Chicken Boo was really excited when he heard the words. Of course, he has been waiting for so long, that he was more than ready to enter. He stood up from where he was sitting and finally opened those huge doors that led to the CEO's office.
When he entered, he was kind of surprised (though not shocked) at how changed the office was. During Plotz's management, his office only had a huge self-portrait of him, a desk, and a big chair, as he preferred mostly more spacious rooms. However, despite keeping the portrait of Plotz for reasons she never explained and the desk and chair, Nora Rita Norita added a place where she could do yoga, a treadmill, a huge plasma tv and a coffee machine. After gazing at the many changes this Nora woman did, Chicken Boo immediately turned towards Sam Register, the president of the animation department, and Nora Rita Norita having a little chat.
"So, Nora, we've been working for quite some time…"
"Yeah, I know, Sam"
"Of course, we've also have spent a lot of time with each other, so I was thinking, how about if we go to…?"
"Save your proposals for later, Romeo, we can't get pretty romantic IN FRONT of a giant chicken"
Chicken Boo sat down on one of the two huge comfy red velvet chairs that were facing the desk, pretending not to have listened to the chat he knew was supposed to be intimate. Once he got comfortable, he saw as both Nora and Sam also sat down on their respective places, prepared to start this conversation.
"So, Mr. Boo, what the "really urgent" reason you came to talk to me… or more accurately, with us" said Nora, pointing at a smiling Sam Register as she said the last two words.
Chicken Boo was about to answer the question, but before he could say something, Sam Register started speaking.
"Oh, don't mind answering, we already know why you came here today…" said Mr. Register, "… you heard certain news about Animaniacs receiving a reboot in a period in where TV would rather recycle material instead of using more their creative juices, and that we haven't notified you about it, so you could return and reprise your part in it"
Chicken Boo clucked in agreement, also kind of surprised that they knew the reason why he was there.
"Oh yeah, we certainly… forgot, yeah, forgot to tell you, and were very sorry if that caused any inconvenience, we should've certainly have realized that you would find out about it, but it was certainly in most part my fault, as I thought that in the countryside they had absolutely no knowledge about modern technology" answered Nora, which caused Chicken Boo to feel suspicious about it, not because of the last part, but because she said that she forgot about it in a tone that suggested that she was in reality making the whole thing up, but he decided not to make such a huge fuzz about it, and simply answered (by clucking) "It's okay, don't worry".
With that, Nora just remained eerily quiet for a few moments. She just didn't know what to tell the giant chicken who was staring at her next. She instead turned towards Sam Register, to see if he knew what they could say, but she could see that he was having the same issue she was having. She was just shocked that Chicken Boo was staring at her wanting to know if he could return to the reboot of one of WB's most popular cartoons from the nineties. Finally, she could think of a response and her mouth opened:
"Mr. Boo, we're pretty glad that you really would love to be once again part of the cast of our new version of Animaniacs" answered Nora. "However," she said, "since you came so suddenly without any previous notification about it, we're afraid that neither me nor the president of the animation department can give you an immediate answer to your suggestion".
Chicken Boo, completely being comprehensive of how both the CEO and the president felt about his unannounced presence, immediately responded "It's okay, I understand what you mean", and apologized.
"It's okay, you don't have to apologize" responded Sam Register.
"So, is it okay for you if you let us talk about this and talk about our decision tomorrow?" asked Nora, with a rather forced smile, not wanting to make the chicken realize that she was up to something. Despite feeling a bit suspicious, Chicken Boo thought it was totally fair decision, so he immediately stood up from the chair and walked through the large door, bidding goodbye to Nora and Sam.
After the doors closed, Nora stood from her chair and quickly ran to her coffee dispenser, then she poured it in a large cup and drank it all in one large gulp (which she often did when she felt agitated).
"I know I already told you this, but the last thing that could've come to my mind is to see one of the side characters of Animaniacs come to my office, especially a character like Charlton Woodchucks or the one we just saw" said Nora to Sam, who was still sitting in a stool listening to her patiently; "Well, I wouldn't been surprised, Nora," said Sam Register, "I would have seen it coming, seeing that the announcement of this reboot would bring in a lot of media attention, and would of course come to the ears of one or two cast members who weren't the Warners or Pinky and The Brain."
"Well, that's a point, but between us…" started Nora as she got to the large entrance to her office, locking it with a key so nobody would enter, "…, Chicken Boo was pretty calm, hopeful that we might say yes, something I personally don't want to do, but the point is, if he just came, that might mean that more and more of the other characters would come in to demand be put in the reboot, some in a maybe angry manner; whom I fear the most is that cranky old squirrel lady and her nephew, as I know that she is the most likely one to come in and demand us to put her in, and the problem is, many fans really want her to return, just like the chicken, but neither one of us want her and her nephew to be on the reboot."
"I couldn't agree more" responded Sam Register, "that squirrel is always doing things that reminiscent of the Looney Tunes… FROM the 1940's. No modern kid would want to watch that, what they like to watch is gross-out humor, lame jokes, and grotesque images, and that's precisely the reason I hired Mr. Wild, he has background working on Family Guy."
"Wait a minute, that just gave a great idea!" said Nora
"What's that idea, Nora?"
"We reject that chicken"
"That's all?"
"No, after we reject him, that may make him bit angry, but then we will give the "reason" we can't bring him back…"
With that, Nora got near Sam's ear and started whispering to him, all with a malicious look in her eyes. With every word, Sam Register's evil grin grew longer and longer.
