Note: a short period of time has passed since end of last chapter. Now she actually meets the one in charge at the beginning of this chapter. I write things since they come to my mind and don't leave until I put them down. So, do it mainly for myself. Though, I do appreciate if (even) people like what I am writing. Especially since once told that I tell instead of showing while taking a creative writing class.

So, to Petronille, thank you. And I really don't know how long this story is going to be. Thought I was going to wrap it up before 30 chapters; since there is so much to cover. However, with certain things happening in all verses. I am really rethinking this. And for the time being and several chapters; Rachel is going to find herself in the MCU (this includes Agents of SHIELD, and mostly).

She awakens to find herself in what appears to be a small cell. She gets up. Looking down she sees she is in some kind of uniform. She senses their presence before looking up. She is surprised to see Xavier. And the other man she has never seen before. Charles speaks. "You are a stranger in an unknown land. This man can help you, because I know how adaptable you are. I read some of your thoughts." He waits.

The other man takes over. "I trust Charles Xavier. And that is why I am going to let you out. I had put you here as a precaution. Xavier explained that you have come from another reality. But when I and my team first found you, we were unsure. Our world has seen a sudden and rapid influx of heroes and extraterrestrials.

And I had wanted to make sure you weren't a threat. Then your professor showed up after having sensed your presence, telling me you weren't one. My name is Nick Fury. He has put his faith in you. And since I trust his judgement, so do I. Plus, and your abilities are exactly what will be needed for an assignment that has come up.

That is if you agree. At which point, I will have to let you go. You aren't a prisoner here. Though, I am hoping you agree." He tells her. "This assignment it would be as myself. Or because of what the Phoenix has to offer?" She inquires. He smirks. "How about both. And that is another reason I know you aren't a threat. Your capabilities could have easily gotten into my brain. But your control is precise. So, what will it be, Rachel Maximoff?" Fury questions.

"Since I trust Xavier, and he trusts you, then I do also. I will take this assignment. And a place on your team like you are hoping. Plus, this travelling that you have planned for me. I would relish. Now about this first assignment." She says backing away from the bars as he releases her from being confined. The two walk side by side as they go to this office. He lays the folder down. "This is the assignment…" He tells her.

Her and the partner she has been assigned, make it just in time to have missed the action that clearly has taken place. One of their targets turns at having heard their footsteps ready to attack once more. However, halts their movements upon seeing her partner. "Barton, what are you doing here? I take it Fury has sent you." He says.

"The pleasantries can be saved for later. More will be on their way shortly. And I assure you we don't want to be here for that. Wasting time is not something we need right now." She interjects. Seeing that he is going to speak again, Clint beats him to it. "She's my partner for this mission." He takes Jane's hand. "Hold on." He tells them as the two agents take the other's hand.

The prince looks unsure. "It is fine. I can anchor us. I 'll explain my abilities later." She tells the others. "You sure seem to have a thing for redheads, Barton." He adds. The three laugh at this and Hawkeye's clear awkwardness. The four are gone the next moment, Clint's embarrassment no longer of importance.

The four land on the structure. Hawkeye falls forward as Rachel checks him. "…have to do again." They hear. "Could we please not?" Clint manages to get out, still struggling to recover. "Do you need assistance, Hawk?" Rachel asks. "No. I've almost got it." He answers. She sees Jane turn. They are greeted by a man. "Welcome to Asgard, Jane Foster, Clinton Barton. I've heard a lot about you. The greetings are for you as well stranger." Heimdall speaks.

"Clint and I are glad to be of service to you and your people, Heimdall." She turns to Thor. "I am sure that Jane needs to be handled. And while you are attending to her, Clint and I can get attire more appropriate to Asgardian culture, Thor if you will." She tells him. "Of course, my lady." He answers. Rachel puts her arm around Clint's supporting him seeing that he is still weak.

The alarm goes off. "Clint stay here. And protect them. And no buts. Fury put me in charge." She says. She and Thor take off at the same time. They land in what serves as Asgard's version of a jail. "Return to your cells. And no harm will come to you, you have my word." Thor tells the prisoners. She looks amused at the punch thrown his way. She powers up before throwing herself into the fray.

She sends a surge out knocking some unconscious before hitting one in the face that had evaded her. Enjoying the fight. It has been so long she has been able to let loose. And while she tends to keep her emotions in check due to housing the Phoenix. The things she has been feeling since her world died haven't been entirely positive. Using this opportunity to channel all the negativity. The Phoenix garb appears before changing to red.

Sif and Jane have a moment of confrontation. The emotions for one prince behind the stare down. The moment quickly passes as each continues on their way. Frigga leads the way with Jane behind her. Making their way to what will be Jane's quarters for the time being. All unaware physically of the infiltration taking place, though can definitely feel it. Jane refuses to stay in her room, so it is quickly decided that she will accompany Frigga.

Frigga has told Jane and Clint to hide behind pillars. Clint wants to protest but his objective is keeping Jane safe. But if something happens to Frigga, he will be letting Thor, Rachel and Fury down. Rachel may be a stranger to him. But Fury gave them an assignment and asked for him to accompany her, it is the least he can do. Therefore, he is waiting quite reluctantly.

He puts his finger to his lips as he faces Jane. Prepping his bow in case something goes wrong. He moves when he sees Frigga has lost the upper hand. His arrow deflects after hitting Krush. He lashes out, having moved before he becomes aware of what he is doing. Striking to hit Krush once more just as the sword in thrust into Frigga's back. And Thor appears.

Krush knocks the bow out of his hands. Grabbing his left before making an awkward movement. The action brings Clint to his knees. And a scream forth. Another more fatal blow is about to be dealt the archer when Rachel appears, knocking Krush to the side with almost no effort. Krush and Malekith manage to escape.

Rachel goes to see Jane. Leaving the family alone to mourn. Using her abilities to dampen Clint's pain. And bring him to where they are. "Jane if you would, we are going to the infirmary. Before joining the others." Rachel tells the other woman. The scientist follows quietly torn as to where she should be. Helping her love or accompanying people who can keep her safe.

Jane stays in the corner. Rachel has managed to keep Barton calm. "Bite onto this." She tells him handing him a smooth piece of wood. "Jane if you could distract him as much as possible." She tells the other woman as she takes Clint's arm in her hand. The sweat and groan appear at her actions. The pain shooting up and down Clint's arm as Rachel sets his arm.

Before pulling with as much might as necessary, Clint's mouth in the form of a scream. Though the noise isn't as loud due to the object in it. "Jane if you could hand me the splint." She commands. "You were supposed to have stayed hidden. And that is why you are in this predicament." She tells him. "What was I supposed to have done, let them die in the process?" He fires back, after spitting the wood out of his mouth.

Wrapping the splint as Jane holds them momentarily. "Yes. We are all soldiers here. We know what is at stake. You jumping the gun could have jeopardized Jane. Not to mention yourself. Fury didn't assign you to get yourself killed. You're lucky Thor and I showed up when we had. Come they are going to have a memorial for Frigga soon." She says as she has finished binding his wound.

Jane is by Thor's side. Rachel next to Odin with Clint next to them. She and Clint are given orbs like the others. Rachel holds his as he arches his bow as best he can, not wanting to be left out. His expertise allows him to fire despite only having one arm. Ignoring the pain the movement cost him. The splint remaining in place.

Rachel hands his orb over after he is done. Letting them go. "Beautiful." She whispers. While sensing the sorrow coming from her partner. She puts her hand on his shoulder. Both remaining quiet. Her other hand takes Odin's to show her support in his grief. And hopefully, a sign of goodwill that mortals are no different from Asgardians.

The four join the rest of Thor's friends. Fandral immediately stands upon their arrival. "Who are you?" He questions looking straight at Rachel. The others try to hide their sniggers. Volstagg grabs his arm. "Know isn't the time for that, you fool. Though he has a good point, we know enough about the archer. But you, maiden are a different story." He says. The others look on quietly.

'What exactly do you need to know?' She questions. The others not expecting that. "I can also do this." She tells them as another round makes it way to them clearly on their own. "And that doesn't include the entity that inhabits me. That allows me to make anything I want possible. Though of course, power that strong requires control. And so far as I know I am the only one that has been able to do so. Now for the game plan." She tells them, taking a sip of the mead in front of her. Her ability to drink the strong mug in its entirety wins the rest of Thor's friends over (this excludes Fandral, whom clearly was sold the moment he saw her.

Clint and Rachel accompany him to see Loki. "…enough. No more illusions." Thor says. "Now you see me, brother." Loki responds. "I did not come to share our grief. Instead I offer a chance of a far richer sacrament." Thor adds. "Go on." Loki requests. "You must be truly desperate to come to me for help." Loki adds.

Clint moves. Rachel stops him. "I know how much you hate him. But it will have to wait." She tells him. "What makes you think you can trust me?" Loki inquires. "I don't. Mother did…You betray me. And I will kill you" Thor answers. "When do we start?" Loki asks. Thor makes a move to free his wayward brother.

Rachel approaches him as she keeps an eye on Clint. "Don't worry, Thor. If he tries to get away, I and Clint won't let him. Not after the things he has done." She hasn't stopped staring at Loki intently as she has said this. To which, he just smirks. 'As if anything they do can stop me.' Her grip on his wrist tightens as she is unshackling him. He knows he needs to watch himself now, her reaction has told him something he hadn't foreseen. And the last thing he needs is a telepath. 'Yes, I would keep that in mind.' She replies.

They start walking as Loki is making jokes. She can tell Thor isn't amused. And neither is she. Clint though is not because he hates the guy. But because of his personality. And even though, he is preventing the laugh from coming out. The smile on his face isn't enough to want to wipe Loki's off his face. Rachel keeping an eye on all of them.

And the two almost lose it when he changes Thor's appearance. Rachel lets Clint know that is enough. "Alright, break it. Or the next one might see you unconscious. And back in your cell." Clint says. Loki turns to him. "Still sore Barton." Rachel gets in the way again. As the archer has made a sudden move to their unlikely ally.

"Clinton." She warns. Taking her hand off his chest. She turns to Loki. "The next time you provoke him. I won't stop him. And even though, he is human. He has already shown he has the intelligence and capability to best you, trickster:" She informs him. Pulling something out of the pouch she had been carrying.

"At least give me a dagger, weapon something." Loki says. They laugh again. And do so again at Thor's comment. "I thought you liked tricks." She hands what she has pulled out, to Clint. "This is something the doctors gave me. It will help with your arm." She tells him. Since he is unsure of how it will work, he puts his arm out for her. She lays it on. And the substance takes over, coating his extremity. "It's not much. And may not heal it. But it will help support and subdue the pain, until we can get it checked properly." She says before they continue on their way.

They see Jane and Sif coming their way. "You're" Jane starts to say. "Loki, you may have heard of me." He responds as Jane moves forward before smacking him. "That was for New York." She tells him. She and Clint laugh again. The smile on Loki's face isn't escaped by them. "I like her." Loki answers. They start to leave as the guards appear.

"You figured out how to fly this thing? Loki questions. "How hard can it be?" Thor answers. "Here let me." Rachel says. Everything springs to life. "How did you?" "Simple. The ship has an essence and I was able to talk to it." She replies. The ship takes off. And everything is as quiet as it can possibly be in the circumstance.

Jane faints. "Oh dear, is she dead?" Loki asks. "Jane." Thor says. Clint and Rachel go to help her up. Thor takes over piloting. "I'm okay." Jane responds. They try to ignore Loki's complaining rant. When Thor suddenly pushes him out. The sign that it is time to leave. They let Thor take Jane. She and Clint stand side by side. Following the couple. Rachel anchors them so they land gently on the flying boat.

"You lied to me. I'm impressed." Loki states. "I'll handle this." Rachel says about the ships coming their way. She causes one to collide into another. "Fandral." Thor says. "Right for Asgard and you my lady." He says looking at Rachel. The others save Jane give her looks. She turns the other way not impressed with the gesture.

(scene change, slightly)

"If it were easy everyone would do it." "Are you mad?" "Possibly." The brothers exchange. "TA DA." Loki says as they manage the breach. She gets out, staying by the ship'. "Are you sure you are okay, Jane? I can suppress some of the symptoms." She tells them. "But I thought?" Thor says. "I can trick it." She interjects. "Let's just keep moving." He answers.

"No, not just of Odin. You think you alone loved mother. You had her tricks but I had her trust." "Trust. Was that her last expression? Trust where you let her die." "What help were you in your cell?" "Who put me there? WHO PUT ME THERE?" "You know damn well. You know damn well who. She wouldn't want us to fight." "Well she wouldn't actually be shocked." "I wish I could trust you."

Rachel approaches Thor. She wants to ask the obvious question. But that would be pointless and condescending. She sees Clint approach Loki. Clint hesitantly sits next to him. Loki turns to him uncertainty on his face. "I may never like you. But I do know what it is like trying to get out from your older brother's shadow." He says not elaborating more. He has said more than enough to one he doesn't trust.

Loki gets up. Looking at Thor. "Trust my rage." He adds. Rachel looks around at the terrain here. She realizes what she is wearing isn't exactly appropriate. She changes to the look she had when she, Gambit and the others had been in space. She sees that Clint would like a change. She gives that of his recent uniform only with long sleeves. And without the sunglasses.

"Alright, are you ready? Thor questions Jane. "I am." Loki answers. The two turn to look at him. Rachel and Clint are watching from where they were told to stay put. Thor had told them they would be the backup. A last resort, especially with Clint still trying to figure the brace out. Plus, their abilities work best long and short range, so doesn't matter where they are.

(scene change, slightly)

"You know this plan of yours is going to get us killed" "Possibly." "You still don't trust me brother." "Would you?" "No I wouldn't." Loki replies taking a dagger out, before stabbing Thor. Jane follows them. Clint makes a move to follow as well. Rachel halts that from happening. "Don't worry. It was part of their plan." "How come no one told me?" "No one told Jane either. And we knew how yow would react if you had." She answers.

(another slight scene change)

They see Loki shield Jane as Thor makes his move. Rachel gets up. "Come on. Looks like the last resort has shown its face." She tells him. He follows her. Notching an arrow preparing now that the plan obviously failed. They are almost there when they see the grenade being thrown. And Loki pushing Jane out of the way.

They reach them as Thor takes off. "Watch them." She tells Barton before taking off after the prince. She arrives in time to prevent Krush from killing Thor. Not knowing that she left Loki and Clint to fend for themselves. Krush managed to get the drop on her. She lands in the mountain. Clint stays with Jane as Loki goes to Thor's aid.

She is getting up. And starting to make her way to them. She and the others helpless with what is happening. One moment the blade goes through Krush's chest. Before he turns, grabs Loki and brings him forward impaling him as well. All they hear is Thor's outburst. "I'm a fool. I'm a fool." "Stay with me." "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." "It's alright. I'll tell father what you did here…:" "I didn't do it for him." Loki finishes.

She, Jane and Clint make it to them as Thor lets his grief show once more. Just after Loki has succumbed to his injury. "Thor, I'm sorry. But we need to get back to Earth." She tells him. They ignore the moment that Jane and Thor are having. They do hear that Jane is blaming herself. They hear the ringtone. They follow the couple.

They walk into the apartment. Ignoring the woman who is ranting to Jane. Rachel turns to Clint. "How is your arm?" "It's holding up. This thing is working well enough." He replies. Clint stops the doctor before he can try to hug him. But doesn't ignore the greeting. "Hello, Dr. this is Rachel Maximoff. She is my partner for right now." Barton says. Rachel is handling Thor's scratches now.

As they are prepping, Rachel tells Clint to stay with Darcy and Ian. She and Thor will watch Jane and the doctor. The three find a safe haven. He watches from behind the structure. He rushes out leaving the two knowing they will be safe, Rachel runs before taking off. She loops around before doubling back and grabbing him. His lack of listening is going to have to be reported to Fury, but they first have to make it out alive.

Once on the ground again. "I told you to stay put. If something goes wrong, I will be counting on you to get the population to safety. I know it is hard to be on the sidelines, Clint. But you need to do this. There are more important things than your ego. Thor and I can handle this. If we fail, you need to take the others and run." She tells him.

She returns to Thor's side. Though that isn't for long, as he and Malekieth keep disappearing and reappearing. She runs to where the others are. Taking as many elves out as she can. "Clint, I'll handle this. Get them out of here." She tells him seeing that the shit is hitting the fan. They see Jane and the doctor in the distance. "Nice one." Clint tells Ian after he brought the car down on the elves. Rachel leaves them once more.

She sees Malekieth approaching the ship and the convergence. But doesn't sense Thor in the vicinity. Clearly, it's her turn to show what she is made of. She powers up as much as possible without letting the Phoenix appear. She materializes in front of him. And waits to see what his next move will be. She tries to stop the Aether as much as possible.

She feels Thor's presence. Hearing the conversation, the three had. One is picked up and brought to her. She is directing Thor as much as possible. She lands next to him as he addresses Malekieth. Holding her hand out for one, which is in her hand the next moment. She follows his lead and throws hers.

She is trying to help him up as Jane nears. Not that it works since he isn't responding. Clint is behind Darcy and Ian. "Everyone okay?" The doctors asks. She sees Thor looking up as Jane is resting against him. She looks up at the sky. She feels the hand on her shoulder. "I'm good. It's just that this world is amazing. More beautiful than the one I came from.' She answers.

She is by Thor's side as Odin is addressing him. She remains quiet and looking at the floor. It is more than enough she is the audience of what is supposed to be a private meeting. To draw any attention to herself would be rude and disrespectful. She turns though when she notices Thor doing so. They start walking when she senses Odin's pattern is different. Though knowing it isn't the time nor her place to reveal the impostor. "Before we return home; Thor, there is one thing I must still do." She tells him.

"I present to you, The Collector." The woman says. "Asgardians and the Lady Phoenix, it's an honor." He says. "You know why we are here." Sif replies. "Of course. But if I may ask, why not keep it secure in your own vault?" "The tesseract is already on Asgard. It is unwise to keep two Infinity stones together." Volstagg answers.

"That's very wise." The collector responds. Sif hands it over. "I can assure you. It will be absolutely safe here in my collection." He informs them. "See that it is." Sif replies. Sif takes leave first. Rachel waits until Volstagg has left before falling. She hesitates before moving, unsure of the collector's intentions. She pushes her doubts away though. She can't mess with things that have yet to pass.

"Yes. This is excellent work, Rachel. You may not have been here or with us very long but you are proving yourself to be an asset. One that can quickly move up the ranks, if you so chose to stay. I have another assignment for you" he adds, closing the folder after editing his approvals on the mission statement. Fury, Coulson and Mai are standing behind the other side of the desk. "Sirs, Ma'am."

"You are to take Bobbi and Barton with you" Coulson instructs her. She takes her leave knowing she has been dismissed. The voice halts her. "Oh, and Rachel, tell Barton, I sent you two. Coulson being alive should still be kept a secret" Fury adds. She nods before turning back around and walking out of the office.

She takes the lead as the would be couple is behind her. Hawkeye starts pulling an arrow out, preparing to notch it. "Are you sure about this? The file says the guy is far from being stable." Morse looks at him skeptically. "Are you sure you are a SHIELD agent?" Rachel cuts both of them off; seeing that Barton is about to get defensive and snarky. "He is still very much confused; so, it is unlikely to come to anything. I will use my abilities to keep him calm."

The man is standing with his back to them. His brown hair unkept and reaching his shoulders. She is able to pick up that even though he is preoccupied with looking at the exhibit before him, she knows on some level; he is aware of their presence. She slowly starts walking forward; the other two remaining where they are per her request.

She is almost upon him as he turns to face them. She halts her movements. "Sergeant Barnes, I know you are very confused. And despite the weapons, you see my teammates have, it is only for precaution if you strike. But the one who gave us orders to come get you, really hopes that it doesn't come to this. And no, this organization will be nothing like Russia's and what you experienced." He remains quiet unsure of what to do; not willing to trust what is real or fake anymore. "It will be okay. If you come with us; I will do the best I can to help you with that."
