A/N: This one takes place after Kelly leaves Michelle to talk to Sam after they pick up Klaus. In chapter 21 of Caught in the Crossfire.

Chapter 19: Stop Snooping!

"I'm not much of a matchmaker.
I think people have to make their own choices and mistakes and all that stuff"
- Luke Perry

Klaus went into the house freely, seemingly unconcerned with the events that were unfolding. So far he'd been mostly quiet, talking to himself more frequently than to Michelle or I on the ride back. I had expected him to be more upset, not only about the apocalypse but also about being abandoned by Five. He was thankfully taking both in stride. Dean, on the other hand, was muttering about me dragging him inside and away from his own brother. As Klaus moved into the living room and made himself comfortable on the couch, I turned to Dean.

"You play nice and stay inside. Sammy needs some privacy. Got it?"

He looked confused for a second, pointing at the door, then turning back to me, "Privacy? Michelle is out there."

"Did he not tell you what happened?' I rolled my eyes at his blank expression. "Of course he didn't. Eric spilled the beans about his feelings for Michelle. So,that's happening out there."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously. So stay in." He moved to peek out the windows and I pulled him back by the back of his coat. "And don't be weird about it. Come meet Klaus."

"Klaus? Really?"

I pulled him after me into the living room, where Jane was talking with Klaus. Gambit and Spike were standing nearby. I assumed Chloe and Derek were sleeping. Eric was unaccounted for and I silently hoped he would show up with more beds. We needed them.

Jane turned to me. "Is this one injured. He was talking to himself. And not in the way you talk to yourself."

I rolled my eyes at her comment. I still occasionally found myself walking into walls when not paying attention. Talking to myself happened more frequently, but wasn't sure that was entirely a byproduct of my ghostly years.

"Everyone, meet Klaus. He can speak to ghosts. Klaus, meet everyone."

"Wait, back up. This one's a human Ouija board?" Dean looked highly skeptical.

"It's okay, you don't have to be afraid of ghosts." Klaus looked earnestly back at Dean. "Besides the only one here is my brother. Who will not shut up" He turned to the empty space beside him, "I don't know why you're so worried about Five. He left us. These seem like nice people."

"So, your brother is here but a ghost? How come he didn't become human again like Kelly?" Dean turned to me and I shrugged.

"Am I supposed to be an expert on all things ghost?"

"Okay," he relented, "and what does Five mean?"

"Five is my arrogant brother who abandoned me when we got here. Typical."

I explained everything that had happened at Bobby's to the group. Jane excused herself for bed after she was satisfied Klaus wasn't completely unstable. As Klaus settled in, Gambit and Spike offered to play cards with him in the kitchen, probably happy for a new person to practice their cheating on. I followed them into the kitchen while listening to Klaus hit on Gambit, who flirted back. I was coming back from the kitchen with beers when I caught Dean peeking out the window again.

"You know you look super creepy right now, right?"

Dean stepped back from the window and walked towards me taking the beer I held out. "My little Sammy boy is growin' up."

"Please promise me you won't be weird about this with Michelle. Because if you're weird about it, she'll overthink it, and hurt your 'little Sammy'."

"She better not hurt him."

I rolled my eyes. "They're both adults Dean."

"Are they though?"

"Are you?"

He pulled me towards him resting a hand on my ass, "I'm very much an adult."

"Hmm. So why don't you and I go do some very adult things, and leave those two alone then, okay?"

"Can't argue with that. But seriously, she hurts him-"

I pulled him into a kiss to shut him up.
