Warning: Mild Violence

(Out in the Town)

Early the next morning, Rose was the first one up, excited to get the day started. She stretched her limbs. She walked over to Einstien, who rested beside Fagin. Dodger was still on Fagin's lap, curled up in a ball.

"Dodgie," she quietly said, jumping onto Fagin's lap. She shook him with her right front paw. "Dodgie, wake up," she whispered. Dodger stirred and lifted his head, cracking his eyes open.

He smiled when he saw the collie mix on top of him, one front paw on each side of him. "Mornin', Rosie. You're usually the last one up," he teased, smiling at her. He stood up, making Rose get off of him.

"Yeah, I'm always a hard sleeper," she agreed. The two pups jump down from Fagin's lap. They landed on the opposite side of Einstein.

"You ready to teach Rita how we work the streets today?" Dodger asked with a grin. "You bet I am!" Rose replied, dropping to a playbow position, wagging her tail.

Dodger tackled her to the ground in a playful manner as puppies would. They stared into each other's eyes, blushing lightly.

Dodger then chuckled at this before getting off of her. "Let's go wake Einie," he said. Rose nodded and started trotting to the older, thick-skinned dog.

She jumped on him, mostly on his head. "Wake up, Einie!" Rose barked, jumping on him. "Yeah, wake up!" Dodger said, thrusting his small body against the larger dog.

They were lucky to have a dog like Einstein and how he was such a good-natured dog that wouldn't hurt a fly. So it wasn't too uncomfortable for two puppies to batter ram him with all of their might.

But it did wake the great dane up. Rose walked over to where Rita was sleeping and walked inside, her head, neck, and front left paw was inside it.

She saw Rita sleeping in a ball, reminding Rose of how she always slept during the two weeks she was on her own. Rita was facing her though.

"You always sleep this much or are you just lazy?" she joked. Rita's eyes open and she made a head movement to look at Rose.

"Morning, Rose," she said, bleary eyed. Dodger then looks inside to check on Rita along with Einstein's huge head. "Morning, Dodger, Einie," she said with a grin. They all got out of her tent bed.

"You ready to go then?" Dodger asked enthusastically, his tail wagging very fast. Rose bounced up and down, tongue hanging out and wagging her tail furiously, eyes wide. "Yeah, let's go, let's go, let's go!" she said estatically.

Rita's smiled at this too, her stomach growling. "Sure, let's go get some food. I'm so hungry that I can eat a whole car!" Rita said excitedly.

After last night, Rita was more than happy to get her mind off of what went down with her mother and siblings abandoning her. Rose play bowed in front of her, tongue hanging out of her muzzle, her tail wagging back and forth, eyes widened, filled with innocence and enthusiasm.

Having her friends to distract her would help her enjoy her new life, nothing could ruin it. "We've had a slow few days food wise," Dodger said sheepishly.

"We should try Walter Avenue this time. We might get lucky and find some," Rose said. Rita was too hungry to argue and didn't want to offend her new friends.

Just like Rose, it would take a little adjusting to get used to a street dogs life style. Sure, it was a huge change from the luxurious lifestyle of the apartment.

"That's cool, we'll find something soon enough. You guys gonna show me the ropes?" Rita asked. "Yep!" the terrier barked excitedly.

Rose and Dodger run to their master and jumped on him in a boisterous manner so they could get going while the day is young.

(In the city)

Both young puppies were buzzing with enthusiasm as they left the old barge and got into Fagin's electric scooter, which was big enough to fit all four dogs. Rose hung her forepaws over the right side of the shaking cart, trying to keep her balance along with Rita.

The city was thriving with activity, cars racing down the busy streets, the sidewalks filled with people.

Both dogs were splattered by flecks of saliva from the great dane as his tongue hung out. Rita didn't know how Rose, Dodger, and Einstein they could handle this and not be flung out of the cart.

Rose laughed in excitement from how bumpy the ride was. She held a lot of admiration from them.

They made their skills look so easy to master.

Fagin dropped the four dogs off in an alleyway, easing Rita's apprehension. The ride there did make her feel nauseous though. Rose gave her a nudge to help her move along.

Rose was going to make sure she would move forward okay. Of course, Fagin wouldn't expect much of her on her first day like Rose on her first day. Einstein stayed with the man, fully confident that nothing will go wrong.

Both Rose and Dodger led the way in jaunty trots. They traveled down the sidewalks, making to Walter Avenue like Rose said. To their luck, Rose was right because there was a dumpster filled with unused food from the restaurant behind it.

Rose and Dodger both smelled the delightful smell of the food. It was so inviting. "What is it, you guys?" Rita asked, peering over their shoulders.

The three canines trot towards the smell, peeking around the corner, spotting the food.

"Jackpot!" They say in sync. Dodger rushed in the alley, jumping on some boxes to get inside.

"C'mon!" Rose said happily, running over to the pile of treasure.

Dodger started to push food off from the dumpster, feeding his gang. Rita came over too, eating what has been dropped to the ground.

Rose got her jaws on some left over chicken. Rita ate some meat lovers pizza. They would bring Einstein and Fagin something once they were done eating.

Dodger ate a hamburger that had all of the ingredients from the buns, the vegetables, the cheese, and the patty.

Rose suddenly stops eating at the sound of growling. She had the best hearing out of all of them. She lifted her head, her mix-matched ears moving to catch the sound.

Dodger noticed how tense Rose had gotten and stopped eating. "Rose? What's up?" he asked.

Rita noticed this too and they averted their attention. Rose walked around them, walking towards the back end of the alley that had a T pathway.

Rose focused on the section, both ears and tail raised up. "Guys. We need to leave. Now," she said quietly but loud enough for the others to hear.

Dodger knew the sound of her voice, so he took it seriously. Rita wasn't ready to fight; she wasn't a fighter and has never been one.

Rita's ears were pulled back, a scared look in her eyes, and her tail tucked between her legs.

Rose wasn't scared of what threat was there. "Whoever's out there, you better leave before you regret it!" Rose growled, baring her teeth a little bit.

She turned away to walk away, she was suddenly tackled to the ground by a strong force.

Rose yelped from the impact of the ground. "Rose!" the gang said, wanting to help her but they were stopped by a familiar face.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" someone said. Rose glanced up, seeing that same pitbull mix above her, using his paw to hold her down by the neck. "You?!" she growled, struggling to get up.

"Don't speak unless you're spoken to, rat," he growled, his horrible breath drifting onto her face. Rita whimpered, backing away in fear.

The pitbull mix looked up when heard Rita's fear-filled whimper. He chuckled when he saw her. "Some new meat, I see," he chuckled in a way that sent shivers down her spine.

Dodger stepped in front of the saluki mix, growling at the bigger dog. "Don't you touch her. You get off of Rose and you leave us be," Dodger said in a voice that showed he means business.

"I don't think so, pup. We have some unfinished business," he said with a hearty laugh. He started to walk towards the two other pups.

"Leave them alone!" Rose barked, struggling to her paws and charged at him. She jumped on his back thanks to a stack of boxes.

She latched her teeth onto the back of his neck, digging her claws as deep as she could. The bigger dog growled in fury and started jumping around like a horse to get the pup.

"GET OFF!" he roared, throwing Rose off. She crashed into a trash can with a loud bang. Dodger growled at the dog, hackles erect all the way.

Rita quickly hid behind some boxes to stay out of the crossfire. "If you want to beat fight someone, then fight me!" Dodger challenged the dog, standing in a fighting stance. His short tail was raised up and his ears were dropped.

The bigger dog only smiled, underestimating him. "Alright then, bring it on, puppy. I can't wait to tear you three apart!" he laughed baring his teeth.

The two dogs charge at one another. They start to fight. Dodger sunk his teeth into the side of the bigger dogs' neck, but it only made the bigger dog only angrier.

He shook Dodger off and pinned him to the brick wall. Since Dodger was smaller than the pitbull mix, he was held against the wall about 4 to 5 feet in the air.

"You might be a street dog, but you can't fight," the bigger dog growled, looking at him dead in the eye. Dodger growled at him and glared back at him.

"No wonder you can't fight. It's just not in your blood. You're nothing more than a mutt used to sit in the humans laps. You and those females aren't worth the ground you stand on. Not even that great dane of yours isn't here to save you this time," the dog growled, turning his head to the right to showcase a fresh scar on his neck from where Einstein bit him last time.

Dodger saw the scar, seeing the extent of the damage. The scar went from his throat to the back of his neck, the middle was more mangled, and his fur was gone because of how vicious the bite was. The fur wouldn't grow back.

"Give up now, you stupid pup. You don't stand a chance," he said, hoping Dodger would give in. "I'm not giving in, you waste of skin!" Dodger growled, biting him on the leg.

Dodger bit him hard enough to draw a good amount of blood. The other dog tensed up from the pain and bit down onto Dodger's back, throwing him to the concrete.

"Dodger!" Rose shouted, struggling to stand up. But her legs hurt from being thrown. Dodger was struggling to get to his paws, blood seeping down his fur, staining the white portion of his fur.

He wasn't going down without a fight though, and sprung back at the bigger dog. The two dogs launched themselves at each other, biting each on their necks. But the bigger dog bit down harder, making Dodger release his bite.

Dodger forced himself back onto his paws, tongue hanging out, legs shaking. "Give up already, boy," the big dog sighed.

Dodger charged at him again but the bigger dog took him down with his paws, his face closing in on Dodger's. "You ready to leave this world, pathetic street mutt?" he growled, ready to kill him.

Rita was in shock as she witnessed the dog fight, although she didn't make any moves to fight.

Rose has had enough. She felt something bubbling inside of her. But what was it? Rage, perhaps.

She looked over at a Rita, seeing the fear in her eyes. She looked back over at the big dog. "HEY!" she growled.

The big dog and Dodger looked over at her. Dodger lay on the ground, bleeding out from his wounds.

"You jerk... how DARE you call him that! He's my friend and family member! How DARE you hurt him!" she growled, baring her teeth at him.

"Ha, what are you gonna do, puppy? You couldn't do anything the first time, your little friend couldn't take me down, so what makes you think you can do it again?" he asked humorously.

Rose simply walked over to Dodger, who opened his eye to look at her. "R-Rose?" he whimpered. Rose looked up at the big dog. "I'm half german shepherd and half border collie.

Two fiercely smart and protective dog breeds. Once this blood touches my lips, you will see another side of me," she said.

Dodger wanted to say something, to stop her from this, but it was too late when she licked it. Rose growled in a way that Dodger had never heard come from her before.

He managed to push himself up to where he was laying on his belly. He saw that Rose's eyes seemed to change color, to a light red color.

He's never seen her like this before. "Rita, go find Einstein and Fagin," Dodger whispered to her. "I-I can't..." she whimpered, shaking like mad.

"You have to, Rit. He's gonna *grunt* kill her," he said, pain shooting through his body. Rita then did what she was asked and took off like mad. Dodger couldn't follow her because he was in too much pain.

Rose then charged at the pitbull mix, grabbing one of his ears with her teeth. She had jumped onto his back, grabbing his ear.

She managed to rip off the ear before jumping off of him. She looked at him, his severed ear being held in her jaws. Blood poured out of the wound, staining his grey and short fur.

"My ear... you vile beast," he growled, baring his teeth at her. Rose then unconsciously ate his ear, licking the blood.

She then smiled at this, letting the blood drip from her bottom jaw. "So good..." she said lustfully. She then charges at him again, saliva flying out of her mouth.

Rose started to fight the bigger dog like how a fighter dog would. Dodger was in shock. He's never seen her so blood thirsty before.

He wanted to help her but he knew that she wouldn't tell who was a friend and who was an enemy. No human on the street could stop her blood lust.

She bit down on the dog's hide and pulled it off effortlessly. The dog inflicted wounds on her too, causing her to heavily bleed, but she didn't care.

"I won't be beaten by a damn pup!" he shouted, biting her on the back. Rose snarled, frothing at the mouth.

Jumping on him again, she latched onto his throat, pulling off more of his fur and flesh. "MORE!" she snarled, her teeth dripping with crimson.

The bigger dog panted and started limping away. Each open wound dripped with blood.

Rose was still snarling like a wild animal, not caring about the wounds that had been inflicted onto her. All she cared about was killing this dog.

"C-Can we call this a draw...? There's no way we can fight like this forever..." he panted, not wanting to fight her anymoore.

Rose ignored him and leaped onto him, biting very hard on the back of his neck, pulling off a chunk of his fur and flesh.

"AGH!" the bigger dog shouted, falling down as Rose kept chewing him up. "Stop! I'm done! Please!" He begged her.

Rose ignored him and laughed maniacally. "I want MORE!" she snarled, smiling crazily. "Rose, stop! He's had enough!" Dodger, hoping to get through to her.

Dodger knew that if someone didn't stop her, it was possible she wouldn't change back. Just then, Rita came back with Einstein and Fagin. They were shocked at what they saw.

"Someone's gotta stop her!" Rita barked.

Dodger stood up, walking over to Rose. "Dodger?!" Einstein shouted. "I'll do it. I got us into this mess and I'm gonna finish it," he said, looking back at the others.

"She'll kill you!" Einstein shoued. Fagin wanted to stop her, but he was scared that he would suffer the same fate as the bigger dog.

Dodger walked over, standing back a few feet with his ears dropped to the side of his head. Rose lifted her head, snarling at him with her teeth bared all the way, blood dripping from her jaws.

She was protecting her kill like how a wild animal would. He saw the look of malice in her eyes, a look he'd never seen before.

"Mine! Mine!" she growled, keeping her teeth bared. "I'm sorry for this, Rose," Dodger said before he jumped onto her back, grabbing onto her neck hide with his teeth. He pulled her off of him, getting her to growl with her jaws wide open.

Dodger kept a good hold onto her as she struggled to get him off. Rose tried to bite him, hackles raised up all the way.

Dodger tightened his grip on her, holding himself off of the ground, wrapping his front paws around her neck.

He wa s going to wear her down to the point of exhaustion. Rose shoved him up against the wall, hitting his open would. Dodger whimpered, but didn't falter.

Rose was beginning to get tired and she panted, giving Dodger the opportunity to slam her to the ground. Rose growled once more, Dodger laying on top of her to get her to stop moving.

She looked up once, panting heavily and her head dropped, passing out from exhaustion. Dodger released his bite and panted heavily, his own wounds taking a toll on him.

Fagin shakily walked over to him, getting Dodger to turn his head towards him. "You did it, boy. You saved her," Fagin said with a smile, hugging the terrier. Dodger retsed his head on his master's shoulder, his ears dropped.

However, Dodger passed out due to the pain. "Dodger?!" Fagin gasped. Einstein went over to Rose, using his large nose to get the unconscious pup onto his back.

Fagin picked Dodger up, letting his legs dangle below him. They had to get back to the barge before anyone saw.
Rita looked over her shoulder, seeing that the big dog was gone, seeing nothing but a blood spot from where the big dog laid.
