Note: this is the last chapter. Like previously stated, I had decided to pull the plug. Because I didn't it, it would and could continue for indefinitely with all the source material/inspiration; and becoming too long. Rachel and the others will pop up in other stories that will basically be one-shots. Mainly stuff that didn't fit here. But moving onto other ideas in my head more or less focusing on other Marvel characters.

And apologize now due to the lack of inclusion to certain extent, basing these versions on the how represented in the comics (and unfortunately, majority of those showing up are Caucasians, mainly certain Asgardians). I also mention a cyclops plushie. It would be like the one shown in the Xmen animated series during the Dark Phoenix saga episodes

The world tickles and pulls at her consciousness. Her eyes attempt to open; though the lead feeling hinders this from happening. Taking a few deep breaths in and out; she pushes again, using all her will to see the world around her. The sun rays slightly missing her face. Moving her head to the side; she catches Thor facing away from her, staring at the horizon. Attempting to get up alerts him to her being awake. Just as The Phoenix comes and perches on the edge of the makeshift bed, watching her.

"Easy, Rachel. Let me help you." "I can do it." No sooner has her feet touched the ground then she starts to crumble. The Phoenix moves a little closer as Thor takes a hold of her arms, pulling her up. Both stare at each other; before he sits her down, relinquishing his hold. "I know you are more than capable; but you have been out for a very long time." "How long?" She gets out quietly. Holding her hand out, as the bird lands in it; never breaking eye contact with her. "It's alright. I'm fine."

Thor stands in front of her, looking to the side. "At least ten years; my father has been waiting for you to awaken. After hearing all your feats of bravery, he has decided to gift you with immortality, if you so wish it." "I would appreciate it if I could get some clothes and shoes." "Rachel, mine lady, if we could finish that conversation, we haven't had the chance to." "I would like to see my family. Plus, the last I knew you were in a relationship with Jennifer Walters. And what about Sif?!" She tells him as she keeps walking.

The wind whistles as she lets it engulf her before the water surrounds her. Treading slowly to the surface, she gets out when the water becomes too close to the shore; no longer able to hide her. She is faced with The Warriors Three and Sif. Consternation gracing her face, "Thor is worried about you; as are we, Lady Summers." "Sif, surely, it would be simply Rachel at this point. Besides, it is more than enough time that he should have married you already. I have more important things to worry about than my love life; like letting my family know that I am fine and myself again. And find out what I missed in all this time?!" Heimdall appears behind her; "of course, Lady Rachel, if you would come this way." She sighs at the honorific as she silently obeys.

Kneeling in front of Odin, "I know my son has told you the reward I wish to bestow upon you. One that is never given lightly." "I am grateful, Lord Odin. But all I wish for is to see my family and let them know I have recovered for the most part. Besides, The Phoenix keeps me young. Though, if you may, I wish to stay here, at least until I recover completely?!" "Very well, Lady Summers, Hogun and Balder will accompany to your quarters before taking you to Heimdall. They and Amora will join you as you search your family out. Hopefully, the journey won't take too long."

She barely ducks as the blade swings her way almost hitting her as its intended target. Colliding with Volstagg at her back. "This is most unfortunate, would think the pact I made would have been more than enough for the Shi'ar to keep their distance. Move." Bringing her leg out she is able to hit one of their opponent's solar plexus like intended. Before bringing her fist out clocking another. As Volstagg tackles the massive being that has materialized out of nowhere. "Any time you want to bring out the big guns would be good, Rachel?!" Struggling with her new and current opponent, "as nice as it would be, The Phoenix would just cause more trouble given the circumstances."

"It definitely wouldn't hurt. For whatever reason, they have invaded and attacked us without provocation. We should really return the favor." "Fine. Get down. I am going to try something new." Channeling the Phoenix force, her eyes glow before she releases the energy out of her them; hitting the creature dead center, reducing them to nothing but cinder. Just as the clear sky morphs into dark, stormy clouds; as the horizon is lit up with lighting and thunder. "They are in for it now." She ignores Volstagg's statement as she picks up the weakening mental signature.

Dragging the struggling ruler by the nape of his neck, she makes her way to the group ahead. Knowing this is where the mental signature resonated from. The rain continues to pelt them as they see Sif's body broken and bloody as she struggles to breath. Thor by her side. Sensing her presence, she turns to Rachel. "Take care of him, Thrud and our son. I know they are old enough; but they are still going to need you. You have waited in the background enough; once more sacrificing your happiness and well being for my sake. I couldn't ask for a better friend."

Rachel's grip tightens more on Gladiator. "Do you see what your decision has cost again. Nothing but foolishness. The end will come for you soon enough. For now, we have to mourn our friend who you thought was nothing but collateral." Nodding her head at Hogun, she takes to the sky; keeping a hold of their new prisoner.

The pyre begins to slowly drift; following the direction of the current. The Shi'ar leader tied in chains to the stake attached to the center of the raft. The Phoenix perched on the top of it waiting. The Warriors Three, Angela, Thrud, Thor, Odin, Frigga, Balder, the Thorson, Heimdall, Rachel and Amora standing on the water's edge watching as the rest of the Asgardians look on in the near distance. As the orbs of light are released, "go ahead."

Rachel starts walking forward, ignoring the water at Odin's command. Upon being knee deep, she travels to be able to hover by the raft. "Kallark, you broke the treaty and oath between us. Involving a people that had nothing to do with it. And an innocent paid the price for your choice." "Do this, Rachel. And there will be more." "Very well, so be it. You brought this about. And do you really think the Asgardians will really forgive what happened here; and who they lost?! You can begin now." The Phoenix lets the fire sweeping downward, cleansing the raft's occupants. The flames reflecting in Rachel's eyes as she watches on with the others.

The breeze softly shifts her hair. Enjoying the day's beauty is halted for a moment, as she feels the hand being laid over hers. Holding it in place on the bannister in front of them. "You will not run this time, mine lady. Escaping this talk has gone on long enough." "Thor, please?!" "Nay, Rachel. Not this time. I listened to you all the others. And I gave Sif that chance you told me too." "Don't give me that, there was always a part of you that loved her." "True, but she was never the love of my life. The one meant for me."

His hold tightens as she attempts to break away. "This is long overdue. And I am not letting you slip through my fingers again this time. And I have been trying almost from the moment I found out. While I may be a different Thor, living in this realm makes it easier to glimpse other realities. I have been waiting a long time for you. And yes, I loved and cared for Sif, but she has been gone for almost a century now. You really don't expect me to continue being alone." "Thor, please, it is only a matter of time before some other woman catches your fancy. I have already had one husband cheat on me. While his mirror betrayed me; I will not tolerate another doing so."

Cupping her face, turning it up to look at him; "I would never do that to you. You are worthy of all that I can offer." "I still don't know, Thor. You must have had the same view with Jane, Jennifer, Sif and Amora?!" "Nay. Not to this extent. I know that you staying here was to break the cycle you had been living prior; and while grateful for that, surely it should be time, you did something that made you happy, for thine self?!" "And what about Fandral? He is still your friend."

No sooner does the door close as he pulls her into his arms, kissing her soundly. As he puts her down, her feet touching the ground once more; "I am tired of hiding. Fandral is an adult. Plus, the others have pretty much caught on; it is only a matter of time." "Fine. But not tonight. As you were." The rest of her words are lost to his ministrations. All the promises long to be said remain unspoken; as the night grows shorter and shorter.

His arms tighten around her, as his head remains immobile, laying against her chest, right above her breasts. Her fingers start running themselves through his hair as she is barely on the cusp on being between slumber and consciousness. Lost in her thoughts, she doesn't hear the knocks on the door; nor the greeting that eventually follows. As the sandman begins to reclaim her, as she lets herself be drift away once more. Neither aware of the betrayal as their friend stands there with shock at discovering their secret.

Grasping the grass in her hand, she remains focused on Sif's son, continuing to practice his lessons. It isn't long before he approaches, "Rachel, what is bothering thee? It is the same with mine father; and I know that it has been this way since Uncle Fandral left on his journey." "You are still young. And what is happening is between us." "It affects us as well. And I may be barely not more than one hundred and five; but I know there is something there."

The figures in the distance are still be able to be discernible, even at their expanse. Standing, "don't mention this to your father. It hurts him enough that one of his closest and dearest friends left because of a decision he made. Go, they will no doubt want to hear about your improvements; and please don't tease your sister." She remains sitting, knowing that one of them will help her as they get near.

Holding his hand out for her, she takes it as he wraps his other arm around her. The prominent bump still making standing a bit of a problem. Wincing for the splittist of seconds, "are thee well?" "I'm fine. He just decided to kick me. Your son was questioning me about Fandral. He is on the edge of finding out the reason himself. We should just tell him." "Mother Rachel." "Thrud, it really is past time you stopped calling me that. Your brother never has." "That may be, but you did marry our father after all." "And I never let your brother not go without knowing what a warrior and good person your mother was." "Did you know that Uncle Fandral has returned?!"

She shares a look with Thor as both recall the moment of his self-exile.She is standing by the pillar looking at the horizon as the Odinson appears, taking her hand in his, intertwining their fingers. "I know you still have doubts; but I meant it about wanting to be with you. It is actually why I am here right now. I have been waiting, not pushing. But knowing we have a future and how I feel, well I don't want to wait any longer. Be mine wife, Rachel Summers?!"

"How could you do this to me?!" The two turn to see Fandral standing by a pillar. "I waited patiently, knowing it was only a matter of time with Thor's track record. It was only a matter of time before he dumped you. I did nothing but love you, Rachel. I…" "Fandral, it really was unintentional. But I am not going to apologize; I never gave you a guarantee we would be together." Fandral flinches at her words, tightening his fist. "If you were really mine friend, you would be happy for me." "And if you were really my friend as well, Odinson, you would never have crossed that line; knowing how I felt about her."

Rachel stands in front of Thor. "Sure, I may have had a lot of reservations for a while of being with Thor. But I have gotten over them. Doing this wasn't for you to get hurt; and that is as close to a apology as you are going to get. So, either, you be a good friend, person and adult about this. Or you don't, its up to you, Fandral." The knight shakes his head before leaving silently and listlessly. It was not long afterward, that the ceremony took place minus one important person.

"It has been years, where is he, Thurd?!" "He should be in the throne room now. Mine husband, it is past time we should go meet our wayward subject and friend." Thor takes the lead; as she, his son, Thurd, Amora and Hogun follow them. Their horses running in front of them. The Phoenix bird perched on her horse's saddle, giving the appearance of being asleep.

He turns as the door opens. "My lord and lady." Thor's expression of reserve melts away at the greeting. "Fandral, mine friend." "I won't lie. It still hurts. However, my lady is right. I should be happy for you, Thor. You are my friend. I know that you would never hurt me on purpose. And I was starting to miss Asgard. And what is this, you are going to be parents?!" "Yes. Norwegian is starting to show how much of Thor's son he will be." "Yours as well, you are just as strong willed, my lady." "Enough, talk surely, you must be tired after your journey. You can tell us more during dinner."

The hall collapses behind him; just as he turns the corner. The thunder reverberating in the distance; before the silence comes out of nowhere. 'No. he couldn't have fallen. I am not ready to be king. Not that there will be much of a kingdom left; if he really has fallen. She would only be able to do much to recover this betrayal and assault.' He starts running again.

'Hopefully, I can find her. It would help if our mental link were open. She would want to make sure I am okay first; along with the rest of our people.' Hearing movement behind him; he picks up speed, running faster. And still barely able to escape the attack; turning at the last second. The movement sends him, crashing through the chamber door. "Are you okay?" Looking up at the person staring at him. "huh, it was that easy. I tried to find you through our link. What are you still doing here, mom?" He gets up to see Heimdall standing a few feet away; along with Hogun next to him. His mother moves. "Thank you, Heimdall, Hogun." 'I am still amazed. She has never changed; even though, I know that she is technically a mortal. And centuries have gone by since she was really the age she resembles.' "Now is no time for thoughts like those." "And why not, this might be the last time I will get to see you, mom."

She starts laughing. "Then you haven't been paying attention to who I am; and what I can do." He notices the absence. "Where is Fandral?" "He is with the others evacuating the city." "Is that wise, to leave him alone with all those women like that?!" "It will be fine. Amora, Balder and the others will keep him in check. Besides, he knows this is serious. And there is no time for games." 'Like that has ever stopped him before.' "No, I suppose not. Heimdall, Hogun. Now that I know he is safe, get Norway out of here."

"What, no?! I am not leaving you, mother." The energy around her changes; as flames appear. And her eyes start glowing yellow. "You need to do as I say. I am not just your mother but your queen as well. I need to go save your father and our kingdom. The last thing I need to worry about is my son. It is your duty and responsibility to carry on if we fall; now please go." She is gone the next moment. "You heard your mother. Come on, we still have a ways before we reach the cliffs. And who knows how much of Asgard will continue to stand. We have wasted enough time."

His demeanor becomes crestfallen and wretched. "It is no easier leaving her than it is for you. But your mother can handle herself; she always has, from the moment we met her." He turns to see the massive beast about to reign down on his mom. But she beats him to it; as her fist that is glowing red; hits it dead center.

(scene change)

They manage to shut the door; just the area around them shakes. Some of the children huddle closer to their parent. The Enchantress approaches them. Stopping right in front of Heimdall, "you're alright!' "Sister, please. You know after how he jilted you; you would think you would have moved on after all this time." Lorelai turns to him. "Enough of these spats; how is he?" Volstagg asks. "Why don't you ask him yourself?" Hogun replies. They all turn to see Baldr approaching him. As the prince is talking to one of the families.

He awakens at feeling the blanket being placed over him. Looking to see his uncle once again by his side. Baldr sits next to him. "You know that there is nothing wrong with worrying about them." "Well, you are the minority. Everybody else seems to think that my duties and responsibilities should come first." "Well, they aren't wrong. If your parents perish; you will be responsible for what is left of us. However, there are also responsibilities that come with being a son." "Aren't you worried about them?" "Not really, I mean I care and would be hurt if something happened to them. But they, are stronger than the people you have seen. There has been peace from long before you were born; and became an adolescent.

Though, there was a time from even before that; that your parents got into a lot of scraps. People they knew that they considered friends and family helped them." "I had thought they were just stories. Mother and Father never mentioned any of them besides at bed time." "Oh, they were very much real. Sif had been one of them." "Sif?" "Clearly, they never talk about her. One of your father's childhood friends and first wife. It took him a long time to get over her. She had come to respect your mother as a friend and comrade."

He and the other defense that Asgard has left rise; as the doors blow open. Banging against the wall. His father's body hits the ground hard; as his mother appears the next moment. Shoving the doors close again using her power. He rushes forward. "Is he okay?" "Yes. Though, I had to put him to sleep until he recovers. So, who knows when he will awaken again?!" "And what about you?" He takes in her appearance; to see it disheveled. And parts of her clothing torn. Her robe and dress no longer present. Her garb now reminiscent of that of a warrior's.

"Your majesty?!" Volstagg speaks. "Asgard has fallen. I was barely able to defeat our enemies. While trying to assist him; though stubborn and headstrong fool that he is, he fought me almost every step of the way." "And yet, you wouldn't love him any less or differently." Volstagg adds. A smile greets her face; "indeed, I would not." "That's my brother for you" Baldr says, joining them. Focusing her attention, back to her son.

"I am going to have need of you, Warriors Three; to help rebuild. The rest of you will help me council, until my dear husband joins the land of the living once more." She looks at Lorelai, Amora, Heimdall and Baldr. "Loki managed to slip past me. And finding him isn't going to be easy." "Mother?" She turns to her son; staring before finally answering. "Heimdall." "My queen?!" "I need you to send him back. I will help you navigate the exact time."

"Wait. Where am I going back to, mother? I refuse to leave. You and our people need me." "You will do as I say. I haven't trained you as much as I should have. Your power comes from me. And while it is functionable; it isn't all it can be. There are people in the time that I am sending you; that are better equipped to help you. Including my younger self." He opens his mouth. "There is no discussion or argument to be had. The only thing is that you must reveal as little as possible. Baldr, if you would, I need to speak to Valkyrie" She adds.

Entering the makeshift throne room; she kneels upon getting closer. "Valkyrie, there is no need for that. We have known each other too long." "You are still my queen, your majesty." She sighs. "Very well." She turns to face her still kneeling subject. "You may get up now." "Heimdall told me what happened? Are you sure it is wise to send him back?" "Yes. We both know that failing to teach him to reach his full potential wasn't all the best or wisest decision. We had just thought that after everything we had seen and gone through; our children wanting for nothing was a nice reprieve."

"There is nothing wrong with wanting to raising your child to have a carefree childhood." "And how did it help what happened?" "My lady, even if you had trained him. Loki would still have been up to his tricks. And no amount of training would have kept him safe from harm. It comes with being the territory of being royalty. Loki surely would have killed his nephew; had he had the chance. At least, now he will be more prepared. While learning about all those stories, you told him. To humans; we are the stuff of legends. But to that boy, they are the stuff of legends; all courtesy of your bed time stories."

"I am just afraid. Around the time, I am sending to him to; I was rediscovering myself. And in no way, shape or form ready to be a parent and the responsibilities that come with it." The hand is placed on her shoulder before it squeezes it for comfort. "It won't matter much; you have always been kind and loving; despite your front almost all of the time being present. I know this isn't why you summoned me." "No, it is not. I would join you but there is much I have to oversee here. Loki, managed to be the weasel he is; and gave me the slip. I am going to have you and Heimdall search for him." Valkyrie bows before taking her leave. 'Loki, what happened to you? There was a time when you renounced your evil ways; and did your best to be a good person. What turned you again? And even worse than you had been originally?'

Pulling the cover up more, the child looks on with earnest eyes. "Again, mother?!" The sigh is barely heard. "One more time, Valhalla. And then it is time for you to go to sleep." "But I love your stories. What about America's patriot? And my cousins? And my aunts and uncles? And the Soldat? And the BAMF? Or Lady Sif, father's first wife? Or Norway, or the witches?" "Valhalla Thorsdottir, you know their stories already. And I have told some of them three times this night." Seeing that the subject is closed for the moment, Rachel leans down, some of her grey hair falling in her face; before she moves the strands back, kissing the child's forehead. The BAMF, cyclops and Bucky bear clutched to her chest tightly.

He appears as she is pulling the chamber door close. "I just managed to get her to sleep. Wait until the morning she will be beyond ecstatic to see you first thing. I take it with the hour, you were able to finally iron out any flaws in the meeting?! The silence is welcome as they walk to their quarters. "It has been years since we sent Norway to the past. And barely managed to fend off Ragnarök. Her curiosity about Earth's heroes and her family have become a bottomless pit of questions; from the moment I first told her about them. Maybe it is time, we sent her back as well. It would be good. Plus, Valkyrie has been said she has been excelling. Meeting them and her brother would go a long way in her life's journey." Their door closes as her husband knows steering her to the bed is his acquiescing to her suggestion.
