~Elven castle throne room~
Semi-controlled chaos ran amok throughout the walls, the frantic servants trying help serve and calm the elven people stricken with despair for their lost children and grandchildren, their plead for help from their king rang through the halls. Jono, Seto, Mokuba, Yami, Yugi, the king and queen all sat around the dark wooden oval table in the big conference room. Even with the doors closed and with no windows, the sorrowful cries of his people could still be heard. Mournful of his peoples' grief-stricken cries, Lycus gathers all the strength he could muster to speak. "Now that we are all here, let's discuss how we're going to solve this dire issue."
Jono being brave enough to suggest a solution, stands in attention facing Yami and Yugi. "My magic has limits but with your magic and Yugi's magic we might be able to at least subdue the poison for a while until we come up with a permanent solution."
Yami disagrees heavy-heartedly. "All we'd be doing is going back and forth continuously trying to come up with solutions and holding the poison back. And it will become stronger and stronger the longer we hold it back, and the MORE magic we'll need to use until even we won't be able to handle it and completely drain our magic, killing ourselves in the process."
Yugi saddened by her husband's words. She knew that was he was telling the truth. She wanted to try and help but honestly what could one nymph, a mage, and a fairy be able to do? If this were a small village, it would be possible, but this was an ENTIRE kingdom for maker's sake! She sat in her seat trying desperately to think of an idea herself.
"Well, we can't do nothing! We have to try something." Jono understanding the young mage's words but wanting the best for the people desperately crying for help just a few doors down.
Yugi pops her head up. Looking at Yami with sparkles in her purple iris's. "What if we created plants that could eat the poison. With both Jono's inner magic and my nature magic to recreate the plants, and having your magic to amplify all the elve's magic to cast spells to adapt those plants to eat the poison safely until it finally dissipates altogether."
Yami had to stop and think about whether that would actually work. "Well, with something new like that we'd have to experiment until we got it right, but it could be a plausible solution." He smiles adoringly to his wife. She always had her moments when he finally felt like he knew everything about her, she'll throw something new out of the blue and it'd throw him into shock temporarily. His Yugi was quite the woman
The royal family satisfied with the prospect for a solution smiled at each other for the first time in a couple weeks. Lycus stood up and promptly asked, "I implore you all to work on this immediately. Anything the Elven Kingdom has to offer is at your disposal, you just have to ask." He brings them to a big room, almost like a second hall but with shelves and different doorways that lead to an outside building. "I hope this is a good enough space for everything you need.
"Oh Your Majesty, this is room is perfect!" Yami exclaims in joy. He has always wanted to be able to work in a room not even half the size of the one they're in. So the prospect of having both the space and everything being handed to him was quite thrilling. He immediately began setting up everything in his excitement mumbling about where he wanted things to be placed so on and so forth.
Jono shakes her head. Turning toward Yugi she comments, "If the situation wasn't so dismal, I'm sure Yami would've had a heart attack."
Yugi giggles at that, placing her left hand on her chest. Her gorgeous rainbow stone wedding ring glimmering brightly in the sunlit room. "He gets excited pretty easily for a man who is typically seen as serious and mature."
Jono smiles. "You know, I don't remember my previously family. And I used to get so frustrated about it, because I couldn't help but wonder why they gave me up rather why they didn't want me in the end." Her smile remained but her eyes showed her sadness.
Her bright amethyst eyes looked up at Jono, eyebrows furrowing in worry. "Oh Jono...!"
Jono cut her off quickly. "But you wanna know something I learned about it all?" Yugi stared, but nodded her head giving Jono permission to continue. "I learned that it doesn't really matter. I grew up with a wonderful family in yours Yugi. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better sister. Your parents never gave the idea of me being different from them as something wrong or out of place. You never batted an eyelash at others comments about the whole thing."
Yugi's worried expression into that of confusion. "Of course not. Why does it matter that I'm a fairy and you're a nymph? No matter the reason you became a part of my family, you are and always will be, a part of my family. I truly believe love is endless, boundless, and timeless. I can honestly say that it doesn't matter what species, age, or kingdom any person is from, love can envelop any being to another in any way it deems necessary the individuals. So for us being a fairy and a nymph, we are sisters forever. As for Yami and myself..." She looks lovingly toward him, her eyes conveying all the undying love. "We were judged, mocked, and ridiculed. Most importantly, he was asked if he was marrying me because I could provide free ingredients since I'm a fairy."
"What did he say to that?" Jono just flustered at the idea of people asking such brazen questions.
"Funnily enough, he looked at him and stared for a good 2 minutes, and then promptly punched him in the face." She laughed heartily, remembering it as if it was yesterday. "Then he looked back at me and said, 'I will NEVER ask you to make me indgredients. In fact, I will come up with a spell so that no one but me will be able to read my ingredients list for ALL of my spells!' I just laughed, I couldn't help myself."
Jono laughed as well. Imagining the whole situation. "Oh blessed maker, sounds just like him." She then pondered for a moment, and softly spoke out loud. "I'm a little jealous Yugi. I can't help but want what you have, to have someone who loves you for just who you are. Wouldn't want you to change anything, even if some things frustrate them to no end."
"You'll find someone! Someone just like Yami is to me. You're too wonderful, kind, and beautiful to go unnoticed for too long." Yugi complimented whole-heartedly. 'Although, I think someone already has noticed but he's not saying anything.' she thought. Thinking about the blue-eyed prince who was watching and listening by a doorway just a couple feet away.
