SOOOOO sorry for not updating in a long time! But I hope this new chapter will make up for it! I actually had time to gather my thoughts on this story and be able to put it on a page. I hope you guys enjoy!
~Near the gates of the Elven castle~
Mokuba sighs in both relief and fear, "Thank GOODNESS we're here!" Trying to hide his doubts about bringing a nymph along with him. 'It was all for my dad. I know she won't turn her back so I shouldn't doubt her!' He straightens himself with this renowned confidence.
Jono laughs. "Are you excited to see your family?" She notices the subtle changes with her young elf friend. 'He obviously had some uncertainty lying in the back of his mind, but I guess he flew that thought at the last second. He's trying his hardest to be strong and brave even with me.'
Mokuba replies happily "Yeah, I really want them to know that I'm okay, Mom always worries when either me or Seto are missing for any reason." 'Not that we were ever missing for THIS long…' he added in thought while mentally scratching his head in nervousness.
"I would worry about my children too if I had any! You never know what could happen, eaten by a predator, fall down a cliff, hurt yourself so bad you can't move, ANYTHING could happen!" Jono said with a strict look on her face, feeling complete empathy for the Elven Queen…
"At least, he ran away to for a good cause." Sparkles offered, trying to appease Jono's motherly instinct.
Shadow added. "A selfless act to help his own father in fact. For a child to be willing to even go to the dangers of the outside world to help someone he loves is very brave." He knew if Sparkles needed help he would go to the ends of the earth to help her, because he truly loved her.
"Alright, I'll give you credit on the 'brave' thing but it was still stupid to go out on your own." She replied in acknowledgement. 'He was brave but that doesn't mean he's smart for doing it.' She thought as she rolled her eyes.
Sparkles agreed. "Yes, going out by yourself was very dangerous." Now HER motherly instincts are acting up.
Mokuba replied back sternly, "I know it was dangerous, but if I asked for help, I would've been locked in my room, so in the end, it was worth it! I got Jono to help me and at least she'll try to help my dad… and even if she can't, I can at least say I tried my best." His eyes cast downward, his hair covering half of his face from view. Anyone would be able to see he was going to cry.
"Hey now, don't you go and start crying on me, I can't make any promises on what I'll be able to do to help your father but know this…" Jono said as she patted him on the head. Mokuba looks up at Jono with sad but curious eyes. "I will do my upmost to heal him. Even if it should drain my energy so much that I can't even move." She smiled at him. Truth be told, that wouldn't be the farthest she would go. 'Even if I must give up my own life to save him, I will.'
Mokuba smiled back obliviously, "I hope you don't have to go THAT far. Not being able to move? That would totally suck!" he laughed. "If that does happen though, I'll get people to help you with eating and stuff okay?"
Jono laughed. "Alright, but I can pretty much guarantee that NO ONE is going to want to help ME, a NYMPH."
Mokuba countered, "Well I'M the elven prince and everyone HAS to listen to me."
"I think with the whole, 'leaving home' stunt you just pulled, I don't think you're parents are going to allow you to leave your ROOM, let alone let you have ANY say in telling people what to do. I know I wouldn't." She said as she looked at the bright blue sky portraying an ocean without a cloud in sight. As they went along she could FEEL the shift in magic. Being surrounded by creatures who radiate magic at all times, her whole life, and then going to a land where the people don't use magic unless it's absolutely necessary, the magic in the air is very thin, almost nonexistent, 'It's as if I'm suffocating…' she thought as she tried to breathe normally (Author's Note: Think of a baby that's just been born, living off their mother for everything and then coming into the world having to breathe air for the first time They CAN breathe, it's just a new sensation that they are unfamiliar with).
Mokuba gets off of Sparkles, then Jono follows and gets off Shadow. "Thank you guys for helping us get here, I can get the gate open and we'll walk from here on in." Mokuba says with confidence. "I don't have anything to give you guys as thanks…"
"That's quite alright, my boy. Just knowing we helped in making a young man like you is all the thanks we need, right honey?" Shadow asks.
Sparkles giggles, "Of course it is! Jono be careful, you never know what's going to happen once you step beyond those gates."
Jono raises her cloak over her head, "I know. Hopefully Mokuba will be able to get both his older brother and his dad to promise to not harm me because I personally don't want to have to fight anyone, especially this kids family."
Shadow and Sparkles nod and run off back to their meadows.
Mokuba lets out a deep breath, "Ready?"
Jono smiles, "As ready as I'll ever be."
He takes out the key to the gates and unlocks the thick metal doors and pushes them open. They soon begin to walk upwards to the amazing castle up ahead.
Jono has never seen anything so intricate. There are windows that surround the building and the building seems to be made of onyx marble, dark but still glistening in beauty. It gives off the air of power but it isn't threatening like it probably SHOULD feel. Surprisingly enough there aren't any guards at the door like she assumed there would be. (Guards are STILL looking for Mokuba. ^_^)
Mokuba says with complete seriousness "I'm going to go inside and try to convince my family to not cause any harm to you. Please stay out here so they can't assume what you are. OK?"
Jono looks down at him and smiles. "You do what you feel is right. I trust you and if you need help, call me and I'll be there."
~inside the castle~
"Father, you mustn't move, we don't know what you have and whether or not it's lethal." Seto tried to reason with his sickly father, but like father like son, he was stubborn to the core.
Lycus looked at his eldest son and said, "I am the Elven King; you shouldn't have to be the king just yet, not for another year. I must take my responsibility. You just need to find your queen." He then walks off to the ballroom and sits on his throne. He looks up to his people of the castle all of which bow before him in respect. Seto has run off to get his mother, 'Hopefully she'll be able to convince him to stay in bed.'
Lycus proclaims in a loud apologetic voice, "My people, I hope you can forgive my absence of the throne, though I know my son is already close to being a king, I do not wish for him to start before tradition, I may be sick, but I'm still alive."
(end of chapter 6)
This seemed like a good place to end, all things considering that once Mokuba walks through that door SOMETHING is going to happen. I love you guys who gave me reviews, and especially those who are loyal to this story, I really appreciate it. LOVE YOU GUYS!
