Again, if you enjoy this then please consider giving it a follow or a fav. It helps me want to make more since Hilda fanfics aren't the most popular

Also, do give a review if possible. I'd like to know how i did.

Enjoy

"It looks like the Woffs are migrating" said Hilbert as he prepared a bag with some of his creations inside while taking glanced at the window

"Yeah" said Johanna with a downcast expression as she approached her children. "*sigh* I've been thinking about those threats"

"I'm working on that and Hilbert's helping too" said Hilda with a little bit of uncertainty in her voice. A guilty expression grew on Hilbert's face as he heard that, she didn't know that it was hopeless in the end

"I know, but all this trouble made me realize that we're the only people for miles in the this whole valley" said Johanna with a downcast expression

"But that's what we love about it" commented Hilda before turning to her sibling "right, Hilbert?"

"Yeah, i don't think the people in the city would appreciate the explosions i occasionally cause" said Hilbert with a weak smile, knowing that he could probably find a way to muffle them or make them elsewhere

"But wouldn't you like other kids to talk to?" Asked Johanna with concern

"I have myself to talk to, and Twig, and Spark...and Hilbert when we occasionally argue" said Hilda stealing a short glance at her brother as she said the last part "see, we're okay"

"Let's take a small trip to Trollberg tomorrow" said Johanna getting an instant refusal from Hilda "all i ask is for you to keep an open mind"

Hilda calmed down as a downcast expression spread across her face. She then suddenly felt her head itch, she scartched it for a second before asking in confusion

"Why is my head so itchy?"

"Let me check" said Johanna in slight concern as she checked Hilda's hair "oh, it's nittens"

Hilbert ignored the whole thing and dejectedly headed to bed, but soon enough; Johanna noticed how dispirited he was

"Hilbert, are you okay? You've been awfully quiet." Said Johanna, concern clear in her voice

"Yeah, I'm...I'm fine" said Hilbert dejectedly as he slowly covered himself in his blanket "just tired"

"Don't worry, everything's going to be alright" said Johanna with a soft smile as she ruffled her son's hair "life in the city isn't that bad. It might grow on you and who knows, maybe you'll make some friends"

Hilbert didn't answer he just forced his eyes shut and covered his ears with his pillow, trying to ignore everything

"Well, i brought my old Trollberg guidebook for tomorrow. Maybe you could check it out on the trip" said Johanna with a weak smile as she placed a small guidebook near the room's lamp. She then turned to Hilda and asked "Hilda, are you alright now?"

"Yeah, my head's not so itchy now" said Hilda despondently as she crawled into bed

Johanna gave the two a smile before turning off the light and leaving the room. As soon as Johanna left, Hilda sat in her bed and spoke

"Hilbert, you better not be giving up already." Said Hilda in disgruntlement from her sibling's attitude

"I'm not" said Hilbert dejectedly as he tried to ignore her more. It was hopeless, a giant was much more than he could handle and if he changed things; they might just end up worse than they're supposed to be

"You don't sound that confident" said Hilda with a frown

"Just leave me alone."

Hilda went silent with a deep scowl. She was furious, 'how could he just give up now?! They still have a chance!' Ran through her mind. She stayed awake pondering that...until a large shadow passed by their room's window

Hilda immediately noticed the shadow and headed to the window, attracting the attention of Hilbert who was also awake at the time.

"Hilda?" Hilbert called out as Hilda grabbed her notebook and headed to the window again. Hilbert got out of bed to try and talk to her...but she went outside through the window "Hilda!"

Call it whatever you want, Hilbert knew his sister was about to do something stupid and he couldn't stop her nor did he have the power or bravery needed to follow her. So he ran towards a box that was in his room and pulled out a drone that had a camera and a screen and a controller that both of those things as well.

Hilbert activated the drone and used it to follow Hilda using the controller.

"Hilda! What are you doing?!" Asked Hilbert angrily through the controller's microphone

"I saw the giant again" said Hilda with a determined look as she stood on the giant's shoulder

"Then why are you on their shoulder?" Asked Hilbert as he covered himself in his blanket

"I want to know why they've been coming here lately" said Hilda with a determined look before glaring at the drone "and if you want to stop me, get out of that blanket and tell me that yourself!"

"But it's cold!...and we're in the middle of the night!"

Hilda ignored him and called for the giant before heading to the giant's ear. Hilbert stopped the drone when he saw that

He didn't want to mess with this conversation, it was only recently that the realization was catching up to him that one mistake could mean that one of them gets stomped by the giant on accident...and it would all be his fault.

Hilbert flew the drone back home and went to bed; deciding that there was no point in risking everything for nothing.

Hilda made her way back to her room quietly, not wanting to wake up her mother. She saw that Hilbert had went to sleep. She scowled the moment she saw that.

Hilda couldn't believe how uncooperative her brother was at times. Too cold, too late at night, it was as if he needed everything to go his way or he'd refuse to take a step away from the house! And now he's giving up on their home, the house they grew up in, just like that! It infuriated her to no end.

Hilda went to bed determined to keep them in their home all on her own, no matter what.

"Okay, now this is interesting." Said Hilda as she sat in the car with Hilbert and Johanna "it says here that Trollberg was built smack in the middle of land that belonged to trolls"

"That's why they built this wall; to keep the trolls out" said Johanna with a smile as she gestured to the walls of Trollberg

"*sigh* city people are no fun" said Hilda, deflating at Johanna's words

"It's more along the lines of 'they don't want to die or live in constant fear of death'" commented Hilbert as he made quotations marks with his hands, gaining a glare from Hilda "what? I barely said anything"

Hilda didn't answer and just scowled. Hilbert shrugged and the family continued on into Trollberg

"That one's available" said Johanna with a smile as she pointed at one of the houses before looking at a pamphlet in her hand "parking, pets okay, close to park and three bedrooms, sounds perfect. You two can finally have separate bedrooms."

"Not bad...i guess?" said Hilbert as he stared at the house. It wasn't the same house from the show, his mere existence prompted his mother to find a different house, a bigger one with three bedrooms and a big roof for him to make and charge his stuff. He stole a glance at his mother, she put his hobbies into so much consideration when choosing the house without choosing something extreme that it's making him feel a bit guilty.

"Are you kidding me?!" Said Hilda expressing her displeasure as she glowered at Hilbert before inspecting it's sides "we'd be trapped in a house sandwich!"

"As long as i have enough space to do my thing, I can live with it"

"Of course you'd like it, you never leave the house anyway" said Hilda with venom in her voice as a deep frown took place on her face

Hilbert rolled his eyes and ignored her as Johanna decided to go and check out the school

_-_-_

"This could be your school" said Johanna cheerfully as she gestured to the school's playground "go ahead explore the playground"

"Fine, but I'll keep a low profile." Said Hilda in a serious tone as she entered the playground

"Hilbert" Johanna called out to her son who didn't move a bit from his spot

"I can't, it's...scary." Said Hilbert as he shrunk away from the playground nervously before instinctively held Johanna's hand "can i stay here with you?"

"*sigh* why not" said Johanna with a smile

Hilbert relaxed a little when he heard that...but soon, he felt someone staring at him. He turned around and saw who it is. It was a girl with velvet red hair.

Hilbert saw her take a small glance at Hilda, but that was it, she didn't look at her again, she was mainly focused on him. It was odd; usually one would be more interested in the entering the playground other than her brother who's staying with their mom.

Hilbert couldn't remember her from the show, but to be fair; he didn't remember much of it anyway. Regardless, she found HIM weirded than whatever Hilda was doing.

The two quickly snapped out of their staring contest when the school bell rang and soon enough, Hilda returned.

The trio returned home that night peacefully without any trouble
