Time stood still as Bo looked down at her knife. Blood dripped from it. Horrified, she knelt down. "Lauren, I am so, so sorry. I didn't mean to kill her!". She sobbed.

Lauren snapped her head in her direction and her arms away from the succubus. She ran her hands all over Nadia's body. Trying to find a pulse. Find something she could bring her back to life with.

Bo sat on the floor. "She's gone sweetie, she's gone." She tried to reach for Lauren but the doctor pushed her away again. "I didn't mean to kill her. I didn't want to kill her. But she turned for you and I panicked and I put my blade in her". Bo sobbed. She wiped her tears away with the back of her hands and kicked her knife across the floor. When it slammed against the wall, it bounced back a little.

Lauren was in the room but then she wasn't in the room. She was all doctor. Right then and there. She was Dr. Lauren Lewis. She had been in Bo's bed twice but this is the real doctor. She rubbed her head and screamed. She fell backwards on her ass. Bo went for her again but she put her hand up to stop her from moving another inch. When Bo reached for Nadia, Lauren screamed again. The blonde shook her head and stood up and walked away from the scene. She needed to get away. It was something she often did after she lost a patient in a medical facility. She has to know. She needs to know how she failed. Five years of work, gone. She failed. She drank a tall glass of water and looked back at Nadia and Bo. Bo was mouthing something. The blonde turned an ear to Bo's voice and walked over.

"I'm so sorry Nadia. I didn't mean to kill you after waking you up". Bo bent over and planted her face on the floor in tears.

"What? What did you just say?". Lauren's broken voice broke Bo as she sat back up. "Lauren I...

"Tell me what you said!?." The doctor's voice was deep as it rounded the room.

Bo held her chest and took some deep breaths. Finally, she stood up. "I woke her up."

"Is this it..Lauren started.

"Is what it?". Bo asked.

"Is this your payback for me and the Ash?!." Lauren screamed again.

"What?! No! No, Lauren. It is not about that. I let that go weeks ago." Bo choked out.

Lauren stared at the woman hard. Nothing in her face was the truth. "Get out." She whispered as she stepped closer to Nadia's body.

"Lauren, it's not about the Ash. It's so much more." Bo cried.

"This is Light Fae property and I said to get out! Don't forget your human killer." Lauren pointed at Bo's empty sheath.

Bo collected her blade, slammed her eyes shut and turned around. She wanted to run but she didn't. Swiftly she walked out of the loft and shut the door behind her. She looked at it once more before she walked out of the building. When she climbed into her car, she looked at the building once more and pulled off.

Lauren laid on top of Nadia and cried until the doctor in her kicked in again. Gritting her teeth, she called the Ash.

"Dr. Lewis. I didn't expect to hear from you." Lachlan breathed into the phone.

"Nadia's dead. Our deal is done." Lauren spoke coldly.

"Who? Who killed her?!." Lachlan screamed in anger.

"Does it matter? She's dead and I'm free." Lauren hung her phone up before he could say another word.

"Get my car and a few people ready, now!." Lachlan looked at his phone after Lauren hung up.

Lauren looked around the loft. She closed her eyes when she found what she was looking for. She bent over Nadia and went to work.

The Dal

Bo walked in like she was overly drunk but she wasn't. She had driven there in a daze and her mood hadn't improved. Murderer. Killer. Walking undertaker. Haunted her brain. She stumbled to the bar and nearly fell just before she reached a bar stool.

"Bo? Are you ok?." Trick asked.

"Just give me your best and tallest bottle." Bo whispered.

"What's up?." Kenzi walked up behind Bo and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.

Bo rolled her eyes and pulled it off. "Nothing. Can you leave me alone?." She half looked over her shoulder.

"Do you need to feed? I'm sure Dyson is around here." Kenzi looked around.

"I said alone!." Bo screamed.

Kenzi raised her palms up and backed away. She eyed Trick and he nodded. She walked to the end of the bar and waited for Trick. "What did she say?."

"Nothing. Maybe we should leave her alone." Trick watched Bo walk to a table and plopped down in the seat.

Lauren

She cried and sobbed on every surface. She was alone for the first time in years, she was..is completely alone. She sat on her couch and put her hands in her head. Stay here. Just stay here until you come up with something.

Half an hour later.

"You called Trick?." Dyson walked in.

"No. Kenzi, did you do this?." Trick turned on the woman.

"Hey, if she won't talk to you or me, Dyson is the next best thing." Kenzi shrugged.

"Who do I need to talk to?." Dyson looked between them.

"Dude? Hello? Bo, over there?!." Kenzi pointed.

Dyson took Bo in. "No."

"What? Since when do you mean no? It's not sex, it's just talk." Kenzi pushed him over towards Bo. Bo raised her head in Dyson's direction. The woman growled with eyes so blue, they pushed him away from her before he even got close.

"See, I said no." Dyson took a seat.

"Welp, I didn't want to do this." Kenzi pulled her phone out. As soon as she said Lauren, Bo was in her face with the same blue eyes that met Dyson. She hung up and Bo walked back to her table.

"What the fuck?." Kenzi mouthed at Trick.

"It's Bo's succubus. She probably thought you were about to curse Lauren out or something. Remember what they told us about the Lich?." Trick ran his fingers over the bar top.

"Yeah. Okay. Well, I guess we will have to wait this out. Whatever this is." Kenzi looked at Bo. There was an angry silence surrounding the woman. Nobody was going in her direction at all.

Lauren's loft.

"I'm the Ash, knock the door down!." Lachlan screamed. He followed some men in and looked around. He saw a bloody spot on the floor and walked to it. "The doctor is still here, find her." He ordered the men. They marched upstairs and started looking.

"Looking for me?." Lauren grabbed him from behind.

"It would be in your best interest to let me go, doctor." The Ash growled.

"Not without a little something first." Lauren pulled him backwards and stabbed him in the mouth with a needle. When his teeth moved, she knew she was on to something. She let him go and vanished to another room. She walked over to Nadia's body and injected it with something. "Now, you can rest." She whispered and walked out of the room again.

She walked past the Ash and his voice called her back. "She didn't have to do it, you know. She took great risk with her own life in doing so."

"I know Bo woke her up." Lauren kept walking.

"She did it for you!." Lachlan screamed. Lauren turned around on her boot heel and stared at him. "Yes, she went to the most dangerous spots known to any Fae and freed your girlfriend. She was never supposed to tell you, but I suspect her conscience got the better of her. As I understand it, she was a mere sneeze away from losing her life. That should mean something to your bleeding heart."

"You are both assholes." Lauren snapped her teeth in his direction. In doing so, she felt the necklace cold against her chest. She yanked it off and threw it across the room. When the Ash didn't protest, she turned around again and walked out leaving everything behind but the suitcase in her hand.

"Shall we collect her sir?." A guard asked.

"No. I know where she's going. She will come around, again. In the meantime, clean up this loft. I mean scrub it free of everything and give special attention and care to the dead body." Lachlan straightened his jacket and left them to their work.

The Dal

The gang watched Bo at her table. She had almost ten empty bottles of liquor in front of her. She hadn't said a word outside of ordering another bottle.

"This is not good." Trick spoke softly.

"Did Isabeau ever do this?." Dyson asked.

"No. Never. Her succubus had never been on the surface for that long." Trick shook his head and turned away. In a way it breaks his heart. Bo needs another succubus. But the ones she needs are in no shape to help her. Aife disappeared after they fought and his contacts never found her.

Kenzi sat thinking about Bo's fight with Aife. She remembered her saying she wasn't going to give up on the woman. Even after all the shit Aife had done recently. Maybe this is her never giving up on Lauren. Bo can be loyal like that.

"Another bottle." Bo's deep voice cracked the awkward silence.

"I will take it to her." Lauren snatched the bottle from a tray Trick was holding. She walked over and took a seat across from Bo. She stared at her and the woman never flinched.

"After all we have done for you. After all that I have done for you and could have done to you. After all Bo has done for you, you dare to sit before me, now?." The succubus seethed.

"I don't care that you're upset, I am here for Bo." Lauren sat back and folded her arms. Trick Dyson, and Kenzi all looked at each other and rounded the same looks again.

"What if I don't want to let her out? What then? This is my body too." The succubus raised her hand and poured another drink.

Lauren almost laughed and sat forward. She reached her hand across the table and touched the woman's hand. Just as she thought, blue eyes turned brown.

"What do you want, Lauren?." Bo gritted her teeth.

"He told me. I would thank you but you should have told me yourself." Lauren leaned back.

"It had to be selfless. If I told you, it wouldn't have worked." Bo called for a glass of water.

"So, the succubus that doesn't like secrets kept a secret? The brunette that doesn't like to be betrayed didn't tell me I was free before I recommitted to him. Killing Nadia got you off the hook huh?." Lauren cocked her head to the side.

"Damn it!." Bo broke the glass in her hand.

"Dyson? Bo needs to heal!." Lauren screamed across the room.

"No!." Bo raised her hand in anger. She pulled chi from across the room and her hand healed.

"Impressive." Lauren's eyes weren't cold but they weren't warm either.

"Do we have to do this, here?." Bo asked.

"Well, I left my badge and credentials with the Ash. Where else could I go?." Lauren looked around the bar. It all looks so foreign to her now. She had once loathed this place but now? She just doesn't care.

"My place then." Bo stood and drank the water. Lauren watched her finish it and finally stood.

Bo held her hand up as Trick, Kenzi and Dyson walked over to them. "Not now."

Bo walked out and was stunned to see Lauren driving herself. "I can drive. I've had my license for years." The doctor jumped into a red mustang. Bo ran to her own car and jumped in. That thing could lose hers in a heartbeat.

When they pulled up to a stop sign, Lauren saw Bo point for her to turn. She squinted her eyes because they weren't going towards the club house. She shrugged and followed the woman. Nothing she could do now would hurt her. Her broken heart is cold in her bed at the moment. What used to be her bed that is.

Bo pulled over and parked. "What is this?." Lauren asked.

"A new hideout." Bo replied. "I figured if we are here, we won't be interrupted."

"I see." Lauren looked around but kept her wits about her.

"You are safe here, Lauren." Bo spoke softly from the other side of her car.

"I know I am." Lauren walked around a set of chairs but never sat in one.

"I didn't want to kill her, Lauren. I didn't but I did want to wake her up for you. It wasn't right or fair what they did to her or you. You deserved to be happy. That's why I woke her up. I didn't expect any thanks. I didn't want any thanks. I want you, happy." Bo walked around and leaned against her car.

"You could have told me, Bo. We could have left and never come back." Lauren sighed.

"I didn't think you would. I secretly hoped you wouldn't but since you took my car, I knew you would be back. As obligated as you had been to Nadia, I knew you wouldn't keep my car" Bo licked her dry lips as she watched the woman walk around the chairs. "Lauren?."

"I'm listening." Lauren shrugged.

"That's all you have to say?." Bo asked.

"What do you want me to say, Bo? Earlier I had a gf. By now she's cold on a gurney in a morgue." Lauren bowed her head and breathed in the evening air.

Bo frowned. This is bigger than she thought. Lauren doesn't look like Lauren. She's less than a shell of herself. "What can I do?."

"Nothing." Lauren shook her head.

Bo sighed. "Lauren, I just wanted you to be happy. That's all. It broke my heart to see you happy but it was worth it because you deserved it. Your happiness matters to me. You matter to me. So much. So much that I stepped down and woke her up for you."

"That wasn't Nadia. It was but it wasn't." Lauren looked up but not at Bo.

"What? Who was she then?." Bo's eyes went wide.

"I don't know but once you killed Nadia, it surfaced. Once it told me what it was, I knew what I was working with. After a tough struggle, I strapped her body down. I took some Naga Venom from Lachlan and pumped it into Nadia's veins. With my family all dead, he had nothing to taunt me with now that Nadia is dead. I don't know when I lost the real Nadia. That's what is hurting me now. I could have cured her years ago and never knew when because they cursed her. Cursed her in that pod. They cursed my brain, body and feet to serve them and them only." Lauren finally took a seat.

"Where's your necklace, Lauren?." Bo asked.

"My dog collar? It's on the floor of my old loft." Lauren shrugged.

Bo closed her eyes and rolled them behind her eyelids. This woman forgets nothing. She's a doctor of course she doesn't. "Come with me." Bo gestured and they climbed into their cars again. Lauren shook her head when they drove towards the Light Fae compound.

"Sir, the doctor is back and she's not alone." A guard walked in with his back to the Ash.

"I didn't expect her to come alone. Let them in." Lachlan pulled his jacket on and emerged from behind his desk. "Bo, Lauren." He nodded.

"That's Dr. Lewis to you." Bo huffed.

"It is Lauren to me. She's no longer my doctor." Lachlan smiled.

"What's this bullshit?." Bo put her hand on her sheath.

"I was grooming you to fight someone for me. But Lauren here took him out. His death left burn marks on her old ceiling. Nadia is gone. The threat is gone. She is free." Lachlan turned around and grabbed something from his desk. He stepped forward and handed it to Bo. She half turned, reached over her shoulder and handed it to Lauren.

"What does it say, Lauren?." Bo asked with her back to the woman.

"He's right. It's signed by every Light Fae Elder." Lauren answered.

"Enjoy your life, Doctor. Now get out of my office." Lachlan waved towards the door.

"Wait. This sounds too easy, Lauren." Bo stayed in a fighting position. She stepped backwards in Lauren's direction. She must stand in front of her. Her eyes were everywhere before the scene in front of her. She had trusted Lachlan about Nadia and the nail. She wasn't so sure she could or should trust him now.

"The Ash before me cursed her girlfriend. I just needed her to stick around long enough to help me defeat the Garuda and she has. Her time under the Light Fae or any Fae is done. No strings." Lachlan walked around and took a seat behind his desk.

"With all due respect sir, if you let her go, we won't have a medical examiner!". A man screamed. The Ash shut him up with the palm of his hand in the air.

"I'm out of here, Bo." Lauren didn't wait for him to say another word. She'd heard enough.

Bo walked backwards out of the building. She'd been in the place long enough to know where every door and piece of furniture was. She reached for her car door and finally turned around.

Lauren was already in her car and driving away. Bo had to floor her car to catch up. Don't fail me. Don't fail me. She rubbed the steering wheel to encourage it not to fail her "Going my way?". She turned her head to her left.

"I'm going to have some dinner and browse the web for a new home." Lauren answered. She took her first freeing breath and made donuts in the road behind her.

"Yep. That's my way." Bo smiled as she followed the woman. Nothing is set in stone with them. For now, she can live with being friends as long as she gets to live in Lauren's world.

Finished.
