~With the Nymph King~
"Alright, everything ready?!" Screamed the Nymph Kingdom army general Valin. His steel grey eyes piercing enough, let alone his entire tall, broad shouldered stature, completely overwhelming. He exercised his disciplines to the fullest, wanting to leave as soon as possible, to please his king.
"Yessir!" Multiple soldiers saluted.
"Good! I want to leave as soon as possible, so we can all go home sooner!"
King Enlil's auburn eyes glanced out his chamber windows smiling at his soldiers who put this all together. He hoped for sooner, but it was impossible to gather this many people and resources in a such a short amount of time with absolutely no warning either. 'I'm truly proud to be their king.' He thought lovingly. He only ever truly wanted to be a good king, and for a very long time, he only felt like a selfish king. He called for a war on a baseless accusation for which there was no proof of reason to suggest such treachery. Deep down he knew that Lycus hadn't taken his daughter, but he was so stricken with grief that when his brother suggested the idea that Lycus might have had something to do with it, he took the bait. Wanting nothing more than to blame someone else for his daughter's disappearance. Oh man, his daughter, his sweet little Katsuya, eyes like his but hair like her mother. He knew she would grow up to be just as beautiful as his late wife. These thoughts causing a small tremble of sadness to burrow inside him, he shook his head. 'No! There is no time for my sadness. What's done is done and can't be changed, I must look toward the future of this kingdom as well as the other kingdom.'
Meanwhile, in his full cloak, the old mage Clive was determined to come up with a better, eviler plan. Thankfully, the good king, Enlil was making it easier for him. Clive is one of the oldest mages living and has direct council to the king's advisor, Zopyros, who we all know is King Enlil's brother. The old mage already has power beyond his reason. But he could have even MORE power once Zopyros becomes king. "Hehe, I know just the thing, but I must seek out Lord Zopyros for his approval. Although, I'm sure he won't disapprove of my plan." He clicks his staff against the hard-white marble flooring, causing an echo to ring through the room, smoke engulfed his figure and just a second later, POOF, he vanished. Magic really does have its nice quirks.
"I shall head out first!" Exclaimed King Enlil amongst his people. "And with me, I shall bring my brother and his trusted mage. I'm also bring something else, but first I must confess many things to you all." Bowing his head, he takes a deep breath and calmly speaks. "I apologize for being a selfish king…." People started shouting, shaking their heads, disapproving his statement full force. "No! I was a selfish king. I called for a war towards the Elven Kingdom on an offhand baseless, no physical evidence suggestion. Granted, with the Great Dawn Forest separating us, we haven't actually fought, but that doesn't mean no lives were lost." He bows his head once more. "For those who have lost of loved one due to the animosity between us kingdoms, I apologize dearly again." He looks up, raising his head high, a smile gracing his lips. "Now is the time to be a real, good king. So, here with me is a treaty of alliance! As well as a documented apology letter to King Lycus for my blatant grief-stricken behavior and causing such a disarray between our people. I hope you all can forgive my behavior up to now." He closed his eyes on the last sentence, waiting for the reaction of his people.
His people didn't disappoint him. "King is forgiven! Let's go forth to our future with the Elves!" shouted a random citizen. And then one by one every person started chanting "Make peace good king!"
The brightest smile graced his handsome elder face. His auburn eyes filled with tears of joy. He truly hoped King Lycus would forgive him, but either way the Nymph Kingdom is still going to offer support to help extinguish the awful poison playing he Elven Kingdom.
~At the Elven castle~
"KIIIIING LYYYYYCUSSS! Exclaimed Yami bursting through the throne room. The dark oak doors slamming into hard stone and the poor hinges squeaked from the force. Causing everyone to jump. Poor Yugi got so scared she jumped and flew to the ceiling corner holding her pounding chest from the shock.
"Yami, what in the MAKER'S NAME are you doing?! You scared us half to death, look at your poor wife!" Screamed Jono pointing at Yugi with one hand and the other on her hip. Jono really looked like a mother scolding her child right then.
"Yugi, honey, I'm sorry sweetheart. Please come down." Yami pleaded apologetically.
Yugi, still holding her chest, very gently floated down to the floor. Shifting her wings behind her back in a resting position. "You'd think I'd be used to screaming every once in a while. I've only known you for 8 years now." She chuckled uncomfortably.
Yami ran up and hugged her. "There's no need for that right now. I'm sorry for scaring everyone especially you, but I have FANTASTIC NEWS!" Turning toward the royal family, he smiles a beaming grin, so full of pride and happiness. "I may have found a way to help defeat this poison."
Everyone's eyes lit up like it was holiday. Queen Mikuro shouted first amongst everyone else. "Well let's go see what you have done!"
"Let's go!" he shouted, running back to the experiment room, everyone else quickly followed knowing there wasn't any time to waste. Bursting through the double doors of the experiment room, he skidded to his work bench. "After two whole weeks, I finally got it to work!" he beamed.
"Got what to work?" King Lycus inquired. Truly confused as to what the mage was referring to.
"Remember how Yugi suggested making plants that could eat the poison?" Jono added, hoping to jog the king's memory.
"Oh yes! Silly me. So, you made them?" Lycus smacked his forehead. 'Forgetting such things this early in my age? I really can't wait for Seto to become king.' He thought rolling his eyes.
"I'm so excited!" Mokuba exclaimed clinging to Jono's dress and lightly bouncing.
Yami then took the black tablecloth off of the work bench revealing four very small and strangle looking plants. They were dark green in color, and the bulb of the plant was oval in shape with thin little string looking things through the middle of the plant. "For those who don't know what these plants are, they are called 'Venus Fly traps.' If you can't guess by the name, they are insect eating plants that use a trap mechanism to obtain their food. Except I modified them to eat the poison instead. Right now, they are full and have to fully digest the poison they consumed before they can open their heads or bulbs to consume more."
Yugi jumped for joy and flew to hug Yami, almost knocking him over in the process. "Oh, I am so PROUD of you my love!" she cried out of happiness. "I knew you could do it!"
"This is amazing." Seto commented softly, looking at the plants. Although, they were small, he knew they would be strong. It was a start.
"And the best part about this!" Yami walks up to Jono and grabs her hand. "With you and Yugi, you can help me make an exponential amount combined. It took me all day to make four, but with the both of you," he grabbed Yugi's right hand "it wouldn't take much for you guys to make way more."
Yugi giggled, turning to Jono. "Well, looks like we have work to do!"
"That we do Yugi, let's do it SISTER STYLE!" Jono shouted. Her smile beaming with radiant cheerfulness.
A/N: Alright, if it wasn't evident, it takes roughly an entire month to cross through the Dawn Forest. Now to further understand what's going to happen, I'm going to give you King Enlil's plan right now.
One. He is heading off first, so he can meet up with King Lycus about the treaty and apology letter.
Two. The volunteers are going to comb through the Dawn Forest as quickly as possible to keep up with their king.
Three. The people are going to surround the Elven Kingdom borders.
Four. Once fully surrounded the people will wait for the signal from their king.
Five. Signal happens, and everyone forces their healing magic towards the Elven Kingdom. Causing a blanket of magic to engulf the lands.
Six. King Enlil will absorb the magic and using the gigantic amount of magic to force the poison to dissipate and die out.
Seven. This is a what if scenario step. If King Lycus doesn't sign the alliance treaty the first time, then hopefully after dispelling the poison will convince his to do so.
Okie dokie, that's King Enlil's plan. I'll go over this in the next chapter better, but this will give you guys a better idea of what King Enlil believes will happen. Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! Leave a reply below if you did!
