Mediziner's Notes: And here we go, I've uploaded the first chapter! If you haven't read the Prequel yet, I recommend reading it if you'd like to get to know Radiant Prism. From here on out starting Chapter 1, The location is based in Japan rather than in Germany, so the primary language is indicated in Japanese while foreign languages outside of Japan are in bold. No I won't be typing out the real language, they're bold for a reason to let people imagine the language in their mind. ;) Wouldn't want to break anyone's brains by putting the actual language and I don't want to offend anyone if I did.
This Chapter was originally uploaded: 24/10/2018 on DeviantART.
The Leader Within Cover Art is drawn and commissioned by Erilmadith-Everyoung on DeviantART. You can also find Radiant Prism's full reference there, too.
I'm also going to put the key here in the case there are some people who chose to skip the Prequel:
KEY:
"Example" This means normal chatter.
"Example" Normal chatter but in a foreign language.
-Example- Chatter via communications badge. Note the dashes.
'Example' These are thoughts. Note the single quotes/apostrophes.
Another thing to point out in case people chose to skip the two-part prequels: this is NOT an OCxCanon pair/ship fic, nor do I intend it to be so. This is just a non-shipping fic.

...
It was late afternoon, only a small amount of clouds in the air but otherwise good for air patrol. Drill Boy was doing his usual rounds as he kept his visuals on alert for any crime happening down below, but was growing more and more bored. Sighing, he muttered to himself about how there wasn't all that much crime save for small petty ones that didn't need his and the others' help. He couldn't wait for his shift to be over so that he could go to his soccer field and practise. Sighing, he then began to fly towards the south western part of Nanamagari City, perhaps maybe he might find some crime happening over in that area.
Once he reached and began patrolling that part of the city, there wasn't anything. However Drill Boy did manage to spy some petty crime that occurred but the human police were on the scene in a heartbeat. No assistance from the Brave Police was needed. "Tch... I'm looking forward to something new for a change... There's always little crimes happening that the human police officers can take care of..." He complained, beginning to ramble to himself until when he noticed something in the corner of his optic, a jet that was just a few meters above his altitude.
'Huh... What's a fighter jet doing over the city? I don't recall being near a military air base...' He thought, trying to figure out the reasons as to why it was flying around the city. Sure he's seen plenty of planes in the skies but a fighter jet? Either it was a rare sight, or perhaps an uncommon sight that he never really seemed to take too much notice whenever he was out on patrol. 'Must be one of those soldiers who's with Seia's group or somewhere else similar. Hmmm, I'll go see if they might've gotten lost or something.' Gunning his thrusters, Drill Boy ascended right after the fighter jet. As he neared, he attempted to contact the pilots behind the jet through a communicator, but when he got no response, he immediately noticed the jet was starting to pick up speed which forced him to chase after it. 'Strange, why is it flying away from me...? Maybe I scared them?' He sped up to catch up with the fleeing jet all while trying multiple times to communicate with it, but was getting no response. The soccer detective was starting to get ideas that it might be possible that this was probably not an aircraft from the Japanese Air Force, but rather a foreign aircraft from elsewhere which also could mean that it's very likely that they're not very familiar with him and the others.
Upon carefully examining the marks on the jet's body, he saw nothing that otherwise indicated the air force it was from, other than it had some wavy stripes of slightly lighter colour than it's main paint job. Slowing his speed, Drill Boy frowned. "...Maybe they'd think I'm some enemy trying to get them... But how will I show that I'm not an enemy? I don't want to hurt them if that's what they might think..." His entire frame shuddered at the thought of receiving scolds from Deckerd, McCrane, or worse, his Boss Yuuta. The more he thought about it, the more he began to panic and his flying was all crooked and awkward.
Then, his communicator went off as a familiar voice rang through his audio receptors.
-Drill Boy, how are things on yo-...-
"I'm sorry, I would never think about doing such a thing!" Panicked Drill Boy in response, completely and effectively interrupting the caller as he had jumped at the voice.
-...Huh? I'm not sure what's going on but what are you talking about?- The voice being none other than Shadowmaru, though was clearly stunned at the sudden outburst of the younger 'bot. -I'm going to assume you were spacing out again.-
"N-No no no no no no, I... I was actually about to report about a jet!" Spluttered Drill Boy, quickly changing the subject.
-A jet? By itself or does it have others with it?-
"Just one jet, I tried talking to them but they didn't answer. Instead they chose to run away from me. I immediately saw it didn't belong to any air force when I got a good look at it, because all it had on it's body were just stripe like markings."
Shadowmaru was quiet for a moment, but then spoke again. -If you haven't lost the jet, keep an optic out for it. It could be the criminal that the military reported about having stolen a fighter aircraft from the air force base.-
Looking where he last saw the aircraft fly towards, Drill Boy paused for what felt like the longest time until he hesitantly spoke. "Uhh... About that..."
-You lost them...?- The silent response from Drill Boy was enough of an answer as he sighed in annoyance. -I'll be on the lookout for the jet you described, you should relocate it while I notify the others. Pay close attention.-
"Okaaaaaaaaaay." Came the cheerful response.
As time passed, Drill Boy and the others had returned to HQ where they discussed about the Soccer Detective's report about the fighter jet he saw during his patrol. Almost everyone immediately were pinpointing the sighted aircraft to be possibly the criminal who's stolen a jet while some weren't very sure about the description.
"Are you sure it didn't belong to the air force?" Deckerd asked Drill Boy. "Nothing suspicious that otherwise would've looked like they tried to hide the evidence that the Air Force insignias might've been spray painted over?"
"Yeah, it was this dark bluish colour with stripes slightly lighter than it's paint job. But no, I didn't see any spray painted marks..." Replied Drill Boy, shaking his helm.
"It's common that criminals would otherwise try to hide the insignias of where the aircraft they stole came from..." McCrane spoke next. "However they would not have taken the time to repaint the whole thing as they would prefer to do actions that would take them around a few minutes or less."
"But then, if it's not the person we're looking for, maybe it's some private owner?" Yuuta spoke next, thinking about it carefully then looked back to Drill Boy. "Drill Boy, can you describe it further or maybe draw a picture of what you saw?"
Nodding, Drill Boy turned to face his desk as he grabbed one of his pencils and two sheets of paper. As he was drawing what he saw, everyone else patiently waited until the Soccer Detective finished his drawing which only took about a minute and a half, now holding up the paper for everyone to see.
"...Either that's nothing but scribbles or you're just a terrible artist, Drill Boy." Power Joe spoke with a frown. "Does one of those drawings even look like the same jet you saw and where's the wings on that one?"
"It had it's wings out like this when I first saw it." Drill Boy replied, holding out one of the drawings. "But when I began to approach and try to talk to the pilots, the wings of the jet began to fold tightly close to it's body like in this other picture here." He explained, holding up the other drawing. "I don't know who came up with the design of that jet but how can an aircraft fly with it's wings much closer to it's body? Don't they need to have the wings outwards to fly properly?" Everyone looked at one another, not having the exact answer to what was shown. Deckerd approached Drill Boy with Yuuta in one of his servos so that his friend could get a better look at the drawings.
"What do you think, Boss? Since you might learn about these things in school, have you seen a jet like this?"
"Um... I've never seen a plane or a jet that looks like that, no." Replied Yuuta, shaking his head.
"If we're getting nowhere with this, it might be possible Drill Boy was just imagining things." Gunmax spoke up from his desk with a shrug.
"Whatever the case, it still might be very likely that this could still be the criminal we're looking into." Duke spoke up next, standing from his seat. "It's better not to take any chances if we choose to leave it roaming around the skies freely. Deckerd, Boss, I recommend that we have Drill Boy and Shadowmaru patrol the skies once more, see if they can try and find it again."
"Yes, I was thinking the same thing." Nodded Deckerd.
With things settled and both Deckerd and Yuuta giving the two Aerials orders to patrol the skies again, both Shadowmaru and Drill Boy left while Gunmax not long after left to investigate on a case he had received through his desk's phone.
...
Having spread out, Drill Boy chose to investigate the northern and eastern part of the city while Shadowmaru investigated the southern and western part. Everything seemed quiet and Drill Boy frowned at the thought of how it was starting to get dark. He was still clearly irritated when the others commented about the drawings he did, feeling like no one seemed to believe what he saw. With a sigh, he murmured to himself hoping that he would get lucky and spot the aircraft from before. He scanned his visuals in both the skies and down below, keeping a lookout. 'I'll make sure I'll catch it this time... Then everyone else will believe me.' He thought idly. 'I wonder if it has advanced sensors... Maybe I can follow it from a distance, see where it's going. I just hope it shows up soon before it gets too dark out since it's got a really dark coloured paint job and I don't have special sensors like Shadowmaru does...'
A little while later, there was a faint sound of engines roaring nearby. Drill Boy perked up and looked for the source of the sound immediately, quickly spotting the same jet as before. 'Ah! It reappeared! Okay, gotta keep my distance and watch it... If it's the criminal, everyone's going to be surprised once I confirm, catch, and show up with them in hand! Like two in one!' He kept his distance, observing the aircraft as he followed it. The direction of where it was going lead him towards the southern part of the city where he watched it descend down below a relatively quiet and poorly lit part of the city. 'I have a bad feeling about this...' The Mech didn't descend but simply watched and ensured that it wasn't getting any ideas of trying to disappear behind a skyscraper or two. He made sure that he didn't lose sight of it like he did last time, and it surprised him even further that the aircraft had turned around a couple skyscrapers built relatively close together.
'You're not getting away from me this time!' Diving down, Drill Boy flew towards where he last saw the aircraft. Another thing that came into mind was the fact that this part of Nanamagari City was relatively quiet at night, cars were not common here. 'I better be careful...' He thought, changing form as silent as he could be when he neared the ground, landing softly. Bringing out his handgun, he hugged the building close as he sidled silently near the corner until he was exactly at the edge. Hearing an odd noise, he curiously peeked from the edge quietly, his optics widened upon the sight as Drill Boy spotted what looked to be a fellow robot occupied with gathering a couple fuel canisters. 'What the- Is that the same jet...? No! a job is a job...!' Stepping out of cover, Drill boy trained his handgun at the unknown 'bot.
"Freeze! Brave Police Drill Boy!" He announced, the mysterious 'bot was startled, having stopped at what it was doing and it's attention in Drill Boy's direction. Immediately they grabbed a nearby object and tossed it in Drill Boy's direction, causing the Mech to yelp when he sidestepped out of the way of the incoming object. With this distraction, he watched as the figure changed it's form back into a jet and took off. "Tch, no doubt about that this must be a BP unit like me and the others!" He leapt into the skies and changed form, gunning his thrusters and giving chase.
"Shadowmaru, I've found the mysterious jet, hurry and come over here!" Exclaimed Drill Boy.
-On my way.- Replied Shadowmaru.
As Drill Boy continued to chase after the jet, he watched as the wings were sweeping closely towards it's body and beginning to pick up speed. "You won't lose me as easily as the last time!" He yelled at the aircraft, increasing his own speed to keep up all while he made no attempts of shooting it down.
The chase continued as Drill Boy had managed to keep his sights as the aircraft had attempted to shake him off, or lose him in the darkness of the night skies even when they had turned off their blinkers. When they suddenly dived, Drill Boy followed suit doing the same thing, but what took him off guard was when he saw the aircraft change form. "You! You're... You're like me!" He called out, but when the 'bot had drawn their handguns out, they opened fire all while the Soccer Detective Drill Boy dodged the incoming shots, but eventually had been hit in one of his wings. The shot not only painfully damaged his wing, but it had also managed to jam one of his ailerons, making flight difficult.
Forced to change form, Drill Boy winced at the pain he was going through as he descended to a land back on the ground. As much as he'd want to chase after the fleeing 'bot, he couldn't risk that it was also highly possible that not only was his damaged aileron jammed, but it was also possible that it could threaten to rip off, feeling how loose it was. "Shadowmaru, the jet... Isn't our criminal, but..." He paused for a moment. "Believe it or not, it's actually one of us!"
-I've seen, I've already planted a tracker while you distracted them. I'll call the others to investigate and lead them to the tracker's location once it's stopped moving.- Came the response, flying towards Drill Boy's location.
Stunned, the Soccer Detective looked clearly annoyed once Shadowmaru was in conversation range. "Why didn't you help me!? If we had witnessed that they were hostile, we could've been able to team up and catch them!"
"Had I involved myself, I would've given away my position and lose the opportunity to track them." Shadowmaru pointed out. "One of my special sensors may allow me to become undetected on all radars, but I can still be visually seen." Shadowmaru began making communications with the rest of their teammates, reporting about Drill Boy's aircraft. With the communications made and everyone on their way, the Ninja Detective decided to ask what else had the younger 'bot had seen before engaging them. When Drill Boy described what he saw before the chase began in the skies, he was... Unsure of what to make of this encounter.
"...And that's it. I haven't seen them do anything other than stealing a couple of fuel canisters, and it further confirms what I saw is really one of us." Drill Boy finished. "Since you've seen it yourself, there's no way anyone can't believe you."
"Hmm... The question would be, what are they doing here? How long have they been around the city? Well, the only thing we can do is wait. The target is still moving but it seems to be nearing a rural area a few kilometers northwest of the city."
"Maybe they could be someone from all the way in England? I can't think of any other teams that I know of..." Drill Boy replied curiously.
"If that were the case, not only would she have notified us immediately if someone from the Scotland Yard were coming to visit, but they would have contacted us from the start." Shadowmaru pointed out, then glanced in the direction of the road leading to the city as he spots the rest of their teammates almost at their location. He then descended down below to meet up with them as Drill Boy followed suit. "The target has stopped, they're not too far from our location and it seems to be near one of the roads." He told them once the others arrived.
"Good work, let's go investigate and see if this is our criminal or may lead clues to them." Replied Deckerd, letting Shadowmaru take the lead as the others followed.
...
Upon arriving at the location and changing form, Deckerd quickly gave the orders privately to redirect any cars driving towards the location in case the mysterious sighting might try to escape while Shadowmaru and Dumpson were told to stand on alert on either side of the cave and prepare for anything that might happen while Deckerd brought out his handgun and entered the cave. Keeping as quiet as possible, he wasn't sure how far deep this cave went, but a little further ahead, he cringed when he heard the sound of metal crumpling under one of his feet.
Moving his foot, he found that he stepped on an empty fuel canister, briefly looking at it then continuing forward but remained alert. Deckerd recalled when Shadowmaru had explained to him and the others on the way to the location that the jet they're looking into was one of them added that Drill Boy had spotted them stealing some fuel canisters had given further confirmation on the topic.
Fortunately, the cave wasn't as deep as he had thought, but when he got to an area that had a large clearing supported by large naturally formed columns, he found that there were a few more empty fuel canisters littered about but not many. 'Seems like they have been here just recently... I haven't seen any indications of humans being in here, no footprints save for-' Immediately Deckerd side rolled into a nearby boulder just as a shot rang. "This is the Brave Police, you're under arrest for theft and assault of a police officer!" Deckerd announced to the attacker, briefly checking to make sure he had his handgun loaded. He briefly peeked out from the corner of his cover, he could see just a short glance of the attacker but couldn't see them clearly before being forced to duck behind cover once again as a few more shots rang out. Immediately he returned fire when he heard the shots stop, forcing the attacker to also take cover behind what he saw was them taking cover behind one of the natural columns.
"Explain yourself as to why you're here." He called out before having to duck back into cover again when they opened fire. When the shots ceased, he quickly returned fire again but had to duck back when his handgun ran out of ammo. He also had received no answer from the attacker, which was possible that this might be another separate criminal that had the high possibility that they have somehow managed to get the plans and schematics for building others like him and his teammates. The thought of something like that falling into criminal hands made him shudder in disgust at the thought, hoping such a thing would never happen again as he recalled the Chieftains. Eventually when the attacker no longer returned fire, it was when Deckerd believed that they were out of ammo but wasn't going to let his guard down not even for a second. Slowly, he peeked from cover but didn't see any signs of returning fire nor had he heard any noise from the location.
He knew that they were still nearby, otherwise would they have sneakily tried to get through to the exit, Dumpson and Shadowmaru would've already engaged them and report to him.
After having peeked from cover for about a solid two minutes, he began making his way out despite it was a risky move. Keeping his visuals sharp for even the slightest movement, he began slowly approaching the area where the attacker took cover from, and when he paused for a moment as he was just near them, he quickly stepped towards the location, training his handgun.
To his surprise, he didn't see them there...
Wait...
Instincts kicking in, Deckerd quickly turned around and the two were at gunpoint. With this, the Brave Detective could now clearly see that it wasn't the criminal that he and the others were investigating into, but instead Drill Boy's discovery lead the team to finding another like them.
"You show great skill, but I'm not going to risk you dragging me all the way back to Germany." They spoke. "Someone like you must know where Deckerd is, I need to see him."
'I... can't understand what she's saying. What I do know however is that she's saying my name.' Thought Deckerd, not expecting the attacker to speak in a language he didn't understand. How was he going to communicate with her? There was no doubt however that she's sentient just like him and his teammates.
"I can't understand what you're saying, but you should lower your weapons. We're allies." He told her calmly, despite that he knew this was going to be a challenge to get anywhere. However an idea came into mind, perhaps Shadowmaru might be able to translate what she's saying as he began to ask him if one of his special sensors had come with language translations. He kept his movements still all while discreetly communicating with the Ninja Detective, as he wasn't sure if the German Brave had used up all of her ammunition. But unfortunately he was met with a response that he had no such equipment meant for translating foreign languages.
"I'll ask once more." Radiant Prism continued. "Where is Deckerd, I need to see him."
'I really don't want to hurt a fellow police officer... It's possible she might have a communicator similar to mine and the Scotland Yard's communicators... Maybe once she sees it, she'll most likely understand that I'm also a fellow police officer and hopefully can lower her weapons.' Very slowly, with his free hand, Deckerd managed to pull out his badge, showing it to her once he managed to cautiously pull it out. The German Brave took notice but remained cautious, ready to react in case Deckerd tried any funny business, but as soon as she saw the communicator, it was enough to confirm that yes, the one in front of her is one of the members of the original Brave Police here in Japan and not some possible trick. As Deckerd expected, he saw her expression seemingly soften just slightly, followed by seeing her put one of her handguns away into her forearm, she too also took out and showed him her own badge, the same design except for when she opened hers, it displayed the crest with the country's flag instead of the Asahikage like his and his teammates.
"Brave Police Radiant Prism."
Having no need to have his handgun out any longer, Deckerd holstered his handgun after he saw Radiant Prism did the same with her remaining handgun.
-Deckerd, is everything okay in there? Everyone is getting worried since traffic is building up on the others' end since Power Joe, McCrane, and Drill Boy are telling me that there are some drivers who refuse to turn away and find a different route.- Came Yuuta's concerned voice through his communicator, which immediately startled the blue Mech.
"I'm fine, Yuuta." Deckerd replied, but however before he could speak again, the German Brave spoke up.
"I may not know what the speaker is saying through your communicator, but something tells me that they're addressing you as Deckerd, the one Redlight has told me to seek out. You and your team can help me as he told me you and the others know how to help." She told Deckerd, crossing her arms over her chest.
-Eh? ...Who was that?-
"A fellow Brave Police officer. I'll be out shortly." Deckerd replied, though was worried about how was he going to deal with the language barrier between him and the other police officer. Knowing that Radiant Prism will need to be taken back to base, he wasn't sure how he was going to tell her to follow him and the others back.
What he did for now was gestured her to follow him out of the cave as he knew that despite if people suffered from language barriers, there were things everyone could understand visually.
When Deckerd came out of the cave, Dumpson and Shadowmaru greeted him, but upon spotting the unknown 'bot, they quickly trained their handguns on her, in which caused Radiant Prism to take out her own handguns, Deckerd immediately ordered them to stand down, and that she's a fellow police officer like them. The two were instantly puzzled when Deckerd addressed the mysterious 'bot as a 'she' but did as ordered, holstering their handguns but were still wary of her.
"Never thought I'd be seeing another Brave from another country." Dumpson commented. "Aside from us, there's the Scotland Yard Regina has built, but other countries? Never heard of them, but it sounds like some have already started getting their own Brave Police teams."
"For now, we should all head back to base and I'll explain everything along the way." Deckerd replied. "Shadowmaru, can you try and lead Radiant Prism back to base? See if you can try to tell her we're heading back."
"I shall try my best." Came Shadowmaru's response.
"Everyone, return back to HQ." Came Deckerd's order through the communicator.
...
It had proven to be difficult getting the foreign police officer back to base. After Deckerd explained everything to his teammates about Radiant Prism, what the others had all agreed upon during the trip back was that Radiant Prism needed to see Toudou and his mechanics immediately and get her language program updated with the Japanese language so that she could understand and communicate with them. When they did get back, it was even more difficult for when she began hesitating on entering, Shadowmaru immediately identified with the use of his sensors that Radiant Prism's afraid, while someone else managed to quickly figure and point out that she didn't approach Deckerd when he had Yuuta on his shoulder, and it was no doubt that she was clearly afraid or simply distrusted humans.
It took a lot of effort to coax Radiant Prism inside, having to have some of the staff members hide themselves temporarily from her so that she wouldn't freeze in place too much. The Brave Police were relieved at least that she didn't dare train her handguns at a human, but it was clear that whenever she spotted any of the human staff or even Yuuta, she'd freeze and back away from them. Eventually Dumpson, being the strongest of the team, had to drag her inside and all the way to the team's office when she still didn't move any further.
"Whatever the reason is behind Radiant Prism's unusual fear of humans, she's completely unfit to be a police officer the way she is now. It's also highly possible that she won't let any of the mechanics perform any maintenance on her." Duke pointed out once everyone was in the office.
"We'll figure that out once we find a way to get her to trust at least some of the staff here." McCrane replied. "But not right now, we'll have to figure things out tomorrow. Just about everyone else has left work for the night and it's getting late."
Immediately Deckerd noticed the time, and he and Yuuta should've been back home a few minutes ago. He thought for a moment, then spoke. "Here's what we'll do. Tomorrow we will try and introduce her to some of the staff slowly. One of us will have to explain to Saejima and Azuma about her being here once they're here."
"Um... Maybe wait on Azuma?" Drill Boy spoke up. "With that attitude of his that we all know, what if he further fuels Radiant Prism's distrust of humans?"
Silence.
"Hate to interrupt the conversation but the kid's fallen asleep." Gunmax spoke, jabbing his thumb over towards Yuuta's desk.
"We should all head to our docking cradles and recharge. Let's figure things out tomorrow." Power Joe spoke next, stretching his arms and taking his leave.
"Yes, see you all in the morning." Deckerd replied, watching his teammates leave to recharge.
His attention then turned to Yuuta, knowing that he'll have to find someone to help put him in his driver's seat as he couldn't do it himself. Quietly walking over to his friend's desk, he gently and carefully removed him from his desk, doing his best not to wake him up. When he finally got Yuuta situated in his servos securely, he noticed to the left that Radiant Prism had silently picked a random spot to recharge. Knowing it was unwise to disturb her and try to get her to recharge elsewhere considering her fear of humans, he left her be. As he made his way over towards the doors, he felt some slight movement and was ready to apologise to Yuuta for waking him up, but instead was met with the sight of the young boy shifting himself in his servos to make himself more comfortable.
Deckerd couldn't help but smile warmly at this.
