Hi again... welcome to the next part! I didn't forget to update, okay, I just got distracted by priorities of life. That and the 2.0 Update for ACNH, BDSP, and other games took my attention when I wasn't doing work, and somehow I just never finished up working on the next chapter. But now, you're reading this, so that means I finally finished writing it and you get to read it. Right? I have had this written for a while, but I never finished cause I wasn't exactly satisfied with how the case turned out. So I did something else.
Okay, today we'll be introduced to two more new locations that aren't the school and a small case. Nothing big yet, It's just so I can get a feel for how to write my own mystery. I can figure out cases on tv/books, but writing them... Uh... Yeah... Well, I'll leave that to you to decide.
That's all I'll say, I guess... See you at bottom, here's chapter 9.

Chapter 9: Notebooks & A Mystery At ClefairyTale Theatre
The days since first staying with Treeko-nii passed by so fast, it was a blur of event after event. During these days, all the two did was go back and forth from town to the tree house. The matters of his lodging, school needs, and preparation for filing reports about "Piplup" being found were all settled. Yes. No. Possibly. I don't remember? How should I know? These were his main go to answers as the chief questioned him about what he possibly remembered - of course omitting the fact he remembers he was once human - about his life. The chief got this sparkle in her eyes every time he answered, her body language gave away her frustrations while her emotions revealed her craving of answers. To her, he was the puzzle that just needed the right pieces to get the bigger picture. He was quite relieved that this was all over, at least for now. Who knows what will happen once he and Treeko-nii's mentorship truly began.
Currently, he was under the water again. Something about the spring brought him peace of mind. It was here that all the concerns could dissolve and his thoughts could become clear, a perfect place to think. He couldn't recall enjoying the submersion in water as being a pleasurable escape when he was human, but now it was the greatest relaxant to his muddled mind. Perhaps it's because he's a water type that this was so. Or maybe he never took time to appreciate lazily drifting under the water. Either way, he felt alleviated every time he came. It was then he heard the call of the elder Pokémon above, so he swam up to the surface. That was another thing he found easier as the days went by, the ability to swim. It felt as natural as being in the water the first time. Hey, at least he wouldn't drown due to some case now, right?
As he surfaced, he instinctively shook his body like a dog after a bath, then the gecko helped him dry off further. "All right, now that you're all done bathing, ready to head into town?"
"Huh? To town?" Conan/Shinichi was confused. Weren't they done with all the preparations with the chief?
"Yes, town. We're not going to the station but we're gong out on a supply run. Also, I think you'd want to choose your own items for school, right?" Treeko-nii smiled as Conan/Shinichi's face lit up with delight. Finally, he was going to get his long awaited notebook and writing utensils. Did they use pens? Never mind, he could figure that out when he got to the store. Now he would have his own place to sort out his jumbled memories, information, and those odd moments where images seem to flash by. Those had happened more, he knew there was something he was seeing, but couldn't remember what it was. To make things better, no one but he would be able to read his notebook since it would be written in a language that was clearly different from this world's writing system. Privacy and security.
"Unn! Let's get going then!" His childish voice betrayed him as he attempted to hide the glee of shopping. Treeko internally giggled at his childishness, glad to see him act more his age. So Treeko and Little Pip were off to town.
━ • Time Skip • ━
It'd been several hours since he and Little Pip got to town. In that time, they rented a large cart and completed shopping as well as grabbed some lunch at a small café. The boy was patient at first, but eventually succumbed to the ways of a fidgety child. He wasn't pestering him or anything, but his actions certainly didn't go unnoticed. The little twitches of Pip's fins and feet were moving about ever so slightly while he was browsing the wares and seeing if there was anything else they could possibly need for home. He found his actions all adorable. Pip was doing his best to be a well behaved boy, but was growing tired of it. Ah, the anticipation of a present you know is there but must wait until the time is right to open it. He'll never forget that feeling, especially when his birthday rolled around. Ah, sweet memories.
They were finally done with their shopping and it was about time to relieve the little one who was eagerly awaiting his chance. "And that's the last of it." Treeko had said as he placed the items in the cart.
"Really? We're done?" Pip's eyes widened and his expression eager.
"Yep, it's now your turn."
"Yes! Notebook here I come!" Pip's flipper punched the air up high.
"Treeko laughed, "I didn't think you'd be this excited for a notebook."
Pip awkwardly froze at that, "It's just… I'll finally be able to write and draw. Yeah, that's it! I can do fun stuff with a notebook!"
Ignoring how weird that statement sounded, he replied, "You know you have to learn your ruins first before you can even write a sentence."
"Eh heh… Right…" Pip smiled awkwardly and turned away.
Well it was a nice, albeit oddish conversation that helped pass the time as they arrived at their destination. Unlike the open booths, this place was enclosed and had a window and a drape instead of a wooden door. It was a small store with a large leaf design decorating the top. In Pokéscript the sign read, "Leavanny's Creations." This was Treeko's go to place whenever he needed help with stitching and fixing his blankets. Again, he felt his hands weren't made for building, let alone crafting. She was a big help since he moved here, helping with his roof weaving, sewing the blanket covers, and much more. Ever since then, he's been a loyal customer.
The two entered the opening to find all kinds of knickknacks and doodads as well as more useful creations all around the store. From blankets to accessories to tapestry artworks to metal badges to notebooks to writing utensils to souvenirs, this place had all kinds of little creative items.
"Treeko sweetie how lovely to see you!"
"It's wonderful to see you too Leavanny, mam."
"Oh Treeko, always so polite! No need for the mam around me."
"Apologies, it's a force of habit from my parents."
"Commendable behavior and teaching on their part, but don't forget, we're friends. Formalities can be dropped."
"Yes mam… I mean Leav."
"Much better." She smiled as Treeko nodded. Then she asked, "So what can I do for you today? Need help with the blankets again?"
"Not this time. I'm actually here to get some school supplies for my little charge."
Leavanny blinked, "Your charge?" That's when she noticed Piplup for the first time, quietly doing his best to be patient as he eyed the notebook section of the store.
"Yes, this is Piplup, Little Pip or Pip for short." Little Pip waved hello and bowed greeting politely to which Leavanny swooned a bit over his cuteness before introducing herself. Shinichi/Conan observed she was quite tall and very leafy like, her figure made him deduce that she was most likely a bug type. She reminded him of a walking stick bug or a walking leaf bug. She was also quite tall which made him fell smaller than ever. Oh how he missed being tall and… well, there's another stray thought to go into the soon to be his notebook. Her arms were quite sharp at the ends, like fine point needles used on a sewing machine. She must use her claws… scythes? Whatever they were, she must have used them to create these items since he saw no evidence of a machine such as a loom or an engraver.
Leavanny looks his way and asks, "So, what are you looking for today Pip sweetie?"
"Well, just a few notebooks, some pencils, and pens. I'm going to be starting school here soon Leavanny-san." He smiled and spoke using his polite childlike voice.
"Ah of course, they're right over there. Pick out as many as you like while I chat with Treeko here."
"Unn, arigato." He bows his head slightly and waddled off to the notebook section. They watched as he went over and picked up each notebook that fascinated him, opening the book and checking the paper inside.
"So Treeko," Leavanny began, "You're a guardian to this boy, huh?"
He awkwardly looked at her, "Yeah, well, it just, sort of happened."
"He's certainly a polite little Pokémon. I bet he'll be the one taking care of you instead."
"Hey!"
"Kidding, I'm kidding Treeko-sweetie." Leavanny laughs sweetly as Treeko murmurs that this is the second time that someone's mentioned this.
"Well, Pip does seem that way though Lev, but he's got a lot to learn before that even has a chance of happening."
Just as Leavanny was about to speak, Pip came up to the duo holding basket full of notebooks, charcoal pencils, and a full quill set, and many different colored inks. Treeko could only stare baffled at the amount that he brought back.
"Do you really need all this, Pip?"
Pip rubbed his flipper on the back of his head and looked down shyly, smiling. "Well, it's a new school and all, and I wasn't sure how many I needed."
Treeko sighed, "This is a little too much, put some of these back and we'll get more if they say you need it."
Leavanny was enjoying how Treeko was handling the situation as the blue bird got disappointed but obeyed. It was adorable. The boy was really eager to take all her wonderful items home with him, so she decided to do something.
"Say Treeko sweetie," Treeko turned to her and hummed. "We actually have a special sale today, if you buy 10 notebooks I add the charcoal, quill pen set and inks for one forth of the original price."
"Wait, really?" Treeko was surprised.
"Yes Treeko sweetie, I always have various sales close to the new school season and all. So I think you can get him all these notebooks he wants."
Treeko looked skeptically, "You're not just doing this for him, are you?
"Maybe? Or maybe not. A secret makes a lady, a lady after all."
"More like you just like to keep me guessing." Treeko folded his arms and slightly smirked.
"Awe, you know me so well!"
"Pip!" Shinichi/Conan didn't respond. He was lost in thought because he had flinched when Leavanny-san had said those words, making him nearly drop his basket. That saying, it felt familiar and also made him slightly nervous. It also didn't sound quite right, but even so, he wasn't sure why he felt a bit scared at that.
"Hey Pip!" He shook his head, "Oh! Umm... Yes Treeko-nii?"
"Pick out 10 of those notebooks and only one of each set. We can't get them all, but we can get that much."
"Haii, Treeko-nii!"
'Get a grip, whatever she said, I can just figure it out later,' he told himself.
About 10 minutes later, they purchased the items and said their goodbyes to Leavanny. As they walked out, Conan/Shinichi walked out gleefully with his supplies in flippers. They weren't anything too fancy, just five notebooks with a different color and the other five were the same color. The five different colored notebooks were dark blue, white, red, yellow, and green while the other five were brown notebooks. Those colors stood out to him for some reason, like they were comfortable, familiar.
Treeko watched as Little Pip had a little spring to his step. 'Pip really must be excited to write and draw,' he thought. He looked up to the sky and saw the sun was far in the west. They finished their shopping, so they could head back and rest for the day. Besides, he saw the excitement in Pip, so why not let him enjoy his new treasures?
As the two walked, they noticed a pink Pokémon with tiny wing-like ligaments sticking out from its back pacing about deep in thought. Treeko recognized the Pokémon as Lady Clefairy, teller of grand tales and legends of old and owner of the ClefairyTale Theatre. He enjoyed going to the performances once in awhile, especially when she would tell the more historical stories. Her tales ranged from the greatest events in history to the wild imaginings of nonexistent worlds, and also the tales of the world of humans, especially humans living together with Pokémon. To many, humans were a wonderful way to share stories with young children and let their imaginations soar, or use them in a scary bedtime story attached with moral lessons they could learn from. The fact is, most Pokémon didn't believe in humans and many more didn't believe in the tales that humans are still around today. Their logic, "If they use to live in the same world, then where are they now?" Some say they're extinct, other say they're in hiding, while legends of old say they're in another world or a who other plane of existence, no longer able to live together with Pokémon. As for him, he could acknowledge that humans probably once lived along side Pokémon, but he didn't really have a stand on it. If you asked him before meeting Pip, he would have taken the historical approach and said, there is some sort of evidence that they were possibly around, but it's not concrete. He'd wait on that proof to see if any humans would appear in the future. Maybe they were out there living and avoiding Pokémon? Who knew for sure? Though now, his charge really made him wonder.
Conan/Shinichi had also seen this pink Pokémon, he thought at first she was some sort of decorative pink star mascot before remembering this was a world of creatures of all shapes and sizes, especially beyond his imagination. He noted her pacing back and forth in a gesture one took when thinking deeply about something. The grimace on her lips told him that there was some problem that was troubling her. Whether it was a small problem or a big problem, he wasn't quite sure. His guardians took the initiative to go up to the pink star Pokémon and talk to her.
"Lady Clefairy? Is the something the matter?"
The Pokémon, now known as Lady Clefairy looked up at Treeko, eyes looking distant, "Oh hello deerling Treeko, how do you do?"
"I'm uh, doing well. But, how about you? Is something the matter?"
She looks up only at Treeko, completely ignoring Conan/Shinichi who just observes their conversation. "You see… as beautiful a day and wonderful a time I have had, tragedy plagues my performance for this evening."
"Oh? What happened?" Pip had asked the question for him.
Clefairy swerves her head in Pip's direction and their eyes met. Pip shifted uncomfortably in her gaze and she looked at the boy with an analyzing gaze. There was a strange look in her eyes they stared at one another, then in a moment, that looked vanished and her eyes returned to a droopy sadness.
"Listen my child, this story is but a simple case of a missing player from my theatre."
Treeko's eyes widened, "A missing player? Shouldn't you report it to the police?"
Clefairy looked back, slightly surprised, before the looked up and realized what he was thinking, "Oh no Treeko, it is not a Pokémon, it's a prop, or rather two that are necessary for the story to be told."
The two boys nearly fell over, oh, storytellers and their dramatic ways. Well maybe not all, but specifically Lady Clefairy. Still, both of them seemed to be curious, so Treeko asked, "Maybe if you tell us what you lost, we could search for it together."
A small smile graced her face, she admired that the two were offering their assistance, so she decided to accept.
"Oh thank you both! Well, to find my precious objects, I must tell you from the beginning what it is I seek ."
Both boys simply nodded and listened to Clefairy's tale of her day. From her tale, they learned several bits of information. First, she loves to experiment with different ways of telling stories, so each week is dedicated to a different type of performances. Last week it was through giant art cards that displayed pictures and she'd change them with each part of the story, the week before it was through the interpretive dance, and the week before that it was through her puppet shows. This week's performance she was holding shadow puppet shows. Her last show, which was held in the morning, told the tale of a timid child who wanted to be an explorer. Nearby the child's home, there was a small cove on the beach, a place that many called the test of bravery. The children would say if you conquered this, then you'd be able to overcome your fears. The child went into the cave and was faced with many trials, floor after floor, defending himself from the Pokémon and solving what felt like an endless maze. Along the way, the child met another Pokémon who was a really like a scaredy Litten. The two Pokémon worked together and they reached the bottom of the cave. It was there, the Pokémon revealed its true from and gave a gift to the young one, a proof of bravery, a water crystal. From that moment on, the young Pokémon was no longer afraid and soon became a great explorer, going across the waters to explore the great unknown.
Though a shortened version of the story she told that morning, she did clarify to the boys that this was a made up story of old passed down here on this island. Now after she was done, she had placed her puppets inside her wooden box that was behind the curtain and left to eat her lunch. When she came back after her break, which was sometime past noon, she noticed the lid on her box was open. Thinking she forgot to close the lid, which was a common bad habit of hers, she went to do so. But upon attempting to, she noticed that the puppets of the young boy and the shadow scenery depicting the outside of the cave were missing. So she had been looking around for them since, thinking it could have been blown away by the wind somehow.
"So you really think it was blown away, Lady Clefairy?" Treeko asked.
"It is but one of many possibilities, for these puppets are quite special. It is crafted from the finest light weight material, and if not careful, could very easily be carried off by the winds, much like a Hoppip."
"I see," he mused.
"Possibly so, yet doubt fills my mind. Though, I only choose to believe the best and hope it was my own fault that my treasured storytelling puppets were simply misplaced."
"We can help you look for it inside, Lady Clefairy." Treeko nodded with a determined look on his face, as well as Pip who agreed.
"Very well, I shall assign this quest to you young ones." Treeko nodded and Pip followed along behind him, feeling that this wouldn't be so simple a case. But somewhere inside, he did hope he was wrong.
Lady Clefairy led them inside her theatre and told them to wait there for a second. She lit the lamps and the place was more visible. Now unlike the more solid buildings or the outdoor booth shops, her's was more like a giant round tent. Its shape was similar to those seen at the circus but lacked the iconic stripes and instead was painted with stars and planets of varying shapes, sizes, and colors. On the inside, the tent was much larger than it seems. The walls of the tent were covered in murals and tapestries of scenes from the stories she tells. Treeko recognized most of the pictures as being scenes from the tales of several legendary explorers who saved the world over the years. There were other scenes with several bipedal beings, which he knew represented the humans and those tales about their deeds. Conan/Shinichi definitely knew that these silhouettes were indeed humans, pretty accurate depictions for being shadows or abstract paintings. He was especially drawn to one scene with a human wearing what looked like a cap and a yellow mouse like Pokémon with a lightning bolt tail was beside him. The two were working together to stop several menacing looking Pokémon and people, which he guessed were the antagonist of the story or stories, since there were lines separating the different ones. The room itself was surpassingly bare and the grassy floor was sloped downwards until it was leveled off at the stage. There were no benches or chairs, but off to the side were baskets of quilts and blankets. He guessed seating wasn't necessary since there were Pokémon of varying sizes, so they probably would have broken a chair if they sat. His eyes traced back up to the stage and noted it was a golden brown, semicircular stage with the flat end facing the audience. Two white curtains were drawn back revealing an assortment of props scattered about on the stage. Clefairy explained she pulled back both the shadow puppet screen as well as the back stage curtain while checking if the puppet had somehow got caught in between or underneath, which it wasn't.
"I must apologize for this mess, I did not expect I would invite anyone to assist me in this endeavor to to search for my missing player."
"You don't have to apologize, Lady Clefairy. We offered to help and we'll do our best to find it." Treeko looked at her determined as Pip simply nodded in agreement.
"You are too kind, deerling Treeko, as well as the Young Piplup with you. Such a gentlemonly gesture of you both." The both smiled at Clefairy then began their search.
As the trio searched, Conan/Shinichi took his time and looked around. He first started with the box. It was a long wooden crate with a clasp each on the short ends, the back had hinges and the front of the box had nothing special. Upon closer inspection of the front, he noted that there were some light scratch marks on the front, signs that someone attempted to force this open. Lady Clefairy-san wouldn't have done that, since she knew that the clasps needed to be undone first. It was also then he noticed deeper scratch marks on the stage, they looked like claw marks which dragged in the opposite direction off the stage. When he went to look at them further, he noted the smell of apples and berries coming from them as well as how sticky it felt in the area. How odd. He followed the scratch marks and noticed that the grass was also slightly grazed in that direction. A couple of other marks and a few shreds of grass blades flowed in that same direction up to the door. Also, a few bits of hair or fur that was pink seemed to also be among the blades of grass leading in the direction of the exit. It was looking like someone had come into Lady Clefairy-san's tent and really took the items. But why? He needed a little more information.
"Ne ne, Lady Clefairy-san?"
"Yes, young Piplup?"
"If someone took your puppets, could you think of a reason why they would take it?"
"Why, no. Unless they took it because it was intricately detailed and colored, I cannot think of any reason."
"Colored?"
"Oh yes, despite them being shadow puppets, I take care to create them and give them all the details I possibly can."
"I see." Pip looked thoughtful.
Treeko had then thought about something, "Lady Clefairy, is today the first time you told your tale?"
"Yes, this was, the audience was rather small this morning, though that is what I normally expect. Many tourist and residents prefer the ambiance of the evening as a time to enjoy my stories."
"Do you remember who was in the audience?"
"Oh yes, a couple of tourist and a few familiar faces. Mostly the usual children who love my stories so much." Pip was curious who she meant while Treeko seemed to have an idea.
"Oh, you mean those three? Muchlax, Skitty, and Pikachu?"
"Among several other children, both residents and tourists. The other children were with their parents or siblings. From what I saw, it was just those three alone. You know them, always love an adventure." Conan/Shinichi held onto that line of thought, a group of children who were rambunctious and ready for an adventure. Thinking about the little clues he found, he had to ask, "Do any of them have claws or pink fur or nails? Also were any of them eating apples and berries?"
"Skitty is pink as the flowers of the island meadow and Munchlax has claws on his feet as hard as rock. Both Pikachu and Munchlax have strong nails on their hands I believe. Oh and yes, those three did eat some berries and apple slices while watching my performance. Food is welcomed to be eaten here, so long as everyone cleans their mess. Though, why is this important?"
"I noticed your box had several scratch marks, they looked quite recent too. They are also slightly present on the side clasps if you look closely." Clefairy blinked, she turned to her box and did notice that these scratches were present. She was always careful with her equipment, so she would have remembered if she had accidentally scratched it herself.
Shinichi/Conan continued, "There's also the deeper scratch marks on the stage. From what I can guess, they were from the feet of whoever they belonged to who had tripped and fell as they tried to leave. It was also sticky, so the faint smell of berries and apple came from it. Probably, some of the food was dropped and the pers…. I mean… Pokémon cleaned it up before they left."
Clefairy looked at the young Piplup again, a strange look in her eyes as she gazed at him. That look quickly disappeared and her lips slanted, "It does sound like them. But I am still unsure why they would take my deerling puppets from their home."
Treeko had been thinking since Pip brought up those bits of evidence that were left behind. It was apparent that the group took the items, but why? He thought back to the story and what Lady Clefairy had said. This story was just made up as far as she knew, a story that is told here commonly on the island. Perhaps…
Conan/Shinichi was also thinking, until he noticed the look in Treeko's eyes. The gears were turning in his head, but something wasn't quite clicking. He thought he had the answer too, but decided to confirm something, "Ne ne, Lady Clefairy-san."
"Oh? Another question young Piplup?"
"The story about the young child and the cave, is it only really made up?" He asked in a sweet childish voice adding a hint of sadness.
"Aww deerling boy, I wish I could say it was true. I only learned of this story recently through the residents and thought it was a perfect one to tell. It is part of the folklore here on the island, a tale passed by word of mouth from Pokémon to Pokémon."
Treeko's eyes widened, his face filled with realization. "Lady Clefairy, it could be wrong, but maybe, the children believed your tale?"
Clefairy looked at Treeko, then she thought about it for a little. "That just may be, when I tell my stories, I tend to make sure to tell them if it's true or legend at the beginning. Perhaps the children didn't pay attention and believed it to be so. But it still does not set my mind at ease. Why did they decide to go and take it?"
"We don't have enough info to know what they were thinking, but something in you story reminded me."
"Reminded you of what, Treeko-nii?"
"Over on the other side of the island, a place off limits to tourist, there's this secret beach with a small cove. It's normally left alone, a few rescuers ever go there, but overall it's known for its twisty mazes. I've passed this cove several times on my walks around the island, but never went in. Maybe the children knew of this and decided to see if they could visit the place and see if its real."
"Oh no! If this story really was true, then they're in more danger than failing the test of courage!" Clefairy covered her mouth in shock.
Both boys looked at her, not sure what she meant, "More danger?"
"Yes yes, you see, there is a separate tale that is told about this same cove. The powerful Pokémon who rests deep within, whoever disturbs it, they must be ready to face it in all it's power. For if the Pokémon does not find you worthy of courage, it will trap you in its depths until another comes and proves their worth. This means, if the children are not able to successfully win the battle, they will remain trapped there!"
Treeko and Pip looked shocked at the news, they couldn't let those children be trapped. Even if was just a legend, and there was no Pokémon to meet, they needed to be saved from that great labyrinth of a cove.
"Deerling Treeko, young Piplup, please there is no time. You must go and rescue them! I will go to the authorities, but time is of the essence. Go ahead and save them." Clefairy runs to the stage and grabs a small bag and hands it to the both of them. "Here, take my old bag, I have several oran berries and a couple of other items in there. They will aid you on this quest to save them. I'll keep your shopping cart safe for when you come back, now please, hurry!"
Treeko took the bag and the two wasted no time. Both boys ran, Pip following behind since Treeko seemed to know the way.
━ • Time Skip • ━
They had arrived at the secret beach. It was really hidden and out of the way, hard to spot if you were simply just passing by. But Treeko-nii said he had found this place while on his walks. How?
"How did you really find this place, Treeko-nii? It's so hidden, I don't even think I would have noticed it."
Treeko-nii stopped running for a bit and Conan/Shinichi bumped into him, rubbing his head. He looked up at the gecko who was looking embarrassed. "Well… the truth is, I found this place accidentally." He pointed to a higher part of the forest they had come from and moved his finger down. "I came from up there and happened to trip, I landed right there. When I got up, that's when I saw this small cove. When I went to Oranguru's Place and complained about my bad day, Steenee had told me that this place was off limits and everyone just naturally avoided that place. But the few Pokémon that go in there are those rescuers who save trespassers stuck in the labyrinth. Other than that, no one actually goes inside or explores all the way through."
Conan/Shinichi nodded, "I see."
"Yes, well, here we are." The cove's entrance was quite small, it seemed to only allow those who were at least more than a meter tall, or about 4 feet. It was just about right for both he and Treeko-nii. Nearby the entrance, there were several footprints. One was long and slim, the other was round and had three claw marks, and the other was a three padded paw print.
"I guess this confirms that these children went into the cave." Conan/Shinichi agreed with Treeko-nii.
'Well, it's time to go rescue those rascals again… again?' He never met them but he thinks again. He sighs, 'Not now, save that for the notebook.'
The two enter the cove and see the tunnel it houses, so they go inside together. While walking, something strange happened. The walls of the tunnel seemed to move and tilt downward. It started tilting even more until they were sliding completely into new spot, a cavern. Treeko-nii's eyes widened, quietly repeating no over and over.
"What's wrong Treeko-nii?"
He turned slowly to Pip, eye twitching a little, with a smile like someone in denial. "We're… we're… this place…"
"What's wrong!?"
Treeko kept murmuring, "…it turned into…"
"Oi oi! Spit it out already!"
"We're… in a… Mystery Dungeon…"
"A what?"

Now originally, I was suppose to create my first original case. That was before I realized that my cases weren't the best. So I decided to minimize the case and opt for the official introduction of the Mystery dungeon. It was actual suppose to be longer, but I'll save the mystery dungeon rescue for another chapter.
So let's go over a couple of things:
Leavanny is just a Pokémon I wanted to write because I just wanted a way for Pip to appreciate his notebook. She'll probably be a reoccurring character since Treeko also comes here for his handiwork needs. I wonder if an actual Treeko could be delicate and make some art? If he were a Grovyle, he most likely could. But I don't plan for any evolving for the main characters, just like most PMD stories.
Now for Lady Clefairy, she's kind of old and new at the same time. Originally, I wanted a Clefairy in this story, but originally she was going to be a completely different character. Then, I thought of "Fairytales" and decided to combine her name as "ClefairyTales" for the theatre. That's why on these islands, they say stories are Clefairytales instead of just Fairytales.
Treeko is getting use to being a bit of an older brother and for some reason, Conan/Shinichi... I mean Little Pip who is falling into that childishness quite well. His mature parts only surfacing when the situation calls for it.
Now for Pip, he's getting more flashes and actually remembering he has these moments. He doesn't know what he's seeing though. He just deduced it has to be he's remembering and forgetting the missing memories rapidly. That notebook is so close and yet so far. Next chapter he's going to be officially experiencing the Mystery Dungeon World! Look forward to that one.
Sooo, that's all... do I need to explain anything else?
Note: Oh, to anyone who also reads on the A03 site, I added something extra to the part 10's section. So be sure to check it out whenever you get a chance. Same name and story name.
