Fireheart let out a big yawn as the she-cat stepped outside of the nursery. The former ThunderClan queen's pelt quivered as a cold misty morning breeze ruffled through the flame-colored fur. It had been three days since a fire had swept through ThunderClan's territory, and so far none of the ShadowClan warriors had spotted a ThunderClan patrol on the borders, though there had been reports of scenting new fresh scent marks recently, so it was clear that they were remarking their side of the Thunderpath even though no one has caught a glimpse of them yet.

Fireheart felt terrible and worried about her former Clan. Though they had casted her and her kits out, Fireheart never wished ill will upon any of them. Infact, Fireheart was sure many of her former Clanmates were against her banishment, and if not for how swiftly things had happened, the flame-colored she-cat was sure that others would have followed her into exile.

Fireheart took a look around the clearing, only seeing a few cats going about their early morning routine, and unhurriedly padded over towards the fresh-kill pile where the choice between a water vole and frog were left for her to choose from. She chose the water vole.

Fireheart took her food and settled on a dry patch of pine needles outside the medicine cats den and began eating. The former ThunderClan warrior was slowly becoming better acquainted with her adopted Clanmates. It was easy to become friends with Dawncloud and Tallpoppy, seeing as Fireheart saw the two other queens on a nearly daily basis and shared a den with them. Russetfur was also a cat that Fireheart was fairly getting along with, though the ShadowClan warrior's tongue was sharp as broken ice and was more prone to resolving things with her claws, the dark ginger she-cat also had a funny personality and could be kind once she warmed up to you.

Surprisingly, Runningnose was also one of her new acquaintances. At first the small gray-and-white medicine cat kept his distance. But ever since Mothkit began following him around, asking endless questions, and showing a desire to one day be a medicine cat herself, the once indifferent tom was more open and welcoming towards the jade eyed queen.

Though Fireheart doubted Runningnose would seriously consider Mothkit as his future apprentice, what with how close he and Littlecloud had gotten ever since Littlecloud, with secret help from Spottedleaf, came back to save the Clan from the sickness that plagued the ShadowClan cats and the small brown tabby tom's own desire to be a medicine cat.

Today was different though, something in the air that glided past her ears and made a shiver go up the she-cat's spine just a moment before Runningnose came racing out of his den as if his tail was on fire.

Fireheart let out a meow of surprise, almost being trampled as Runningnose ran past her without really seeing her. Whatever was going on, it seemed to be important. And how right she was. Runningnose gleefully summoned the Clan together, it was the first time Fireheart has ever heard Runningnose used his status as temporary leader, and curiously padded over to hear what he has to say.

"I had a sign from StarClan." Runningnose was practically beaming, if a bit relieved. "Please, everyone, gather around and I shall tell you what they have told me."

Fireheart was more than curious now. Signs from StarClan were a serious matter. Only leaders and medicine cats communicated with the warrior ancestors…well, there were a few exceptions.

Fireheart glanced up as Tigerclaw came to settle down beside her. He also looked curious, if a bit more cautious. Not all of StarClans prognostications had good intentions. Fireheart could still remember Barkface's sign of an unnecessary death, and then the RiverClan warrior, Whiteclaw, had fallen to his death during a scuffle between RiverClan and ThunderClan near a gorge. Graystripes had also almost lost his life during that battle. Now apprehension and dread filled Fireheart's stomach, but Runningnose didn't seem upset, so that had to be proof that it was a good sign.

Russetfur came to stand on Fireheart's other side. Tallpoppy and Dawncloud were listening from the nursery. The apprentice's clambered on top of each other to get a better view. And the warriors congregated together in a more harmonious manner. Darkstripe could be seen skulking near the warriors den, away from everyone else. Once everyone was assembled, Runningnose began his explanation.

"I dreamt that I was out in an endless void of pine trees. They were so tall that they blocked out the light but I wasn't afraid. Infact, I felt protected. Because there on the trees were markers in the shape of long claws, guiding me and pointing me towards safety. I followed them and came across a river where I leaned over and, staring into my reflection, was a tiger looking back at me. I wasn't afraid of it and it wasn't harming me. I take this as a sign from our ancestors that Tigerclaw is to be ShadowClan's new leader."

Silence. Complete and utter silence. Fireheart's head whipped to the side to stare incredulous at the stunned dark brown tabby warrior, who seemed just as surprised as the rest of them.

Tigerclaw was blinking as though in a daze, then a look of pleasure and surprise spread over his face. Firestar realized that this was what Tigerclaw had always wanted, that he had finally achieved his dream, Tigerclaw was going to be ShadowClan's new leader.

Slowly he rose to his paws. "Runningnose, cats of ShadowClan," he meowed. "I never expected to be given this honor. I swear by StarClan that I will do all I can to serve you."

As he finished speaking, sound gradually swelled from the assembled cats, a mixture of yowls and purrs and voices calling, "Tigerstar!" all the Clan began to press around the dark tabby warrior, congratulating him. Firestar wondered just how much of what he said was true.

For a few moments Fireheart remained sitting beside Tigerclaw and just watched him. The massive, sturdy, broad chest and shoulders, thick-furred, dark brown tabby warrior with his unusually long, sharp front claw and pelt crisscrossed with long battle scars portrayed the part of a brazen, fierce leader. And perhaps that is what ShadowClan needed at the moment, someone strong and confident who believes that they can turn the badly off Clan into something great again.

Tigerclaw was respectfully nodding and accepting everyone's congratulations and support with gratitude.

It was much different from how he acted when he became ThunderClan's deputy. Fireheart watched him for a second longer before standing to get out of everyone's way as they began pushing their way past her to greet their new leader.

I am so close to the end of this one-shot!!! So very, very close to the finishing line!!! I've already told you all I'm ending it at the Gathering!!! It's gonna be like a cliffhanger sort of thing but I'll make it worth your wild!!! I hope you look forward to the Gathering because we'll finally know what happened to the Clan, how everyone is, Dustpelt and Longtail, Bluestar and the rest!!! Just everyone!! Also Graystripes gonna show up!!!

Next up will be Fireheart's pov…actually I believe the next couple of chapters will remain in Fireheart's pov!

Look up my one-shots:

Yellowfang pov (Heart of Fire)

Cinderpelt pov (Heart of Fire: Shadows of the Past!)

Newest* Spottedleaf pov (Heart of Fire)

I will add more when I feel like it but if there is a character you want a one-shot from any of my warrior fics I will be happy to do them!!

Fun Facts:

Tigerclaw is gonna be a leader like in my main series!!! But unlike his leader ceremony in my Heart of Fire main series we will not see his point of view (because it's almost exactly the same as in cannon and I don't want to write that again.) It will be in Fireheart's point of view with what's going on.

Don't worry about Mothkit/paw, she will become a medicine cat…but is she truly meant to be ShadowClan's medicine cat?!

So Tigerclaw got what he wanted. How is Fireheart going to deal with that? Very much on the fence that is!!! There will always be that little bit of doubt in her but Tigerclaw/star will just have to prove her wrong!!!
