3rd Person P.O.V.
Dream woke up feeling rather warm. George was sprawled on top of him haphazardly, a light flush to his cheeks. The blond frowned, lightly pressing a hand to George's forehead. The smaller boy shivered at the touch, Dream yanking his hand away quickly at the heat. He quickly realized the warmth he felt wasn't his body, but George's, and concern for his boyfriend kicked in.
"George. George, wake up," he spoke softly, shaking George's shoulder to try and rouse the older man from his slumber.
"Mmhm..." George mumbled, forehead creasing uncomfortably. "Dream..."
"Yeah, baby, it's me," the blond confirmed, gently pushing George off of him. "I'll be right back, ok? I'm going to get the thermometer."
"Oh... you ok?" Dream got out of bed, frowning at his boyfriend's mumbled comment. Of course George would be worried about him... even when Dream felt perfectly fine and George was the one who was sick.
"I'm fine, Georgie, just... stay there." He grabbed the thermometer from the medicine cabinet, checking his own temperature first, even though he felt fine.
As expected, it came back normal, and Dream quickly washed off the thermometer before bringing it to George.
"Hey..." he murmured, speaking quietly as to not scare the brunette. "I'm going to take your temperature, ok? I need you to keep it under your tongue," Dream instructed, pushing the device to George's lips. The older of the two accepted it, letting Dream take his temperature without much of a fuss. Honestly, he was just too tired to care. His whole body felt like it was made of concrete, and moving was exhausting. He didn't even bother opening his eyes, instead just sitting obediently and letting Dream do what he needed.
"Oh, bubba..." the blond sighed, reading the thermometer. "102.6° F (39.2° C). You're definitely sick." The number was concerning, considering how high it was, but Dream wasn't overly worried about it. He would be here to watch over George, and it would all be fine.
"Mhmm..."
"I'll be right back, ok?" Dream cradled George's head for a moment, leaning in to peck his forehead quickly before leaving to grab a wet washcloth. He draped it over the brunette's forehead, hearing a soft sigh escape his lips.
"Does that feel better?" George opened his eyes hazily, staring at Dream seductively through half-lidded pupils.
"I bet you could make me feel better~"
"GEORGE!" Dream blushed, seeing a matching pink hue to George's skin. However, Dream's was from embarrassment, while George's blush stemmed from his high fever. "Oh my god... you're delirious."
"I am delicious!" The smaller boy exclaimed happily, making grabby hands at Dream.
"Jesus Christ..." The blond shook his head, climbing into bed next to George. "C'mere, you idiot." George made a small happy noise, curling into Dream's chest and quickly dozing off. Dream yawned, fixing the washcloth on George's forehead with the hope that it would actually help to break the fever before falling asleep as well.
"Dream... wake up..." George groaned, shaking the younger man. Dream's eyes cracked open, gaze softening at the sight of his boyfriend.
"Hi baby, what's up?"
"Don't feel good..." The brunette whimpered, curling into a tight ball. Dream was immediately on alert, taking the washcloth off George's forehead and replacing it with his hand. George's eyes closed, leaning into Dream's touch with a shaky sigh.
"Ok... I'm going to check your temperature again, alright?" George just nodded in response, looking incredibly miserable. The blond ran to get the thermometer, sticking it in George's mouth. His anxiety rose every second the thermometer didn't beep, the anticipation killing him inside.
When the device finally gave in with a short beep, Dream took the thermometer, eyes darting over the tiny numbers. 103.8° F (39.9° C). It was getting worse, and Dream felt his heart speed up. He's getting sicker.
"George?"
"Mhm?"
"I'm going to run you a bath, alright? I'll be right back to come get you, just stay here." Dream ran to the bathroom without getting any confirmation that the sick boy had understood his words. He was focused on getting that fever down, for George's sake.
The bath was ready, water lukewarm and bubbly (Dream knew how much his boyfriend loved bubble baths), and it was time for George to get in. Dream found him still in bed, thankfully, but he looked very uncomfortable.
"Hey, Georgie... bath time!" He easily scooped the smaller boy into his arms, carrying him bridal style to the tub. George's already flushed cheeks went even redder, eyes somewhat focused on Dream. The blond took the hint, turning around to let George undress and get into the bath.
"Mmm..." The brunette sighed, leaning his head back against the wall and closing his eyes. Dream turned back around, gaze lingering on his boyfriend for maybe a few more seconds than what was necessary.
Snapped back to focus, he grabbed the washcloth from earlier, running it under cold water before placing it over George's forehead carefully. The smaller boy shivered at the sudden cold touch, and Dream sat by his side, running his fingers through George's hair comfortingly.
The brunette had fallen asleep, mumbling unintelligibly. Dream stayed awake, keeping a careful eye on George and periodically switching out the washcloth. By the time George woke up again, the flush to his nose and cheeks was mostly gone, only a faint rosy hue remaining on his pale skin.
"Huh...?" George blinked, dragging his hand through the bubbles on the surface of the water with a faint smile.
"George! How are you feeling?" Dream asked quickly, making a move to grab the thermometer again.
"Oh, better. A little cold?" He opened his mouth to let Dream take his temperature. This time, when the numbers were read, they calmed the younger man's nerves.
"99.4° F (37.4° C). Thank god," he sighed gratefully. George tilted his head, raising an eyebrow.
"Aww, were you worried about me?" He teased, grinning. Dream kept his expression serious, looking at George with a slight frown.
"Your temperature was really high, George..." The grin on the older boy's face faded. If even Dream was being serious, then maybe he should be too...
"Oh," he said shortly, changing the subject. "Um... can I get out of the bath now?" Dream nodded, leaving the bathroom. George stood up slowly, grabbing a towel to dry himself off. Without warning, Dream walked back in, holding a pile of clean clothes for the brunette to change into.
"DREAM!" The younger man just wheezed, setting the clothes on the counter and pulling George into a hug. George blushed, towel wrapped awkwardly around his hips. "What...?"
"You're just cute, that's all." Dream ruffled George's messy hair, gaining a glare from the smaller boy. He held up his hands in defense, grinning. "Alright, I'm going, I'm going, sheesh."
George stepped out of the bathroom a few minutes later, wearing one of Dream's hoodies with a pair of gray sweatpants. The Brit raised an eyebrow at his boyfriend, knowing he had picked his out on purpose. Not like it really mattered, the hoodie was so big on him it covered most of his thighs.
"You're an idiot," he mumbled, crossing his arms.
"Oh, Dream, thank you so much for taking care of me!" The blond smiled, changing his voice to make it higher pitched with a bad impersonation of George's accent.
"Shut up, I don't sound like that!" George scoffed, shaking his head. "Come cuddle me." Now it was Dream's turn to raise an eyebrow.
"Wow, Gogy, so demanding!" He laughed, both of them getting back into bed, snuggling up together. George's fever had gone down, thankfully, and he was already back to his old self. Maybe a bit more irritable, but still.
"Stop breathing in my face," he mumbled, sighing. Dream just wheezed, pressing a kiss to George's forehead.
"You know you love it." George just rolled his eyes, scoffing. Dream could see the annoyed smile, and it made his heart swell. "You love me."
"It's true," he murmured, voice low. "Thank you for taking care of me."
"Anytime, Georgie."
