Chapter 30: Doing the Right Thing (Kelly's POV)

"In any moment of decision,
the best thing you can do is the right thing.
The worst thing you can do is nothing."
― Theodore Roosevelt

I looked at the paper in my hand, Gabriel's handwriting was surprisingly beautiful. It was coordinates, reminding me that John used to leave the boys coordinates. Apparently an army thing. I had no idea how to read them but assumed Bobby would be able to give me a location quickly. The line rang again, a sound grating to me. I'd already tried calling Dean and Sam multiple times only to click through to voicemail every time. I was about to hang up in frustration when Bobby's voice came booming down the line, "yeah?"

"Hey, Bobby." My voice sounded strained, even to myself. "Have you heard from the boys?"

"No, but that's not unusual. I assumed they were with you. Why?"

"Gabriel was here."

"Balls."

"Yeah, he actually came to drop off a vessel. Said he was off to save the boys, and now they're not answering their damned phones."

"What have those idjits gotten themselves into now?"

"I don't know." There was a long beat of silence between us, "Gabe gave us something else though. I need your help with some coordinates."

I rattled off the numbers on the paper, Bobby listened silently. "Why is an archangel giving you coordinates anyhow?"

"It's the location of another vessel. Wants us to get them, said he didn't have the time."

"Don't tell me you're going off to get them yourselves?" I stayed silent and heard another muttered "balls" before Bobby continued. "You girls shouldn't leave that house. You don't know what this vessel could be."

"It could be a kid Bobby. We can't leave them alone and scared. We're kind of out of options on who else can go...unless you've heard from Cas?"

"No." I heard a sound across the line like Bobby was shuffling the phone to another ear, "if anything happens to you two-"

I cut him off, "we're going to be careful. In and out."

"Don't do anything stupid."

"That's the goal."

"Give me a few and I'll get you an address."

"Thanks, is Giles around? I need to talk to him."

I quickly connected with Giles, asking him to come by the house to help backup Jane on keeping everyone in line. He handed the phone back to Bobby who gave me an address in Kansas.

"Kelly, I know you and Michelle think you know this world, but don't take any stupid risks. You know the boys, they'll kill themselves with guilt."

I nodded, before remembering he couldn't see me, "I know. We'll be safe. If you hear from the boys, tell them to call us. Immediately."
