Hello all...um.. welcome to Chapter 3! This will be the first new chapter that hasn't been posted anywhere before until today. We're going to get a bit more information about Treeko and a few other Pokémon who may be showing up again in the future.
It's rough around the edges, but I hope I was able to get the story across well enough. I won't say anything more than this.
See you at the bottom, here is chapter 3.

Chapter 3: A Familiar Situation
*General P.O.V*
Conan/Shinichi and Treeko continued on their trip to the nearest town. But the journey was taking quite longer than either of them thought. But Treeko didn't mind, the trip gave him an opportunity to educate the young boy, now known as Little Pip, in the basic ideas he seemed to lack. The little Piplup wasn't all that interested, but he did his best to pay attention. If he was to be stuck in this world for who knows how long, may as well get a run down of how things work. Also knowing things would help him look less like an ignorant child than he appeared.
Treeko talked about the types of Pokémon that lived around here, also making sure to include an explanation about their typing. It did help that elements were closely linked to nature, and soon Conan/Shinichi got the basics element weaknesses and resistances. Grass was scorched by fire, while fire is dowsed by water, and water does little to grass. Since he was a water type, he needed to be cautious around grass types like Treeko-san since they have the upper hand in battle. As for other elements, those would take a little while to remember, but he was sure it would make sense with his understanding of science as a guide.
As Treeko taught "Little Pip," there would be moments where he would stop to ask questions. Treeko would only return with a smile and answer simply as if it was the most obvious answer, it wasn't the boy's fault that things just didn't make complete sense. Treeko didn't understand Little Pip sometimes, the basic concepts were very foreign to him while more complex ideas were well understood. He saw how annoyed the little Piplup had gotten each time to something that seemed to defy what he understood in his mind while he always tried to hold back the laughter. This was fun, he felt like a teacher or an older brother trying to share knowledge while the youngling was struggling understand it all. It felt kind of refreshing. Normally, children would pester him with childish and senseless questions that didn't have an answer because it was an idea that only made sense to them. Or other times they would ask the same question repeatedly but phrased differently still yielding the same answer that they didn't get. As for Little Pip, he was an exception, his questions were more grounded in reality, held more sense, and were far more easier to answer. Maybe he just didn't have the imagination to correct most children's fantasies, but with Little Pip it wasn't the case. Sure, the boy had claimed he lost his memories, but even so, he was like a breath of fresh air. He had to wonder though, how was this young child able to carry himself with maturity and comprehend complex subjects? He looked like a hatchling, but his actions and mannerisms said otherwise. Little Pip was becoming quite the mystery.
The sun was beginning to fade down into the horizon when the duo finally made it near the town gates. Conan/Shinichi was asking several questions about some new information that Treeko-nii-san had shared. Treeko raised his brows at this when he first added "nii-san" but he explained that this was an honorific used to honor boys a little older than he. He nodded deciding not to question it and would save it for another time. He also noticed that Little Pip wasn't using his name after introducing himself, maybe he didn't feel comfortable with him or being on a first name in general. Treeko didn't want to think about things anymore, he was tired, it was a long day and he just wanted to take Little Pip to the station and go home. Maybe he could get one of the officers to teleport him home to save time? He wished he had the youthful energy that Little Pip had, ah to be young again. No, he couldn't think that way, he was still in his prime, he was only a teenager, young enough to be energetic and old enough to make a difference.
As they came closer to the town entrance, they heard a commotion by one of the large huts just on the outskirts of the town. Instinctively, Shinichi/Conan ran toward the hut without a second thought. Treeko watched him go, but he reacted a bit too late and lagged behind the young boy. As the young boy got closer, he heard an uproar of worries and complaints, someone was telling another "to find her" and "hurry up." When he finally got there, he spotted a large red bird with a frilled black feathers on the end of the wings and tail, and on her head was a white bun with a hanging feather swirl that reminded him of loose hair. The bird was consoling a pinkish purple bulldog standing on his hind legs and with an angered face baring his 4 large canine fangs.
"Calm down please, Mr. Granbull. I can't find her unless you tell me the details." The bird looked tensed but tried to hide it with her soothing tone.
"Calm down? Calm down?! My princess is missing and someone has taken her! How can I calm down!?" The bull-dog now known as Mr. Granbull wasn't pleased.
"We'll do our best to find your daughter, but we need to know what happened. But we can't do anything until you tell us the details calmly."
Mr. Granbull slowly breathed in and out, attempting to relax. From behind, Shinichi/Conan saw another, a humanoid creat… er… Polkamon(?) with a lanky body and a design that reminded him of a clown. The clown Pokémon went behind Mr. Granbull and rubbed his back in circular motions.
Around this point, Treeko finally caught up with Little Pip and loudly whispered, "Little Pip, what are you doing? You shouldn't be here! "
Conan/Shinichi shushed him and pointed at the scene. Treeko looked that way and saw what was going on.
"Okay, thank you Mr. Mime. I've relaxed now. I'm sorry Chief, get so agitated when it comes to my child's wellbeing."
"As do many other parents."
Treeko observed the two Pokémon talk, thinking aloud, "Looks like Chief Oricorio will have her hands full tonight."
Conan/Shinichi looked and Treeko-nii-san curiously, "Chief?"
"Yeah, the red bird Pokémon you see there, that's Chief Oricorio. She's head of all the officers on this and the surrounding islands. This island we're on is the main base of operation."
Shinichi/Conan felt comfortable hearing about the officers and the chief, it was familiar. For a second, his head hurt as images of various police officers, detectives, and chiefs flashed in mind only to be forgotten again. He held his head as he shook it, ignoring that headache and looked back to pay attention to the conversation.
Meanwhile, Treeko was observing the whole scene. Police work was something he admired, but he still had a long way to go before he could even match their skills. He admired their work so much that he wanted to make a difference in the world like they did. Sure, being a rescue team, a explorer team, or even a research team could make a difference, but something about working with those around you in an everyday setting had interested him more. He carefully watched the chief as she began to strike up conversation with both Pokémon, but his concentration broke when he saw Little Pip right in front of the Granbull. What was he doing there? His question was soon answered when Little Pip spoke, "Sir, when was the last time you saw your daughter?"
This caught the three Pokémon by surprise, they were probably wondering where he came from. Treeko then realized, he was there on the scene. He had to move fast and get him out. As he rushed over there, he absentmindedly thought that he really needed to train to have a better reaction time to sudden events. In a flight or fight situation, he tended to freeze first before taking action. He didn't want that coming back to bite him in the tail later.
Chief Oricorio was baffled. Who was this child and why was he trying to do HER job? She was about to speak when she saw a blur of green go past her and up to the small Piplup grabbing his flipper. This action apparently startled the water Pokémon as he was being pulled out of her way. She looked up at who was attempting to pull the child away that clearly was trying to resist it, turns out it was none other than Treeko, local island resident and often a silent observer. Whenever there was a case, they wouldn't be surprised to find him around somewhere nearby watching.
"Treeko? What are you doing here and who is this child?" She asked calmly but with sharpness in her tone.
"I'm sorry Chief, we were about to come into town when this little one got away from me and ran off here."
"I see. As much as I would like to question you further, I need to help Mr. Granbull here with his case. So for now, please stay close."
Treeko went wide eyed, "Stay?"
She nodded, "Yes, stay. This is actually fortunate, the little guy could keep the other witness company."
"Witness?" Both he and Conan/Shinichi asked.
"Yes, over there, a young Houndour was playing with the girl and was most likely the last to see her. But she won't open up or let me come close, possibly sad her friend is missing. Maybe this little guy could keep Houndour company?" She points to the little black and red dog with medal plates on various parts of her body.
Treeko understood, this was an order from the Chief, so he needed to follow her word. "Sure thing Chief, we'll keep the little one company."
She nodded then faced the other two Pokémon and began to start questioning them. Shinichi/Conan wasn't too pleased about the development. He wanted to solve this case, but instead he was left with a babysitter and a playmate. He was being placed to the side of another investigation as usual. Why did his age matter so much? Wait… as usual? Had this happened before? Well, there was another thought he would have to file away and think about later. For now, even if he was to be a playmate, he was keeping his ears open and eavesdropped as Mr. Granbull and what he guessed was a worker, maybe a butler were being questioned.
The two got a little closer to the Houndour, Treeko nervously stayed a bit further away than he did. He wondered why? Houndour's ears moved, hearing something behind her. She picked up her head and looked at Little Piplup curiously. He noted her facial expression didn't look sad, but rather bored, at least until now. It was then she ran up and sniffed him a bit before her expression changed. "Hiya! Never seen you on the island before? Then again, I've only been here a week. Our families just happened to be on vacation together at the same time and that's how we met! We're here for two months before we go home. So, do you live here or are you on vacation too? Are you here to play with Snubble and I? Are you? Are you?"
*Treeko's P.O.V*
I watched as "Little Pip" was bombarded with question after question by the rambunctious Houndour. It was funny to see him squirm as he tried to answer a question then try to ask his own only to be met with more questions by her. It was rather cute, the little mature face he wore was replaced by one overwhelmed with bewilderment. His eyes were wide and smile awkward unable to handle all that energy of her many questions. I was wary of the Houndour, this natural instinct kicks in once in awhile when a fire type is around. It's gotten better as I grew, but every now and again, it kicked back in during non-threatening situations. Good for battle, not good for going around town. But after seeing how friendly she was with Little Pip, maybe I was wrong to avoid her.
I noticed Mr. Mime had come next to me. He must have answered enough questions to satisfy the Chief for now. I looked at Pokémon and saw him looking amazed at the two children. "Well, this is surprising!"
"What is it?" I asked, curious about what he found surprising.
"You see, when we first met little Houndour, she pretty much barked at everyone. Whether they were older or younger, she barked at them, including me. According to her parents, it's an instinct of theirs, especially when they're young. Young Houndour have a hard time distinguishing friend from foe. But when the young mistress first met Houndour, she never barked, and they became great friends these past few days. I've witnessed her barking at everyone else while they played and explored the island, but never at her and now the young lad."
"Really?"
"Yes, but since she has become familiar with our family, she never barks at us anymore."
That was intriguing. From the bits and pieces I got to hear while they were being questioned, Mr. Granbull did claim his daughter was possibly taken and like the butler had said, the two girls were last seen playing together before she went missing. But if that were true, wouldn't she have barked at a stranger who approached them while playing? If she was the last to see her, wouldn't she have made a fuss for her best friend? But it seemed she didn't and she clearly was the expressive type who didn't seem shy about speaking. I wanted to test Mr. Mime's words and so I approached the two children. True to word, as soon as I got a bit closer, she stopped talking with Little Pip and was on her guard growling menacingly, ready to bark. I took one step closer and she was barking up a storm. I took a few steps back and she was still barking, but not as much as when someone got too close. Mr. Mime's words were true. Oh wait, I forgot, Little Pip was over there, I hope he didn't get too startled.
I looked over to him and, huh? What's with the look in his eyes? It was like he was staring at something far away. Wait, he lit up, that's a face I usually see when someone has realized something important. Wait, he's running over to the Chief? He's running over to the chief. He's running over to the chief!
"Oh! I gotta go stop him!"
But it was too late, Little Pip made it to the Chief and Mr. Granbull. Everyone else noticed him and were about to push him to the side, but something happened. His demeanor changed, his stance was firm, his eyes focused and calculating, and his smile curled up into a confident smirk. Everyone's attention fell on the boy who now seemed years older despite his height. They all watched as he gave quite a show. He explained that no one unfamiliar could have possibly passed by while the two were playing. Also the reason for the disappearance was because of Houndour. She went missing because they wanted to get Mr. Granbull's attention. Ever since they came, it's been nothing but work for him. They came for a vacation, but he ended up doing work away from home anyway, thinking about ways to improve his businesses on the other continents and beyond. So with the help of the butler, they faked her disappearance, and staged it as a fake kidnapping. They made the daughter hide elsewhere while Houndour pretended that she had disappeared so her dad could rescue her and spend time with her.
Houndour, after being shocked that Little Pip had found out her secret, spoke up and confirmed that this was true they wanted to make it look like she disappeared, but also denied that Mr. Mime was apart of the plan and there was no fake Pokénapping. This confused him a bit before he sheepishly smiled and scratched his cheek, apologizing that the idea had come out of nowhere.
All I could do was watch and listen, aside from his little blunder, I was impressed by his deduction and the overall accuracy. Was this really the same Piplup I found hours ago who was lost and clueless about what a Pokémon was? Sure he was rather mature and pretty grounded in understanding complex ideas, but was this really him? I could hardly believe it. His deductions aligned with both the evidence and what I personally could piece together myself. But his was more detailed, including things I didn't even take into account. He's just a hatchling, a child? What?
By the time he finished his deduction, we all were stunned. We didn't react for a few seconds until Little Pip asked, "Oi! You guys? Are you listening?"
Chief Oricorio was the first to snap out of it, she called out to Houndour and asked if she could show us the hiding spot where her friend Snubble was. She simply nodded and walked to the back where there was a forested area behind the vacation huts on the outskirts of town. We all followed Houndour, the Chief and I maintained our distance from her until she stopped.
"Snubble? Subble? Where are you? Your dad's here! You can come out now!" Houndour yelled out as her head swiveled to and fro looking for Snubble.
A piece of crumpled paper caught my eye as she looked around, I picked it up and was shocked by the content. Immediately I got everyone's attention and handed the paper over to the Chief. She read it aloud to everyone,
"I have the girl, if you want her back it's 10,000 Poké. Leave the funds…"
The rest of the paper was illegible, ink scratching the rest of the words out. Chief deduced that whoever it was wanted to leave the note, but either didn't know which hut she was staying in or wanted to change the contents and deliver the message the next day. She then looked at all of us and gave us orders, "Treeko, take the children and go to the huts or take them to the station and wait there. Just keep the children safe!"
"Yes Chief." I saluted.
"Mr. Granbull and Mr. Mime, come with me, we'll need to discuss a course of action about the planned ransom." The two nodded and off they went leaving Houndour, Little Pip, and I to walk back to the huts and wait.
*Shinichi/Conan's P.O.V.*
Chief-san, Granbull-san, and Mime-san had all left so suddenly, leaving Houndour-san, Treeko-nii-san, and I by ourselves in the forest. Thinking back to earlier that evening, this case had been giving me a sense of deja-vu. The people… er… Polkamon(?) were all different, but the situation felt similar to something I once was apart of before. Also, where did the idea that Mime-san assisted Houndour in a fake kidnapping come from anyway? What a way to ruin my deduction. At least most of the information was accurate.
Wait, this was no time to think about the flaw, there's a more pressing matter, the current whereabouts of the daughter named Snubble. Wait a minute, there's something brightly colored over there. Right, I can't pick it up with my hand… flippers, it may contaminate it if it's evidence. But seeing as I have no gloves or handkerchief, I'll make do with that big fallen leaf to pick it up. Houndour notice I picked something up and looked shockingly at what was in my hand. It was a red ribbon with white polkadots.
"That's Snubble's Joy Ribbon!"
"Joy Ribbon?"
"Yeah, that's what it's called anyway, I'm not sure why. But all the time I've played with her, she never took it off."
She never took it off, then that mean it must be filled with her scent, right? I looked at Houndour and asked, "Hey, how good is your sense of smell?"
She looked at me oddly, "It's fine, not as great as my mom or dad's but I can smell things really well. Why?"
I held up the ribbon near her nose, "Can you smell Snubble's scent?"
That one question was all it took, she understood what I was trying to do. Immediately, she smelled the ribbon and then started running deeper into the forest. I followed after her and soon we came upon a set of stairs leading down in the middle of the forest? What was this doing here?
"This is where her scent is coming from, she should be down there somewhere."
"Alright Houndour, let's go."
"Right."
So down we descended into the random stairs in the middle of the forest. She kept following the scent with her nose, but got turned around a few times and ran into dead ends. She would sometimes say that the scent kept going in that direction, but the wall in her way said otherwise. Eventually we would find another set of stairs off to the side or elsewhere nearby. This place was weird, she claimed her nose was for sure on the right path, but the path itself wasn't true. Did this place mess with her sense of smell? We continued the pattern of going down 4 flights of stairs and now finding a fifth. This stairway must have been the last we needed to descend cause we both could hear voices coming just from past the tunnel. As we both exited the tunnel where the last flight of stairs had lead us, we came to a large cavern and saw two figures. One was a black and gray salamander like ani… Polkamon(?) - he really needed to get use to that word already and find out if he was pronouncing it correctly - and the other a small pinkish bulldog who looked frightened.
"Snubble!" Houndour called out her scared friend who looked slightly relieved to see her too.
"Houndour!" Snubble cried out.
"Oi!" Was all I could say, she wasn't thinking about not getting the attention of the kidnapper. But it was too late. He saw both of us.
"Ahh, more of your friends I see? Well then, this is perfect. More Poképarents to send ransoms to and claim my spoils."
Houndour growled fiercely, "Who are you?"
"I'm Salandit, and YOI foolish children were unwise to come here by yourselves. With you here and with no escape, I shan't worry about my money problems every again! I'll make your parents pay me every last Poké from their pockets."
Houndour growled and yelled, "Grrr, Only bad Pokémon steal. The good ones earn in fair and square, like my parents. You're also mean cause you're hurting my friend!"
Salandit smirked, "So what you going to do about it?"
Houndour stomped on her 2 front paws and howled, "I'm going to save my friend!"
Salandit's claws raised up, "WELL then, come and get me!"
Houdour leaned her body back, cocked her head up and in a quick motion yelled "Ember!" as her head shot back down. Salandit dodged it with ease and returned fire also yelling "Ember!"
This shocked Houndour as Salandit smiled tauntingly, "You're not the only fire type here, Houndy."
This apparently upset Houndour and she turned her head to look at me, "You're a Piplup, right? Can't you use any water moves?"
"Wha?!"
"Water, come on, that weakens fire types like Salandit and I. Come on, I need your help. Even if you can't, any attack will do!"
At that moment, I didn't know what to do, I felt helpless. I didn't even know how to use these powers, how could I get those saliva bubbles to appear again?
Salandit must have noticed that Houndour wasn't moving and immediately went straight for her and yelled "Scratch!" The salamander was successful in landing a move on poor Houndour, but she stood her ground and called out another ember attack which was able to hit. Salandit grunted in pain, "Ahhguh, I'll get you for that."
The battle continued on, with Houndour returning multiple ember attacks with most of them missing Salandit. He was still frozen in place, unable to do anything. He felt helpless. Then he heard Houndour's loud whimper, the cry of an injured dog. He was now in front of her, probably trying to protect him while he was distracted. Salandit was slowly approaching, teeth glowing a bright purple, a venomous attack.
"What can I do? I have to protect her! I have to protect…" his head hurt as a vision played out in his mind. It was…
*Treeko's P.O.V* (About 10 Minutes Before)
I can't believe they nearly slipped away from me, at least I caught up to them. But where do I find they stumbled into? A Mystery Dungeon. Perfect… Not! This is bad, I never got the opportunity to tell Little Pip about Mystery Dungeons. There's no telling what will happen down there. He also has no escape orbs yet and neither do I, just great. There was no choice, I have to go down there and find them both. Chief Oricorio is on the case, so I'm sure she'll find us, unless a rescue team comes first. If that happens, the Chief is totally going to have a hot head over this, especially if one of her sister's rescue teams get involved. Before I go down, I'll quickly press my tail into the ground to make a noticeable indent. Now if the Chief were to come this way, she'd know we're in the Dungeon.
The Dungeon was fairly quiet, the Pokémon that were living here don't seem too interested in me. There a couple that did attack me, but I managed to pull through. They were fairly weak so I go by quickly. Mystery Dungeons were a strange occurrence in this world. Pokémon who lived in them seemed to be on the wilder side as well as territorial. Space bent unnaturally in these places, but the inhabitants seemed to be use to the constantly shifting layout. Great for them, terrible for the explorers, rescuers, researchers, and the police. Every time someone enter the same dungeon, they'll always see different rooms or tunnels that lead you in circles or to dead ends. It was a nightmare trying to find the next way down or up, also they could stretch as far as 99 floor levels. That's why no one could ever fully map out these places. Explorers were mostly the ones who went that far in, rescuers were the second, they only went in if absolutely necessary. Fortunately, there haven't been too many accounts of a Pokémon getting stuck too hight up or deep down, with the exception of the explorers themselves.
Yes, stairs, please let these be the last flight. As I descended, I heard voices.
"Ember!"
That was, Houndour! I ran quickly through the tunnel and there I saw them, Little Pip, Houndour, the Pokénapped Snubble and the culprit behind the incident, a Salandit.
From what he knew, Salandit that lived here on this island were kind Pokémon, some even hospitable. On other islands, they're not as kind, they're more reserved and keeping to themselves, I guess something about this island makes them more docile and friendlier? This particular Salandit, he wasn't fitting any of the molds. Pokénapping little ones, what an horrible crime.
He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Houndour, whimper in pain. Houndour was on the floor in front of Little Pip and Salandit looked about ready to attack with a Poison Fang. Little Pip was frozen in place, looking like a scared helpless child, unable to do anything to stop this. I couldn't move either, so instead I called out to him hoping he would move.
"Pip, hurry, use your bubble attack now!"
That seemed to have worked, Little Pip screamed much like the first time he used the attack and the bubbles were unleashed. It was enough to distract Salandit for me to get in a move.
"Pound attack!" Salandit was down, but still not out yet, but Houndour was quick to follow and used a Bite attack on Salandit. Finally, I followed up with "Leech Seed!" That seemed to do the trick, and I could see that the Pokénapper was knocked out.
Little Snubble was crying as Houndour went up to her and nuzzled her, calming her down while repeatedly telling her, "Everything is okay."
As for Little Pip, he was still in shock. Poor little guy, his first battle must have scared him. He wasn't moving at all. I decided to pick him up and carry him over to the girls, when I did, he hugged me tightly, not letting go even as I sat down with the girls to wait for help. I fired an extra leech seed at Salandit just in case, the doubling of the vines would help keep that terrible Pokénapper secure until they were all found.
*General P.O.V*
It was about 10 minutes or so after the fight when the little white Pokémon with a green head that looked like a helmet called Ralts had found the group with the defeated Salandit. Ralts gathered them all together and raised the badge to exit the dungeon. Outside, Chief Oricorio was with other officers. When Ralts returned, they were surprised and impressed by the sight. The missing Snubble and a fainted, leech seeded Salandit, the guilty party responsible for the crime. Treeko gave his story about what went down as well as Houndour. She wanted Piplup's account, but he still looked somewhat out of it. He had come out of his shock not long ago, but he wasn't reacting as quickly. Really, Conan/Shinichi was lost in thought, trying to remember what exactly happened. The two girls tapped him and that caused him to look up.
Snubble acted a bit shy around him, "Um… thank you for helping to save me Piplup. I… I don't… I don't know what would have happened if I… if we were all taken down. So… um… thank you." She gave him a small kiss on the right cheek, which made Conan/Shinichi blush.
Houndour on the other hand had other things to say, "You know, it would have been more helpful if you had done your attack sooner," but then she smiled, "Hey, at least we're okay. So thanks!" Houndour also gave him a small kiss on his left cheek. His cheeks were becoming even redder as he quietly said, "You're welcome."
Treeko took a jabbed at Little Pip, "Look at you, two girlfriends in one day. You're turning into quite the player."
"Nuh.. nuhh.. no." He stammered, he couldn't come up with any other words as his whole face began to turn a shade of red. Looks like all Piplup, or maybe just him, can't hide their embarrassment well.
Oricorio talked to Mr. Granbull, she told him to go home and rest but also to make sure they came by the station in the morning so they could get their statements. He nodded and motioned to the girls it was time to go home. The girls sighed in disappointment, but then they both yawned, looks like it was time to go after all.
As they walked, the girls waved goodbye and yelled out, "Bye Piplup! Let's play together sometime! We're on vacation here till the end of next month, so let's have fun together!" He responded by waving his flipper back awkwardly while nodding his head.
As the group left, leaving Treeko, Chief Oricorio, and himself, he thought sadly that he now had another group of girls to add to the list of the many little girls that were crushing on him. He paused at that, great, another out off place memory to file away for a later date.
Now that everyone was gone, the chief turned to the two remaining Pokémon, "Now that the case has been resolved, let's talk."
Treeko was instinctively backing away while holding Little Pip's flipper, it was a similar action like the time with Houndour. Her wings flapped to the beat of a song neither could hear and all around them a ring of fire ignited. She moved and stepped beautifully, dancing to maybe a tango and the flames grew intense. Treeko hugged the little Piplup tightly as the chief continued her dance, it was as if he bracing himself for pain and he was the stress ball to squeeze.
Her calm, cool self was replaced by fiery burning passion mixed with a bit of anger. "Do you have any idea what you have done? What dangers you placed yourself in? You danced a very dangerous Tango with your life and the boy's! Even a dancer know that to take daring leap and preform extraordinary moves, it requires preparation! Your actions were foolhardy and your lack of thinking nearly got you into trouble! You may have tap-danced around the dangers, but that didn't stop you from shuffling into a dangerous situation. How frivolous! What do you have to say for yourselves?!" Her voice was oddly entrancing and yet so stern, it felt like a older sister scolding a sibling.
Conan/Shinichi looked up at Treeko who was sweating bullets, he looked scared, terrified even. "I'm sorry! We're sorry! We learned our lesson, just please stop the fire!" He screamed the last part.
Oricorio snapped out of her fiery dance, flapped her wings, and the fires died down. The air was getting cooler once again.
"I'm sorry, I over did it again. When I get upset, I must express it in the way I know how. My dance of fury!" She dramatically posed herself in what he assumed was a another dance pose, one arm high in the air, another posed down on her waist as she looked up to the sky. Meanwhile Conan/Shinichi looked at Treeko-nii-san who was panting, he really must not do well with fire. If he remembered right, grass types like him were weak to fire, but was it supposed to be this bad?
"You know," both boys look to the Chief, "I can't say I'm too pleased with your reckless actions, but I'll let it slide for now. I can see you're both exhausted and look ready to collapse." They nodded. "Come with me to the station and I'll set you up in the temporary quarters there. It will be easier and the officers who will take your statements tomorrow. One less thing to worry about." She then opened her bag and took out two passes with red lanyards attached. "Here, take these visitor passes. When we get there, show it at the front desk, they'll set you up in the quarters for the night."
Treeko nodded in understanding, he wore one and helped Little Pip wear the other.
"Come on Little Pip, let's go." Little Pip nodded slowly, looks like he was getting sleepy too. He decided to pick him up and carry him the rest of the way back, he did push a little but eventually gave in and let himself be carried. While walking, he slowly drifted off to sleep.
Chief Oricorio watched the little Piplup try to fight sleep. He was failing miserably, the battle with his eyelids was becoming harder to open with each resistance. Eventually he finally gave up, and he became oblivious to the world. She thought he was adorable, but then she remembered the events from earlier in the evening. Where did he come from and how had he done the things he had? Judging by his size, he was much smaller than the average baby Piplup, she has seen her fair share of eggs hatching Piplup in her younger days. This little guy must have been the runt of his creche or he was a new hatchling. But that didn't explain what she saw today. His confidence, the way he carried himself as he presented his deduction show spoke volumes. He was a paradox, so young in stature yet so gifted with knowledge and skill beyond his years. His eyes looked so much older than the body he was born in. Who was this mysterious child?

So how was it? Were you able to tell what I was referencing for the first case in this world? As you probably guessed, I am going to involve cases for our boys to solve. Some drawing from familiar cases Conan experienced but with Poké twists while others I'll try to make an original case. Ideas and feedback are always appreciated on how to better these chapters. Now onto other things:
Shinichi/Conan walked right into his first Mystery Dungeon and didn't encounter a single Pokémon or trap? Yeah... I just needed a way to introduce the dungeon without any context for him. He needed to experience his first danger with a boss fight before knowing there were more dangers than this. Did that make any sense? Maybe?
As for Treeko, his dream is to work on the Police force and help his community. We'll be following their journey as he develops his skills and becomes better in battle, reaction, and eventually working his dream job. Or will we?
Finally for Chief Oricorio, she's in Ballé form, she can be the other forms but preferred this cause it matched her personality and interests best. Hopefully I didn't overdo or incorrectly use the dance terms wrong.
Well... Thank-Q for reading, see you next chapter!
