When Yakko and Wakko got home, they plopped down the sofa. They looked around before looking at each other, and at the blank TV screen.

"It's strange without Dot here. Quiet, too." Yakko said.

"You should've said that earlier when she left and ran away from our lives." Wakko said.

"Sorry, my mistake." Yakko said worriedly. He looked to the side and made a face. "So, uh, wanna watch TV?"

"I don't care." Wakko merely stated with his arms crossed. Something was clearly bothering him.

Yakko slowly nodded and grabbed the remote. He turned on TV. Aside from this, he also wanted answers as to why his brother was being a smart-aleck all of a sudden.

"What's with the attitude, Wakko?" Yakko asked.

"What attitude? I don't have an attitude." Wakko said, trying to deflect.

"Yes you do. When I asked you if you wanted to watch TV, you responded with a smart-alecky tone. And I wanna know why." Yakko said.

"Maybe I'm going through puberty." Wakko said.

"Quite possibly, but I know for sure that's not the only reason." Yakko said.

"I think you're the one with the attitude." Wakko said.

Ignoring that statement, Yakko flipped through channels and stopped at the news.

"And on today's story, an unassuming man shows off his latest invention: metal smartphone cases. Here's an interview with the man now."

"Turn that rubbish off, Yakko!" Wakko snapped.

Yakko did indeed turn the TV off, but set the remote down and became angry.

"Okay, here's the deal, Mister Smartmouth! You're gonna tell me what's going on with you, or else you can say hello to a trip to your room!" Yakko said very sternly.

"Fine, I'll tell you! Look, the truth is, I'm angry with myself." Wakko said.

Yakko's face turned curious. "Why?"

"With everything that's going on right now; Dot being who-knows-where, Dr. Scratchansniff, Hello Nurse, and Plotz gone; these things are putting me on edge! Besides, I'm angry with myself because of what I did the other day. What I did to my sister. The thing that she cherished the most at the time got taken away from her because of me! Because of my stupid, idiotic self! So, big brother, if you must know why I have an attitude, it's because of that! Happy now?!" Wakko ranted. He took a deep breath in and out.

Yakko didn't know Wakko had it in him to admit to his mistakes. He certainly didn't do that while messing with random people on Animaniacs.

"You are not stupid, or idiotic for that matter. Yes, what you did was wrong, we've established that several times. But now it's time to move on. It may not be easy, but we're going to get through this. Right now, we have to focus on one thing, and that's rescuing the people who are near and dear to us. Can you do that for me?" Yakko asked.

Wakko nodded, saying "Yes I can."

"Good!" Yakko said in his usual giddy optimism.

"I just need a favor from you real quick." Wakko said.

"What is it?" Yakko asked.

"Destroy my mallet for me. Please." Wakko said.

Upon hearing those words come out of his little bro's mouth, Yakko immediately frowned. "Why on earth would you want me to do that?"

"I can't be trusted with it. I'm afraid I might smash important stuff with it." Wakko said.

"I'm not destroying your mallet, Wakko!" Yakko said.

"Aw, come on! What's the big deal?" Wakko asked.

"You'll need it to fight off bad guys mainly, among other things." Yakko said.

"I'm sure Slappy has tons of new weapons I could use, like dynamite, bombs, fireworks, or even grenades!" Wakko said.

"First off, those are way too dangerous for a kid your age. I still don't know why Slappy lets Skippy use them on a regular basis." Yakko said.

"She obviously trusts him." Wakko said.

"Yeah, but that's them. Either way, I'm not destroying your mallet. Ever." Yakko said.

"Maybe I'll ask Dot after she comes home, or when we find her ourselves." Wakko said.

"She's probably gonna say no. Heck, I won't be surprised if she does!" Yakko said.

"It's worth a chance." Wakko said.

[9:30 PM]

Yakko and Wakko were fast asleep in their triple-layer bunk bed. Although Yakko could sleep just fine, it wasn't the case for Wakko. How could he knowing the situation his sister and friends were in? He felt it wasn't fair for them, like they shouldn't have to suffer at the account of someone's else own shortcomings.

The morning after, Wakko was still in laying in bed, although he was awake. Yakko was already up reading the newspaper that was dropped off every Saturday morning.

When Wakko finally decided to get out of bed, he walked into the living room and yawned.

"Hey." Yakko said.

"Hey." Wakko said.

"I can't believe that we're still receiving newspapers even though it's 2022. It's like they're unable to get with the times." Yakko said.

"Yeah, right." Wakko said, almost dazed.

"Anyway, how'd ya sleep?" Yakko asked.

"Not too good. I kept having these visions. Not dreams, not nightmares, but visions." Wakko said.

"Visions about what?" Yakko asked.

"Believe me, you don't wanna know." Wakko said, shaking his head.

"Okay..." Yakko said, confused.

Wakko's stomach rumbled. "I sure am hungry."

"Me too. How does Rusty's Diner sound?" Yakko asked.

"Yuck! Yakko, you know I hate that place. Their French toast is horrendous. Everyone that we know agrees." Wakko said.

"Excuse me for asking." Yakko said with a shrug.

"I know we can't go people-searching on an empty stomach, though." Wakko said.

"Heh, when you said that, I envisioned ourselves stranded on a deserted island searching for food and water." Yakko said.

"Your imagination floors me sometimes." Wakko said.

Profusely, the brothers heard the sound of a car beep locked outside. Having an idea who it was, they got excited.

"Is that who I think it is?" Yakko asked. His eyes were lit up.

"There's only one way to find out." Wakko said. He had a bright grin on his face.

Yakko and Wakko leaped off of their feet and ran straight towards the door. They opened it and climbed down the water tower. They got even more excited when Ralph got out of his car. He was wearing his new brown uniform from the reboot, rather than his old one that made him look like a cop.

"RALPH!" Yakko and Wakko shouted, overjoyed at seeing at least one person close to them.

"Whoa, somebody's happy to see me, hehe!" Ralph said, totally unexpected.

The brothers ran towards the bumbling security guard and hugged him. Although bemused, he reciprocated.

"I'd say that's an understatement." Yakko said.

"How was Hawaii?" Wakko asked.

"It was great! My wife and I did so much stuff together, like surfing, hanging out in a pool, animal watching, I could go on and on. But how are you two doing?" Ralph asked.

"We're-we're hanging in there, to say the least." Yakko said.

"Good to hear. Where's Dot?" Ralph asked, curious as to why she wasn't present.

Yakko and Wakko gave each other a nervous glance, debating whether or not to tell Ralph the truth. The eventually decided on the truth, as it was easier and lying was wrong anyway.

"Listen, Ralph, we don't know where Dot is. Yesterday she ran away from home and hasn't come back yet. She could be anywhere." Wakko said.

Ralph's facial expression quickly turned into a shocked one. "She ran away?! Why?!"

"Let's just say she's pretty upset with me right now." Wakko said.

"Well, what could you have to done to make her so upset at you, Wakko?" Ralph asked.

"I smashed-" Wakko started, but his mouth was immediately covered by a hasty Yakko.

"He, uh, he pulled a harmless prank on her which caused her to run away!" Yakko said, giving a nervous grin.

"I'd say it's an overreaction to run away if the prank Wakko did was harmless." Ralph said.

"Oh yeah, an overreaction, right." Yakko said.

Wakko pulled his brother's hand away from his mouth. "Anyway, Dot's gone and now we're looking for."

"I wish you the best of luck. It's tough looking for people you care very deeply about." Ralph said, a statement that couldn't be more true.

"Tell me about it. Also, we don't know for sure, but we have a feeling that Scratchy, Hello Nurse, and Plotz were taken." Yakko said.

Ralph nearly exploded. "WHAT?! TAKEN BY WHO?!"

"By a group of very angry men who raided the lot yesterday, for whatever reason." Wakko said.

"I come back from Hawaii and find out that the lot was raided, Dot's missing, and now Scratchansniff, Nurse, and Mr. Plotz are captured. I should've stayed home." Ralph said.

"Don't blame yourself, Ralph. The outside world plus the people who took are friends are the ones to blame." Yakko said.

"Yeah, true. Are you kids hungry?" Ralph asked.

"Yes!" Yakko and Wakko both said at the same time.

"In that case, if you're interested, I'll take you to my place and we all can eat breakfast there. I'm hungry myself." Ralph said.

"That would be great, Ralph, thanks!" Wakko said excitedly.

"We are forever grateful!" Yakko said.

"My pleasure!" Ralph said.

Yakko and Wakko stepped inside the water tower to get dressed before coming back out and getting inside Ralph's car. He drove to his trailer park.

"Yakko, Wakko, welcome to my very own trailer." Ralph said.

"Wow, it hasn't changed one bit! It's the first we've been here since we did that Christmas special back in '93." Yakko said.

"Ahh, the memories." Wakko said.

Yakko, Wakko, and Ralph got out of the car. The latter unlocked the door to his trailer and opened it.

"Honey, I'm home!" Ralph yelled.

Ralph's wife peered her head around the entrance to the door. "Back so soon, Ralph?"

"I've got company." Ralph said.

Yakko and Wakko entered first, then Ralph.

"Long time no see!" Yakko said.

Ralph's wife laughed with pure joy. "Haven't seen you kids in a hot minute! Bring it in!"

Yakko and Wakko were squeezed into a hug by the wife.

"Haven't changed much, huh Ralph?" Wakko managed to spit out.

Ralph gave a giggle while taking off his hat.
