Please, fav or follow if you enjoy. Hilda fics aren't very popular and it would really help if you do.

Also, do give a review if possible. I'd like to know how i did.

"Those poor Trollberg kids live in fear of bells, not Trolls" said Hilda as she pet Twig

"No, they don't. It's just a school bell, it's pretty normal" replied Johanna with a smile

"*sigh* the thing i hated the most was the number of other kids" added Hilbert with a frown "i forgot how scary socializing with people my age can be."

"Forgot? But you've never met other kids before" asked Johanna as she lightly scratched her head in confusion

Hilbert was quickly sent into an internal panic, but before he could say a thing; Woodman invited himself into the house, collecting everyone's attention to Hilbert's relief.

"Ugh, you let the Woodman in again." Said Johanna, clearly displeasured by the sight of Woodman casually entering the house.

"I bet we won't have neighbors like this in Trollberg." Said Hilda cheerfully as Hilbert went and sat on the couch

"That's my point" Replied Johanna as she gestured towards Woodman "civilized neighbors don't enter your house without asking first."

"Yeah, that's usually a thief's job" added Hilbert calmly, earning a scowl from Hilda

"But he's like a part of our family" pleaded Hilda

"No I'm not"

"No he isn't. You're the only one who thinks that" deadpanned Hilbert

"Nobody asked for your opinion!" glared Hilda angrily, causing Hilbert to glare back

"Can i have this?" Asked Woodman holding up a book that was on the couch

"We're not moving!" Yelled Hilda angrily

"...okay" replied Woodman

"*sigh* it's been a long day, let's get some rest" said Johanna tiredly as she went up the stairs

"Yeah, i think i need some rest as well" added Hilbert as he followed Johanna ignoring the glare his sister was giving him "c'mon, Spark. Let's get some rest for the night."

Spark let out a few zaps before making their way up the stairs with their creator.

Hilbert soon made it to his and Hilda's room. He quickly jumped on his bed

"C'mon Spark, let's do your routine code check" Hilbert called out to Spark tiredly

The robot goat hamster let out a series of zaps between their horns. Hilbert raised a brow at this "you already checked your code today? Was there anything wrong? Any glitches? Bugs?" Hilbert asked worriedly. Spark let out a few zaps that translated to 'none'. Hilbert let out a sight of relief "well, let me know if anything happens, okay?"

Hilbert soon went to sleep, leaving Spark alone to do their thing. Spark stared at the sleeping face of their creator silently. They were thinking about what he said earlier. It was odd, but not very concerning. Perhaps it was an glitch? Did organic being get glitches? Spark used to get glitches a lot, but they've been nearly wiped out by now. Spark went to sleep mode wondering about those things.

Soon after getting back home from Woodman's house, Hilda entered her and Hilbert's room. Hilbert was sleeping at the time. She glared at her brother as she got into her bed.

"At least try to help" grumbled Hilda angrily

He wasn't even trying to convince their mother to change her mind! Hilda got angrier and angrier with Hilbert as she thought about it.

"Why couldn't i just have a better brother instead of him?"

_-_-_

"Okay, do i have everything?" Asked Hilbert raising a brow as he inspected a backpack and Spark gave a zap of approval. Hilbert smiled and tried to lift the bag only to fall directly after "okay, maybe i should lighten it up a bit"

Spark nodded, causing Hilbert to remove...many objects from his backpack. After leaving away a large pile of inventions next to his bed, Hilbert went downstairs. Surprisingly, Hilda and Alfur weren't there.

"Did they go without me?"

Hilbert ran outside and barely managed to see Hilda from his location. She didn't look like she had any intention to wait for him.

Hilbert grumbled before running after his sister angrily. Soon enough, he made it.

"Finally, i thought you'd never make it" said Hilda, who was wearing clothes for the cold climate they were about to head into, with clear dislike

"*pant* Firstly *pant, i had to unpack some stuff" replied Hilbert rolling his eyes. He too was wearing warmer clothes "secondly *pant, why did you go without me?!"

"Oh, it's just that you looked so okay with living in the city; i thought you wouldn't want to come" said Hilda with venom in her voice

"Well, I'm here now. Let's go" said Hilbert as he glared at Hilda

"Yes, now that we're all set" said Alfur with nervous laughter from Hilda's hair "let's get going"

Hilda, for a small moment, scowled as she looked at Hilbert before turning away "yeah, let's go"

And with that, the three began heading towards the mountain.

_-_-_

"*pant*pant* how much further do you think it is?" Asked Hilda as she caught her breath at the lowest point of the mountain covered in snow

"Yeah, *pant* I *pant* need some *pant* rest" said Hilbert as he flopped unto the ground

"Uhh 15 hundred elf miles" said Alfur with an awkward smile as he pointed at

Hilda then heard a familiar noise: the sound of Woffs. Hilda immediately got an idea...a very bad idea, but an idea nonetheless. She looked angrily at Hilbert once more before a look of determination spread across her face.

She then jumped off of a cliff...falling onto a Woff that was flying by. Hilbert jolted into action when he saw that. He believed Hilda and Alfur would be fine. They'd crash into the snow and shrug it off. He distinctly remembered that scene.

That was what was supposed to happen, but Hilda fell off the Woff. That wasn't supposed to happen! She could die here!

"No no no no" said Hilbert in a panic he rummaged through his backpack. He pulled out a small thick metal disc and immediately threw it at Hilda. The disc turned into a small platform with 5 metal cores that Hilda and Alfur fell on. Sadly, Hilda didn't know how to pilot the platform and managed to crash it into some snow.

Hilbert pulled a second disc from his bag and after turning it into a platform, he very carefully flew his way to Hilda.

"Huh? Never knew you could make something that can fly like a Woff" said Alfur in surprise

"It doesn't. It uses magic and magnetism to fly around because it'd use less magic that way. Anyway, I'm getting off track" replied Hilbert as he got off the platform "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! JUMPING OFF OF A CLIFF?! REALLY?!"

"I didn't need your help" replied Hilda angrily as she threw away the platform and threw away Hilbert's platform as well

"Hey! What was that for?"

"I don't need help from a coward who can so easily give up on our home!" Hilda yelled out angrily. There were some tears in her eyes

"That's it?!"

"You think our home is just a 'that's it' for me?! For once in my life i thought i could depend on you, but i was wrong. You're still a coward who hides behind a screen and gives up without any effort."

"Fine, if you don't want me, I'm leaving" replied Hilbert with a deep frown

"This is what i mean. You don't even have to courage or will to tell me I'm wrong!" Said Hilda angrily

"Excuse me for not wanting to make it worse" Hilbert spat out angrily

"You ARE making it worse!"

"Guys!" Alfur yelled out

""What?""

Alfur replied by pointing at a tiny castle that was relatively close by "we're here"

"Oh" Hilda saw the castle "well, I'm going to go save our home from abandonment, with you or without you. Preferably without you"

"Fine, go be a hero." Replied Hilbert with an eyeroll

Hilda ignored him and left to meet the king of the elves. Hilbert sat on a rock and waited. He wasn't wrong, there was no way for him to stop the two lover giants from accidentally crushing their house. Even warning them wouldn't work. Who'd remember a warning mid-way through a who knows how long reunion? The only way was to make it so they never meet and that was just cruel.

While Hilbert was thinking these thoughts, he heard his sister yell "you don't even have hands" as hard as she could. Her voice started an avalanche that quickly fell down the mountain. Hilbert tried to think of way he could avoid dying using whatever he had on him, but he just came out blank...and with that he froze. He looked around him for something to hide behind and saw a rock he could use.

Hilbert wasn't gonna make it. He wasted too much time thinking and wasn't fast enough to get there in time.

Suddenly, something...or someone slammed into him. It was Hilda! She got them both behind the rock, safe from the avalanche.

"Thanks" said Hilbert, shivering from the cold

"You're welcome" replied Hilda dejectedly before she sat down, completely devoid of hope. She shed a few tears, prompting Hilbert to speak

"You didn't fail yet" said Hilbert calmly. Hilda just shrugged "*sigh* look, I'm not good at the advice thing and you probably shouldn't take my words too seriously, but I'm a scientist, or at least an aspiring one. Failure is just a part of the process for me. Sometimes it is the result of the process and you just have to find a new way around the problem"

"Your point?" Asked Hilda dejectedly

"That you're not a scientist. You're a crazy, stubborn and most importantly reckless adventurer who'd never give up, even risking their life for a poorly taken picture of a troll." said Hilbert as he crossed his arms "now go be just that so i can hate you for it, you big fat idiot"

Hilda was silent for a few seconds before she let out a small chuckle "you have terrible advice."

"I think we already established that"

"Like, REALLY terrible."

"Ha ha, very funny"

"I never knew it could get this bad"

"Okay, now you're just insulting me" deadpanned Hilbert

"All right, I'll stop now" said Hilda with a smile

"Ahh, great to see you two getting along" commented Alfur cheerfully

"We're not getting along" "nope, we still hate each other"

"Okay?" Replied Alfur as he scratched his head in confusion

The twins then made it out of behind the large rock and noticed a cave in the side of the mountain.

It was time for the giantess to wake up again.

_-_-_

In hindsight, suddenly waking up a creature so gigantic they could camouflage themselves as a whole mountain by accident was a bad idea

At least they managed to save the elf king.

"The mountain, it's a giant?!" Asked Hilda in shock

"You learn something new everyday" added Hilbert trying not to be scared as Hilda began speaking to the giantess

They spoke about Jorgen, the giant from before that she was supposed to meet up with. Hilda told her about what she had told Jorgen.

The snow had muffled most of the sound for giantess, making her unable to hear Jorgen. She put her finger in her ear to try and get some of the snow out, unknowing of our group being there.

They had to jump off, but before they could die; another miracle happened. Jorgen was here and he safely caught them and put them on the ground safely.

"Well, I'm spent" said Hilbert tiredly "I'll go home now"

"Wait! Young lad and lady" said the elf king as he got out of his tiny castle "in light of the recent event; i, the king, would like to declare the conflict between you and my people over. I'll speak woth the prime minister and inform him of the news" he said as he held up a parchment

"It's not official until you sign" commented Alfur cheerfully

"Oh I'm signing it right now" said Hilda as she signed without hesitation "Hilbert?"

"Got it" said Hilbert before he approached the king and signed the parchment

The elves cheered for this as Johanna, Twig and Spark got out of the house in a panic to see the two giants.

Hilda ecstatically ran up to Johanna yelled on about how she was holding a castle and that they didn't have to move. That was before Jorgen stepped on their house, pulverizing it. Hilbert winced as he stared at the damage before he heard his mother speak.

"The house! Everything! It's gone! It's all gone!" Yelled Johanna in a panic before turning to the giants in the distance "they haven't even noticed what they've done"

Hilda looked at Hilbert and then saw Johanna unknowingly stepping on an elf's house.

"I could fix it if you want" said Hilbert, just remembering that he could probably just do that

"No, i think we'll be alright" said Hilda with a smile as she held her mother's hand. She then extended her hand to Hilbert who decided to take it.

And with that, they began moving with Alfur telling them the news that he'd be going with them to Trollberg (if they're okay with it of course, which they were)

It was a new chapter for the family's life.
