Chapter 2
A person enters the room with the expression of dread complaining about something "-growl- another day at work watching over the restaurant and a walking talking singing animatronics." The person drops all the things it carries on the table, sits on the comfortable recliner sipping the cup coffee hoping it provides the energy to go through the day. The person goes through the security camera to spot if there is any unusual thing occur in the establishment. Later, the person wrote down into its log book reporting nothing out of ordinary happen and checking its watch to jot down the time as well.
A sharp pain aching from the backside stops whatever the person was writing "Ah bollocks, my back feel sore from organizing some of the boxes in the storage room." The person gets up from its recliner stretching its ligaments and a sound of crack could be heard "Ow I don't think that was such a good idea, I think I better lay down it might recover and straighten my back" as the person walks to the couch "A temporary nap wouldn't hurt, right?" mentally asking itself "Right." And answering itself.
As the person sitting down on the couch, its bottom came in contact with something causing the person to jump away from the couch. "What in the world" puzzle by what is on the couch. Suddenly, the person laughs to itself remembering something in that past experience lately "Ha-ha -sarcastically- very funny, is this one of your pranks again Montina" facepalming itself "I'm getting tired of this childish demeanor and I'm beginning to think she's trying to get rid of m-," The person was cut off by a sudden movement under the blanket.
The guard took out its stick and flashlight shining at the blanket while preparing to whack whatever it is under there. "It could be a feral animal" thinking to itself what possible animal it could be, maybe it's a snake? The guards heart rate increases every second imagining it. The guard lift up the blanket using its stick, cautiously trying not to give whatever under it the upper-hand.
The guard unwrap the blanket completely, later the guard heart rate lower to a normal state and put away the stick in the belt. The guard was please it wasn't an animal or a prank from Montina but puzzle because it is a boy sleeping on the couch. The guard began questioning the situation "Who is this kid? How did he get in here? And Where are his parents?" the guard thought instead of asking itself why not ask the boy. The guard shook the boy to wake him up while holding the flashlight shining the boy's face "Kid wake up."
Meanwhile, Gregory was having a phenomenal dream but surely it was disturbed by a hand shaking him taking him away from the fantasy land and a voice calling out to him. He woke up feeling groggy rubbing his eye and thought to himself, who would interrupt him. As Gregory face towards the person, he couldn't quite make out the person face due to the bright light blinding him and it doesn't help him squinting his eyes because he just woke up adjusting his vision to the surroundings. The person spoke to him.
"Hey kid, who are you?" the guard remove its hand away from Gregory's shoulder.
"Um..a, my name is Gregory and you mind removing the light away from my face its taking away my sight". Holding his hand out trying to cover a bit portion of light shining his face.
"Apologize about that Gregory" lowering the flashlight and turning it off.
His eyesight began adjusting and everything in front of him becoming clearer "No worries, um mind if I know who are as well."
"Forgave my rudeness, my name is Vanessa" feminine voice and stretching its hand out for a handshake.
"Hello Misses Vanessa" shaking her hand, his hand is a bit smaller compare to hers.
"I'm not married, Miss is enough" correcting Gregory. "Now, how did you get in here?" she was curious.
Gregory properly look at the person who he is speaking to. Gregory realizes, Vanessa is quite a knockout. She has a blond ponytail, tiny dots on her face what seems to be freckles that brings out her beauty, her eyes are green color similar to a healthy grass, her lips shiny like a gloss, her body is slime and curvy, her breast were big, her hips are wide and thick and she wore a security uniform hugging her figure. She also seems to be in her mid-20's.
"Oh, I'm sorry Miss Vanessa if I upset you in anyway." Fidgeting in place and a bit of red dot could be seen on each side of the cheek. "I just came in here just to lay my head, seemingly outside from here it was too noisy by other kids screaming outside and the door was wide open" pointing at the door.
"-sigh- Except this room is my security room" she kneels down to make Gregory less comfortable but this only cause him to be more uncomfortable. Her chest are inches away from him, Gregory pull his back pack to cover his lower body.
Gregory now unease, hoping Vanessa pay no attention towards whatever he is trying to hide. "Um…miss, I would like to go to the restroom". As he getting off the couch.
"In the moment, I need to contact your parent to pick you up" as she heads for the office phone planted on the wall.
"You don't have to worry about it, my parents will come pick me up later because I think they are on their way from the grocery store." repeating the same lie he told to the security bot.
Vanessa releasing her hand from the phone and now suspicious of Gregory. "When did you arrive at the pizzeria?"
Gregory feels like his in an interrogation room but reply her nonetheless "I think not long ago, I can't be quite specific because I didn't bring a watch with me." He wasn't trying to be a smartass but it did sound like he is.
"I think your lying Gregory" she said in a low tone as if she caught a culprit killed someone red handed.
Now its Gregory's turn, sweat drops down from his forehead, rolling along on one side of his cheek to the end. His castle of lie is beginning to crumble. "What, what, what make made you say such preposterous thing." "Surely enough, I'm not trying to make a fool out of you Miss Vanessa."
"Oh, do you?" "Well then let's test out if your statement is either what your saying is true or a lie." She sits on the recliners chair facing Gregory. "Currently do you know what time it is now?" awaiting his answer.
Along the way when he was wondering in the pizzeria, he didn't bother to look at the time. Thus, he repeats what he said just now "I tell you the time, if I brought a watch with me" pointing to his wrist where no watch is to be seen.
Smirking to herself, she thought to herself now this is getting interesting "How about you take a guess."
His brain thinks of a number that could be possible to match up the timeline he is currently am "8 pm or 10 pm?."
Her face bright up when she hears his answer "It's actually past midnight." Now she had ensured he was bluffing and push it further to confirm.
"So, its midnight what does it have to do with my statement." Gregory is now confused.
"Here the grocery store and all other stores closes at 9 pm, your 'parent' could off came here searching for you while you were still asleep in here." She stood up walking from one side of the room to another.
"And the pizzeria could of notice me to issue a search party for a missing boy" she stops walking and her back against him. "To conclude this story, if we fail to find you which we couldn't off because you were clearly sleeping here, your 'parent' could have gone to the Police station to file a missing person." She goes up to the phone "So, why don't we ask Mister Policeman?" she dials the number down.
Gregory is in the state of panic, hoping someone in the past who live here have file a missing person that have similar name to him. He clutched his backpack with anticipation.
The sound of click could be heard from the phone receiver, means someone on other side have pick up the phone. "Hello, good evening" mumble sound on the end "This is a security who work at Freddy's Pizzeria" more mumble "Oh, I'm not calling to make a report but I have a question" the policeman tone sound what kind of question? "Did anyone file a missing person by the name of Gregory recently?" "Yes, I'll wait a moment." A sound of clicking and clacking can be heard as if the policeman is typing something.
Her eyes stayed on Gregory the whole time causing him to feel uncomfortable and he could feel his whole charade is failing.
A few minutes later, the policeman replied her question "I see and thank you for your time, sir" placing the phone back by ending the call. Gregory is now on the edge of the seat awaiting her respond.
"Gregory, do you know what I find out just now" her face looking down.
"What did the policeman say" the sudden change of expression from Vanessa change, he felt his lie was now in lock.
"I found out…. your story was utterly full of rubbish" her face now changes to annoyed.
The color from Gregory skin changes to white because he is in trouble. "No I... I."
"Tell me the truth Gregory, where are your parents and why haven't you gone back home yet." Her tone sounded concern.
Feeling defeat he told her the truth, he thought to himself there is no way of lying his out of this situation. "My parents…. Both my parents have pass away." A few tears rolls down his face.
"So, you're an orphan" crossing her arm together "What's your orphanage contact number, I'll call them to pick you up."
"Please don't, please don't send me back there… I'll do anything, but please don't send me back there" begging her not to do something he find to be horrid.
"It's none of my business, now give me the contact number" not caring what outcome will be for Gregory afterward.
His body began shaking and he scream towards Vanessa "NO!". He had no choice of reasoning with her, he ran out of the room.
"Hey wait! Come back here you little twerp don't make my job any harder, ugh" she chases after him.
He ran and ran to find somewhere to hide from her. Along the way, he sees the place is empty and quite but he could still see a few bots wandering around. He hid himself behind a pillar to catch his breath, in the distance he heard his name being call out by Vanessa. "Gregory! Where are you!" his back against the wall but his relief was cut off short, as he turns around, he was shook to see a security bot appear out nowhere.
The bot alarm went off to notified everyone what is over here "Alarm! Alarm!". Vanessa now guesses one of the security bots found Gregory, she rushes towards it. "Gregory!".
He ran once again, he thought to himself "Not just the security lady but every bot in this establishment is looking for me, this is troublesome." Later, he manages to keep quite a distance away from them, out of the corner of his eye he spot a vent where a size of a kid could fit through. He remembers he have a set of tools in his backpack and pulls out a screwdriver to unscrew the vent. A footstep could be heard somewhere near him, he rushes into the vent and closes it. Hoping no one spotted him, later he saw Vanessa ran pass the vent. He stays in the vent a while to catch his breath.
"What should I do now, I can't just stay in the vent forever" thinking to himself "I need to find somewhere suitable to lay low momentarily." He looks and wonders where will this vent lead to, well one way to find out. He continues to travel deeper into the vent.
