Well three days have passed since I have been back in my world and met the little black demon who has followed me and sometimes sat on my shoulder while I walked. I have been given a wide berth by other travellers. Heard one mutter something about strange cat and a witcher and her demon cat. That last one made Lucy and I chuckle. But a lot seem to be a bit wry of me. Not that I blame them my eyes do look a bit evil what with them being red cat like eyes and not golden like the other witcher's. Even back when I had first became a witcher all the other witcher's had golden cat like eyes. Only me and Lord Theo had blood red cat like eyes. Lucy did ask about my eyes and when I told him about witcher's and the colour of the eyes they have all he said was cool and why do I have red one and not golden ones. I just said that the mutation I under took something went a bit wrong and unlike the other Witcher's my eyes turned red. He just said nice one of the reasons I like this demon he doesn't seem to hate me out right. He seems to like me or at the very least doesn't care what I look like or what I am. We both found out that we love to drink although I knew I loved to drink and Lucy seems to as well.
We stopped at a tavern to get a drink and as soon as the bar keep saw me he glared and said, "what do you want you mutant bitch?" This made Lucy frown at that but he kept quite and waited to see what would happen. "A paint of ale for me and my friend here" I replied not letting it get to me. He nodded poured two paints still glaring said "here once your done drinking get out"
Lucy looked at me as I picked up the two glasses. I made my way to a lone table and sat down. Lucy sat next to me looking at me before he said, "You should have punch him I would have" I chuckled before replying, "if I did that then I would be chased out and unable to get any work, no matter where I went. Sometimes it is best to just keep one's head down and make no fuss." Lucy didn't seem to agree but he did chose to keep quite about that and started to drink his paint. "That's gross I could make better booze then that bozo," came Lucy's voice. I nodded with a mouthful of ale. After swallowing it I began to have a bit of a chat. "So Lucy I was thinking maybe we could check out the notice board to see if there are any jobs for me, now these jobs would be say killing monsters or getting rid of them. Same old same old but some might just be tracking down someone or finding something. You in? I could use the company, maybe even the help. See I need to get two new swords. One silver and one steel those are the tools we witcher's use in our line of work." I told him. He listened very keenly before he replied.
"You know I could help you get just one sword that would so beat either of those swords to just said. It's called the sword of hell and it works rather better as it is unable to break and no matter who you kill with it their body vanish in truth their bodies are taken to hell so the clean up is good. Oh and also it will kill anyone who tries to unsheathe the sword unless they meet the conditions." I nodded "and what are these conditions?" I ask only for him to smile or smirk I couldn't tell. "Well princess you would have to go through the trial or life and death and pass it that's all if you don't pass it or don't go through it then you can not use the sword simple right" I nodded and noticed for the first time that I now have a drinking buddy, me and Lucy have became drinking buddies. I also chose to take this new trial and claim the sword that Lucy told me about but the name of the trial did not really sit right with me. But I pushed that aside and just shrugged before speaking again, "I also need to get a bow and some arrows or a crossbow and arrows. Plus some ingredients to make some of the witcher's potions. But before that I will take this trial you speak of. And yet I am a bit puzzled how would I do this trial to get this sword you speak of? You said so yourself your from some other world." Lucy nodded and replied, "true but I do know how to do the trial as you see I get you to the trial through a spell that I know. You see I am a demon so I have a way to chose who does the trial and who don't. I am willing to help you out seeing as we are friends, drinking buddies and all." With that I nodded and agreed and once we had drunk our fill we left the tavern and travelled to a cave that I had spotted. Then once I checked it out and sure enough it was safe for use. We set up our camp for the night as well as for the trial.
"Ready princess? I know your do great, okay so I need you to lay down and then we will begin, oh and a little warning try not to upset the queen okay?" Lucy said as I lay down on the floor, "What queen? And yeah I will try" I told him as he gave me an eye smile. Not long after I was on the ground looking at Lucy's eye smile then I felt as if my breath had been knocked out of me. I closed my eyes on impact of the feeling only when I opened them I was not in the cave. Looking round I could only see a dimly lit cavern, but I could hear voices that sounded hollow. A white mist seems to float and swirl around the floor. I take a step towards what looks like a strange wooden door. The door has a strange patten on it all swirls and some type of old writing. "Turn back now, your not worthy. What lies ahead will not save you but will condemn you" The voice chant as I keep moving towards the door. Under the door frame is a pool of light, becking me to open the door and enter. I reach out to grab the door when it blew open nearly hitting me in the face.
Light poured out cloaking me in a bear hug of sorts and when the light faded I could only see a very beautiful woman with long flowing hair. One might say she looked like an angel from the heavens. She had such piecing eyes that it felt like she was looking deep within my soul. I was frozen as she glided over towards me. Fear ran down my spine, I felt chilled to the bone so very cold. "Welcome child of the hidden I know why you have come here and what it is that you seek. But first I must test you to see if you really are truly worthy of the prize you so wish for." Before I could say anything to this woman my mind was filled with everything from my past. Both the good and the bad. Pain renewed within me from old wounds long healed and for once it felt like I was being pulled apart from the inside out. But I embraced it and waited it out maybe this was part of the trial that Lucy had said he did say life and death. Thinking back on it I had to wonder was I dead or near dead or did I have to prove myself to get this sword? Well whatever it may be I say let the games begin.
