A/N: Thanks for staying with me! More notes at the end...

11 ½ years ago…

"Mama! Mama!" Six year old Kaylee ran as fast as her legs could carry her to her mother, who'd just walked into the house. "You're home!"

"Kaylee!" her father admonished her. "You are supposed to be sleeping! I put you and your brother in bed an hour ago!" Kaylee didn't care though, she was too excited to tell her mama her big news!

"It's ok, Kappei." Kaylee gave her mama a huge hug, nearly knocking her over in excitement. "I heard you had a big day today!"

"I got my quirk today! It happened at school when I was holding a pencil! My hand felt weird, like it got hot and then suddenly it disappeared!" Kaylee held out her hands for her mother to see. "Then, my other hand stung really bad and started bleeding!" She pointed to the pink heart bandage that was stuck to the palm of her hand. "Then, guess what? A gemstone came out! Just like Daddy can do!"

"That's amazing, sweetheart!" Kristen smiled down at her daughter. "It's way past your bedtime though. Let's get you tucked back into bed and you can tell me more about it during breakfast, ok?" Kaylee thought her mama's smile was a little tired as she was carried upstairs. She stifled a yawn behind her hand. She was so excited to tell mama the big news!

"I want to glow like you do, mama," Kaylee sighed as the covers were pulled up. "I like how you shine!" Her mama had a very soft glow about her that sometimes grew brighter when she was around her family. Kaylee knew her mama had a quirk, but she never talked about it and always changed the subject when asked.

"Maybe you will, baby." Kristen gave her a kiss and quietly closed the door.

Sometime later, Kaylee paused on the stairwell as she heard her parents talking. She had gotten up to go to the bathroom. She peeked around the corner and could see her mama's glowing form snuggled next to her daddy, who had his arms wrapped around her.

"Rough day?" Kappei asked his wife.

"You have no idea," she sighed. "My turn as Presiding Security Council President is next month." Kristen laid her head on her husband's chest. "I've requested extra security around the house and at school for you and the children."

"Why? You've never had to do that before."

"I just…with Kaylee's quirk manifesting, and with all the stuff going on in the world right now, I just would feel better knowing you all had some extra protection." She heaved a heavy sigh.

"Does this have anything to do with the political situation in a certain part of the world right now?"

"Something like that," she confirmed. "Negotiations are breaking down. I've spent the last three days on calls with the President, the Vice President, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of Defense."

"But you've got clearance to use your quirk, right?'

Kristen shook her head. "No. The President wants to wait. He feels like the issue isn't serious enough and wants to wait and see." She hiccupped as tears ran down her face. "I thought I could use my quirk to make a difference in this world…." her voice trailed off, and she coughed. Kaylee frowned. She didn't like seeing her mama be sad.

Kappei kissed the top of Kristen's head. "I made a large donation to Kaylee's school today, along with matching donations to her teacher and classmates. " He sighed. "Along with invites to the next Met Gala for those wannabe musicians and influencers the kids have for parents."

"Hopefully that will keep them quiet," Kristen said softly. "Because of what happened to me and my family, I'm sure they'll already know Kaylee's quirk manifested by now," Kristen continued.

Kaylee frowned at that. What was mama talking about?

Suddenly, Kaylee found herself right in front of the sofa, her mother's eyes staring straight into hers.

"Do you hear me, Kaylee? Don't let them take you! Fight them! Fight them, Kaylee! Kaylee!"

"Kaylee? Kaylee, open up!"

Kaylee shot up in bed, heart pounding, sweat pouring off her.

"Kaylee?" Ochako's knocking became more insistent. "Kaylee, are you ok?"

"I'm ok!" she squeaked, throwing the covers off and dashing to the door. Ochako stood, clad in a green oversized shirt that said "Sleep Shirt" on it.

"Are you hurt? Do you want me to get Recovery Girl?" Ochako softly asked as Kaylee tried to catch her breath. She felt sick, her arms were shaking and she wasn't sure why. She'd had nightmares since arriving at UA, but most of it had to do with her captivity and none of them had left her as shaken and disturbed as Kaylee now felt.

Ochako padded through the doorway to Kaylee's small fridge, taking out a bottle of water and opening it, handing it to Kaylee.

"Thank you," Kaylee took a long sip, the cool liquid soothing her throat. "I'm sorry I woke you. I'm ok, just had a nightmare."

"No, it's fine–I wasn't really asleep anyway. I was reading a book that Mina gave to me earlier. You sounded like you were in some serious pain. Do you want to talk about it?"

Kaylee shook her head. "I don't remember much about it," she said, not exactly meeting Ochako's concerned gaze. She didn't want to outright lie, but had no choice. "I'm ok now. Thank you for checking on me." Kaylee gave her a tired smile.

"You sure?" At Kaylee's nod, Ochako wished her a good night and left.

Kaylee slowly sat back down on her bed, her hands still trembling as she folded Katsuki's All Might blanket around her, the fluffy fabric doing little to calm her nerves. The images were starting to fade, but Kaylee tried to focus on the details, knowing they were somehow important.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!"

Kaylee winced at the shout from her face-down position, her body aching from the impact of her fall. Rivulets of sweat poured off her and she watched numbly as they splashed down on the polished wood floor of the gym. True to Katsuki's word, he'd been waiting for her at 5am sharp with a hot breakfast ready to go. She'd barely slept a wink after the dream and was completely drained and exhausted, but didn't want to disappoint him. She pushed herself up off the floor, just barely able to keep the pained whimper as her muscles protested the movement as she turned to face Katsuki.

She could almost envision the red aura of rage rising off of him as he seethed down at her, his beautiful face twisted in an angry scowl. She had to fight the urge to take a step back, but managed to lock her muscles to keep them from trembling.

"Goddamn it Kaylee, you're not fucking paying attention! I could have fucking broken your fucking arm. Now you can either tell me what the fuck is going on with you or we can fucking call this off because I can't fucking train you when you're not going to pay any fucking attention to me. It's fucking disrespectful!" He ripped off his gym jacket, throwing it on the floor in anger. Sweat coated his muscles. Oh, he was beyond furious, Kaylee knew from the amount of "fucks" he managed to use.

"It's stupid," she said, her eyes focusing on a bead of sweat as it charted a course down the side of his neck.

"No, what's stupid is that move you just did!" Bakugou snarled. "You tried a roundhouse kick then changed your mind in mid-air! You weren't even watching my moves and I could have fucking snapped your arm off before either of us realized it! You wanted me to take you more seriously, not pull any punches with you, but there's no way in hell I'm doing that if you aren't going to take me seriously! I deserve the same I'm giving to you!"

Kaylee cringed, this time unable to keep herself from taking a step back. "You're right. I'm sorry. I had a bad night. I didn't want to–"

"-disappoint me? I thought we had gotten past all that. I thought you trusted me enough by now to tell me–"

"I DO!" Kaylee snapped back. "I TRUST YOU MORE THAN I'VE TRUSTED ANYONE IN MY LIFE!"

"THEN FUCKING ACT LIKE IT! TELL ME WHEN YOU'RE TIRED! FUCKING TALK TO ME!" Katsuki roared.

"I DREAMED ABOUT MY PARENTS, OK?" Kaylee roared back, surprising both of them. She felt the hot rush of tears stream down her face and she didn't even bother to hide her trembling. Suddenly, she was pressed up against Katsuki, her face pressed against his shoulder as great heaving sobs left her. His warm, calloused hands caressed her back.

It must have been a good half-hour that he held her while she sobbed her heart out. She let out a strangled hiccup, peeling her face from his shoulder, the fabric of his tank sticking to her face slightly. His hands moved from their place on her waist to cup her cheeks, thumbs gently wiping the last of her tears. She sniffled, the sound echoing. She blinked, noticing for the first time that she was now sitting across his lap–he'd picked her up without her realizing it and moved to one of the nearby benches.

"Better now?" He tenderly asked. She hiccupped again, nodding. She felt so raw, so exposed right now, and she didn't know what to do.

"Look," he began, touching their foreheads together. "I'm sorry I blew up at you. I know I told you a long time ago that I would be patient and wait for when you were ready to talk. It just–it makes me crazy when I feel like you're holding back from me–like you don't trust me–and I thought I'd earned your trust by now. I know I'm probably asking too much from you…" his voice trailed off. "I know it can't be easy for you. Screaming at you like an asshole doesn't help."

"I'm just not used to trusting someone," Kaylee replied, her voice even hoarser than usual. "I'm just scared if I say something or do something you don't like, you'll leave me." She felt a hot rush of tears sting her eyes and Kaylee pulled back to look at Katsuki. "I've been alone for so long, I just don't know how to act with someone."

"I know," Katsuki replied, kissing her gently on the nose, each cheek, then finally landing a sweet kiss on her lips. "But you don't have to be anymore."

"I'm sorry I shouted at you too," she said, returning the kiss for all she was worth. "I don't know how relationships should work."

"Like I do?" he scoffed. "I know that we need to be on equal ground though. It hurts when you think I can't handle something. Like I'm a fucking weakling."

"I don't mean it that way," Kaylee told him. "It's like there are times where I'm scared this is all going to be some wonderful dream and I'll wake back up in that warehouse with the rats and roaches–I'm just scared I'll do something wrong and this will all disappear. " She hiccupped again as her voice caught. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me…" Her words were lost against his lips as he kissed her again.

"Thank you," he whispered. "I needed to hear that."

"Seriously? You didn't know that?" Kaylee was genuinely astonished that her feelings about Katsuki weren't painfully obvious.

His cheeks turned a little pink. "I–I–sometimes, I–I just like to hear you say you're just as crazy about me as I am you, ok? " He sighed, his hands going through her hair, making her shiver.

Kaylee twisted to face him, placing her hands on either side of his cheeks, making sure she had his full attention. She stared straight into his eyes, those beautiful red eyes of his. "Katsuki Bakugou," she said slowly, making sure he understood every word. "I am absolutely fucking crazy about you." He smiled, that dimple appearing as she said the same words he spoke to her just a few days ago. "I was always fascinated with you from the first day I saw you. You got that?" He nodded. She pulled him to her, her hands finding purchase in that soft spiky hair that defied gravity and kissed him until they were both gasping for breath.

"Just promise me from now on, you'll talk to me–tell me what's bothering you. No matter what it is, or how insignificant you think it might be, ok?"

Kaylee laid her head back down on his shoulder and then told him about her dream, everything she could remember. He listened intently, stroking her hair, his hand rubbing idle circles on her lower back.

"Your dream kinda matches what we already knew–your mom was the U.S Ambassador with the United Nations. I read about it–it's a United States cabinet position, nominated by the president and confirmed by congress. They are a permanent member on the U.N Security Council."

Kaylee swallowed. "She also had full diplomatic immunity. But she had to have clearance to use her quirk. She said the president didn't want her to use it just yet."

"She said something about her family–do you remember your grandparents?"

"No."

"Fuck," Katsuki said, his face going pale. "And I couldn't find any mention of any sort of grandparents, aunts, uncles–your dad was Japanese, surely he'd have someone over here right?" His eyes widened. "Fuck, I didn't think about this before, but as high profile case as that had to have been–it seems like someone relative would have searched for you. It's almost like–someone didn't want you found."

"And I heard it straight from the CIA and FBI agents that they were actively monitoring the dark web for any mention of me. They could also have removed any mention of me as well."

"Do you think "they" are the feds your mom mentioned?" Katsuki asked.

Kaylee went cold. "I don't know." Silence fell between them for moments.

"And all you remember of her quirk is that she glowed, like you do?"

She nodded. "I don't know what it does–I just remember her glowing, and like me, it seemed to be emotion based."

"You glow when you're happy."

"Yep."

He lifted up their joined hands, turning hers over and caressing the rough scar tissue on her palm. He pressed a kiss to the area, then his brow furrowed as he watched her skin glow brighter from the contact.

"You glow when you're happy." Kaylee cocked her head at Katsuki, who groaned and closed his eyes. "You glow when you're happy, and you glow the brightest when you're around me." He sighed. "I'm such an idiot."

Kaylee giggled. "I mean, I wouldn't exactly say it like that, but yeah–" He pinched her side and she squirmed, laughing. "Go on, finish that thought."

"Fuck." He sighed. "I make you happy."

"No. You make me the happiest."

He kissed her again, pulling her closer to him. "Come on, we'll figure the rest of this shit out later,ok? We've got to get back and get ready for class."

In the cold windy morning, Kaylee walked back to Alliance Heights, feeling much lighter after their talk. Katsuki's arm was wrapped around her waist, using some of his quirk to keep her warm.

"Feel better now?" He asked.

"Yep. Thank you."

"Anything else weighing on your mind? I'll listen."

Kaylee bit her lip, thinking. "Um, well your mom has been talking to me off and on since summer break. Your dad too sometimes, but mostly it's your mom."

Katsuki paused, his mouth open in utter shock. "Wait, what?"

"Oh yeah, your mom thought at first I was a bubble-butt Botoxed Kardashian, and I had to look that up because I didn't know what that was, but I think I've convinced her otherwise." She dashed up the steps to the dorms, relieved to be out of the cold air. "Come on, we're going to be late to class!"

"Wait, Kaylee! Get your ass back here!"

Kaylee laughed as she pulled a stunned Katsuki inside. "We'll talk after classes today, I swear!"

….

"You are so damned stubborn, Kacchan!" Deku threw his hands up in frustration. Bakugou glared at the curly green-haired shit from his seat next to him.

"He's right you know," Sero chimed in from across the table. "You should just really give in so you two can move on with the project! You're already behind the rest of us."

Bakugou fumed. "Why do I always have to be the one to give in? In three years, why can't Deku be the one to give in on this?"

"That's a fair point," Iida pointed at Deku. "You can be just as stubborn, Midoriya."

"HA!" Bakugou grinned, even though he was still pissed off. The last class of the day, Hero Agency Basics 101, had a group assignment and of course Bakugou managed to get paired up with Deku. The assignment was to create a Hero Agency, including the agency name, hiring sidekicks, managing paperwork, and all the other junk that goes along with starting up a hero agency.

"Look," Deku began again in that calming voice that never failed to get Bakugou's hackles up. "We've only got a small budget of 5 million yen and putting 'Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight' on everything, including signs and billboards would take up all of that! We wouldn't have anything left to pay for an office to rent, or employees, or anything!"

Bakugou let out a long suffering sigh. "Fine, damn it. We can shorten it to Dynamight."

"Thank you!" Deku began writing notes on their proposal. "Now, we've got the Deku and Dynamight Hero Agency…"

"The fuck are you talking about, nerd?

"You just agreed to shorten it to 'Dynamight,' Kacchan…"

"I know that, Deku, but I did not agree to second fucking billing!" Bakugou snapped, slapping his hand on the table. Pens, pencils and papers jumped with the force.

"It sounds better!"

"It does not!"

"In the Western alphabet, Deku comes before Dynamight."

"Who the fuck cares?! It's Dynamight and Deku."

"Oh dear God, they're back at it," Kaminari muttered from his seat behind them.

"The Deku Hero Agency with Dynamight." Deku smirked.

"The Dynamight Hero Agency minus Deku." Bakugou snarled back.

"Dynamight, notwithstanding Deku."

"Deku, nevertheless Dynamight."

"The Deku Hero Agency, in spite of Dynamight!" Deku stood up.

"The Deku Hero Agency featuring the world's number one hero, Dynamight!" Bakugou followed suit.

Both Deku and Bakugou glared at each other, and Bakugou could have sworn Deku was starting to glow green, a sure sign the little asshole was losing his temper. Bakugou had his palms ready, the smell of nitroglycerine starting to permeate the air.

"Both of you," Uraraka called out, startling the pair of them. "This is enough!"

Jiro pinched the skin between her eyebrows. "Seriously, you guys, you've got to decide on something!"

"I have to admit, the Deku and Dynamight Hero Agency sounds better," Koda said.

"No way, dude!" Mineta piped up. "Dynamight and Deku is better."

"How about the "The Symbol of Peace, All Might, introduces the Deku and Dynamight Hero Agency?"

Pretty soon the entire class was in uproar, each one arguing their preference. "Everyone quiet!" Yaoyoruzu shouted, standing up to get everyone's attention. Bakugou sat back in his chair, crossing his arms and gave Deku a telling look, as if it was his fault, which it was.

"How about this?" Hagakure said. "Let's ask someone impartial! Someone not in our class."

"Yeah! That's a great idea," Kaminari joined in.

"Who could we ask?" Uraraka wondered.

"Oh, how about Kaylee!" Empty gloves waved around in excitement.

Bakugou nodded, looking at Deku. "Yeah. I'm good with that."

"Kaylee?" Deku scoffed. "Why her?"

"Duh, she's not in the hero course," Kaminari rolled his eyes at Deku.

"And that is what's going to make her impartial?" Uraraka asked, raising a brow.

"Well, yeah."

"Impartial? Kaylee?" Deku asked again. Bakugou growled, getting his quirk ready to pop.

"What do you have against Kaylee, Midoriya?" Mineta asked.

"I don't have anything against Kaylee!" The entire class was now staring at Deku, who was getting all defensive and flustered. "I think she's great, but…"

"She's super smart!" Koda defended her.

"And nice!" Aoyama added.

"She's a great cook!"

"Hell, she puts up with Bakugou and he's much less of a dick when she's around."

"He's still a dick though." Bakugou tried to identify the fuckers who made those last two comments, but couldn't over all the other noise.

"I think he's mad that she knew stuff about All Might that he didn't," stated Tokoyama.

Bakugou was proud that so many of their classmates were sticking up for Kaylee, and wished she was there to see it. He glanced at the time–she was just about to finish up her therapy session. Since their training session that ended up turning into a confession/makeout session, he'd not been able to see much of her throughout the day, as he and Deku had to meet with All Might, and after lunch it was their hero courses.

"Guys, I think Kaylee is awesome!" Deku nearly shouted, waving his arms in the air for attention. "I'm just doubting her ability to be impartial!"

"Why, Deku?" Asui asked curiously.

Deku let out a weary sigh, the air stirring the green curls on his forehead. "Just for clarification, we are talking about Kaylee–the same Kaylee who has spent nearly all of her free time since she got here with him?" Deku pointed at Bakugou.

"Not nearly enough time," Bakugou muttered.

"The very same Kaylee who has a Spotitfy playlist containing over 4 hours of music with the word "Dynamite" in the songs?" Deku asked.

Bakugou chuckled. "Oh yeah, I forgot about that. You know," he said to the room at large, "I don't mind BTS so much now."

"And all of you think she's capable of being impartial when Kacchan is involved?"

"Yes!" Several students spoke up.

"Fuck yes!" Bakugou growled, cracking his knuckles.

"I mean, Kaylee is pretty smart, Deku. Let's give her a chance?" Uraraka asked tentatively.

Deku plopped his head on the table, jostling pens and papers again. "Someone call her then."

"I'm on it!" Bakugou already was pressing her number when Deku stopped him with blackwhip, jerking his phone from his hand and catching it.

"What the fuck is your problem now, dumbass?"

"No! You–" Deku pointed with the other finger. "-you'll use that–that– voice on her!"

Bakugou blinked. "Jiro! Tell him–" Deku gestured over to Jiro and Kaminari, who were both open laughing now along with the rest of the class. "Tell him about that voice thing he does!"

Bakugou had the slight worry that Deku might have gone insane. Jiro and Kaminari were nearly crying with laughter. "What the fuck are you all laughing at now?"

"He's right–" Jiro panted, still chuckling. "Your voice gets deeper when you're talking to Kaylee."

"It does not!"

"Yeah, it does," several more of their classmates chimed in.

"Like an entire octave deeper," Shoji nodded sagely.

"You are all insane! Gimme that!" Bakugou reached over and snatched his phone back, pressing Kaylee's picture to call. She was out of therapy now, and should have her afternoon free.

"Hey Kaylee–" he began, pacing in front of the table, ignoring all the snickering comments and chuckles from the shitty extras. "Where are you at? Can you help me out with something? We're in the common room."

"See? He did it!" Someone called out.

"Hey Kaylee," Sero mocked, his voice going exaggeratedly deep.

"Kaylee–" Kirishima joined in, also in a deep voice.

"Hi Kaylee!" Tokoyama even joined in, although he didn't need to do much to get his tone deeper.

"How you doin', Kaylee?" Bakugou walked past Kaminari and smashed his head into the table. "Shit, that hurts!"

Not three minutes later she came in and fuck if he didn't feel his heart speed up, especially as the moment she saw him, her glow got brighter–then flickered and dimmed down as she realized they had a stupid audience. Bakugou couldn't believe how dense he was. Kaylee glowed when she was happy. She glowed the brightest when she was around him. Therefore, Bakugou made her happy. Fuck, how could he miss that? He gave her a big smile and tried to tell her with his eyes how much he cared about her, and from the way she stumbled slightly, flushing from her neck upwards, it must have worked. He held out his hand for her to take.

"Hey," she said brightly. "I was just about to go play with Eri some–she got out classes early today and Mr. Aizawa is working with Shinso in Class 3-B." She looked around as the entire class was staring at them both, stupid grins on each of their faces. "What's going on?" She took his hand and let him lead her to where he was sitting at the table. He grabbed a chair from another table for her to sit in."

"We need you to help us out with something–" Bakugou began as she got settled, only to be interrupted by the nerd.

"Wait! No, no, no, no, no! You don't get explain it to her–" Deku gestured to Kaylee.

"Why the fuck not?"

"You'll use that sexy voice thing on her again!"

Bakugou rolled his eyes. "I didn't realize you thought my voice was sexy, Deku!" Deku slammed his face on the table while several giggled, including Cheeks.

"Oh God, yes!" Everyone turned to look at Hagakure, who squeaked. "Shit, I didn't mean to say that out loud!"

Kaylee's eyes narrowed in Hagakure's direction. "What in the name of All Might is going on here? You're all acting weird! Do I need to call Recovery Girl?"

"No, this is actually pretty normal for us if you think about it," Bakugou told her, scooting his chair closer to her. "Look, the shitty nerd and I need you to decide–"

"No! See, he's doing it again!" Deku pounded the table, making their textbooks jump. "Kaylee, I think you're amazing, but I do not think you can be impartial!"

"Oh for heaven's sake," Tsu startled all of them with her exclamation. "We could have been done with this ages ago! Iida–explain to Kaylee what the problem is. Does anyone object to Iida's voice?"

Everyone looked to Deku, who suddenly flushed bright red and rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry, and no. Iida's fine."

Iida stood up. "Good to know my voice isn't sexy, thanks everyone. Kaylee, if you were going to call a hero agency, which one would you prefer: The Dynamight and Deku Agency or the Deku and Dynamight Agency?"

"It's Great Explosion Murder God–" Kaylee shot up in her seat. Groans could be heard in the background.

Bakugou held up his hand to interrupt her. "No, it's ok–I've shortened it for the time being."

Kaylee sat back. "Oh. Well, then I'd call the Deku and Dynamight Agency."

"See, you shitty nerd! She likes–WAIT, WHAT?" Bakugou's head snapped around so fast to look at Kaylee in shock.

"Oh wow, I did not see that one coming," said Sero.

"Guess she can be impartial!" Saito chuckled.

Bakugou was crushed. "You'd give me second billing?"

"What? No, it's not second billing!" Kaylee explained. "Everyone knows you always put the word with the most impact last. You know, like Jay-Z AND Beyonce. Wine AND Chocolate. Peanut Butter AND Jelly. " She beamed at him. "So, it's Deku AND Dynamight."

The entire common area grew deadly silent. Kaylee sat up straighter in her seat, like she was ready to do battle and looked around at everyone, daring them to challenge her.

"Wait a minute here," Cheeks interjected. "There's no way in hell that jelly is better than peanut butter!"

"What? Jelly is way better than peanut butter! It comes in all different flavors, strawberry, grape, lychee, cherry blossom, plum, raspberry–" Kaylee began listing all the flavors of jelly available.

"But it's peanut butter! It's great in everything! Everyone LOVES peanut butter!" Cheeks crossed her arms and glared at Kaylee, who glared right back. Bakugou swore the temperature in the room dropped a few degrees and he checked to see if Icy-Hot was doing anything–but no, the clueless bastard looked like he was trying to keep from smiling as he sat next to his girlfriend.

"Not if you are in the 10% of the population with a peanut allergy! Then, it's death! Face it, Ochako, peanut butter kills!"

Bakugou exchanged a confused look with Deku, not sure what was going on but was a little too nervous to interrupt. He caught Kirishima's eye, who also looked just a little bit concerned while Pinky next to him wasn't even bothering to hide her laughter.

"Well, I'm not allergic! I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER!"

"And I LOVE JELLY!"

"Well, jelly is nothing without peanut butter! It's just a side-kick that bullies peanut butter!"

"How dare you!"

"I get the feeling they're not talking about just peanut butter and jelly," Ojiro muttered out loud while the two girls stared daggers at each other.

"Ladies, please!" Mineta jumped on the table between the two. "I know of a way this can be settled without shouting–let's get a big jar of each and you both can wrestle–OOF!" Bakugou popped his quirk and blasted the little pervert into the glass doors.

"Ok, so are we decided then?" Iida asked. "Deku and Dynamight Agency?"

Bakugou blinked. "Yeah, I'm good with that."

"Great!" Iida clapped his hands. "And despite how some of us might feel about peanut butter and jelly," he looked between Kaylee and Cheeks, who both blushed and looked away. "I think the whole class can agree that Beyonce is way better than Jay-Z, right?"

"OMG, totally!" Kirishima said.

"Queen Bey all the way!" Kaminari high-fived Jiro.

"Jay-Z is a cheating prick!"

"Ladies, we good here?" Both Cheeks and Kaylee were still staring at each other, although the animosity had waned from their expressions.

"Look," Kaylee said remorsefully. "I may have exaggerated that 10% of the population has a peanut allergy. I'd have to look it up. And with the availability of anaphylactic shock treatments, most of them wouldn't die either."

"Yeah," Cheeks sighed. "I don't really think that jelly is a bullying side-kick either. Jelly goes with a lot of things, like scones, and cookies. My grandmother makes the best cookies that have strawberry jelly in the center!"

"And who doesn't like peanut butter with chocolate?" Kaylee exclaimed. "Those with peanut allergies aside, of course."

"I know right!"

"Peanut butter is cool." Kaylee said, giving both Cheeks and Deku a big grin, who still looked just as flummoxed as Bakugou felt.

Cheeks returned Kaylee's smile. "So is jelly."

"So does this mean I won? We're doing Deku and Dynamight Hero Agency?" Deku asked, his head going back and forth between the two females. Bakugou felt like he was at a tennis match himself.

"It's Deku AND Dynamight Hero Agency," Kaylee told him with a smile. "And you didn't win." Kaylee got up from her seat. "I'll see you tonight; I'm going to go play with Eri. We're doing Pirates of the Caribbean and I get to be Jack Sparrow!"

He squeezed her hand and watched her leave only to turn and see Deku giving him a gleeful look. "What the hell is your problem now?"

"Kacchan, I think we all just unanimously agreed that you are Beyonce!"

….

"Goddamn it, they're all calling me 'Beyonce' now, Kaylee!" Bakugou tackled Kaylee the moment she opened her door later that evening.

"Wait, what? OOoff–Katsuki!" He threw her on the bed, laughing at her astonished expression and started tickling her.

"Yeah! I was working on my quirk this evening and the entire fucking class kept hurling song lyrics at me! Do you know what it's like having Kaminari sing "Crazy in Love" at the top of his voice inside Gym Gamma? That fucking place echoes!"

Kaylee was laughing so hard she was gasping and Bakugou had to pause tickling her to let her catch her breath. He straddled her legs, making sure to keep most of his weight off of her. "Oh my God, no–but that's–that's–"

"Think that's funny do you? How about when they all started doing the dance to "Single Ladies," huh? Have you seen this class dance? Only 4 or 5 at the most have any sort of fucking rhythm!" He started tickling her again, delighting at her carefree laugh, which was really just loud wheezing at the moment.

"I'm so sorry!" Kaylee finally gasped out. "I didn't think that through!"

"Ya think!" He eased to the side to let her sit up. His eyes went wide when he noticed she had her pajamas–bright pink fuzzy pajamas with anime-style rabbits and kittens on them. Shit, she was so fucking adorable, especially with her dark eyes so bright with laughter and her skin glowing. Her hair was still slightly damp from her shower, and he inhaled deeply, relishing the sweet scent of her soap. He'd not seen much of her since that afternoon–she'd gone to play with the squirt and he'd finished up the hero project then went to do some hero training in Gym Gamma.

She scooted up on the bed, making room for him to sit beside her, which he did. He tossed a look at all the pictures she had up of them on the wall beside the bed, feeling a little weird about having so many pictures of him looking back, but then he just turned his back to them and faced Kaylee, who was still chuckling and holding her stomach.

"I guess I won't ask you how the rest of your day went then," she said, still giggling.

He threw her a look. "How was yours? Did you and the Squirt have fun playing pirates?"

"Yes! I ate dinner with Eri and Mr. Aizawa and Present Mic stopped by to drop off something for Eri–apparently it was an exclusive toy of his hero line, which boy–that really does irritate Aizawa to no end!" She leaned her head on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around him. He tucked her in close, pulling up his All Might blanket to wrap around them. He listened as she told him about the rest of her day, just enjoying having her close and safe, occasionally giving her a kiss to her forehead or whatever part he could reach, just because he could. He knew it was getting late, and he needed to get to bed himself, but fuck–he didn't want to leave.

Kaylee's phone vibrating jarred him from his peaceful stupor.

"Good grief, who could that be?" Kaylee frowned as she reached for the phone. "Oh. I forgot she wanted me to call her tonight."

Bakugou looked over at the name coming through and before he could think straight, he had the phone in his hand, swiping to answer."

"Kaylee, how are you doing? That no-good son of mine treating you well?" came the voice of his mother on the other end.

"YOU HAG! You've been talking to Kaylee all this time–"

"Katsuki!" Bakugou wished he could see the surprised look on the old hag's face, because he'd never heard her make that kind of noise. "What are you doing answering Kaylee's phone, have you no sense of privacy?"

"Oh, that's rich! Getting a lesson on privacy from you! How did you get her number?" he snarled back, now completely wide awake.

"Not my fault that you don't lock your phone when you're at home! And I wouldn't call her so much if you remembered to call us more, you little shit! Now, let me talk to Kaylee!" Bakugou thrust the phone at Kaylee.

"Um, hi, Mitsuki? Yeah, I'm fine. He's fine too–he's just been really busy training lately and all. I know. I know, but it didn't feel right keeping that from him. Hold on–" Kaylee scooted back on the bed and held the phone out, giving him a hesitant smile. "I've got you on speaker now."

"HA! Like I've got anything to say to that–" Bakugou began, but stopped as Kaylee gave him a pleading look.

"Oh, fine!" His mother's voice came through loud and clear, but there was a softer tone. "I'm sorry I got Kaylee's number off your phone when you were visiting over the summer. I was concerned because you were so secretive about her, and when Inko mentioned she was a yakuza's daughter–"

"She thought I was some sort of spy or something," Kaylee explained, smiling at the phone. "She just wanted to protect you." She gave him a telling look. "Especially, with me being the daughter of a yakuza–"

"And a gold-digging Kardashian! Hi Kaylee! Hi Katsuki!" His dad's voice now chimed in. Bakugou reclaimed his seat next to Kaylee again and grabbed the phone.

"Hi Masaru!"

"Hi dad," Bakugou grumbled.

"I told her it was a bad idea–ouch!" He heard a loud pop, and Kaylee giggled softly.

"Are you mad at me too?" She asked, placing her hand over his. "I really didn't mean to keep it from you, but there was never a good time to tell you and we were so busy and I just–"

"Yeah, it's ok." He kissed her hand.

"I like your parents."

"We like you too, Kaylee!" His dad's voice boomed over the speaker.

"You still mad at me, brat?"

Bakugou groaned. "No, it's fine. I'm glad you guys like her." Kaylee beamed at him. "But–" he pointed a finger at Kaylee–"you should be so quick to answer calls from numbers you don't know!"

"Oh, I didn't! She texted me and I had her send me proof she was who she said she was."

"How the hell did you manage that? What sort of proof?" Bakugou got a strange feeling in his gut.

His parents started coughing loudly as Kaylee said proudly, "Oh, I had Mitsuki send me photos of you! I figured if she was who she said she was, she'd have pictures of you!"

His parents' coughing increased. "Shut it you two!" Bakugou snapped. "What sort of pictures?"

"Oh, baby pictures!" Kaylee squealed in delight, clapping her hands together. "You were so cuuuute as a baby! All that hair!"

"So, just baby pictures?" Bakugou noted how Kaylee's eyes darted quickly to the phone. He snatched it quickly and started scrolling through the photos.

"What's on the phone, Kaylee? Mom–what photos did you send her?" Bakugou nearly shouted, fear gripping him. Oh, if Kaylee saw the photo–if his mom sent that to her–

"Mitsuki, Masaru–make him stop!" Kaylee tried to grab the phone away, and fuck if those long arms of hers didn't almost snatch it back. He also may have been slightly distracted when she practically jumped on top of him, and her top rode up some with the effort.

"Not sure what we can do, but Kaylee you said you deleted those pictures!" He could tell his mom was slightly laughing now.

"I was! But–"

"You old hag! You sent her that picture, didn't you!"

"So what if I did? It's an adorable picture and I swear, when you and Midoriya become pro-heroes, I'm going to place an ad in the paper with it!"

"It's so precious, Katsuki!" Kaylee cried as she tried to reach for her phone. "You and Deku look so sweet holding hands wearing those bunny costumes!"

Gales of laughter erupted over the phone.

"Bunny? Those were All Might onesies! We were dressed as All Might!" Bakugou tried to sound menacing, but it was getting hard to do so, especially as Kaylee was still wriggling on top of him, still trying to get her phone back. Fuck, she was like an octopus, with arms and legs that went on for ages, and suddenly a hot flush of desire washed over him.

"Do you think you'll be able to come visit over the holidays, Kaylee?" They both froze at his dad's innocent question. Kaylee rolled off of him, and they both sat side-by-side.

"Oh my God, yes! Katsuki, you better bring her when you come visit for New Years!"

"Oh, I–I–I'd love to Masaru, Mitsuki, but my family–" Kaylee paled, giving him a panicked look. Bakugou swallowed-hell, he'd love to take her home to meet his parents.

"Yeah, her family–" Bakugou agreed. "They're fiercely protective of her. She's not able to leave the campus–"

"Oh please! Let me talk to them–yakuza or not, your dad and I have enough pull that we could get enough security around the house to make sure she's safe. Kaylee, give me your family's phone number. New Years isn't that far away!"

"Well," Kaylee stuttered, running a hand through her hair. Bakugou threw an arm around her in support as he thought of an answer to get his mom to back off. Stubborn old goat. "Let me talk to my family first, and see what they say, ok?"

"Yeah," he agreed, giving her a squeeze. "Let Kaylee talk to her family first. They've not met me either. New Years is still a couple of months off, so we have time, ok mom?"

"Yeah, I guess so," his mom sounded a little put out, but seemed to accept their response. "Well, it's late for us, and I know you've all been busy. Kaylee, you and I can talk later. Katsuki–you better call us more, ok?"

"Yeah, I will."

"We're supposed to get some really bad weather, a lot of snow is predicted in a day or so. You both stay warm!" His dad called out.

"We will. Good night Mitsuki, Masaru!" Kaylee called out.

"Good night Kaylee. Good night Katsuki," his mom said.

"Love you, son!"

"Love you, ungrateful brat!"

Bakugou grinned down at the phone. "You too."

Kaylee sighed as she leaned back up against him. "Wow, this has been a day, huh?

Bakugou snorted. "Yeah."

"Do you really think we'll get snow? Like a lot of snow? Will they close the school?" She pulled on his arm to get his attention. He noted her excitement, and remembered she'd never really seen snow before. He hated the shit, but made a note that even if it didn't snow, he'd get someone with a weather quirk to generate enough for her to enjoy. Maybe Icy-Hot could even make an ice-skating rink–she'd enjoy that. Come to think of it, it would be a great way for her to work on balance as well, and as graceful as she was, she'd pick up on that quickly.

"I think you'll have fun." He pulled her up, not even realizing they'd somehow wrestled themselves onto the floor. She got back into bed, scooting over to make enough room for him. Toeing off his shoes, turning off the lights, he slid in beside her. The room was bathed in a warm glow from her.

Kaylee leaned over when he was settled, giving him a kiss that had him almost purring. "Night, Katsuki." She tucked her head against his shoulder and snuggled up against him.

He sighed in contentment. "Night, Kaylee." He kissed the top of her head. The room fell silent as they both started to doze off.

A thought occurred to him. "Hey, Kaylee?"

"MMmmm?"

"You're going to delete that picture aren't you?"

A soft snore was her only reply.

A/N: Sorry this took me longer to get out, May was a rough month. The Deku/Dynamight scene was inspired by the David Tennant/Michael Sheen series "Staged" which if you haven't seen, you should! The moment I first saw them, I could see both Deku and Bakugou acting like those two. I hope you're still enjoying this story as much as I am. Take care and I'll do my best to get back on my update schedule.
