A year has passed since the death of Izuku Midoriya. In a rainy day, the Bakugo family accompany a devastated Inko Midoriya into the cemetery. Eventually, they arrive: Izuku's grave is in front of their watery eyes. Inko can't do anything but sobbing in her friend Mitsuki's chest, while Masaru leaves some flowers on top of the tomb. Katsuki successfully reprehends his tears as much as he can, but there's a limit for everyone:
- Come on Inko –said Mitsuki- let's go home.
- Son, are you coming? –softly told Masaru to his child with his hand on his shoulder.
- I'll catch you later
With that, the three adults left the place, leaving Bakugo alone in front of the grave. With no one around, he could finally unleash all his emotions by dropping onto his knees and crying so much that he couldn't differenciate the tears from the raindrops:
- I'm sorry. I know it's useless now, but I really want you to forgive me De-...Izuku.
Katsuki whipes his tears with his already wet sleeve, stands up and recomposes:
- You know what? I've already started going to UA. It's fantastic, I'm sure you would have loved it there. Remember I told you last week I would try to be friendlier? Well, I've made some friends. Some shitty extras that follow me, you'd love them, that's for sure.
Bakugo is slightly smiling; a smile emerged from a mixture of sadness and happiness. He decides that it's time to go, so he leaves the cemetery as a strange figure watches him from behind some trees.
In the other side of the city, some students –no more than 10- are protesting in front of Aldera Junior High, reclaiming for the death of Izuku and the inaction of the school. They carry signs and posters covered by their umbrellas, while some student yells through a megaphone. All of a sudden, the principal comes from inside the building and into the protesters, to try and calm them down, unsuccessfully:
- Please, we have a teachers meeting. Don't interrupt us. Just... go home.
With that said, he enters the building back and closes the doors behind him. He walks through a corridor until arriving to the teachers' lounge, where everyone is already seated in a round table, waiting for him:
- Excuse me, but these protesters get me on my nerves –said the principal while removing his jacket and placing it on the chair.
- You tell me –speaks the one who as Izuku's teacher-. I'm the one getting the most hate. That kid's ruined my life.
- And haven't you thought that maybe you ruined his? –confronts him another teacher in the opposite side of the table.
- Don't come now to me with moral discussions, you know you are as responsible for this as I am. We were all conscious about the situation, but we just let it be. So don't try to feel better about yourself by making me feel bad.
- Okay, now's not the time for discussing this –the principal says trying to calm them down-. Let's focus on the main subject of today: the sports tournament with the neighbour schools next month.
He takes some papers that he has in front of him, gives them a tap with the table in order to arrange them. After that, he proceeds to take one and pass the rest to the companion next to him, who repeats the process:
- Now, if you look at page 1-
Everything explodes.
The entire school crushes down with an immense and loud explosion that kills everyone inside and causing some accidents in some bystanders. The Bakugos and Inko, not far from there here the explosion and turn around immediately and run towards the direction of the sound.
When they arrive, all they see is the debris of the school. Katsuki jumps into action and tries to look for any possible survivor, but all in vain: no one's survived. In the distance the sound of the fire truck can be listened.
Everyone there watches with fear the scene, wondering who could have caused this. The police, who came not long after, started interrogating all the protesters, because they were the main suspects for an act like this one. Little they knew the culprit would be just watching them from the distance on top of another building.
