Jordan and his mother have been spending the last twenty-four hours searching for the complex where some of the Animaniacs were taken to. Unfortunately, there wasn't much progress being made.
Jordan was sixteen years old. He loved to go skateboarding, as it was his favorite hobby. He gets good grades in school and is very well-behaved. His mother, Barbara, was twenty-one when she gave birth to him, meaning she was thirty-seven now. She was kind, sweet, and a caring mother to Jordan. He could never be more grateful.
Fighting the urge to give up, Jordan started to vent. "We've searched everywhere for them, Mom. I'm beginning to think we'll never find them."
"Don't worry, Jordan, we'll find them, I promise. To be honest, I'm not too familiar with Animaniacs, but if it means that much to you, I'll support you all the way." Barbara said.
"Thanks, Mom. I've only seen a few episodes of the show, but that's not important. What is important is rescuing the characters that were taken." Jordan said.
"Well, we went to all of the complexes you searched for, and not a single one of them had what we were looking for. Plus, we're starting to lose sleep here." Barbara said.
Coming to a realization, Jordan's face changed and he immediately swept off of his feet. "Wait a minute, there's one base I forgot about!"
"What was it?" Barbara asked.
"While I was scrolling through results on the internet, I glanced over one called Fort Burbank. It's the only one we haven't went to, so it must be it!" Jordan said excitedly.
"Well, hallelujah!" Barbara said with a big grin on her face.
"It's not too late to go there now, is it?" Jordan asked.
"Absolutely not." Barbara responded.
"Thank goodness." Jordan said.
Jordan and Barbara left their house and got in the car.
"I'll turn on my GPS so we'll know where to go. What's the address again?" Barbara asked.
"Uh, 2257 S Ft. Burbank Dr." Jordan said.
Barbara typed the address into her GPS and it registered. "Got it." She started up the car and drove.
"I'm actually really excited we're doing this." Jordan said.
"Me too." Barbara said.
"We were raised to be good people and help others." Jordan said.
"Yep." Barbara said.
Just when things were starting to get decent (if not necessarily good), the unthinkable happened. The car unexpectedly came to a halt, totally stopped in its tracks.
"You have got to be kidding me! Just as we were about to do the right thing, the car runs out of gas! Ugh!" Barbara complained.
"Boy, we're really starting to get into some deep shit now. Excuse my language." Jordan said.
"No, I agree with you. To make matters worse, the nearest gas station is many miles away." Barbara said.
"Well, this sucks." Jordan said with disappointment.
"I know. I have no idea what to do, either." Barbara said.
"You could try calling Dad, he might be able to help." Jordan said.
"Good thinking, Jordan! I'll give him a call. Hopefully he's not too busy." Barbara said.
"Alright." Jordan said.
Barbara reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. She dialed the number for Jordan's father, Barry, and called him. It kept ringing and ringing up.
"Pick up, pick up please." Barbara mumbled.
The phone rang once more until it went to voicemail. Barbara, despondent, hung up and put her phone back in her pocket.
"Dad must be busy." Jordan said.
"He must be. I don't know who else to call." Barbara said.
They couldn't call either of Jordan's grandparents, since both of them were tragically killed in car accident when he was little. It affected him, Barbara, and Barry pretty hard, but they were able to move on.
"How 'bout we call a cab?" Jordan asked.
"It's our only option at this point. I'll do that." Barbara said.
Barbara called a taxi and the driver said he would arrive as soon as possible.
"I wonder what we're going to do with our car. I mean, we can't just leave it here stranded in the middle of the road." Jordan said.
"We'll think of something, don't worry." Barbara said.
The taxi arrived at the scene. Jordan and Barbara got out of their car and got into the yellow vehicle.
"Where ya headed?" The driver asked.
"2257 S Ft. Burbank Dr, please." Barbara said.
"Sorry, I don't know where that is." The driver asked.
"Luckily, the GPS on my phone will tell you how to get there!" Barbara said.
"Alright. Just remember, it's gonna be a long ride." The driver said.
"We're prepared for that." Jordan said.
Barbara paid the driver five dollars and he drove off.
"So, uh, do you pick up a lot of people per day?" Barbara asked, trying to make conversation.
"It depends. Sometimes I get a lot of people, sometimes I get none." The driver asked.
"What do you do when you get none?" Jordan asked.
"I tell my boss and usually lets me go, meaning I get to have the day off." The driver said.
"I see." Barbara said.
"It only happens every once and awhile, though, not all the time." The driver said.
"I bet you wish it happened all the time." Jordan said.
"Actually, I don't. I love my job. Quite frankly, it's the best job I've ever had." The driver said.
"Aww, that's nice!" Barbara said with a smile.
"Yepper." The driver said.
The taxi was driving down the road for a long time. Fort Burbank was located all the way on the south side of town, and it was beneficial for them. Since it was far, no one wanted to go there.
When they arrived at said address, there was one problem; a giant dome-shaped building was supposed to be there. This time, it wasn't.
"Here we are!" The driver said, totally oblivious.
Barbara made a face. "I'm confused. It says we're at the right address, but I don't see a Fort Burbank."
"Me neither." Jordan said.
"Huh, strange." The driver said.
Realizing the fault in her mistake, Barbara leaned back. "Oh...my...God...I am such an idiot!"
"What happened, Mom?!" Jordan asked, concerned.
"I forgot to type in 'Ft' while putting in the address! Ugh!" Barbara complained.
"Oh...so instead of 2257 S Ft. Burbank Dr, it took us to 2257 S Burbank Dr." Jordan said.
"Yes, exactly." Barbara said.
"That's too bad. I never have any trouble with taking people to their desired destinations." The driver said.
"You don't say." Barbara said.
Jordan and Barbara were stumped thinking about what they were going to do now, since the latter accidentally forgot an important thing while doing the GPS.
A/N: Thank you Mr. Yaksman for your support on the story!!! I really do appreciate it. :D
