Note: things are going to stop jumping now; with how I had been putting things out of sequence from how they happened in the comics. Though there will be time jumps, involving the future. And that person Rachel is going to wind up with and their children. And I made an allusion to him; in an earlier chapter; sooner than I had expected to do so. And there will have been some time that has passed.

And might change a couple of things that happen in the comics sooner than expected. Chapter is mainly certain characters having heart to hearts. Oh, and if there is no scene change; then it just means some time has passed in the same place, if any. Toward the end of the chapter has such an instance with little time occurring. And the OC's name will be revealed in the next chapter. Again, sorry for the note length. On to the story.

She hears the wind whistling as she continues to feel herself move. Not sure where she is; she tries to open her eyes again. Only to fail once more; and after a couple of more tries, she finally succeeds. If only barely, as her eyelid open not even an inch. To see nothing but black with lights that are sporadically distanced from another. 'Where am I? What is this place? Who am I? She closes her eyes again; as the darkness tainted with the light continues to envelop and lead her on her journey for the time being.

Seeing him sitting there in the dark; she slowly approaches. "I would ask if you are okay? But I can feel your hurt and sadness from here, elf?" "You are one of the last people I need to see right now." "Right, it's the face. I could change. Is this better?" He turns to see Amanda standing there. "Not exactly." "Sorry. It seems being human is still hard after all this time. I'll just leave." He moves and teleports in front of her. "It's fine, Phoenix. I appreciate you for trying. Its just seeing Rachel and then trying to discuss our break up with one of my ex's isn't one of the best ideas."

"I saw it in your mind. I just thought that since she is also one of your oldest friends; it wouldn't be much of a problem. Oh, I know someone who it shouldn't hurt to see." He stares down at the BAMF. "Is this better?" A smile appears on his face; as his tail moves in a circular motion. "Yes." The Phoenix BAMF teleports to be sitting on his shoulder; as the silence becomes comfortable for a while.

"You know that isn't true, right? You are worth more than that. And there are so many people who love and care about you. So, your relationships haven't worked out, Kurt. It has nothing to do with your appearance; and you know it. If it had been, they would never have bothered. And I am sorry that Rachel rejected you after wanting to take it to the next level. And I know it hurts that the only one that you seemed ready to marry you; turned you down. But like she said, it's not like she doesn't care. And you mean nothing to her. And I know words make it seem so easy. The pain will disappear in time. I'm sorry. I am not helping, again am I?!"

"It's okay. The band aid is going to have to be ripped off at one point. Thank you." "And what about you?" Reaching out, the Phoenix BAMF holds onto his shoulder with one hand; turning to look at Kurt in the face, blinking. "You said that adjusting to live as a human is harder than you thought. And none of those other times don't count; since you were either confused or weren't here long enough to try." Leaning back, to be sitting on his shoulder again. "Red, had a lot to do with it. She had been confused at first.

But I had been watching her for a while; I had recognized the familiarity between her, her niece and Jean, even though they hadn't been connected in that reality. That, and yet I had never seen one like her before; it is why she never lost control with me. Even though, she came close at times. Her experiences in the Age of Apocalypse reality made her tougher; but also lead her to sympathize with those who suffered. It is how she learned to turn her emotions off and on, like a switch. And where her control came from.

Entering her life, I showed her that there was more. It may have scared her at first. What she experienced as me seemed like dreams to her. But once she saw, that things were very much real. And those she thought were her enemies weren't that different from her; she came to see that serving under Apocalypse's thumb was something she no longer desired. And was tired of being his killing machine and lap dog. I know she showed you some of what she went through but not everything." His hand is grasped the next moment.

"Here." Kurt releasing the hand in his, moments later. "How did she do it?" "You know that the pain and torture isn't very different from your Rachel's; even though, the roots were different. She had people that kept her grounded. And to lose sight of that was never an option; otherwise she would have lost all of it. The same with here; it is why she went to the Shi'ar when she felt her control over me slipping enough. She may be stronger not just externally. But if she lost any those she cared about; she would feel like she would have nothing. She loved and cared more for all of you; then she did herself. And even though, knowing her sacrifice would hurt all of you. She would never change her mind on that decision."

"So that would be one of the reasons to explain the name you took; Phoenix R. Summers. You loved her." "I did. And yet knowing her reasons, doesn't make her pain dull any less. Like with you and Rachel; so, I guess we are in the same boat. But Rachel has taught me; that you can only make the best of a situation, even if it majorly sucks." Kurt smiles at this. "See its working. You are becoming more human. And how to fit in. And now know enough to never lose sight of who you truly are. I feel a little better." The Phoenix BAMF jumps down. Looking up at him, "good. Should I stay like this? Or change now?" "It's up to you, Phoenix." "Okay." Taking Kurt's hand in hers, 'for a little while longer.'

(scene change,, brief jump to the future, rest of the chapter)

The hall collapses behind him; just as he turns the corner. The thunder reverberating in the distance; before the silence comes out of nowhere. 'No. he couldn't have fallen. I am not ready to be king. Not that there will be much of a kingdom left; if he really has fallen. She would only be able to do much to recover this betrayal and assault.' He starts running again.

'Hopefully, I can find her. It would help if our mental link were open. She would want to make sure I am okay first; along with the rest of our people.' Hearing movement behind him; he picks up speed, running faster. And still barely able to escape the attack; turning at the last second. The movement sends him, crashing through the chamber door. "Are you okay?" Looking up at the person staring at him. "huh, it was that easy. I tried to find you through our link. What are you still doing here, mom?" He gets up to see Heimdall standing a few feet away; along with Hogun next to him. His mother moves. "Thank you, Heimdall, Hogun." 'I am still amazed. She has never changed; even though, I know that she is technically a mortal. And centuries have gone by since she was really the age she resembles.' "Now is no time for thoughts like those." "And why not, this might be the last time I will get to see you, mom."

She starts laughing. "Then you haven't been paying attention to who I am; and what I can do." He notices the absence. "Where is Fandral?" "He is with the others evacuating the city." "Is that wise, to leave me alone with all those women like that?!" "It will be fine. Amora, Balder and the others will keep him in check. Besides, he knows this is serious. And there is no time for games." 'Like that has ever stopped him before.' "No, I suppose not. Heimdall, Hogun. Now that I know he is safe, get him out of here."

"What, no?! I am not leaving you, mother." The energy around her changes; as flames appear. And her eyes start glowing yellow. "You need to do as I say. I am not just your mother but your queen as well. I need to go save your father and our kingdom. The last thing I need to worry about this is my son. It is your duty and responsibility to carry on if we fall; now please go." She is gone the next moment. "You heard your mother. Come on, we still have a ways to reach the cliffs. And who knows how much of Asgard will continue to stand. We have wasted enough time."

His demeanor becomes crestfallen and wretched. "It is no easier leaving her than it is for you. But your mother can handle herself; she always has from the moment we met her." He turns to see the massive beast about to reign down on his mom. But she beats him to it; as her fist that is glowing red; hits it dead center.

They manage to shut the door; just the area around them shakes. Some of the children huddle closer to their parent. The Enchantress approaches them. Stopping right in front of Heimdall, "you're alright!' "Sister, please. You know after how he jilted you; you would think you would have moved on after all this time." Lorelai turns to him.

"You don't fool me. Not after I saw you fall for our queen all those years ago." Fandral turns at this. "Though, she was far from becoming one of our rulers back then." 'Enough of these spats; how is he?" Volstagg asks. "Why don't you ask him yourself?" Hogun replies. They all turn to see Baldr approaching him. As the prince is talking to one of the families.

He awakens at feeling the blanket being placed over him. Looking to see his uncle once again by his side. Baldr sits next to him. "You know that there is nothing wrong with worrying about them." "Well, you are the minority. Everybody else seems to think that my duties and responsibilities should come first." "Well, they aren't wrong. If your parents perish; you will be responsible for what is left of us. However, there are also responsibilities that come with being a son." "Aren't you worried about them?" "Not really, I mean I care and would be hurt if something happened to them. But they, are stronger than the people you have seen. There has been peace from long before you were born; and became an adolescent.

Though, there was a time from even before that; that your parents got into a lot of scraps. People they knew that they considered friends and family helped them." "I had thought they were just stories. Mother and Father never mentioned any of them besides at bed time." "Oh, they were very much real. Sif had been one of them." "Sif?" "Clearly, they never talk about her. One of your father's childhood friends and first wife. It took him a long time to get over her. She had come to respect your mother as a friend and comrade."

He and the other defense that Asgard has left rise; as the doors blow open. Banging against the wall. His father's body hits the ground hard; as his mother appears the next moment. Shoving the doors close again using her power. He rushes forward. "Is he okay?" "Yes. Though, I had to put him to sleep until he recovers. So, who knows when he will awaken again?!" "And what about you?" He takes in her appearance; to see it disheveled. And parts of her clothing torn. Her robe and dress no longer present. Her garb now reminiscent of that of a warrior's.

"Your majesty?!" Volstagg speaks. "Asgard has fallen. I was barely able to defeat our enemies. While trying to assist him; though stubborn and headstrong fool that he is, he fought me almost every step of the way." "And yet, you wouldn't love him any less or differently." Volstagg adds. A smile greets her face; "indeed, I would not." "That's my brother for you" Baldr says, joining them. Focusing her attention, back to her son.

"I am going to have need of you, Warriors Three; to help rebuild. The rest of you will help me council, until my dear husband joins the land of the living once more." She looks at Lorelai, Amora, Heimdall and Baldr. "Loki managed to slip past me. And finding him isn't going to be easy." "Mother?" She turns to her son; staring before finally answering. "Heimdall." "My queen?!" "I need you to send him back. I will help you navigate the exact time."

"Wait. Where am I going back to, mother? I refuse to leave. You and our people need me." "You will do as I say. I haven't trained you as much as I should have. Your power comes from me. And while it is functionable; it isn't all it can be. There are people in the time that I am sending you; that are better equipped to help you. Including my younger self." He opens his mouth. "There is no discussion or argument to be had. The only thing is that you must reveal as little as possible. Baldr, if you would, I need to speak to Valkyrie" She adds.

Entering the makeshift throne room; she kneels upon getting closer. "Valkyrie, there is no need for that. We have known each other too long." "You are still my queen, your majesty." She sighs. "Very well." She turns to face her still kneeling subject. "You may get up now." "Heimdall told me what happened? Are you sure it is wise to send him back?" "Yes. We both know that failing to teach him to reach his full potential wasn't all the best or wisest decision. We had just thought that after everything we had seen and gone through; our children wanting for nothing was a nice reprieve."

"There is nothing wrong with wanting with raising your child to have a carefree childhood." "And how did it help what happened?" "My lady, even if you had trained him. Loki would still have been up to his tricks. And no amount of training would have kept him safe from harm. It comes with being the territory of being royalty. Loki surely would have killed his nephew; had he had the chance. At least, now he will be more prepared. While learning about all those stories, you told him. To humans; we are the stuff of legends. But to that boy, they are the stuff of legends; all courtesy of your bed time stories."

"I am just afraid. Around the time, I am sending to him to; I was rediscovering myself. And in no way, shape or form ready to be a parent and the responsibilities that come with it." The hand is placed on her shoulder before it squeezes it for comfort. "It won't matter much; you have always been kind and loving; despite your front almost all of the time being present. I know this isn't why you summoned me." "No, it is not. I would join you but there is much I have to oversee here. Loki, managed to be the weasel he is; and gave me the slip. I am going to have you and Heimdall search for him." Valkyrie bows before taking her leave. 'Loki, what happened to you? There was a time when you renounced your evil ways; and did your best to be a good person. What turned you again? And even worse than you had been originally?'
