Hey guys, I'm back with MORE! I hope you guys enjoy the new chapter! I'm really getting back into the groove with this piece! It makes me so happy with all your lovely reviews!
Jono asks tentatively, "May I proceed, your majesty?"
He merely nods, not really trusting his voice at the moment. As he takes a deep breath, preparing himself for what was to come, he sees her hands coming toward him just like the previous day. As soon as she made contact, he felt her magic intertwine with his being. At first, it felt as if he was engulfed in warm water, soothing, and then that feeling turned into extreme pain as he felt her tug at his insides.
Jono felt the pain eminating from the king and tried very hard to soothe it for him so he didn't have to suffer as much.
The king then got submurged in recesses of his conciousness. He opened his eyes and noticed he wasn't in his throne room but floating in blackness. "Hello?" he looked all around but there was no one there. "Miss Jono? Are you here as well? Where am I?" Being a king meant he had a bunch of self control, but that didn't mean he didn't have his own fears, and being lost in a place by himself was one of them. He took a deap breath to try and calm himself down. 'She's going to pull through, I know she will, I just have to be patient.' he then thought of his family, his kingdom, and the little nymph who was also risking her life to help him.
Jono felt his conciousness slip back, so she pushed farther and farther to bring him back. Tears started to pour down her face, both from concern and the agony she was being put through.
Everyone else stared in shock and wonder and the light gold magic surrounded both the strange nymph and their king. When they saw her tears fall; however, they all began to worry about the kings well-being. Some of the guards started to make their way towards the nymph to try and pull her apart from the king, but Mokuba stopped them. "Don't even THINK of laying a hand on her!" his grey eyes portraying nothing but irritation at the sight of them. "If you so much as TOUCH a HAIR on her head, I'll make sure you pay DEARLY for it." They stopped immediately, stared at the younger prince, and then decided to listen as they didn't want to envoke anymore anger to their prince.
Magic flowed and it started to strain as the darkness refused to leave. Jono knew she had to push herself even further to ever hope to drag it out of the king. She pulled and pulled, not really realizing what she was doing to herself on the outside, but to be honest, she didn't care, all she wanted was to make the king better.
Everyone gasped in horror, Jono's left arm suddenly got a slice through it! Her blood splattered to the floor below and slowly dripped down her forearm. 'Is this what she was talking about? Was this supposed to happen to my father?' Seto thought apprehensively.
Jono kept pulling more and more, causing her body even more slashes and gashes, not really caring because she was ALMOST there, she could feel it. 'Just a bit more and I'll have it!' feeling her determination she pushed herself well past her limit, WILLING her resolve to be met. Despite the tears flowing down her face, she smiled.
Everyone, including Mokuba, REALLY wanted to stop her because of all the blood she was losing. Fearing she might hurt the king by passing out from bloodloss and stopping halfway. But when she smiled, they all paused in apprehension, deciding to wait a bit longer; if she was able to smile through all the pain she was in then she must be close to finishing.
They didn't know how right they were. Within the next minute, she finally felt her magic fully grasp the darkness, now all she needed to do was plunge herself to pull the king's conciousness back; effectively removing the darkness in the process. 'I'm coming, don't worry your highness, soon this will all be over.'
He took another deep breath, he was starting to believe he actually died, the darkness wasn't letting up, he felt the despair eating at his will slowly but surely. "I do hope my son didn't kill her, she doesn't deserve to die..." he said exasperatedly.
"And neither do you!" said a female voice.
He looked up and around and saw light slowly brighten the area around him. It started as dark as black, then deep blue, and then like the sun peaking out of a cloud, it shown brightly in comparison. The king had to close his eyes due to the sudden brightness, nearly blinding him in the process. He slowly opened his eyes, once fully opened his eyes widened in shock at what was in front of him was the nymph, but she was in a golden colored, ruffled, layered dress meant for a queen to wear on her corination/coming of age ceremony. Her hair was down and floating all around her, on her head was a tiara made of golden leaves pointing upward with sparkling gems of red, orange, and green embedded in it. 'She looks like a true queen, beautiful in every way.'
She smiled sweetly and spoke with a resounding tone. "Don't worry, I've enclosed my magic around the darkness that had it's grasp upon you. I've taken all the damage it tried to inflict on us both."She paused to let it all sink in and then she continued. "We both need to come back to the concious world, once done, I will have fully removed the darkness within you, you'll be back to normal in no time."
He stared at her baffled at how she can say that so nonchalantly, as if she was talking about the weather outside. This woman was a strange one indeed, but he guess that it was somewhat endearing. He smiled "And how do you suppose we do that?"
She smiled a smile twice as bright. "You'll have to take my hand and trust me." she whispered hopeful.
He laughed shaking his head. "If I didn't trust you, do you think I'd allow you to stay in my kingdom? And even go so far as to allow you to come and physically contact me?"
She giggled, "I suppose you're right. Now how about returning?"She held her hand out further, he grasped it and then she started floating away. Her hair and dress flowing in the wind. After a while she turned to look back at him. "Now I'm going to quite literally throw you back and return back to my own body. You might feel a bit of uneasiness at the start but I promise it won't last long."Her eyes sparkled as she spoke conveying nothing but the truth and her earnest wish for him to be alright.
"I'm ready whenever you are dear." he nodded, ableit a bit nervously, he honestly didn't know what was going to happen, but he trusted her word that he'll be okay in the end. He felt her grab his other hand, he looked up and saw her reasurring smile. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath then let it out slowly opening his eyes at the end.
She let him take his time and after he opened his eyes, she then proceeded to spin him around and around. Gaining speed after every turn, and then at just the right amount of speed she lauched him away from her. "You'll be fine, I promise!" she shouted in affirmation. He closed his eyes, waiting for the initial jolt back to reality. But it never came after what felt like an eternity he slowly opened his eyes. He knew he was back because his could vaguely see his was in his throne room by the fact he could see he was sitting in his chair, vision still blurry he tried to refocus them to see better. Blinking a few times and shaking his head got them back to normal, but then he made the mistake of looking directly in front of him.
He gasped in shock and horror. He saw Jono standing before him arms outstreched before her, hands still touching his head and chest like he expected. However, the blood dripping all over him and on the floor due to the many slashes on her nearly made him sick to his stomach. Despite the horror that stood before him, what caught his attention was that her eyes were closed and smile on her face making her overall face appear serene despite blood slowly gushing out from her forehead slit and left cheek slash.
Seto and Mokuba both scream, "FATHER!" while Queen Mikuro esclaimed, "LYCUS!"
It was at that second that Jono's arms fell at her side and her eyes began fluttering open. Her eyes no longer the honey brown color, they were now pure ruby red. Smiled at the King and merely whispered in a rasped voice, "I told you I took all the damaged from it." and then promptly fell forward. Being caught by the king himself. She felt happy that she made it through even if she was going to die regardless.
"Someone get help NOW!" he bellowed. "I refuse to let her die after all she has done, get a medic quick!" the guards all scrambling trying to get into contact with a medical specailist as soon as possible to please their king.
Mokuba ran up to his father and Jono, tears falling long before his father woke up. Seeing Jono getting slashed and cut all around, while he couldn't do anything left him in despair at what would happen next. "JONO!"
She looked at him with sad but satisfied eyes. "Hey squirt, I did it...*takes a deep breath* I healed him like I p-prom-promised." stuttering with the last word, she takes another labored breath and asks in a solemn voice "What color are my eyes Mokie?" it seemed to everyone else a stupid question but with the way she was asking, it sounded like she was completely serious as if it would determine whether she would live or not.
"They're red." he spoke quietly. "You're eyes are normally brown, why are they red? What does red eyes mean?" Panic rising in his voice. He feared the worst to happen.
She looked back up at him with a desolate expression, tears flowing down her cheeks, "It means I'm dying..."
Mokuba took a rasped breath, "...no..."
I feel like that's a good ending to this chapter, otherwise it be a ridiculously long chapter. I hope you guys enjoy! Please leave reviews, they help me write because I see so many people enjoying my story!
