Slowly gesturing to the Pikachu, AJ responded "Kaitlyn. Say Hello to Pikachu. Our buddy, the stowaway."It took it a few minutes for AJ's news to really register on her. She couldn't believe it. Kaitlyn just could not believe that AJ had somehow managed to find the ever-elusive stowaway. Her words all but failing her, Kaitlyn finally managed to get out "Wait. What?!"
Greetings, hello, and, after an unintentional slight hiatus, welcome back to a new chapter of 'All I Want For Christmas is a Pokémon'. So, last time, we saw AJ divulge to Kaitlyn that the Pikachu with her was the mysterious stowaway that had been behind so many of their problems as of late. So now that Kaitlyn knows, what will happen next? Read on to find out and I hope you all enjoy. =)
Quickly shushing her taller friend, AJ whispered "Keep it down, Kait! You're going to make a scene!"
"Sorry, sorry," the two-toned woman responded. "I just…. How? How'd you manage to make nice with the stowaway? With all of the stuff it's wrecked, I didn't think it'd be the friendly type."
"Well, about that," AJ began. "I actually think more than anything, he's just a bit shy."
"And, what exactly would make you think that?" Kaitlyn asked. "Haven't you heard by now about the battle Paige and Emma had?"
"Battle? What battle? Was it a practice battle they had?" the Latina asked, this being the first she heard of this.
"No. If what I keep hearing is right, I think their opponent may have been your new friend here," the two-toned woman responded, pointing at the Pikachu.
"What? No, couldn't have been him. He's been with me for a better part of tonight," AJ said.
"Well, I mean ...who knows? I'm just going off of what I kept hearing about their battle," Kaitlyn shrugged, trying to make sense of all of this.
"And just what have you been hearing exactly?" AJ asked, starting to feel a bit uneasy.
"Well, apparently, from what I kept hearing, Paige and Emma said that the Pokémon they battled had yellow fur. That, and it had a pretty powerful Thunderbolt attack," Kaitlyn said.
"Y-y-yellow fur? Thunderbolt?" AJ said before slowly turning to a now slightly trembling Pikachu. "Pikachu? What did you do?"
"Piiiii," the Pokémon nervously said as he ducked down and all but curled into a ball.
...
"You two didn't have to come back with me, you know?" Layla said with a laugh. "I just wanted to get Marill and Bulby back so that they could meet Evan's Pikachu."
"Well, we only thought it'd be nice and fair to introduce ourselves and our own Pokémon to the new member of our road family," Naomi said. "Besides, it's not like we were busy with anything before the show."
"Fair point," Layla nodded. "I just hope that the cutie will like meeting everyone."
"What makes you say that, bro?" Zack asked.
"Well, when me and Kait talked introducing Pikachu to Marill and Bulby, it seemed like the poor dear wasn't too keen on the idea. I'm not sure why though," Layla said.
"Sounds to me like he's just shy. But, don't worry. We'll be as nice as possible when we meet him," Naomi said.
"Buneary!"
"Quil. Cyndaquil."
Hearing this from her friends and their Pokémon had the Brit feeling confident in helping introduce them to Pikachu. Now all she had to do was hope that introductions would go smoothly.
...
Rubbing Pikachu's back as she tried to calm him down, AJ turned to look at her two-toned friend. "OK. So, let's say that it was in fact Pikachu that Paige and Emma battled. What would you suggest we do about him doing such a thing?"
"I ...I actually don't know. Only thing I can say we do is take him to Stephanie, but-"
"No, Kait! Not that!" AJ interrupted her friend.
"Wh-Why not? Haven't you been keeping track of just what he's done? And besides, if we don't tell her, don't you know just what Steph is capable of? Especially when she gets pissed about something?"
"Yeah, Kait, I know I know. It's just," the Latina began before sighing. "I just want to see if Pikachu'll want to team up with me. Be my first Pokémon. I know this sounds like a bad idea, but I just want to try. Just to see how Pikachu can be around humans that won't try to battle him."
"AJ," the two-toned woman began before letting out a sigh of her own. "AJ, look. I get what you're saying, but ...I just don't think this is a good idea. I mean, just because you were able to make nice with Pikachu now doesn't mean that he'll keep this attitude. I mean, what if something happens that makes him angry and he shocks you? What then?"
"Well, I ...I'll teach him. I'll teach him to keep his anger in check and to learn to trust all of us. That way, hopefully, none of what you just said'll happen. Just ...just please trust me on this," AJ begged.
"Ka. Pik Pika!" Pikachu added, a pleading tone in his voice.
After hearing her friend and the stowaway say all of this and casting a look between AJ and Pikachu, all Kaitlyn could think to do was let out another sigh before saying "OK, AJ. I guess we can try your idea out for a bit. But you're gonna have to come up with something to tell Steph if she asks about him."
"Yeah, you're right about that," AJ agreed. "Don't worry, I'll think of something to tell her."
"You'd better. After all, I'm fairly certain she'll want to know about just how you suddenly came into having a Pokémon of your own."
"Like I said, Kait, don't worry about it. I'll think of something," AJ said as she rubbed a now calmer Pikachu's head. 'Don't worry, little buddy. I'll do what I can to keep you safe. I promise.'
Well, this certainly sounds like quite the brave and possibly foolish idea AJ has. I mean, it's great that she wants to try to break Pikachu of his more aggressive behaviors, ...she should really keep in mind what could happen should Stephanie find out about her harboring the stowaway. Oh boy, this may not end well. Until next time then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(*sends love and good vibes out to you all*)
