With the crowd still reacting to the loss, the arrival of the new competitors got the crowd ready for the next battle.
"Well, after our first tie of the games, these next two competitors won't settle for anything less I bet!" Chopati Lola announced.
"Absolutely, with Elfman and Bacchus getting a rematch for the first time since 791. Bacchus will be looking to settle the score. While Elfman is hoping to go two-for-two against Bacchus" Mr. Yajima said.
Elfman walked onto the field, himself like Orga before, a mountain of a man, like someone who could bench press a mountain range with one hand.
Meanwhile, Bacchus stumbled onto the field, visibly drunk. Of course, this was of no surprise to no one. His drunkenness helped to dull his senses to pain, while making his moves unpredictable.
As the two faced each other, waiting for the fight to start they couldn't help but grin, eager for their rematch as they began to exchange some banter.
"Starting out drunk this time? Not man enough to fight me sober?" Elfman said in a tease.
"That's just wild man, I'm just going 100% from the start. I wildly underestimated you last time" Bacchus said, followed by, "and man, did you look like you've improved since then".
"Manly, well I won't hold back either" Elfman said as he nodded, ready to begin the fight.
Mato ran up to both the wizards, "don't forget you only have thirty minutes to win this battle" Mato said, emphasizing the time after the previous tie. He quipped in one line just before the gong sounded, "and please don't destroy the arena, we still have one more battle".
Both wizards laughed heartily as the short mascot ran off the arena to make room for them to fight.
"Now time for some revenge of the drunk chop hanging palm" Bacchus shouted as he landed a punch by leading with his palm right on Elfman's left shoulder. This knocked the mountain that was Elfman Strauss back a couple of feet.
"Not bad, but let's follow that up with a manly punch!" as Elfman used a right hook to land a hit right to Bacchus's chest.
By now, the fist fight was on. Bacchus landed another palm hit on Elfman's chest, stomach, and head. While Elfman managed to get in an uppercut, a left hook that he faked with a right. Finally, he began blocking Bacchus's palm attacks. This ordeal had gone on for only five minutes before Bacchus already began to look somewhat weary.
"Alright, this has been wild man, but let's take things up a notch" he said as he grabbed a bottle-like object that was on his belt.
"Time for some wild shots!" he said, guzzling the bottle down.
The members in Quattro Cerberus grinned with eagerness, and shouted, "wild!"
"Well, if you're going to power up, I might as well power up too. Time for beast soul!" Elfman shouted as he began to change into a massive lizard beast, covered from top to bottom with scales.
Bacchus shook his head, "not this trap again" he said, chuckling, "well good for me I've been taking stronger alcohol".
As Bacchus said this, he unleashed a barrage of attacks on Elfman, all from his drunk hanging palm. Except this time was different.
After the fifth hit, Elfman connected an uppercut to Bacchus and knocked him clear across the arena!
"Wow folks, Elfman isn't just a punching bag anymore! This time the punching bag fights bag" Chopati Lola announced utterly amazed by this turn around.
"That's just wild man, luring me into that trap like that" Bacchus said, grinning, himself amazed how he allowed himself into Elfman's trap.
"There's more manly punches where that came from!" Elfman retorted as he charged at Bacchus again.
Once again, they were at it, trading punch after punch. One or the other trying a leg sweeping kick to knock the other off balance.
After one big punch from both, they jumped back, panting, seemingly unable to get the upper hand on the other.
"I'll be finishing this, beast soul, cheetah beast!" Elfman said as he transformed again, this time going from the massive scaly lizard to some combination of a cheetah and a horned beast.
Bacchus was already fast due to his magic and the unpredictable movements due to his alcohol consumption, but in this form, Elfman was a blur to even the best trained eye.
Elfman let out a barrage of attacks and punches, Bacchus tried desperately to block or even launch a counterattack, but he was quickly overwhelmed.
The final blow was one last strong punch, that sent him flying into one of the walls of the arena. Bacchus fell from the wall as the crowd gasped in shock at how Elfman overpowered Bacchus at the end.
"That was wild, man," Bacchus said in defeat, as Elfman raised his fist and let out a roar, only to revert to his human form, looking as though he had gone to war with all the injuries he sustained.
"With that overpowering win, Fairy Tail team B nets ten points for today with an amazing rematch against Bacchus!" Chopati Lola said, as the crowd began to roar its approval.
"This may have been a great battle, but I'm willing to let our next battle with Erza and Kagura!" Mr. Yajima said with excitement. Elfman and Bacchus were cleared from the field by the medical staff and rushed to their respective team infirmaries. This left the field open for the two ladies to take the field.
Erza Scarlet and Kagura Mikazuchi, are both the top female powers in their guilds. Both had something to prove and yet, knew that because it was each other they were fighting, they could trust each other.
Erza had already changed into the armor she wanted to use. Her flame red pants and tape bra, combined with two sheathed swords, one by her left and one by her right.
Kagura was in her normal attire, her elegant clothing combining many things of eastern culture together. She was also packing two swords, her arch enemy sword. It served as a reminder of the battles she had faced and the ones she will face. The other sword, having not been named, was on her right and was ready for battle.
The ladies met Mato in the center to be reminded of the thirty-minute time limit for the battle. By now the sun was beginning to get low in the sky, bathing the arena in a beautiful golden glow for the evening's golden hour for what many would think was the golden battle.
The gong sounded and the girls charged at each other, each grabbing the sword on their right. They quickly parried their opponents' attack and began an intense stare down as their swords matched themselves locked in combat.
They quickly jumped back, grinning as they each knew their opponent's next move.
"Not bad, you've improved since the war" Erza said, complimenting Kagura.
"You've improved even more, Erza," Kagura said. Their eyes again locked on each other as they began to charge again.
The sword fight was immense, intense, and awe inspiring even though it seemed like both ladies were holding back somehow.
They continued to charge at each other, slashing and clanging their swords until they finally seemed to wait long enough as they jumped back.
"Are you going to use magic against me, or will you continue to insult me?" Erza said, as if to antagonize Kagura to push herself harder.
"I was wondering when you were going to ask!" Kagura responded, putting her unenchanted sword away. A rumbling could be heard from the ground as the ladies pulled their true swords out.
"The magic power in the arena is hitting unbelievable levels!" Chopati Lola said.
"Over 9,000 if we want to be exact," Mr. Yajima said.
An aura seemed to surround both ladies, as if the world seemed to revolve around them and them alone.
This time they moved so fast as if to defy the movement of light itself! The clanging of swords echoed throughout the arena as the crowd oohed and gasped in amazement.
Then, Kagura pulled out her own trump card, and began to change the gravity in the arena with her gravity change magic.
She leaped into the air with surprising ease, while Erza struggled to stand under the gravity Kagura put her under.
Erza feigned weakness as she began to change her armor to her flight armor. Erza then leaped into the air, this change overwhelmed Kagura, who lost her concentration as Erza swung the blunt end of her sword down on Kagura.
With a loud yelp, Kagura was knocked down to earth. As Erza landed beside Kagura, she helped Kagura up and hugged her.
"I concede this fight to Erza!" Kagura said as the two ladies embraced each other.
The crowd cheered their approval of the incredible fight they just witnessed.
"With that incredible battle, Fairy Tail team A continues their sweep of the games with ten points!" Chopati Lola said.
Erza and Kagura carried each other off the field, to the cheers of everyone.
"A great battle indeed, maybe even the best of the games" Mr. Yajima said.
"With that, let's see how the points shake up for everyone," Chopati Lola said.
1st Fairy Tail team A 80 points
2nd Fairy Tail team B 76 points
3rd Lamia Scale 56 points
4th Blue Pegasus 43 points
5th Alvarez Guild 43 points
6th Saber Tooth 41 points
7th Crime Sorciere 40 points
8th Mermaid Heel 29 points
9th Quattro Cerberus 7 points
10th Twilight Ogre 5 points.
After the incredible battles of day four the golden hour turned to dusk, with the festivities over most everyone was filing out of the arena to celebrate in the town.
Of course, some people stayed behind, these were mostly the guild wizards who tended to their comrades' injuries in their respective infirmaries.
Of those who stayed behind were three people in the Fairy Tail team B suite, it was Terre Mere, Romeo, and Gabriel. They stared at each other in silence thinking about the new opportunity that was going to happen for their friend.
"So, will Zeldris be on the team tomorrow?" Romeo said, breaking the silence. .
"Yes," Gabriel murmured quietly.
"Any clue on what you think he'll do?" Terre Mere asked, as if trying to make the situation more positive.
Romeo and Gabriel looked at each other with concern. As if trying not to state the obvious, which only annoyed Terre Mere.
"So, you two are just going to jump to the obvious and expect the worst?" Terre Mere huffed as she folded her arms.
"Well, considering I'm sure he has a chip on his shoulder from not being selected before, I fear a repeat of Tenroe is on the cards" Romeo said.
"How can you say that!" Terra Mere said furiously, stomping the hell of her shoe into the stone, "how can you say that about someone you call your best friend!"
Romeo and Gabriel again shared a glance of worry and shame.
"It's not like we aren't right!" Romeo said, finally snapping back in response to his optimistic girlfriend.
Gabriel then added, "it's not like it hasn't happened before, from what Zeldris said and what you two shared about what happened on Tenroe, if he is to face someone that has looked down on him in the past. We can only hope Master Makarov's teachings will keep him calm" he said ominously.
Terre Mere frowned and then began to concede to her friends, "well, maybe if we talk to him and calm him down perhaps?"
Romeo then shrugged, "that might work, we can only hope".
Gabriel then said, "that is we can find him" looking concerned.
"Well, maybe he went to the infirmary to be checked up, or saw Elfman and Erza's battles and wanted to be there by their sides?" Terre Mere said, trying to be chipper.
"Especially to check up on his mommy Erza" Gabriel said rather mockingly.
Terre Mere let out a quick blush and a chuckle with a quick glance to Romeo before joining Romeo in giving Gabriel a death glare for his friendly jab at their friend.
"Well, whether there or not, we still should go down there and see what the damage is," Romeo said.
