Note: Introducing more OC's, though some of them might have been canon if they had a chance at life. Though one is an OC as far as I know; the possibility of them existing as far as I know has yet to occur. And with this while they had the possibility of being canon, I made up their names (I hope). And rather than repeat myself, the disclaimer is in my profile. I did forget about The Wizard of Oz reference. That doesn't belong to me. And there will be a brief brawl between Rachel and another character. And a long-buried relationship will be rekindled of sorts.

Walking into the room, "I want to see them; where are they?" "Easy, lass…" "Shut up, Raza!" "" I want to see my children and find out who sold us out. My father told me that you and Hepzibah rescued those who had been on the ship I came on. That they had been on their way to the Skrull prison on their ship that we had been on. Don't placate me…"

"That is enough! You may be my daughter but I won't have you bully my crew, Rachel. I brought them for you anyway." "MOMMY!" She turns to see Katherine and Sean making their way to her. Though since Sean is barely learning to walk; going fast is still a bit of a problem for him. Katherine hugs her legs refusing to let go; as she picks Sean up in her arms the moment he gets close enough.

"Red, where is everyone else?" Johnny asks. "And what is this about us being betrayed?" Sue inquires. "The Skrulls got the drop on us. This only would have had happened if they knew we were coming. I picked people I trusted; so it had to be one of them masquerading as us. I am still weak, so I can't probe anyone's mind deep enough. And I am the only telepath on board.

They no doubt did their homework, so asking questions may not work. We are just going to have to wait to see who was behind everything. And when I do, it isn't going to be pretty. They are going to pay for what I just went through and being forced to leave most of my team in their custody." Kitty appears next to her. "I'm alright, Katya." "Well, what are we going to do now?"

"You are going to need a ship." "My dad is right. They clearly took ours, when they had been taking all you as prisoners. Plus, we need to see how Earth is faring and report back to Fury. I don't want any of you to try to deflect the blame from me. I was the team leader and this mission wound up being a failure." If we are going to need a new ship, we can go to Four Freedoms Plaza," Reed tells her. 'There is only one I can think of that would do this; but she is too loyal to him and his family and friends at this point to do so, and yet…'

She slams her hands on the desk; as he stands up. "We were ambushed. I need a ship to get back to them." "Well, I don't care. You failed at the mission I gave you." "Damnit, Fury! People we care about and recruited to help us." "They like you, knew the risks. This is on you, Rachel. I will not sacrifice my teams so you can fail again." "This is on me is it. You are the one who came to me for help. And if it hadn't been for all those I care about; I would have refused." "Rachel Summers-Maximoff, if you go against my orders; you will be and yours will be considered enemies of the state." "I don't work for you. Not in this reality anyway. None of us do, you have no jurisdiction over us. And good luck with that; you are still a secret governmental organization." "Come on!" She says leaving the room; her assigned team following her. None bothering to look back.

No sooner than they step in Four Freedom Plaza, than she goes her own way. "Rachel?!" "All of you don't have to join me. There is something that I have to take care of." Breaking the link to prevent them seeing her intentions. Reaching out she searches for the mental signature; finding two identical ones. 'Well, my hunch was right. It could still not be her. However, she is the only one of their kind to ever get close to the Fantastic Four.'

'Now I am going to have to watch to see which one trips up first. Now that I know their locations, I will go to one of them first.' She enters the lab to see Reed, Ben and Susan working on something. "Rachel. You are here. Good, you can help us!" Reed tells her explaining what he needs of her. "I found it!" She recoils sees Katya appearing out of nowhere phasing through the workstation. "Are you okay?" "Is it that obvious, Katya?" "No. I just know you. Whatever it had been from earlier is still bothering you."

"Where is everyone else anyway?" "Oh, Hank, went to one of the guest rooms. And Johnny is entertaining the kids. As for the Starjammers, I have no idea." "It's alright. Thank you, Kitty." She gets up. "I am going to go clear my mind." Kitty watches her quiet. "Oh, but Rachel?!" Reed says. 'I was hoping to show her what I had found and see what she thinks.' "Is she okay?" "She will be. Sometimes, she just needs time when something is bothering her" Kitty answers.

(scene change)

Following the voices, she appears in the doorway, the boy sees her the next moment. "Rachel!" "Hey, Franklin." She keeps calm walking into the room. The woman she knows she left wouldn't have enough time to be here. "My mom was reading us a bed time story. And Uncle Johnny was being himself." "Yes, I see that." Johnny stops juggling the flames he conjured. "Oh, come on, Red?!" "You are right. So mature, I don't know what she sees in you." She notices that Sue briefly glances in their direction at this remark. 'Well, there it is. For a moment, I was beginning to think I had the wrong one.'

"I just came to check on you guys. I am going to call it a night. But go look for my family first." "Johnny, Johnny!" He turns back to his sister looking at him with concern. "Sorry. I just…I don't know exactly what it is but something is wrong with Rachel?" He feels the tug on his pants, looking down he sees Valeria looking up at him. "You weren't done, Uncle Johnny." "You're right. But only a little longer; we can't have you go past your bed time lapsing."

She finds herself in the dark. The only illumination coming from powering up as The Phoenix. Upon hearing the door to the lab start to move; she masks herself from the person. 'Not even Susan can detect me, I made sure of it unlike last time. However, if it really is her and she tries she will feel me on some degree. Let's see what she is doing here first?' Susan Richards walk in. 'I really hope Rachel is here. She had seemed off earlier. I already checked everywhere else.'

She pauses at what she does see. "Quick sound the alarm." She manages to get to the counter barely pressing it. And not enough time to search for her doppelganger's location as she is knocked out the next moment. Rachel making her way to where both Susans had been only to see them gone. 'She can be anywhere now. I am just going to have to try harder now.'

"What is that?" "Someone set the alarm off." "Roberta, bring up the security cameras for me." All of them feeling the jolt beneath their feet. Kitty disappears before reappearing moments later. "Reed. That isn't our only problem." "Someone opened to door to the Negative Zone," "Where's Sue, Stretch?" "Oh, my stars and garters; out of the pan and into the fire." "She isn't the only one missing. Where is my daughter?"

This is quickly answered as one of the walls collapses in front of them. Rachel having pummeled right into Susan. "What have you done? Where is she?" The two hit the ground hard, barely avoiding everyone. Rachel keeping her grip not letting the woman beneath her move. "Get away from my sister, Rachel; this is the only warning I will give you!" Johnny, wait, you don't understand?!"

The attack is fierce and long; though it doesn't touch her, going straight through her. Her companion finally collapsing after no longer being able to take the flame's magnitude. Catching her, "KATYA!"' She lays her on the ground. Her eyes flashing yellow as the flames appear around her. As she begins to walk forward, Reed gets in her way. "We need to figure out the situation first before things get further out of hand."

Using her psychic abilities, she shoves him to the side. Continuing to walk forward once more; to see Sue step in front of Johnny. "You can try your best. But not even you can save him from me. Reed is right though. We don't have time to drag this out. Let them see what I have figured out." Sue is in the air before any of them can react. Johnny attempting to reach her but there is already a psychic barrier around her.

Rachel digs deep; bypassing all the mental barriers that have now been put in place in their mind. Sue can't help but scream as she is forced to change her appearance. Johnny lowers himself at seeing this, touching the ground. She is released falling to the ground, turned away from them. "If that isn't my sister, then where is she?" "Well, show them who you really are. Tell them?" The green skinned alien turns to face them. "It can't be…Lyja?" Their search is halted as the building suddenly jerks, throwing them.

Getting up; she sees the others are still out; except for the Richards kids, Ben, Johnny and Lyja. All who are gone. "Johnny, Ben, Franklin, Valeria!?" "Rachel?! We have a bit of a problem. Where are you?" "I am still in the lab. The others are still passed out. Give me a moment. I'll be right there, Ben." She is so going to pay for this. I don't care what her explanation is."

She appears in midair to see Ben and Johnny battling creatures she has never personally seen before. Franklin and Valeria becoming separated from them. She and Johnny noticing and are about to go grab the children, when she appears holding onto each of them. "You have them?" "Yes. And do you really need to even ask." "Good." Her grips loosening as they start falling.

"WHERE IS MY SISTER, SKRULL?" She barely manages to avoid his attack. "She saved us. It was so cool!" Franklin tells them. Rachel has the two of them in her embrace as the attack comes out of nowhere. The thing grabbing ahold of Lyja. Johnny evades it. "JOHNNY!" Lyja quickly pulls herself together. 'I knew she would.' 'He didn't desert me like I probably deserve this time.' The two concentrating their combined powers to the creature; until it is unable to hold itself together any longer.

"Come with us?!" …For old times sake. "Johnny, I hate to break up your moment. But we need to go now. Lyja, this is your last chance. "Rachel?" "Okay. But seriously, you need to make it fast." "Johnny!" "Lyja?!" "I get that you are angry. But you are going to have to talk to me. I am staying to figure out more about myself. Plus, I realize now, that the chance of there being us is almost nonexistent. I am sorry for everything. I hope you can forgive me again in the future."

He turns to look at the portal before she makes it close. Franklin and Valeria sitting next to Ben. As the hovercraft lands hard on the surface beneath them. She quickly jumps out; helping Ben with Franklin and Valeria. She turns to see that Johnny hasn't moved, "Rachel!" She sees Kitty and the others coming toward them. "What happened?" "I will explain. Tell me what you gathered on this side." The Starjammers standing around her as Reed and Ben are each holding one of the children. As they leave with Kitty, Reed and Hank each telling her what knowledge; they further gained upon gaining consciousness. "Katherine and Sean?" "Oh, they never once awakened." The voice tells them. "Thank you, Roberta."

She enters the room to see that he is looking down; lost in his own world. 'Surely, he hasn't been here and like this the whole time. It isn't like him. Only one thing could make him this way.' "Are you okay?" He moves at hearing her voice. "It always come back to her. I get it. If this is the case; what I don't get is the distance that is always between the two of you? You two have clearly always managed to overcome your problems."

"You mean like you and Pietro?" "He and I are completely different. I know that she has made a lot of mistakes involving you and being honest. My point is that; she never meant to intentionally and maliciously hurt you. Not even the first time, when she had masquerade as Alicia. You know this. It is why you keep forgiving her. Besides it is also who you are; your love for her is never going to leave. She is the love of your life.

She always has been. She always will be. Plus, she did save us. She could have easily gone through with their plan; and killed all of you. It sounds like pressure; but the decision is yours. I just want to make sure to remind you of the facts and things that exist between the two of you." "Rachel, thank you. But she has made her choice; and one thing I have never done is force a female in any regard. If she doesn't want to be with me, that is the end of the matter." She is left alone. "We are leaving in the morning. Be ready."

She is once again sitting in the dark; The Phoenix's manifestation the only source of illumination. Lost in her thoughts; "Rachel?" Reed asks. Upon not getting a response; "I am calling it a night. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Well, okay then. I will see you in the morning." The firebird on her arm squeaks, moving a little closer to her. As she continues to sit there in silence.

She suddenly turns in the chair. The movement causing The Phoenix to move from her arm to her shoulder. "I know it may be stupid. But I am going to try anyway. And if he doesn't like it; he'll get over it." After touching the button, she turns around; getting up from the chair, nearing the portal. She goes through it the next moment. 'I have to make this quick. That gateway can't be open for very long unsupervised.'

Using the Phoenix's ability to travel quickly and her telepathy she searches for her target; finding her as fast as she can. She Is battling the creature that came out of nowhere. And is more than confused when it suddenly turns and runs. 'There is no threat behind me; because it wouldn't have hesitated in letting its presence known. That was weird.'

She turns to see Rachel as the Phoenix in all its glory. "Which do you prefer; Lyja the Lazerfist, or Lyja Storm?" "Lyja, will do just fine. What are you even doing here?" "We could use your help. And if you really want to continue your self-isolation; you can when we return. I don't blame you for your hesitancy. But I also know you would never abandon those you love and care about; well these same people are suffering the same thing. Would you really let Johnny and the others down?

"That was a low blow; using him against me." "Even if I hadn't, we both know this would have been your motivation anyway. They have my family and friends' captive. They are his friends as well. He wouldn't just leave them like that. If you are going to join us; we need to get back. The portal can't be open much longer and remain stable."

She walks into the room; Katherine lets go of her hand running to where Franklin and Valeria are. Sean tries to as well; however, she holds onto his hand, knowing he will more than likely trip. 'Once he gets more adjusted to walking and we aren't in a hurry, he can have free reign.' Picking him up; she makes her way to them. He squirms. "You are going to have to wait."

She sees Sue standing next to Reed; his arm around her supporting her. "Are you okay?" "Yes." "Reed filled me in. I woke up in the corners of one of the more unused areas of this building." "Well, I am glad you are okay. We were starting to think that you were going to be a part of this rescue mission. But that would have also defeated the purpose of what Lyja had been trying to accomplish; if you had really been their prisoner.

What have you, Hank and Kitty come up with, Reed?" "We added modifications to it. They should be able to hold up what we are going to face. It helps that your father and his crew allowed it. Given the limited amount of time; building one from scratch was out of the question. It will definitely be able to hold off enough of the Skrull armada if they come after us."

"Don't worry about that. I will have us covered. And we are going to have another helping us. "You can come out now." "Lyja?" "We are going to need her help. The mistrust and hesitancy can be focused on later." "But what if she does betray us?" "She won't. She knows what it will cost her. And the hell she will pay if she does. It is still your ship, Dad. Are we ready and allowed to board?" "After you."

The ship stops; its stealth mode on, cloaking it from prying eyes. "There it is. Are you sure about this, Rachel?" "I am. I am not risking you guys again. All of you are to stay here; plus, the others are going to need your assistance. And I am going to need all of you to get out of here as fast as you can. Lyja?" "I'm ready.' "Okay. Make sure you keep the shield up until I say it is okay." "Rachel, wait, I…" "I know, Dad. I do too."

"I am still not completely comfortable with this plan" "Well, though, you are the only one who can survive breathing in space; along with me." Rachel is keeping Lyja levitated next to her. "Now where would they be?" "There" Lyja points as she sends an image to Rachel which section. "Okay. We are going to get closer. They more or likely know we are here. Our window is closing. If you really aren't okay, with what I am about to do; I can take you back to the ship?" "No. They stopped being my people a long time ago.

"Reed, Hank, Kitty and Starjammers get the ship ready." "I need you to keep quiet. I need to concentrate. There is interference I am picking up that is preventing me from communicating with them. As she closes her eyes, the manifestation of the Phoenix is enormous. And nothing like its previous manifestations have ever been. Another that is her size appears behind her as well. Both looking to the stars as they cry out.

Their head perks up. "Aunt Red?" "Rachel?" "Sis?" "All of you get away from your cell walls, now!" No sooner than they have done this; then they are gone revealing nothing but open space. Her eyes and body start pulsing with energy. She puts one hand out. Concentrating everything she is feeling into this one attack; jerking her hand backward, before letting it fall by her side. The entire of the ship's side pulling away from its structure.

The Phoenixes crying out again. "Keep an eye on her." She tells the smaller one; before she moves toward where the others are. Each of them is now close to the edge as they can possibly get. "Rachel?!" "Aunt Red?!" Soaring past them before reappearing, "did someone say jailbreak? Wait, where are Alex and Samuel?" "They took our brothers some time ago. That they had planned to torture them" Paige tells her.

"Dad, drop the shield." They look around upon being transported to the ship. Reed, Kitty and Hank approach. "Help them get those things off. Ask Lyja, she is more familiar with this technology. Or yes, you can short circuit them if you wish, Katya." "Rachel, where are Alex and Sam?" "They are still on the ship. Paige told me that they were taken away some time ago. The plan hasn't changed." "But, Rachel…?!" "Dad, please, you have to get them out of here. Plus, you need to trust and know that I have this covered."

She lands in the center of the ship. Just in time to see Sam and Alex fall from the apparatuses they had been bound in. Both unconscious and moaning in pain; as almost all of the Skrull armada on the ship appear with guns in their hands. Guns aimed at her. "Did you think we wouldn't be ready for your return, Phoenix?" "Clearly, you weren't; since I took part of your ship off like it was nothing!"

Those behind her hesitate at this. "You are right to be afraid." "Why do you think we took these two, especially this one?" He is holding Alex in his arms. She recoils at his statement. "You are so plain to read and manipulate, Rachel Summers-Maximoff. You are right; what they suffered is your fault. If only you hadn't left them."

Her head jerks slightly more in his direction. Her eyes and body engulfed in the Phoenix's energy once more. It starts burning everything brightly. The Skrull armada start fleeing, while their leader of this ship remains rooted in fear; as she starts walking toward him. "You want the Phoenix! Well here it is! I had warned you not to touch those I care about." For the briefest of moments, the green and yellow becomes red and yellow.

The Skrull leader looks at the chaos around him. "if you really value your life; you better flee now. You will not be given another opportunity." "Do you really think you will get away with this? There is not a race out there that will tolerate the Phoenix going on a rampage. Especially us; we would never forgive an assault." "I am willing to risk it. What I came for is more than worth it; I am counting on it."

"You're mad." "Yes, I daresay I am right now. And let them come after me; I have more than enough people to vouch for me and what led to this. It will help that one of your one will verify the story." "She isn't one of us. She's a traitor! Let her suffer the same fate all of you will." "Hopefully, it will be like the one you are about to."

She holds both hands out; open palmed and facing each other, before moving them away from the other, as the ship splits in half, from top to bottom. He rocks forward at the movement. He tries to run but doesn't get far. She appears in the distance just as the explosion occurs. Putting all her attention on keeping the ship behind her safe; the light and surge of energy don't even faze her. The red and yellow colors still evident on her suit.

She lands on the ship. Alex and Sam hovering behind her still unconscious. "Rachel?!" She looks to see the concerned and horrified expressions on their faces. Picking up their thoughts, she looks down. "I see this is a problem, Katya. But it is okay. I have things under control." It is green and yellow once more. "Oh, but that is how…Are you sure?" "I am. Really, I get it. But all of you need to trust me when I say I have it.

Katya, Reed if you two could take their shackles off manually." "Are they okay?" "Yes. They weren't electrocuted as frequently or as long as I had been. I will take them with me in order to heal them faster. Dad, I will be right behind all of you. Lingering here any longer isn't recommended or advised." Approaching her, "Aunt Red, no one knows better than I that the Phoenix is dangerous when this happens." "And just like you did once, I am able to pull myself in." The three are gone, leaving their friends and comrades with worry; fear and confusion at her trying to deny everything.

Both start moving, feeling the air around them circulating. "Rachel?" "Oh, good. You too are finally awake." They see nothing but the vastness of space around them. "Where are we?" "On the edge of the solar system that connects to the Milky Way. The others are closer to home than we are; if we hope to catch up, remember what I taught you. That is if you two feel well enough to do so?" "We'll manage" Sam says, to which Alex nods.

"Okay. I will keep ensuring that we don't lose oxygen." Alex and Sam are hovering in midair next to her. Their energy starts to make them glow. "Whenever you two are ready?!" Both propelling forward as sonic booms trails are left in their wakes. She can't help but laugh, "boys!" She moves forward as well right behind them. 'I guess it is a race now to see who can get there first.' The three managing to keep up with each other and side by side. All of them at the ship before they know it.

"They are here." "They are?" She keeps her distance seeing their dad and Lorna embrace Alex; as Paige and Warren are by Sam. She is about to turn and leave. 'After what they witnessed, they are better off without me.' "Mommy!" "Mama!" She turns to see Katherine and Sean in front of her. "I don't blame any of you with what you are feeling involving me. I am feeling the same. And all of you know not for myself but for all of you; and what it means."

'And while I refuse to give up the Phoenix, I can feel the hold that I once had slowly starting to slip. This reality having me feel things I never thought I would. In my time, it was easy to push and deal with my emotions there. The matter of life and death depended on it.' She feels the tug. "Katherine, what is momma doing?" "She's talking." "But her mouth isn't moving?" "Mom can talk differently than others. You will understand it later."

"Here, emotions can be displayed more freely. And at these weak moments; I am still having a hard time adjusting to this. And what it could mean and lead to, I am just afraid…Afraid that if I lose control, I could wind up hurting anyone of you." The hug is definitely unexpected. "But you aren't alone. We would never abandon you; even if you are having an identity crisis." "Your brother is right. You may not be a member of this team. But I like to think we are still friends?!" "Thank you, Steve."

She moves out of Alex's embrace. "Sis?" "It's alright. I mean it. I am resolute in not giving the Phoenix up. However, until I am able to handle the change; I will not be using it as much. But before that you risked and endured a lot for my sake. It doesn't matter that we are heroes and it is who we are; and it is what we do. I wish to give something to some of you. Something that had been denied to you; when they shouldn't have been.

James, Natasha, Steven, Sharon, Clinton, Johnny and Lyja come closer. She lets the energy gently envelope her; before it slowly pulses forward, engulfing all of them in a yellow light. Once it is gone, "uh, Rachel what was that?" They see six pre-teenagers now standing in front of them, with one excpetion. Each between the ages of ten to twelve. The adolescents look around before spotting them. "Oh, my stars and garters!"

"Mom?!" "Sean, Katherine?!" "What happened?" A boy clutching Sean's pant legs shows himself before quickly hiding behind him again. "Well, this was unintended. Who is this?" The boy peeks out before spotting them, letting go of the pants he moves forward. He appears to be the only exception. He can't be more than six. His hair means he can only belong to two couples. "Mom, Dad?" She turns to face her parents. "Anabel?"

The child is standing in front of them; continuing to look at them. Alex and Lorna not sure what to do. "Mom, Dad?!" "If what we are seeing is any indication…You had been pregnant, Lorna?" "No." "Like I said this was unexpected" Bending down, she reaches her arm out. "Its okay. You can show me." He takes her hand the next moment. After releasing it, "I see. His name is Dane Alexander Summers. Yes, they may not recognize or know you now; but they are your parents."

"Well, Dad, aren't you going to say something?" He breaks out of his shock. Clint moves forward before she is in his arms. "Mariah?!" Yeah, Dad. I'm here. I waited a long time to meet you. We all did. Where's Mom?" They turn to see the others. Their arms still wrapped around each other. The other boy with green hair standing in front of Johnny and Lyja. The two have their hands on his shoulders; pulling him forward. Each embracing him the next moment.

The last two couples remain standing in front of the children staring at them. Sharon the only one who starts moving forward. "Clint Roger, James Carter, it is easier that you two do it. Your parents tend to keep their emotions in check" Rachel tells them. Sharon is the first to continue making the first move. "Rachel?!" "Wait! Thank you." The children turn at their parents' voices. "Yes, thank you!" She turns her head, doing her best to keep her tears at bay.

Christopher, Kitty and the rest of her family that isn't occupied surround her. "You did good, Red. It is nice to be reminded at times that we can still have lives like regular people. We don't always have to sacrifice everything, just because we have chosen to be heroes. Besides, you have restored all the hurt they must have felt at these miscarriages. Thinking their children lost to them forever, before they even had a chance."

"Thanks, Katya!" She puts covers the hand on her shoulder with her own. "This is great! I have another grandkid." "That doesn't mean what you seem to think it does, Dad." "But doesn't it, Alex. Another child I get to spoil every chance I can get." "Uncle Alex, is right; grandpa." "I don't care. I won't let this ruin my fun, Hope."

The Young Avengers have been hesitant this whole time like the FF, Kitty and Hank who had been trying to give the families' privacy. 'Besides, see all this reminds me how much we don't fit in.' "That's not true, William. You guys are more than welcome to come over here." The group quickly joins them being absorbed into the celebration and conversation. The ship keeps moving as Ch'od and Raza have remained at the helm, continuing its journey back to Earth.
