The next day, Chicken Boo arrived at the studio early, just in case there was problem with the meeting. Like the previous day, he looked around the lot to see if he could see any of his former co-stars or co-workers, but again he couldn't see anybody; he, however, wasn't surprised he couldn't see the Warners, as from the rumors he heard from various fans on social media, Nora didn't bother to make a search party for the Warners until they could do the first episode of the reboot, in where Steven would come and "re-animate" them so they could come back, and Pinky and The Brain were surely still living in ACME Labs, as they had heard very little of them since their show ended its run along with "Animaniacs" in 1998.
He continued to drift along about the fun times he had when making the seasons of the original show, and how many of his co-stars, mainly Skippy and The Warners, made him feel welcomed and accepted, in other words, at home, since many people had made fun of his lame costumes and his attempts to be accepted into Hollywood; Deanna did found potential in him, and that's why she helped him reach his dream to become a toon; that caused a friendship he valued a lot, and since, Deanna became his second best human friend (the others were Tom Ruegger and Girly). Ah, those were sure lovely times, and he could not wait to finally reunite with them after many years. At last, when he arrived at the waiting room, he was pleasantly surprised to find that the secretary was already standing at the entrance, ready to let him pass to the office; still, he felt a bit shocked about it, as some people who had worked there told him that Nora let people pass without waiting if it was something extremely important, and with that, it was mostly bad news; still, Boo decided to keep calm and positive, as he remembered to not give up any hope.
Once he entered the office, he saw the CEO and Sam Register, sitting in the desk; unlike the other day, Mr. Register was not making romantic advances towards Nora, in fact, both eerily quiet, making the environment a bit more uncomfortable.
"Chicken Boo," finally said Nora, ending the silence, "please take a seat." Chicken Boo obeyed the order, sitting down on the huge red velvet chair. Eventually, it was Sam Register who started to speak.
"Well, Chicken Boo," started Sam, "I talked with Nora yesterday about giving you a part in the Animaniacs reboot, and we both will really love to put you in it, especially the showrunner, who loved the idea…"
Chicken Boo was getting happy; he was excited with what he was hearing, as he could finally see Yakko, Wakko, Dot and the rest of the cast after so long, but that happiness quickly faded away after Sam Register said this:
"… but we're very sorry to inform you that it won't be possible at the moment, as we actually remembered that we had signed all of the supporting cast to the reboot before you came along…"
Chicken Boo was visibly getting confused by this; what did this had to do with him being rejected from returning to the reboot? Nora noticed that, so she proceeded to tell Chicken Boo what was going on.
"Yeah, Mr. Boo, I know this might sound shocking, but they also had a part in the contract when signing into the reboot. They demanded that we add a clause to it. The clause said that they do not want you under any circumstance to come back."
Chicken Boo did not believe what she was saying. He was suspecting that she was telling lies, as he knew his castmates very well, after they all spent time together somewhere in-between takes, and they chatted a ton. They actually took a liking to Chicken Boo, also feeling a bit of pity, particularly Slappy and The Warners, about the tough times he had to go through before getting where he was now; the Warners, having been locked in the tower for so long, being accused of being mere pests who just liked to annoy anyone, understood the discrimination he faced, and it remind Slappy of her youth, as her parents didn't want her to become a cartoon star, deeming it something unholy. However, before he could say anything, Sam Register got out a portfolio, from which he took out the contract Nora just mentioned. He then unrolled it and showed the aforementioned clause. It said clearly, "Chicken Boo cannot under any circumstance return to work with any of us on this new production of Animaniacs." That just caused Chicken Boo to get even more angrier, not for rejecting him, but for telling false things about his friends; he eventually started clucking angrily at both Nora and Sam for saying lies, and eventually stared destroying many things in the office to let his frustrations out ("Thank god I replaced everything with foam replicas in case this happened" remarked Nora).
It took a ton of time to get Chicken Boo to calm down, but when they finally managed to do it, Nora eventually told Chicken Boo this: "Chicken Boo, in case you do not believe us yet, then we should take you somewhere", and she opened the office doors, and the trio exited it. Neither Nora nor Sam told Chicken Boo where they were taking him, as the whole trip was mostly silent. He could eventually see they were taking him to the animation studio. Once there, they entered and walked through a large hallway. They stopped at a door that was the end of it, and Nora took out a key, looked to make sure nobody followed them and opened the door. All three of them entered the room, locked the door behind them and turned on the lights. Chicken Boo saw that it was a mostly empty room, except for an old television set that had a DVD player over it and a wooden chair, along with a box of DVDs, in the middle of it.
Chicken Boo knew what Nora and Sam wanted him to do, so he went over to the chair and sat down. This felt like one of those creepypasta stories that revolved around a "lost episode2 of a show about which he had heard. Eventually, Sam Register grabbed one of the DVDs.
"Chicken Boo," he said, "since you did not believe us and we know that we are telling you the truth, we remembered we had DVDs from the meetings with the rest of the cast, except for the Warner siblings and those lab mice. The content may, of course, shocked you." With that, he popped the DVD into the player, as he cringed over the last part said he said to the giant chicken.
The DVD started playing. Chicken Boo could see that it was a security camera recording, as he could see the date it was recorded and the number of the camera. The recording showed Slappy Squirrel in the room, with Skippy nowhere to be found, signing the contract to her return, with Sam Register holding it. After that, Slappy started to speak:
"Hey, Sam, do you remember Chicken Boo?"
"Yes, Ms. Squirrel, of course I do. In fact, we might contact him later."
"That was what I wanted to talk about, Mr. Register. You know, during the original series, I was supposedly one of his friends. Well, that was just a blatant lie. I just wanted to earn his trust; in reality, I thought his sketch was mediocre, and I always talked behind his back about how he should have never been accepted in the first place."
"Ms. Squirrel, how could you do such thing? You know that isn't correct…"
"Oh, shut up, remember that people have freedom of expression, especially around other people. So, I wanted to ask you to add a clause to the contract."
"Uhm…, of course, whatever you say! What would you like to add?"
"I really don't want to see more Chicken Boo sketches in this reboot, so please, for the love of God, add this clause that says 'Chicken Boo should not return'!"
"But Ms. Squirrel, that could…"
"Just add it! I don't care how the chicken would react!"
"Alright, but I'll have to consult it with the rest of the supporting cast"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever! As long as he doesn't return, I'm totally fine with it!"
With that, the recording ends.
Chicken Boo was highly shocked at what he just saw. He never believed that Slappy will say such things. He wouldn't have believed it, but the evidence was clear, everything looked pretty real. He felt his heart cracking. Still, he had doubts that his other co-stars will had accepted such a horrible clause; when he expressed his doubts to both Nora and Sam, Sam said in a rather sad tone:
"Chicken Boo, we're afraid that these DVDs will show you the ugly truth, and you'll totally be heartbroken about it."
After that, he popped recording after recording into the TV. Chicken Boo could see in horror that, all of his co-stars, when asked about what they thought about the clause, showed a sort of hatred towards the poor chicken, also demanding that they include the clause (even the Hip-Hippos and Buttons and Mindy, who were the least popular in the original show).
That was enough to make Chicken Boo stand up from his seat and leave in a shock as Nora unlocked the door. He was totally expression and emotionless as he left the animation studio.
….
He arrived back to his home ranch, but instead of going back into the coop, he went into Girly's house. It had a note on the front door from Girly addressed towards him, telling him that she had to go on an errand and will be back soon. With that, he entered the house. He clucked asking if somebody was home, but eventually remembered the note he just saw. With that, he went back to his coop to go for something to eat. But first, he checked his mailbox. First, letters from Deanna, then, letters from Tom, all of which he put on the ground to take into the coop so he could read them later. Then, he saw a letter that was addressed to Girly. The mailman must've mixed up the letters as usual, but still, he saw the envelope had a logo. That logo was the Warner Bros. Sign.
With that, Chicken Boo got really angry. He threw the letter in the air and pecked his mailbox into pieces. Then, he entered his coop, and saw all the memorabilia from his years in Animaniacs. That caused him to get furious, so much that he proceeded to grab it all and take it outside, where he preceded to grab an axe, smash it all up, and then ignite it with a matchstick; after doing all of that, he started laying on the floor while bucking in agony, all while the other chickens watched.
