Chapter Three

Throughout their studies, the twins would practice magic or more specifically imbued certain items with their magic. It was an exhausting process but the end result was worth it. One of the first items they chose was a pencil. Faith had finished reading the Harry Potter series and wanted to see if she could get a pencil to write by itself. It didn't quite work, but she could feel the pencil had some of her magic. Eventually, they figured out that when an object is imbued with their magic, they can manipulate it however they please…Almost. They couldn't turn an inanimate object into a living being but can shift it into another object of similar qualities and size.

With this knowledge, they were able to finish constructing their Jaeger in the Jaeger graveyard just outside of Seattle where so many have been dumped. The Viking-style sword was one of the harder pieces to construct. They had Carbon Steel beams used to build skyscrapers reforged into a sharp, double-sided sword that was normally one-handed. However, the hilt was long enough to be two-handed. Once it was finished, the sword was also imbued with magic, giving it the ability to heat up and become sharp enough to slice through buildings without dulling.

The final step before the twins could bring the Jaeger to life was installing the energy core. They had struck gold when a Quantum Vortex core was left inside a recently discarded Jaeger still thrumming with energy. Hope rebuilt most of the superconductors inside the core, which was not easy, especially with the difficulty of wearing a hazmat suit. About a week later, the superconductors were fully functioning and the core was fully charged. Some magic was infused into the core to slow down the exertion and discharge of the energy.

Even their suits were designed and built by them with a little help from a seamstress. Each of the Drivesuits had two layers. The Circuitry suit is the first layer that connects to the pilot's nervous system giving them the ability to feel everything the Jaeger feels. The Battle Armor is the second layer of the Drivesuit.

The Battle Armor was designed to handle the immense physical rigors of Jaeger operations. Faith had cleverly removed two suits of medieval armor from their basement storage to use as the Battle Armor shell. The medieval suits of armor were refurbished to fit their bodies, as well as allow full range of motion of all their joints without feeling too heavy or too uncomfortable. Hope shook her head, "You're going to be the one to tell Uncle Elijah about his suits of armor." Faith mischievously giggles, "I'll carve an apology inside his coffin."

They named her Amrit, meaning immortal or undead. A fitting name for the Mikaelson tribrid twins. Amrit was finished and they were going to take her for a test run. Marcel, Davina, and a few other vampires were with the twins by Amrit. Davina and Marcel helped them into their Drivesuits. Then everyone stood away from the Jaeger as the twins got into the Con-Pod. The bottoms of their boots were magnetic to clip into the individual platforms. Hope controlled the left hemisphere while Faith controlled the right.

After taking their positions at an odd angle since Amrit is laying down, Hope turns to her sister, "You ready?" Faith smiled with excitement, "Hell yeah! Let's do this!" Using voice commands, Hope started initiating the Neuro-Handshake, "Left side initiate." Faith stated her command, "Right side initiate." What sounded like a large jet turbine was heard kicking on and starting to spin. The twins closed their eyes in anticipation of the Neuro-Handshake. The feeling of entering each other's minds through the Jaeger's neural pathway was a little unnerving at first but they adapted.

"Let's stand her up," says a very anxious Hope. They both move in sync, lifting each arm, and flexing Amrit's fingers before bringing the hands down to the ground. Bracing the weight of the upper body of Amrit on their hands they slowly push into a sitting position. Then they brought one leg up at a time, bending at the knees to stand. Like an unstable toddler, the twins stood Amrit up, wobbling a little before gaining their balance.

Throughout the whole process, Marcel was recording everything. He knew the Mikaelsons' will want to see this moment. He feels guilty for leaving them daggered for so long. Marcel knew the time to undagger them would be soon. His chain of thought was interrupted by Davina's hollering right next to him. He focused his attention back on the Jaeger and watched as Amrit became stable then walked a few steps around the graveyard.

Everyone could see Amrit was heading away from them, "Where are they going?" Marcel felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He opened the message he just received, "Going to see how she handles. Be back laterz." Davina snickered at the message. Marcel sighed in frustration, "Klaus is going to kill me."

Amrit had ventured from the graveyard in Washington to the frozen shores of Alaska with no issues and no sign of slowing down. Around three in the morning, Amrit came across a Kaiju attacking the Becket brothers' Jaeger, Gypsy Danger. The twins looked at each other and shrugged, "Why not?" They readied themselves for the fight, getting as close as they could before being noticed. At the same time, the Kaiju had grasped Gypsy Danger's Conn Pod, digging its claws in, and was going to rip it in half. Faith patched them into Gypsy's comms, "On your right."

Amrit deployed her Viking Sword and thrust forward into the Kaiju's back. The magic imbued in the sword caused it to become white-hot, and extremely sharp. Amrit yanked with all her strength upwards, dissecting the Kaiju. She then swung her sword sideways, slicing the Kaiju through the midsection. Two halves of the Kaiju's upper body fell in separate directions into the ocean. The half with the head still attached barely missed the fishing boat. Kaiju Blue flows into the ocean, surrounding the fallen creature and both Jaegers.

The twins were still patched into communications. They listened to the Beckett brothers converse with General Pentecost, "What the hell just happened?" Yancy spoke, still trying to catch his breath. General Pentecost replied, "An unidentified Jaeger entered the fight? Jaeger, identify yourself." Faith rolled her eyes at the demand but answered, "Faith and Hope Mikaelson, sir. Piloting Amrit." Pentecost stated another demand, "Stay right where you are, you're being detained." The twins looked at each other and thought the same thing, "Marcel is going to kill us."

General Pentecost kept his eyes on the unknown Jaeger being towed into the Anchorage ShatterDome. The pilots have been removed from the Conn Pod and placed in custody. He was joined by Tendo Choi, his top Jaeger technician, and proceeded to ask him, "Anything you can tell me about this Jaeger?" Tendo had done a brief scan of the Jaeger, "From what little I gathered, it's junk. Literally." Tendo hands Pentecost his tablet, then points to the Jaeger, "That Jaeger was pieced together inside the Seattle Graveyard. Are we going to talk to the pilots? I want to know how they did it." Pentecost took one last look at Amrit and made his way to the interrogation room where Hope and Faith were being held.

The twin girls sat up straight as Tendo and Pentecost walked into the room. They were currently handcuffed to a metal table that was bolted to the floor, sitting in really uncomfortable metal chairs. Two more chairs sat on the other side of the table with a one-way mirror covering the wall. Tendo took a seat, he was the first to speak, "Man, when I heard your voice I thought you sounded young but you two seem no older than fifteen." Faith whispered, "Seventeen." Tendo shook his head. Pentecost leaned forward hands folded on top of a tablet, "You two must be really smart then?" He looked back and forth between them.

Pentecost tapped the screen of the tablet, "Hope and Faith Mikaelson. Age seventeen. Graduated high school at fifteen. Both of you are pursuing mastery degrees in Physics, Engineering, and Metalworking. No other information could be found on the two of you except contact information for Marcel Gerard. It's almost as if you appeared out of thin air before high school. Now, since your Jaeger is not sanctioned by the Pan Pacific Defense Corp I'm afraid we are going to have to dismantle it." "What?! You can't do that. Amrit took almost two years to build." Faith was cut off from ranting any further by Pentecost slamming his fist against the table, "Enough! I suggest you get comfortable while we figure out what to do with you two." The two men got up and left.

A few hours later, Pentecost re-entered the room with the staff members that brought them into custody. The twins were uncuffed from the table and escorted out of the room. Pentecost stood in front of them, "After careful consideration and a thorough evaluation of your Jaeger, you have been put on a probational period with PPDC." He held up his pointer finger, "One screw up, just one, and your Jaeger will be dismantled beyond reconstruction and you two will not see the light of day. Do I make myself clear?" Hope and Faith nodded their heads. "These gentlemen will escort you to your quarters. I took the liberty of contacting your guardian, he will be here within the hour."

Marcel and Davina were escorted to the twins' quarters where he spent a good hour ranting and raving at the two girls. General Pentecost had given Marcel a rundown of what happened when they arrived. Once Marcel was done ranting and he caught his breath, "So? How did Amrit do?" Hope smiled, "She did beautifully." The next four years were exciting, to say the least.
