I was laying on top of Dean, my head against his bare chest, absentmindedly drawing the infinity symbol with my finger over his tattoo. It was the first time we'd been together since he nearly said yes. The first time we'd been alone since Zach told me Dean was only with me out of guilt. I'd tried to push down the worry, but now, in the quiet of the Impala, the thoughts came creeping back as they often did these days. Dean ran his fingers down my back, before resting his hand on my ass. I continued my infinity pattern, eyes closed.

"You okay?" his voice was gentle, almost sounding half asleep. I stayed silent, not sure what to say. Dean shifted under me, using his other hand to tilt my chin up to look at him. "You're quiet tonight."

I searched his eyes, seeing genuine worry behind them. "I had a dream about Zach. Probably the same night you killed him."

"Great. What did that douche have to say?"

"He thanked me."

Dean's expression changed to shock, "he thanked you?"

"Yeah, for making you feel guilty."

His shock changed to genuine confusion, "what?"

I took a deep breath and looked back at my hand, resuming my tracing on his chest. "He said my presence. The vessels. Our relationship. All of it heaped guilt on you. Enough to break you. Make you say yes. Said you were only with me out of guilt, because you felt responsible for me being here. Thanked me because all that guilt would push you to say yes."

Dean snorted, and moved my face to look at him again, his eyebrows raised. "He was lying."

"I know you feel responsible."

"We did kind of kick start the apocalypse but I'm not with you out of guilt. I'm with you because I want to be."

I smiled and moved up to kiss him. It was tender and slow. I pulled back after a few moments, looking down at him, running my hand down the side of his face gently.

"Thank you, for understanding my crazy."

"Not crazy. Those angel dicks can get in your head. Makes me really happy I killed him."

I moved back to laying on his chest, ready to change the topic. I thought of my conversation earlier with Michelle, about making plans for a life here if we all survived this.

"So, when we avert this apocalypse. What do you want to do after?"

"Take a well-earned vacation."

"You? Take a vacation? I can't see that."

"We'll take a vacation. Go somewhere warm. You can wear short shorts and I'll rock a Hawaiian shirt. Get fruity drinks with the umbrellas. The whole nine yards."

I raised an eyebrow, "you have a Hawaiian shirt?"

"Yeah, just never had a reason to wear it!"

"Can I veto the shirt?"

"Nope. Package deal." He grinned and lightly slapped my ass playfully.

"Okay fine. And what about Sam?"

"Sam can stay here. Let him and Michelle work out whatever the hell they need to work out."

I laughed at that, "or kill each other."

"Also a possibility. Anyway, no downers on the vacation."

I moved, folding my arms across his chest, resting my chin on my arms. "I don't think you physically have it in you to take time off. Probably end up finding a Rugaru or something else to hunt."

"Shut up. Aren't you the one who is the monster magnet?"

I playfully slapped him at that, "rude. Guess it's a good thing I can't seem to get rid of you then, huh?"

"Nope. Sorry sweetheart, you're stuck with me now."

I woke up in the Impala, the early morning sun streaming through the windows. I lifted my head and could see dew drops glistening on the black hood. I considered trying to fall back asleep but realized I was already too awake. I debated waking Dean up, but he was snoring and looked too peaceful to disturb, even for morning sex. He probably would have disagreed with my choice on the matter. I shifted off of him and silently dressed. I threw the blanket back over him, and slid out of the backseat, gently closing the car door behind me.

I stretched, my body stiff from sleeping in the car. As I cracked my neck I realized our car wasn't back in the driveway and smiled. Michelle must have spent the night at the motel, which meant the conversation with Sam went well. Hopefully really well. She could use the stress relief. I headed into the house, appreciating the absolute silence. It was that rare golden hour, where the vampires were in for the day, and everyone else was still asleep. It must have been around 6 am, if not earlier. I wandered into the kitchen and started a pot of coffee, finding my phone charging on the counter. I flipped it open and sent Michelle a quick message to check-in. I was not surprised when I heard her phone chirp in the living room. For all her measures to protect herself and this house, she regularly forgot to keep her phone on her when leaving. I sighed, texting Sam a message to have Michelle call me when they woke up and pocketed my phone.

I was pouring my coffee as Dean came in, wrapping his arms around me from behind and kissing my neck. I smiled again, enjoying this first private morning for us, "mmm, good morning."

"This house quiet, you to myself, and fresh coffee? Did we wake up in bizarro world?"

"Shh, don't jinx us."

He moved around me, grabbing a mug and pouring himself a coffee. We headed to the living room with our coffees and settled in on the couch. I grinned at him over the brim of my mug, "looks like Mish never came back last night."

Dean smiled, "that's my boy!"

My phone chirped then and I saw a message from Sam as if on cue. My smile faded quickly as I read the text: "what are you talking about?"

I turned to Dean, "did you tell Sam that Michelle was headed his way?"

"What? No. I haven't talked to him since I left the motel. You didn't tell me she was even going to see him till I got here."

"Fuck"

I quickly called Sam, who picked up after barely one ring. "Michelle never showed up there?"

"No, was she supposed to?" He sounded half asleep and bitter.

"She was headed your way around the same time Dean left you. Last night."

"Kelly, she never showed. Fuck."

Dean was sitting alert and he took the phone from my hand, putting it on speaker. "Do you see their car in the lot?"

We could hear Sam moving around the room before saying a tight "no."

Panic was bubbling in my chest now, "where could she have gone? Fuck! She doesn't even have her phone on her."

Dean looked at me, clearly unimpressed at that. "Are you certain she was really going to see Sam? What if she went to say yes to Lucifer?"

I did not appreciate the implication that I didn't know my best friend, and levelled a look back at him. "Yes Dean, I'm sure she went to see Sam. She's not stupid enough to want to say yes."

His face fell at the saying yes comment before recovering, "so where could she have gone? Did you give her the right place?"

I was about to reply with more sass for assuming I didn't know basic directions when Sam spoke up, "there's only a few motels in this area. I can grab a car and check the ones on this side of town. Dean, can you take the west end?"

"On it." Dean hung up the phone and passed it back to me. "You stay here in case she shows up. Sam and I will check through town."

I felt my breathing picking up, close to hyperventilating. "Dean, what if something took her? Got her? What if-"

He grabbed me by the shoulders, staring intensely into my eyes. "We'll find her. She knows how to protect herself. You left a gun in the car, right?"

"Always." I didn't add that I wasn't certain if Michelle knew about it though.

He stood, pulling me up with him. "We will find her. Maybe have Jane scout the immediate area? She probably has the tracking skills."

"And what should I do?"

Dean was already headed to the door, car keys in hand. "Stay here and think of anywhere she could have gone. Anything weird she might have said last night. Call me if anything clicks, and especially if she comes back." He looked back at me and must have seen the pure panic on my face. He closed the gap between us, pulling me into a hug. "It's going to be okay. Sam and I will bring her home."

I nodded weakly and watched as he jogged to the Impala. Once he pulled away I snapped out of my frozen panic and took the stairs two at a time to the bedroom. I found Jane asleep in our room, with Gambit. I prayed the blanket covered me seeing anything I didn't want to. Jane woke up easily, following me to the hall. I filled her in on the situation and she took off down the stairs without hesitation. I went next to the room that Derek stayed in. Waking up a moody sleeping teenage werewolf was not something I wanted to do, but Dean's comment about tracking skills had given me an idea. I shook Derek awake, ready to jump back if he lashed out. Luckily, he was just grumpy. "Derek, I need your help. Michelle's missing. Can you help track her?"

That got him up a lot faster, but also woke up Five and Klaus in the process. They were all in to help search. I wasn't too sure what our motley crew of supernatural beings could do, but I felt a lot better about our chances to bring Michelle home. I wished I could wake the vampires, particularly Eric, but prayed we'd find her before night.
