The following day, none of the Warners were talking to each other. Wakko was grounded due to his over-the-top actions the night before, Dot was furious, and Yakko was trying to process what was going on.
Sometime later, Dot, who had came out of the bedroom.
"Hello, brothers." the youngest Warner child said in a deadpan tone.
"Hi." Yakko said, turning his head.
"Hey there." Wakko said.
"You're not going to like this, but I'm running away." Dot said.
Both Yakko and Wakko were shocked upon hearing those particular words.
"Running away?! What for?!" Yakko asked in shock.
"I have to leave since I can't trust Wakko to not break my stuff for no reason." Dot said.
Wakko, feeling guilty, stood up. "Dot, I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you in any way."
"It's too late for that. You knew how much that helicopter meant to me, and you go ahead and destroy it anyway." Dot said.
"I'm sorry, too, Dot. If anything, this is my fault." Yakko said.
"I'm not mad at you, Yakko. Wakko's the one to blame here, not you." Dot said.
"Dot, please, don't do this. Don't run away. It's a cold and dangerous world out there. You could get yourself into a lot of trouble." Wakko pleaded.
"I think I can fare well on my own. I don't want either one of you to try and stop me." Dot said. She headed out the door.
Wakko slumped down. "I feel awful."
"You should. You were totally out of line last night. I don't know what came over you, but what you did was so unlike you. Frankly, I'm very disappointed in you." Yakko said. He had never been so serious in his life.
"I'm disappointed in me, too. Heck, given my nature, I can get quite out of control from time to time. It's rare, but it happens." Wakko said.
"This isn't about you, Wakko. This is about Dot and whether or not she make it on her own. She's only ten years old. She's not equipped to live on her own, not no way, not no how." Yakko said.
"You're right, she's not. Should we try to go after her?" Wakko asked.
"Yeah. She can't get too far." Yakko said.
"That's what I was thinking, too. Also, Yakko, I just wanna point out that I don't think you're being fair to me." Wakko said.
"Fair? Wakko, what happened last night was your fault and your fault alone. You have no one to blame but yourself." Yakko said.
Wakko nodded. "You're right."
"Now, let's go find Dot. She probably misses us already." Yakko said.
Yakko and Wakko were about to leave the water tower, only to hear the sound of shouting voices coming from outside.
"Wakko, you hear that?" Yakko asked.
"Yeah, sounds like voices." Wakko replied.
Outside the lot, these military vehicles kept pulling in left and right. Men wearing camouflage gear got out with bazookas and were shouting, "GO! GO! GO!"
One man busted inside the psychiatrist building and yelled "PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR, NOW!"
Hello Nurse, completely terrified, did as she was told. Then, Dr. Scratchansniff came running into the lobby in a panic.
"PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR, NOW! COME ON, LET'S GO!" the man shouted. He had his bazooka aimed carefully.
Dr. Scratchansniff, also extremely terrified, did as he was told.
The man escorted Dr. Scratchansniff and Hello Nurse outside. Neither of them said a single word.
Another man escorted Mr. Plotz outside, also not saying a word.
"Did we get all of them?" Man #1 asked Man #2.
"I think we did." Man #2 responded.
"I'll notify the boss." Man #1 said. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a walkie-talkie. "Boss, we have three people in custody."
"Excellent. Bring them to me as soon as you can."
"Yes, boss." Man #1 said, putting the walkie-talkie away. "Do it."
Man #2 nodded and shot Dr. Scratchansniff, Hello Nurse, and Mr. Plotz with tranquilizers. Each of them immediately fell unconscious.
"Alright, people, let's head out!" Man #1 said.
All of the men got back into their vehicles and drove away, taking Scratchy, Hello Nurse, and Mr. Plotz with them.
Inside the water tower, Yakko and Wakko were hiding under the coffee table. They managed to stay quiet during all the ruckus that was going on outside.
"I don't hear the voices anymore." Yakko said.
"Me neither." Wakko said.
Yakko and Wakko got up from underneath the coffee table.
"Now we can go look for Dot, assuming it's safe to go outside." Yakko said.
"Right. Hey, Yakko, are you still mad at me?" Wakko asked.
Yakko didn't answer at first, before saying, "Look we'll talk about this later, okay? In the meantime, let's find Dot."
"Okay." Wakko said.
Dot had made her way to the park. She sat down on a bench and lamented. Mindy passed by chasing a flying balloon while Buttons was running after her in a panic.
"Buttons must get a lot of exercise chasing Mindy every day." Dot said to no one in particular.
Newt, of all people, was walking by picking up trash when he noticed Dot. He stopped what he was doing.
"Hello, Dot." Newt said.
Dot looked up. "Oh, hi, Newt. What're you doing here?"
"I got sentenced to community service every Friday for the rest of my life." Newt said.
"Let me guess, a cop caught you littering again." Dot said.
"Sounds about right." Newt said.
"Well, sorry about your situation. That's all I can really say." Dot said.
"It's alright. What's gotten you down?" Newt asked.
"Yesterday Yakko bought me a brand-new remote control helicopter. It cost a hundred dollars, which gives you an idea how valuable it was. Unfortunately, Wakko had to be a big meanie pants and smash my helicopter to pieces because it kept breaking stuff in our house." Dot said.
"Wow, that seems like a bit of an overreaction on his part!" Newt said, blinking.
"At least you understand! Yakko understood, too. He was really angry at Wakko. He even grounded him." Dot said.
Newt shuddered. "My master has serious anger problems, but that's beside the point. Anyway, what are you doing out here all by yourself?"
"I ran away from home. And before you say I'm being irrational, I think I made the right decision." Dot said.
"I don't know, Dot. Yakko and Wakko are probably out looking for you right now. They're probably worried sick about you." Newt said.
"What would you know?" Dot asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, for one, I've been around you guys plenty of times, and two, looking for someone after they've ran away is a perfectly normal, reasonable, and natural reaction. It what makes us us!" Newt said.
"You're right, Newt. Ugh, why do you have to be so smart?" Dot asked.
"I ask myself that all the time, my friend." Newt said.
Without warning, the Goodfeathers flew in. They perched on the ground and cooed.
"Yo, Dot and Newt. What's poppin'?" Bobby asked.
"Not much." Dot said in a deadpan tone.
"I'm doing okay." Newt said.
"Still doin' community service, huh Newt?" Pesto asked.
"Every Friday for the rest of my life, or at least until the police are satisfied." Newt said.
"Man, I'd hate to do any kind of community work for a prolonged amount of time." Squit said.
"Everybody would, you demented ding-dong." Pesto remarked quite snidely.
"Pesto, don't even start." Bobby said, sounding like he was so done.
"What? Let's face it, no sane person would like to do community service. Therefore, Squit's statement was not needed." Pesto said.
"If you say so." Squit said, embarrassed.
"Hey, Dot, why the long face? You look like you just lost your best friend." Bobby said.
"Long story short, Yakko bought me a remote control helicopter yesterday, I played with it, but then Wakko decided to be an idiot and smash it to pieces." Dot said.
"Why would he do that?" Pesto asked.
"I have no idea, Pesto. He was totally out of line." Dot said.
"Well, did he get his act together in time?" Squit asked.
"Yeah, he did. Yakko grounded him." Dot said.
"I'd do the same." Bobby said.
"Can I just say this? It's nice to have my friends to talk to about this. I was alone out here until Newt showed up." Dot said.
"That's what friends are for!" Newt said.
Dot didn't bother to tell the Goodfeathers that she ran away from home, at least not yet. Then, Slappy and Skippy Squirrel stopped by, again without warning.
"Well, well, well, look who we have here. We have Dot, Newt, and the Goodfeathers. You guys havin' a picnic or somethin'?" Slappy asked.
"It's nice to see you, too, Slappy. Hi, Skippy." Dot said.
"Hello!" Skippy greeted cheerfully.
Yakko and Wakko climbed down the water tower. When they were about to walk, they stopped dead in their tracks.
"Shoot! I just realized we had an appointment with Scratchy today." Yakko said.
"Oh yeah, we did." Wakko said.
"But finding Dot is more important, so let's focus on that." Yakko said.
"We should probably let Scratchy know what's going on in case he wonders why we're not there." Wakko said.
"Good idea." Yakko said.
The two brothers went to the psychiatrist building and headed to Dr. Scratchansniff's office. They noticed that the door was open. When they took a peek inside, they noticed that he wasn't there.
"Huh, he's not here." Wakko said, scratching his neck.
"Hello Nurse isn't here either I noticed." Yakko said.
"I noticed that, too. Speaking of people not being here, where's Ralph?" Wakko asked.
"He's on vacation, remember? He told us last week that he'd going out of town to Hawaii." Yakko said.
"Oh yeah, that's right! I must've zoned out or something." Wakko said.
"Welp, we better let Plotz know that Scratchy and Hello Nurse have mysteriously disappeared. I don't wanna get fired." Yakko said.
"Why would Plotz fire us just because they've suddenly disappeared and we've happened to notice it?" Wakko asked.
"People are like that." Yakko said.
"That's true." Wakko said.
Yakko and Wakko walked over to Mr. Plotz's office and knocked on the door. Strangely, there wasn't an answer.
"Something strange is going on here." Yakko said, beginning to get suspicious.
"You're telling me." Wakko said.
Yakko knocked once more. "Hello? Mr. Plotz, are you in there?"
There was still no answer.
Yakko and Wakko looked at each other worriedly. The former opened the door as he and his brother walked in. To their surprise, Mr. Plotz wasn't there.
"Plotz isn't here, either, Yakko!" Wakko said. He was starting to panic.
"I know! What are we gonna do?!" Yakko asked, also panicking.
"I don't know! First, Dot leaves, and now Scratchy, Hello Nurse, and Plotz are suddenly gone!" Wakko said.
"Can this day get any worse?!" Yakko asked.
"Alright, let's try to calm down. Panicking will get us nowhere." Wakko said.
Yakko's face immediately turned to horror. "Oh my God..."
"What?" Wakko asked.
"Those voices that we heard while we were hiding sounded like they were raiding the lot. Maybe they took Scratchy, Nurse, and Plotz with them!" Yakko said.
"That can't be possible...can it?" Wakko asked, his expression changing to fear.
"At this point, anything is possible. Oh boy, I was right. This day CAN get worse!" Yakko said.
"You were right, Yakko. This is all my fault. None of this wouldn't have happened if I didn't destroy Dot's helicopter. I feel so ashamed of myself right now." Wakko said. Tears welled up in his eyes and rolled down his face as he sobbed.
Yakko couldn't but feel bad for his little brother. He felt he was a little too hard on him, even though what he did was wrong.
"Hey, it's okay, buddy. You didn't mean to do what you did, you weren't thinking clearly. I'm not mad at you anymore." Yakko said, placing his hand on Wakko's shoulder.
Wakko sniffled and wiped his eyes. "Thanks, Yakko. That makes me feel a little better."
"Good. Now, stop crying. You're gonna make me cry." Yakko said with a giggle.
Wakko giggled as well. He stopped crying and got himself together.
"Okay, we have to find our sister, and figure out where Scratchy, Hello Nurse, and Plotz were taken. We have to right this wrong immediately." Wakko said.
"That's my little brother! Brave and courageous!" Yakko said proudly.
"Funny, I was about to make a joke about how they don't call me Wakko *insert middle name here* Warner for nothing." Wakko said.
"You can make jokes later. Right now, we've got a job to do." Yakko said.
Wakko nodded as he and Yakko left the lot and began their trek.
"Alright, where do we look first?" Wakko asked.
"We usually go the park to cool off, so Dot's probably there right now." Yakko said.
"Wait a minute, Wakko did what?!" Slappy asked, shell-shocked.
"He smashed my helicopter into pieces with his trusty mallet! Right in front of me and Yakko, no less!" Dot said.
"Jeez, he must've been out of his mind to do something as crazy as that!" Skippy said.
"He totally was, Skippy. You should've been there to witness it in person. It was insane." Dot said.
"I'm conflicted, to be honest. I understand that it's troublesome to have a toy break important items in one's house, but no one should do something as psychotic like that. Even I wouldn't do something like that." Slappy said.
"I was so upset and devastated I couldn't think straight. Yakko was very angry with Wakko when it happened. He even grounded him." Dot said.
"That's good parenting skills on Yakko's part." Skippy said.
"Darn right." Slappy said, nodding in agreement.
"Hopefully you three will makeup somehow. I hear all these horror stories of siblings abandoning each other because of a really bad falling out." Newt said.
"Don't pay attention to dat stuff, Newt. It's all tabloid bologna, trust me." Bobby said.
"Now that you mention it, Dot's story would make for a good report on TMZ." Pesto said.
Everybody gave Pesto dirty looks after he said what he said.
"What?! What'd I do?!" the pigeon asked, stunned.
Squit cooed. "I remember one time my girlfriend and I got into a huge fight because I was spendin' too much time at the local pool hall. Luckily, we settled things the very next day."
"Hey, I thought this was about me, not you!" Dot said with slight hostility in her voice.
"Hehe, my bad." Squit said nervously.
"I'm sorry, Squit. I'm just still upset about what happened, that's all. No hard feelings." Dot said reassuring.
"Hey, don't sweat it, kid. We're all friends here." Bobby said.
"Bobby's right. Even if you and your brothers aren't on speakin' terms, we're still here." Slappy said.
"We're always here for you, Dot." Skippy said.
"If you ever need anybody to talk to, just know that you have us and the rest of our friends." Newt said.
Dot smiled knowingly. "Thanks, guys. At least I have friends I can count on."
Everybody involuntarily happily shared a group hug. After letting go of each other, a teenager who was skateboarding came to a halt.
"Hey, are you guys part of the Animaniacs cast?" the teen asked.
"Yeah, why?" Slappy asked.
"Three of your friends have taken! I saw it with my own two eyes!" the teen said.
"Taken? W-what do you mean taken?" Newt asked, starting to worry.
"What does it sound like? These big guys driving military SUVs and wearing camo gear raided the lot and took three of your friends!" the teen said.
"Well, who did they take?!" Dot asked in a panic.
"A tall bald guy with glasses, a blonde lady, and a short, stocky almost-balding guy wearing a blue suit. I didn't get their names but I know for sure what they looked like." the teen said.
Knowing exactly who the teen was talking about, Dot, Newt, the Goodfeathers, Slappy, and Skippy started freaking out even harder. Their friends were in terrible danger, and they knew they had to save them once and for all.
"Okay, well, uh, we have to find them and save them! And quick, before it's too late!" Bobby said.
"You're not gonna get anywhere standing around. Come with me. I can lead you to your friends." the teen said.
The group and the teen started walking along the pathway of the park.
"Thanks for your help, kid. It's not every day we meet trustworthy people like you." Slappy said.
"It's my pleasure. My name's Jordan, by the way." Jordan said.
"Nice to meet you, Jordan!" Skippy said cheerfully.
"I've only seen a few episodes of your show, which is why I don't know all of the names of the characters. But I know that your guys' names are Dot Warner, Bobby, Pesto, Squit, Slappy Squirrel, and Skippy Squirrel." Jordan said.
"What about me?" Newt asked.
"Sorry, I don't know your name, blue dog with a red nose." Jordan said.
"It's Newt." Newt said.
"Ah, Newt, right. Wait a minute, who names their dog Newt?" Jordan asked, confused.
"I don't know, but my master thinks it fits." Newt said.
Dot made a sour face. "Oh, this is all my fault! None of this wouldn't have happened if I didn't run away from home!"
"You ran away from home?!" Bobby asked, totally shocked.
"Why would you do that?!" Pesto asked, equally shocked.
"Because I panicked, okay?! Is that you wanted to hear?!" Dot asked in hysterics.
"Where are Yakko and Wakko then?!" Asked Squit.
"I have no idea, Squit!" Dot said.
"Does this stuff happen on a regular basis?" Jordan asked Slappy and Skippy.
"Only on good days." Slappy replied.
Yakko and Wakko were walking around the neighborhood, calling out Dot's name in the process. Realizing they were getting nowhere, they both stopped.
"I thought you said Dot might be at the park." Wakko said.
"Hey, it was your idea to call after her, not mine." Yakko said.
"That's true. When a family member of yours is out and about, you start doing stuff." Wakko said.
"Hopefully Dot's alright, and that nobody tried to kidnap her." Yakko said.
"I seriously doubt someone tried to kidnap her. She has a mallet, she could use that against any perpetrator if she wanted to." Wakko said.
"Good point." Yakko said.
"By the way, thanks for not rubbing it in." Wakko said.
"Rubbing what in?" Yakko asked.
"That I destroyed Dot's helicopter and was acting like a crazy person." Wakko said.
"Oh, don't mention it." Yakko said.
"I hope she can forgive me. If not, then I don't know what to do." Wakko said.
"She will. I just know it." Yakko said with optimism.
When Yakko and Wakko made it to the park, they were shocked to discover that Dot wasn't there.
"She's not here, Yakko!" Wakko said in a panic.
"Where could she possibly be?!" Yakko asked in a panic.
"I don't know, but she has to be out there somewhere!" Wakko said.
Both Yakko and Wakko were hopelessly defeated. They fell to their knees and buried themselves inside them.
A/N: Thank you Mr. Yaksman for the review! I very much appreciate it!
