small shock. The electricity arced across his jacket and pants, sending patches of the hexagons into a brief frenzy of changing colors before quickly settling back down to their natural dark grey. Looking over his costume, he grabbed Kaminari's hand and placed it on his shoulder. "When I camouflage, I want you to give me a small zap… Don't fucking fry me again." He said as Kaminari nodded.
Michael took a deep breath before allowing his body to camouflage himself, his costume's auditory cue popping once before he vanished from sight. Once he was fully camouflaged, a small arc of electricity jumped from Chargebolt's fingers and into where Michael stood, invisible to the naked eye. Small hexagonal patches of color flashed into existence over where Farron stood, quickly disappearing into nothing again. "Well, that answers that, I suppose. Better we find out now than later." Michael muttered as he released his quirk and stretched his body.
"Everyone, head outside and line up alongside the girls. It's time to show that we are worthy of being the next generation of Heroes." Iida said, chopping his arms in the direction of the door leading outside.
The boys quickly filed out the door and made their way to the entrance of Ground Beta. Yaoyorozu's hero outfit was the first that Micheal recognized, the revealing nature of it a necessary sacrifice for her quirk. She stood at the front of their group as they talked about anything from how they expected to perform to what they thought Michael's costume would look like. A shout came from the group of girls before they all turned to look at the boys approaching them. Mina quickly slipped from the group of girls and darted towards Michael the moment she saw his costume. "It's so cool! Wait, won't you be going without your quirk if you use a costume?"
"What? No. The costume can camouflage with me."
Mina looked back in confusion towards a floating pair of gloves and boots that walked over to them. "How'd you get that?" Hagakure's voice asked.
"What do you mean? The costume designers made it, just like they made yours." Michael answered in confusion.
Michael looked back and forth between where Toru and Mina stood before swapping over to his thermal vision. "Girl, there's no way you're just walking around here, nak-" Michael's voice cut out as he slapped his hand over his eyes and looked away.
"Toru…. What the fuck?" He asked, thankful for his mask and how it blocked the red on his face.
"They just said they didn't have anything that would really keep me invisible. They must've started working on an answer for it after I submitted my request." Toru said, grabbing his jacket's hem.
"The case it came in had a little note saying that it was really new tech so that I wouldn't doubt it. You aren't cold or anything, are you?"He asked the girl as she put a glove to where her chin would be.
"Oh, It's actually pretty chilly, but I'll warm up soon, so it's no problem."
Michael just nodded as he focused back onto Mina, reminding himself of the chaos he was about to bring upon himself. "Is something wrong, Mikey?" She asked, putting her hands on his padded shoulders.
He gently grabbed her hands and ran his thumb over her soft pink skin, his glove blocking the warmth she radiated. "No, I was just looking at you. Pink, purple, white, and turquoise is quite the combo, huh?"
"Hey! It's better than being monotone." She shot back as she pointed to the mix of greys and black that made up his costume.
"Maybe it is. That white mask does really bring out your eyes after all."
Mina began to say something back when Bakugo interrupted the two by shouting, "HEY! Racoon eyes! Newbie! Get a damn room, for god's sake! You two are making me sick!"
"Oh, my deepest apologies, King Explosion Murder. I'll be sure to keep the haberdashery to an absolute minimum….Go fuck yourself, you fucking prick." Michael said with a deep bow and heavy American deep south accent.
"The fuck did you just say to me, Newbie!" Bakugo said, getting in Michael's face.
"Oh, I'm sorry. How rude of me. No wonder you couldn't hear me; my mask is still on." Michael said as he slid the gas mask up off his face before clearing his throat.
"I said… Go. Fuck. Yourself." Michael said, making sure to emphasize each word.
Iida was quick to separate the two, stepping in between them while other students pulled them further away. Before anything else could happen, the booming voice of All-Might thundered out. "Okay, kids, It's good to see all of you in costume this time. Now, let's get this show on the road and draw for your teammates. One team will have three students, so be ready." He said, holding a box with numbered balls inside.
Each student quickly reached in and took a ball before looking for their partner. Michael took a look at his ball and asked aloud, "Hey! Who's got the number seven ball?"
"Over here, Cottonmouth." Froppy said, waving him over to see Earphone Jack casually tossing the third ball with the number seven.
"Lucky number seven, huh? Well, let's see who we're up against." He said as the teams finished grouping up.
"Okay, kids, listen up! Even numbers will be the heroes, while the odds will be villains. To switch things up, heroes will be safeguarding a VIP dummy. Should the villains defeat the hero team or contact the dummy in any way, the hero team will lose. Villain teams will only lose if they are captured or held off from the VIP dummy for the fifteen-minute period allowed. Each team will have five minutes of prep time before each round starts. Teams one and two, you're up!" All-Might explained before switching on a giant monitor.
"Well, who here is on team eight?" Earphone Jack asked.
"That would be us." Creati said, Chargebolt waving to the three beside her.
"Fuck… We may actually be in trouble now." Cottonmouth said, eyeing the two and rubbing his thumb over the fern-like patterns on his jaw.
"Why, what's wrong?" The rocker asked.
"Let's get some distance from these two. Time to get a game plan together." Cottonmouth said, backing off from the two.
Once a sizeable distance had been made, Michael turned to the girls and began talking. "Kyoka, how good is your hearing? Tsuyu, how good can you camouflage?"
Froppy was the first to answer with, "Pretty well, but I'm not entirely invisible. I can also keep it up while moving around, but it's not as good."
"I can hear some really faint sounds… Could you be more specific?"
"Can you hear my heartbeat or really quiet footsteps?" He asked.
"Oh… Yeah, that should be easy, especially if you're moving around a lot. Why?"
"Because Kaminari knows that my costume has a weakness to electricity, and I'm sure he's already told Momo. So we need to make sure we hit them without them knowing we're even there."
"So, what do you think we should do?" Froppy asked.
"I want you to alternate between assaulting that building with sound and tracking all our movements. My camo is great, but I can't move fast, or it'll drop, so I need to know when one of them is close enough that I can ambush them. That's why I need you blasting your sound waves. So I can move undetected. Froppy will assault first and try to scatter them. If they refuse to budge, then she can distract them until I can get into position. Any questions, comments, or concerns?" He explained.
"So I'm just gonna stand here and just do my thing, or can I do anything else?" Jiro asked, an annoyed look on her face.
"If you wanna get up in there and throw down with Tsuyu, then go for it. I just need to be able to move in undetected. If they spot me, then I'm sure they'll just start spamming electricity until I have no choice but to stand and fight a walking taser. So if you think it'll help cause chaos or you find an opening for the hostage, then go for it."
The two girls thought it over in silence before Froppy raised a finger to her chin and asked, "So you just want me to distract them?"
"Like I told her, if you see an opening, then go for it. You both have plenty of potential to carry this entire operation and so long as you're careful enough not to get captured, then, by all means, do what you can. This is just a mockup plan, and I don't expect it to go smoothly, so just stay flexible. If we want to win this, we need to maintain speed, stealth, and violence of action. Good?"
The two girls nodded before the three of them broke away from each other. Group three and four were battling it out onscreen, while one and two were licking their wounds or celebrating victory.
Rolling his shoulders, Michael got a better feel of how the suit felt on him. The jacket's fabric was thin and slick to the touch, most likely made of waterproof fabric to function as more than just a cloaking device. The interior was insulated and had multiple soft armor inserts, padding him in key locations such as his spine. The gloves felt as if they were made of kevlar, the jacket's fabric simply layering over it. He thought back to Toru's words from earlier. This costume was most likely made for her, and he had it. It almost felt as if he had profited from her situation, leaving a bad taste in his mouth. He was eventually broken from his train of thought by someone tapping his shoulder. "Farron, while I am happy for you and Mina, I do have to agree with Bakugo that you should be a little more private in your affection." Iida said.
Looking to the speedster, he allowed his mind to settle before replying. "Look. I'm not gonna stop being sweet to her, but I'll tone it down a bit."
"Thank you, and I apologize for Bakugo's brashness. Last time we did this he nearly killed Midoriya over something he did to irk him."
"Don't. Bakugo is his own man, and if he actually has a problem with me, then he can come to settle it with me, and I doubt he'll get anywhere close to killing me."
"I see… Well, in any case, welcome to class 1-A. Good luck out there."
Michael nodded his thanks as Froppy and Earphone Jack approached him, pointing to teams five and six heading back to the entrance to the training ground. "Looks like we're up. Are you ready?" Jiro asked.
Cottonmouth slid the gas mask back into place, the dark lense hiding his eyes from view as his breath hissed through the filters. Once the seal had been restored, he looked back to his teammates and gave a silent nod as he twirled his nightsticks with malicious intent.
