Thirty minutes passed before the trio walked into the infirmary where Erza sat on one bed, heavily bandaged but in good spirits. In the other bed was Elfman who was resting. He was covered in bandages as well, surrounded by his sisters and members of the Thunderlegion.
Erza was the first to acknowledge the trio of Zeldris's friends as she waved for them to come over to her.
"I take it you three are looking for Zeldris?" Erza tried to remain chipper, but she could tell they were concerned.
"How's Elfman doing?" Romeo asked, as if somehow hoping he would recover.
Elfman slowly raised up, "I'm out of it kid, Zeldris will have to go in tomorrow". The trio sighed in their acknowledgement and nodded.
"You're worried about Zeldris aren't you?" Erza said, looking downcast.
"Yes, we're worried about what will happen tomorrow during the games when he competes in the event," Gabriel said.
Erza then said ominously, "I'm also fairly certain that he will be competing in the battle round for the two-on-two fights". The three wizards looked at each other in concern at Erza's words.
"We're going to talk to him about that possibility and ensure he restrains himself," Romeo said as the three looked at Erza.
"I will talk to him about it too. I feel I might get through to him," Erza said comfortingly.
"I will also speak to him," Master Makarov said as he entered the room.
The trio of Zeldris's friends turned around in surprise.
"That's comforting," Romeo said.
"Have either of you seen Zeldris?" asked Terre Mere as she added, "we haven't seen him since the start of the battles".
"Well, he will probably be back at the inn by tonight" Master Makarov said as he turned and left the infirmary room.
The rest of the evening itself was uneventful. With beautiful weather many of the citizens of Crocus and competitors from the games were having a wonderful time.
As for Zeldris, after finding out neither he nor the one he wanted to see were not competing in the games that day. He decided to go and take her out for a nice dinner and to watch the games. He was amazed by all the battles and cheered for his guild and teammates as did the lady.
When he returned to the Honey Bone Inn, it was quiet, too quiet. The only people he saw were first master Mavis, Gray, and Juvia. When he looked over to them, Mavis glared at him as though he had committed the worst crimes against humanity. It sent chills down Zeldris's spine as he hurried up the stairs to his room unsure of what he did wrong.
Those that wanted to talk to him did, all of which had the same message, "don't go overboard in the games, and only match the strength of those against him". No one knew how ominous that might be.
When morning broke a damp humidity hung in the air. Some rain showers had passed through during the night. Gabriel, Romeo, Terre Mere tried to find Zeldris, to wake him up in time to make it to Domas Flau before noon. They entered his room expecting to find him asleep but he was nowhere to be seen.
"Crap, where do you think he is?" Romeo asked, as they all looked in panic at each other. As everyone was in a panic, trying to figure out where he was, Erza walked in, still in her sleep attire.
"Oh, you three are looking for Zeldris?" Erza asked, as the trio of Zeldris's concerned friends nodded.
"He's already at Domas Flau, he wanted to get there early, I saw him walking out just as the rain was ending" Erza said as the trio breathed a sigh of relief.
"We should probably go and find him regardless," Gabriel said.
"But not before we get dressed, I'm not going to be seen by anyone other than my sweet Romeo in this getup!" Terre Mere huffed. Erza and Gabriel looked at each other dumb founded but didn't say a word.
It was 11 AM when Gabriel, Romeo, and Terre Mere arrived at the team B suite, where Zeldris sat looking relaxed as he sipped on a glass of water.
"Oh, hey you three," Zeldris said as he waved to his friends.
"I'm surprised you're up early," Romeo said.
"Oh yeah, I just wanted to get here early, so I was ready to compete for today," Zeldris said cheerfully.
"I see, well, you'll compete so long as the event suits you" Laxus said as he entered the suite.
"You're not a lock for today, even if you are one of our last members" he finished.
Zeldris nodded before asking, "how is Elfman? I saw Erza this morning".
"He's recovering just fine, we checked on him this morning," Freed said as he walked into the suite. Everyone else that was on the team or were a reserve or stayed in the suite filed in behind Freed. An unease was in the air for the Fairy Tail teams as both were entering the potential unknown.
