"Catria?" Celica called to her now larger comrade.
The commander had Catria's immediate attention. "Yes, Celica?"
"Come with me." the tiny priestess led the woman twice her size to the large blue cube Sonya had discovered earlier.

"Please push this block," Celica asked.
"Sure, Celica." Carefully stepping round the small Celica, Catria tried pushing the block. It didn't seem to move. More determined, she pushed harder, putting all of her weight behind her efforts. The sound of grinding stone filled the air as the block slowly moved. Satisfied that she could move the block, Catria stopped and looked down to Celica. "Where to?"
"Push it on top of that panel there, please," Celica asked, pointing to the tile with the blue square on it. Catria complied, pushing the block again. Celica could tell that pushing the block was taking quite a lot of effort on Catria's part, able to see sweat running down the larger woman's forehead. Catria was probably one of the stronger women in the group, Celica was glad she had been the one to grow and not one of the mages. Moments later the cube clicked into place, descending as the pink cube had.

"Hey, couldn't we have gotten, like, three of us to push it instead?" Est pointed out, "surely all of us together are stronger than Catria now, right? No need for anyone to get big!"

"…good point," Celica realized, "there are a few of us, after all."

"Well, it felt impossible to push to me!" Sonya defended her earlier conclusion, "maybe she's just freakishly strong!"

"Catria's not a freak. I should shrink you for that," Palla huffed.

"The other panel is glowing!" Mae called back from where Catria had been enlarged earlier.
"My turn!" Est shouted, jumping onto the pink panel. "I'm gonna be the biggest sister now!"
"No!" Sonya shouted, "I should be bigger!"
"Oh, Est..." Palla sighed.
Celica and Catria hurried back to the group to see Est engulfed in a pink light. The light faded, revealing the pegasus knight with a big grin on her face, excited to be the biggest in the group. Est was giddy with delight when she felt a change in herself. She looked around, noticing everyone getting bigger.

Wait, bigger? Dismayed, excitement turned to panic as Est found herself dwindling in size. The magic shrunk her down to half of an inch tall.
"What?! No fair!" she cried out.
"This is what you get for jumping without thinking, Est." her eldest sister chided her, hands on her hips.
"Heh, you got what you deserved." Sonya sneered, a smug look on her face.
"You can fix this, right Palla?" Est questioned her sister. "Change me back to your size!"
"Oh, no, I couldn't." Palla said, crouching down to Est's level and smiling, "I can only change you back to your normal size, remember? You'd be squished if I did that in here. Though I guess you would end up half of your normal height now?"
"No!" Est shouted.
"Besides," Palla continued, placing a finger under her smaller sibling's chin, "you're much too cute when you're so small!"
"Ugh..." Est sighed. Is this payback for teasing her earlier?
Celica spoke up. "Est, could you come with me please? Palla, Sonya, I'll need your help too."
"You have something in mind, Celica?" Palla asked.
"Yes," Celica confirmed, "I have an idea."
"Really?" Est asked.
"Fine, let's get this over with," Sonya agreed.

Celica led the three ladies towards the front of the room. "Genny found these odd structures earlier," Celica explained. "There seem to be small chambers inside each, but we couldn't get in."
"I see," Palla said, seeming to catch on.
"I don't like where this is going..." Sonya warned the priestess.
Celica turned to the pink pegasus knight. "Est, I think you're small enough to get inside this one. Crawl inside and push the block on top of the matching tile." She didn't know there was such a tile, but she knew a pattern when she saw one.
"Got it!" Est's enthusiasm returned, happy she was useful for something. She eagerly scurried through the hole.
"Palla, I'll need your help for this one," she placed her hand on the rectangle with a much smaller opening. "Please shrink Sonya and me so we can get inside."
"Certainly," Palla began her spell.
"No, wait..." Sonya protested, before the magic took hold of her. She huffed as she shrank in size along with the priestess. They quickly found themselves at a fraction of an inch tall, the same size as they were when going through the chamber of the dead.
"Don't be like that, Sonya," Celica smiled at the mage, "think of it as our own little adventure!"
"The sooner I'm bigger, the better." Sonya walked ahead, through the tiny entrance. Celica looked up at the giant Palla, seeing a big smile on her face. She smiled back before following her purple-haired comrade.

"Ugh, it's so dusty in here," Sonya complained, brushing at herself, "it seems much thicker when we're at shrimpy size."
"At least we're safe at this size," Celica commented, "we're too small for anything to notice us."
Sonya glared back at the younger woman, but didn't say anything. The miniature room was dark, but Celica's attention was drawn to the block pulsating with a green light. She could also see a section of the floor glowing the same color.
"There's our part of the puzzle. Come and help me, Sonya," Celica asked, running ahead.
"Fine, let's just get on with it."
The two micro-sized mages pushed the stone block as hard as they could. Although Celica had seen plenty of physical combat, she knew she wasn't as strong as the pegasus knights. That was why she sought to have Sonya shrink with her and help her out. Together they could move the block, scraping it to the matching tile. As expected, it sank into the ground. The room was left dark, save for the light from the entrance.
"That should do it," Celica said.
"Let's get out of here." The two tiny ladies hurried to the exit.

Back outside, Celica found the two pegasus knights.
"All done, Celica!" The now seemingly much bigger Est cheered down at the tiny leader.
"Great, thank you Est," Celica squeaked up at her. From the sight of Palla beside her, Celica could tell that Est was still half an inch tall.
"Celica, something seems to have happened with the statue," Palla informed the priestess.
"What do you mean?" Celica asked.
"Who cares about that?!" Sonya interrupted, "just grow me back already!"
Palla tutted. "A little patience would be nice." She complied anyway, the two mages growing back to the lofty height of one inch tall.
"Fine, thank you," Sonya said through her teeth, "now let's go and see what all the fuss is about."

The four soldiers re-joined their allies at the Mila statue.
"It suddenly started glowing with a weird light!" Mae told her friend.
"How strange," Palla remarked.
"I think we must have activated it somehow," Celica suggested, "placing those blocks in the right places must have done the trick."
"I-it feels more like the other Mila statues now..." Genny pointed out.
"Maybe it will give the rest of us the same power as Palla. Mae, could you please try it out?" Celica asked.
Mae almost objected, but she remembered that she was as good a person as any to try it out. Besides, Celica was her friend and leader, so she couldn't exactly say no.

"S-sure, Celica," she agreed, nervous about what would happen.

Mae approached the statue. Sighing, she knelt before it and closed her eyes. She waited. Nothing seemed to happen. She stood, partly relieved that she wasn't changing.
"I can't seem to use it," Mae called back to her friends.
"Hmm..." Celica was thinking. "Perhaps only Palla can use it? Would you give it a try?"
"Of course, Celica." Palla replaced Mae at the statue, kneeling down as the mage had. She quickly felt magical energy flowing through her, much like she had at the first statue. The energy reached a peak, then dispersed. Palla stood, sensing the end of the ritual, and looked down at herself. Nothing seemed to have changed. Turning back to her friends, the first thing she noticed was her giant sister's jaw hanging open.
"Palla, your back!" Catria said loudly.
"Hmm?" Palla was confused.
"Look!" Est squeaked, "on your back!"
Palla looked back only to flinch when she saw an odd transparent shape over her shoulder. She looked to the other side to see the same thing behind her other shoulder.
"What is this?" Palla asked, confused.
"They're like wings..." Celica observed, having joined her ally in front of the statue.
"You're like a fairy now, Palla!" Est cheered.
"My, my. So this is an upgrade for my new class?" Palla wondered aloud.
"Maybe you can fly with these," Celica suggested, "could you give it a go?"
"Well, I'm not sure, but... No harm in trying." Palla concentrated, thinking about the odd wings on her back. They started to flutter, sparkles of magic scattering off them. Palla carefully levitated into the air to the gasps of her sisters and friends. She gradually became more confident, floating about the room and going higher.
"I think I've got the hang of this," she said after a few seconds of flying around. It was not unlike being on the back of her pegasus, she thought, though it was a strange feeling doing the flying herself. "Where to, Celica?"
"Fly up to that lever!" Celica commanded, pointing towards the ceiling, "see if you can pull it!"
Palla fluttered to the lever, inspecting it. She just had to pull it downwards. Floating closer, she grabbed it with both hands and pulled with all of her strength. She could feel it move slightly, possibly rigid from years without use, but eventually it came free and slid into the downwards position. Moments later, a rumble filled the air, causing the tiny pegasus knight to lose her balance. Catching herself, she saw the wall behind the statue move away, revealing a new corridor.

Palla landed near the rest of the mini militia, carefully fluttering to the ground.
"Thank you, Palla," the commander said to her.
"Way to go, sister!" Est shouted at her from below.
Palla smiled. "No problem. So this is where we go next?" she asked.
"Yes, it seems we've solved this puzzle. Let us proceed." Celica led the way down the dark corridor. Fortunately, it was more than large enough for Catria to fit through.
