Before we begin, I'd like to say to please never ask about one of my fanfics on another one.

I've recently been depressed about some stuff and reviews are one of my only sources of self esteem. So that review asking about this fanfic on another fanfic made me a lot more depressed.

So please, all i ask, if you want to ask about a fanfic, pm me or do it on the fic you're asking about.

Enjoy.

Hilda wasn't feeling very good ever since Hilbert's reaction to what she had said.

She was angry for what he'd done, buy she never thought he'd react this way...how he'd be so broken by what she said.

At least ,now, he was back to normal for the most part, just with more accidents with his inventions. But not everything was okay.

Hilbert was actively avoiding her. So much so that she couldn't even apologize. The only time they could talk was while eating and even there he was trying to avoid a proper conversation.

"Hilda, what's wrong?" Asked Frida in concern as she saw Hilda being too silent.

"Frida, was i too harsh on Hilbert during the Marra incident?" Asked Hilda dejectedly.

Frida winced upon remembering what Hilda said, causing her to groan.

"Ugh, now he won't even stay in the same room as me!" Said Hilda. "I can't even apologize!"

"Maybe you should wait it out, he can't avoid you forever." Suggested Frida with a smile.

"You clearly don't know my brother." Said Hilda with a deep frown.

"Well, we can try to figure it out together after the audition, okay?." Said Frida with a smile.

"*sigh* okay." Said Hilda dejectedly.

Hilda believed that she needed to make it right and fix her mistake so she could get her brother back, but how would she do that?

"So...you're not going to do anything this episode?" Asked Vivi curiously, raising a brow.

"I'm trying to stay away from Hilda...for a short while. I don't think I'm ready to talk to her yet." Hilbert replied as he fixed a broken machine inside his room with Vivian. "And it's for the better, since we already changed way too many things."

Vivian nodded in affirmation. "You've got a point, but i doubt it will be that easy." She said putting on a funny thinking face.

Hilbert looked away from his work and gave Vivi an odd. "What do you mean?"

"I mean that you're her brother and Johanna will be affected too. Who's to say you won't get dragged into this either?" Vivian explained crossing her arms.

Hilbert put a hand on his chin and pondered "you have a point."

Suddenly, he had an idea.

"How about i just try helping mom myself instead of leaving Hilda to do it?" Said Hilbert with a smile "mom would still go to the sparrow scout song...thing without being affected by the tide mice and it would steer things away from me needing to interfere."

"Okay, but how are you going to do that?" Asked Vivian raising a brow.

Not a moment after, Hilbert started rummaging around his room for something. Vivian watched him mess up his room with an odd look before he finally found the item he was looking for.

"I've prepared this for mom's birthday, but i think she won't mind getting it early." Said Hilbert with proud smile as he showed the item off to Vivian. "You think this might work?"

"...i have no idea."

It was a tablet, a drawing tablet.

"Uhm, Hilbert, what's this?" Asked Johanna in confusion as she held the tablet.

"It's a gift. To help you get back into drawing again." Said Hilbert hopefully. "It's a drawing tablet."

Johanna smiled awkwardly and put the tablet behind her.

"Well, i think it's a wonderful gift." She said reassuringly. "I'll just put it away for lat-"

"Mom, i know you don't know how it works, but can you please give it a chance." Hilbert pleaded in a hopeful tone.

"I don't know, Hilbert, I've never drawn on...this before." Said Johanna looking unsure as she held the tablet. "And you haven't been well lately, you shouldn't worry about my work."

"Mom, i made this before i...got all weird. Please just try it." Begged Hilbert clasping his hands together.

Johanna stared at Hilbert, desperate for her to try his gift. Comparing his current mood to what he was like before, she found herself unable to refuse.

"Alright, but it better not explode." Said Johanna with a smile before heading to her drawing board

Hilbert nodded before taking a glance at Vivian who was watching. She gave him a thumbs up with a smile that Hilbert returned.

Hilbert soon followed his mother and began the lesson.

"Okay, where do i start?" Asked Johanna with newfound excitement.

"You have to turn it on. Like this." Said Hilbert pressing the power button on the tablet and the tablet soon turned on to show a blank drawing board. "Now, let's begin with the simplest thing."

Hilbert pulled out a touch pen for the tablet and handed to Johanna. Johanna took the pen and began trying to draw some things with the different brushes. She even found the magic powered printer the tablet had.

"It's...nice, but it feels really weird. Guess I'm just so used to using a pencil." Said Johanna with a smile and a shrug.

Hilbert then decided it was time to reveal the real reason he thought this might help his mother.

"Well, there's one last thing i want to show you." Said Hilbert as he opened something on the tablet.

Johanna watched curiously before her eyes widened. The screen of the tablet showed their old home, then it switched to another part of the wilderness where the used to live, then another, then another.

"This tablet is connected to a lot of cameras and can do the same with my drones." Said Hilbert sheepishly. "I knew you couldn't find inspiration here in the city, so i thought I'd bring the wilderness to you."

Johanna turned to her son and smiled.

"I love it."

PLEASE READ.

I'm sorry for the short chapter, but i wanted to say this fic isn't abandoned.

I'm busy with Owl house fics and once the hiatus begins and i get through season two (which shouldn't take very long since I'm not writing every episode), i should have enough times for this fic and others.

Please bear with my circumstances. Thank you.

Toodles.
