It was 2019. Yeah, 2019. For the normal movie and television fan it might been practically average, with some film exceptions of course. For the Animaniacs fans, both old and new, it was a fabulous (or I should say, "faboo"), and that was for a simple reason… the previous year, 2018, it was announced that Animaniacs, after 21 years of being out the air, would be finally become back on Hulu, with more and more news coming in. Many fans were pretty excited to finally see the puppy children and the lab mice comeback to the small screen, though others were wondering other things, such as if the original crew was going to return to helm the sketches with the toons and in which direction it will be taken now that times have changed, but the most asked question was: besides Yakko, Wakko and Dot, and Pinky and The Brain, would the others side characters, such as Slappy and Skippy, Rita and Runt and of course, Chicken Boo, would also reappear in their respective segments?
Well, it was a pretty nice day of March at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California. Ever since the show ended, forcing the Warners to leave to search for a new place to live, as Thaddeus Plotz would no longer tolerate their antics, the lot changed a lot, especially after the parent company of the studio, Time Warner, was purchased by the multimillion dollar company Mucho Teléfono, operated by the rich Mexican family the Noritas, which put one of the woman, Nora Rita, as the new CEO, taking the place of the now-retired Plotz, who has ever since moved to Florida on a beach house alone. One of the most notable changes was that the water tower received a paint job to make it look more colorful, and even some of the soundstages got remodeled.
Chicken Boo did notice how changed the studio was when he first entered, making him realized that it has been a long time since he last visited Burbank. After being let passed by Ralph (whom he was surprised was still working at the studio despite the new management), he immediately went to the main studio offices. He also heard about the reboot from many fans, and since he wasn't contacted, he decided to come to the studio to see if he could come back, as he knew that some fans would love to see him return.
While he was walking through the studio to the main studio offices, he hoped he could see some familiar faces, especially Tom Ruegger, the creator of the original series, and Deanna Oliver, a really good friend of his who was the one who recommended him to Mr. Ruegger back in the nineties. However, much to his shock, he couldn't see them and thought that they may be busy on production of the reboot (he didn't know that they were never contacted to return). When he arrived, he got into the elevator as quickly as possible, and to his surprise, he was recognized by the people on the elevator, who all happily wanted him to give them autographs, and he gladfully accepted.
Meanwhile, Nora Rita Norita was on her treadmill while answering business calls.
"Look, that film is very long, and I don't think people would want to watch it, so you must cut it even FURTHER! I don't care if that will affect the story, or if it did well with test audiences! NOW GET TO WORK!" Nora Rita Norita said in one of the calls, and she eventually preceded to hang the call angrily.
At that moment, her secretary, Consuelo, came in sheepishly, knowing how her boss might react for entering without knocking first, but much to her surprise, Nora didn't throw her one of her tablets as she usually did, instead, she spoke to her in a rather calm, but still annoyed tone:
"Consuelo…" she started "… what the hell do you want?"
Consuelo shyly said "Señorita Norita, I…. I… I… wanted to tell you that the… the… there is somebody outside who wants to… to… see you".
"Consuelo, tell Mr. Snyder to go bother someone else with his complaints about the theatrical cut of Justice League" said Nora annoyed "I rather hear my daughter's tantrums than to his complaints".
"No, Miss Nora, it isn't Zack Snyder, it's a giant chicken who claims to have worked at the studio in the nineties" answered Consuelo.
Those words caused Nora to freeze in shock. Of all the characters from Animaniacs, whom she, with the exception of the puppy children and the lab mice, told the showrunner (Wellesley Wild) and the main executive producer (Gabe Swarr) not to bring back, the last one she thought will come was Chicken Boo. Of course, she was actually not hoping that giant chicken would know about the reboot, due to her still thinking that people in the countryside didn't know about modern technology, so he wouldn't know about the reboot. Still, she knew that the chicken wouldn't leave until she let him in.
"Ok, Consuelo," said Nora "tell him to wait a bit more. I will let him enter in a moment".
With that, Consuelo immediately left. After that, Nora Rita Norita got to a little speaker she had on her desk. She clicked one of the buttons and got near the speaker.
"Sam," she said, "please come to my office, there's a person who you need to see".
…
Chicken Boo was still sitting, waiting for the CEO to let him. It has been already like an hour and a half of waiting, so he was kind of desperate to enter, especially after he saw a middle-aged man who looked like he worked for studio entered. At that moment, however, she saw the secretary (really beautiful, by the way) get out of the doors that led to the CEO's office. She went through the papers, and she finally opened her mouth.
"Mr. Boo" said Consuelo, "Miss Nora Rita Norita and Mr. Sam Register would like to see you now".
