Walking down the street anyone looking at Tsuyu would only be able to see her eyes peering out from deep within the warm embrace of her winter coat. It was the day after the UA Entrance Exams and while she had been fine outside the previous day a cold snap had moved through the region. She silently thanked Detnerat, a Japanese company known for making quirk lifestyle support items, for the warming coat they made for people with cold-based quirks or like her were Mutation Types with cold blood - otherwise she would have only made it to the corner from her house before going into hibernation. The electrical warming coils in the coat let her withstand the cold and meet up with her friends which again she was thankful for.

Even if she had to admit it made her look like a gremlin or the Pro Hero Wash.

"Hey Tsu-chan!" Ochako Uraraka waved at her when Tsuyu had stepped inside the private gym Mr. Yagi had offered for her and her friends to use during the winter months when Dagobah Beach had become too cold for her and Setsuna. Once the weather had warmed up though they had stayed at the gym as Dagobah had become an increasingly popular beach for the locals - which meant they were more likely to get in trouble for using their quirks out in the open.

"Good Morning Ocha-chan" Tsu croaked with her normal monotone voice, they had only met yesterday but Tsu had taken an instant liking to the tall, cheery young woman. She had initially been a nervous beanpole, apologizing for intruding on Tsu's friend group but once everyone had welcomed her she was practically bouncing in the air. Taking off her coat and sitting down on the bench next to Ocha-chan Tsuyu's gaze drifted to the fighting ring that took up a good portion of the gym space. Light reflected off the blades that crashed into one another inside of the ring and made her blink slowly. She croaked, "It looks like Kamakiri-chan and Midoriya-chan are making good on their promise to fight."

"Oh yea! It's kind of...scary." Ocha-chan rubbed the back of her head, her smile faltering a tad as she nodded in the direction where Izuku and Togaru were sparring with one another.

"COME AT ME! COME ON!" Kamakiri shouted as he clashed with Izuku, both men covered from head to toe with an assortment of blades protruding from their bodies. Togaru's quirk, Razor Sharp, allowed him to form powerful blades from his body at will. Izuku's quirk immediately made him sprout similar blades but unlike Togaru he could not make more, other than the ones that formed after copying the quirk.

Their space was filled with the sound of said blades clattering as they both thrust and parried at one another. Tsu watched as Togaru swept his leg up to strike at Izuku, a single, broad blade cutting toward Izuku who blocked it with two smaller blades that protruded from his forearms. After a moment Izuku pushed back with his arms, forcing Togaru to leap back as the Mutate-quirk user went from blocking to striking with those same arms in one fluid motion. The Mantis-morph's eyes were scowling but he had a clearly excited grin across his lips as he assaulted Izuku with another series of attacks.

Tsu had been in the same testing site as Kamakiri and she had seen him cleave through a small army of villain bots with his Razor Sharp quirk. So she knew how dangerous he could be, especially when riled up for a fight - which just made her silently praise Izuku for how far he had come since she had first met him all those months ago.

"Hmm." Tsu put one finger to her chin as she thought back, "It really has been almost a year since I first met Midoriya-chan."

"Awwww! I wish I had met you guys way back then too…" Uraraka sighed, clasping her face in her hands - careful to not let her pinky fingers touch so as to not activate her quirk, "And now you'll be in Class 1-B and most likely Midoriya and everyone else will be too unless not as many Emitter Types pass the exam."

"If we passed the exam." Tsuyu corrected her, watching Izuku as he skidded around Togaru and forced the other man back to the boundary line of the ring. She watched him wince as Togaru suddenly shot up in the air and over Izuku - he had grown blades from the bottoms of his feet and used them as stilts to avoid a ring out.

"Nooo! You gotta be confident! We passed! We all passed!" Uraraka shook her head, shaking her fists in the air as if to deny the very possibility that they could fail at all.

"Maybe." Tsu croaked with a soft giggle.

It was true though, as Uraraka's quirk was an Emitter Type she was destined for Class 1-A and with Tsuyu's own quirk a Mutation Type she would go to Class 1-B - if she had passed the exam. It was UA University policy that all new Heroics Course students with Emitter Type quirks would go to 1-A (earning it the nickname of the Firepower Class) and all Mutation Type quirk students would go to Class 1-B (likewise earning it the nickname of the Creature Class). With Emitter Type quirks being the most numerous type of quirk in the general population and Mutation Type quirks being the least numerous, the difference in class numbers was always made up by Transformation Type quirk holders (being the second most/least numerous quirk type among the population). More often than not though given the 20 body class sizes students with Emitter quirks made up at least 90% of the class

The policy was at times accused as Quirkist by UA's detractors but from a learning and safety standpoint it was a sound one. Having similar functioning quirks helped both students and teachers in the Heroics Course learn how to better control and use them. The homeroom teacher assigned to each class was always well suited to not only provide advice on quirk usage but also make sure the students did not get out of hand with their own quirks. Emitter quirks tended to be long-range mostly so the Pro Hero assigned as their homeroom teacher was always someone who could easily disable an out of control student at long-range. Given how many Transformation and Mutation Types were close range their teachers specialized in close quarters takedowns for Class 1-B.

Special precaution and lessons were needed after to be taken for the young adults the university was training to use their quirks in combat and disaster situations.

UA though did not let this policy stunt inter-student relations, as both classes shared a single large dormitory building. Not only that but both classes shared at least one lecture or one practical exercise every week allowing the students to became more frequent with Year Two and Year Three being able to take electives in addition to Heroics 101.

Still, while it was very likely Tsuyu would be in Class 1-B with Izuku, Itsuka, Togaru, and Setsuna...there was the possibility that at least one or two would not be joining her. It wouldn't be so bad. Would it? We will still be in the same dorm and share at least one class every week - and lunch. That's not...terrible?

Tsuyu though remembered how difficult it had been making friends in middle school.

Frog Face!

Ewww! Do you think she eats flies too?

Just hop along, this table is for humans not frogs.

Due to her appearance from her quirk Tsuyu had never really been able to make many friends - outside of Habuko whose snake-like appearance likewise landed her in the same boat. Habuko though was going to a different university which just left the friends who had accepted her in their shared drive to make it into UA. There would be other Mutation Types who likely had similarly strange or even stranger appearances than her - but she felt like she did not want to lose any of her newer friends but if she had to admit it…

...Itsuka and Izuku in particular.

They had both accepted her despite her appearance and admittingly blunt personality - neither of which she ever tried to hide. It had been her fault, even if it was an accident, that Izuku had nearly drowned seeing her but had quickly accepted her and her quirk. When his quirk had gone out of control at Gran Torino's she had cried with worry for him - one of the few times her control over her emotions had slipped completely. It had been Itsuka who had been there and though she had just as worried they had helped each other make it through the ordeal. Afterward Itsuka had thrown herself into helping Tsuyu train and get ready for the Entrance Exam. Tsuyu being an older sister to two younger siblings with parents who worked long hours meant a lot of responsibility was on her shoulders - Itsuka looked out for her and helped her shoulder the burdens and stresses of it.

Just thinking about losing them was causing her train of thought to go off the rails with no breaks.

They both enjoyed her company and cared for her, she could see it in the way they looked at her and spoke to her. They are both special to me. Kero. Equally so. If they both asked me to be their girlfriend I wouldn't know who to pick at-

Tsuyu's thoughts came to a screeching halt in her head. Something in her chest felt like it made a frog leap, but failed and fell on its back.

"Hey Tsuyu!" Itsuka's voice called right next to where she was sitting, snapping the greenette out of her thoughts. She blinked rapidly and looked around, she had been so lost in thought she had missed Itsuka's arrival and looking at the fighting ring both Izuku and Togaru were on their backs, blades embedded into the floor. Her friend curled a brow and looked down at her, "Are you alright…?"

"Sorry, I, um, was thinking." Tsuyu croaked and smiled up at the red-haired amazon. Silently thankful her cold blood meant her blush was externally faint. "Six more days and we'll find out if we got into UA."

"Come on Moptop! Put your back into it!" Setsuna barked at Izuku with her trademark grin as the man struggled under the weight of several large boxes he was balancing. She was certain he could move faster if he did not walk like he was stepping on eggshells to the moving truck.

"I-I'm moving...w-what...what do you have in these boxes, Tokage?" Izuku huffed, tightening his grip on his load. Setsuna's eyes traveled down to his shirt where the muscles in his arms and chest were, she thought, oh-so-deliciously giving her quite the view. She almost missed his next word, "Rocks?"

"Those boxes contain my very own dinosaur fossil collection...so yea, rocks." Setsuna grinned wider in mirth as Izuku's eyes bulged for a second before they sunk back into his head with an air of defeat covering his face.

As she was chuckling to herself a much larger form appeared behind her, looming above her and casting the smaller woman into its shadow. Looking behind her, Setsuna's gaze traveled upward - the person standing behind her was about seven feet tall, and notably looked partially human and partially like a komodo dragon - they were also a woman. The Komodo-Woman's mouth opened to reveal her own grin filled with pointed teeth and a long, languid tongue. When she spoke her words were raspy, "Setsuna, dear, I know as your mother I raised you better than to laugh at other people's misfortunes."

"I know," Setsuna winked at her mom, Okia Tokage, "I got my sense of humor from dad."

"I did my best, we should be glad she only got my humor and my hair." Setsuna's father, Fumio Tokage, an older man who looked much more normal compared to his wife except for his unruly head of shaggy green hair, winked at his daughter before following Izuku into the truck with his own arms filled with boxes.

Okia did not look amused nor convinced by either of her family members' arguments.

"It's fine! Mop-I mean Midoriya, eats training for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What gets the muscles going more than lifting something really heavy?" Setsuna splayed out her hands and looked at her mom innocently.

Her mom continued to be unamused and unconvinced.

"I-its alright. Mrs. Tokage." Izuku said as he walked up to them, looking a little winded but appeared to be bouncing back fairly quickly. "W-when I heard about how your family was moving to Tokyo n-now that your daughter was going to UA I was happy to help!"

He beamed at her with his blindingly innocent smile.

Another dose of Izuku being a cinnamon roll. Setsuna thought to herself as her stern mother's gaze softened with the young man's arrival into the conversation. He really was too nice and helpful for his own good.

Which made her angry at the hurt and pain others had put him through once she had realized it.

Being the daughter of a psychologist had helped Setsuna recognize the signs fairly easily. Part of his fear of crowds and being touched certainly could be attributed to the nature of his quirk but it was his own self-deprecating comments that had first given her a clue. From there his stuttering and amazing social awkwardness had only broadened the picture - behind his blinding smile there were cracks and certainly not self-made ones. He also did not mention having any other friends. Given how well she knew from her own experiences kids could be little monsters she had guessed that most of the abuse had come from his school - which was why Setsuna thought Izuku getting into UA was not just important for his hero career but his life.

He needed a clean break from the past and Setsuna was damned determined that she would be there to help him. Heroes saved lives in more ways than one after all.

"Come on Midoriya!" Setsuna slapped a hand on his back, it made him jump a bit but she had been doing it for so long he had gotten used to it - just as planned, "I have a couple more boxes of rocks for you to move!"

"Midoriya - you have been such a great help I feel like I need to...embarrass my daughter on your behalf," Okia rasped to Moptop, grinning at her daughter which made Setsuna pause. Parental blackmail. Her only weakness. "Would you like to see some pictures of Setsuna when she was going through her gyaru phase?"

"Ah-ah! N-no of course he doesn't want to see those!"

Just three more days until acceptance letters arrived. She hoped all of her friends would make it in.

Itsuka dug her hands and feet into the sand a few moments after she had sat down, her eyes drifting over Dagobah for a few seconds before looking out over the horizon where the sun was starting to dip down. She smiled softly, "This place used to be such a mess…"

Wait. You actually want me to move ALL of this?

Yes! You will do so with your own two hands, Young Kendou.

What kind of training is that?

Itsuka giggled to herself at the memory of when All Might had first brought her to Dagobah. There had hardly been any beach to see underneath the tottering mounds of junk - at first she had thought he was crazy to expect her to move it all but then he had told her to also move it with his own quirk. Right then and there he had given her the source of his amazing power - One For All. Even as fit as she had been when they had first met, the first few days of trying to use the quirk had broken her bones and left her beaten and exhausted. It was only when she had used her naturally born quirk, Big Fist, had they discovered she could use his quirk without sending her to Recovery Girl. From there the pace at which she had worked to clean up the beach had practically quadrupled over night.

Then just as she had been finishing up the last dregs of garbage Izuku had shown up much to both of their surprise.

Then she had accidentally let him copy her quirk and for a dreadful moment she had thought he had copied One For All - that she had betrayed the trust All Might had given her to guard the secret of his quirk. Fortunately that had not been the case, he had just copied her Big Fist quirk, and had even gushed on about how great her simple, boring quirk was. She giggled again. Seeing him blush had been my first taste at how adorable he could be.

Then he told her that he was also trying to get into UA and had offered to help clean up the rest of the beach - he had not been angry with her for ruining his chance to train - instead he had just wanted to help. So they had worked together until All Might had arrived - and she had noticed the odd look that her mentor had given Midoriya. After agreeing to help one another train for UA she had turned on the #1 hero and got him to confess.

I may have...run into Young Midoriya a few days ago. When I was chasing down a particularly slippery villain!

Oh? Well, that's-

And I may have accidentally called him a villain and made him cry.

WHAT? All Might! You are THE Symbol of Peace! Saying that to a hero hopefully probably crushed his heart and soul! You need to be more careful-

Y-yes, yes. I know Young Kendou. As fortune would have it I ran into him again - saving another young man from a slime villain. I was impressed with his heroic spirit, I tracked him down and encouraged him to train his quirk and strive for UA. Which makes sense why he was here-

"After that...we've been pretty inseparable, huh?" Itsuka brushed her face as she felt a blush creep into her cheeks after realizing what she had said. She was probably just worrying too much, she doubted any of her other friends were thinking about what would happen if they did not make it into UA.

He had helped bring her together with Tsuyu, Togaru and Setsuna, and just recently Ochako, it was like he was a magnet for hero hopefuls.

Just imagining what Izuku's reaction would be if he did not get in - despair enough to break the young man - sent a shiver down her own spine and made her want to do anything and everything to reject such a fate. Itsuka shook her head to push away those thoughts but the sentiment still made her sigh and mumble, "And why is that, hmm? Are you just being everyone's Big Sis or is there something else?"

Here they were on the cusp of UA and just the anticipation of it was sending her thoughts spiraling. It had seemed so far away but now it was here and it was making her dig deeper than before.

Her feelings when it came to the greenette over the last year had felt like a constant case of whiplash, he had made her feel the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. She had been so happy training with him and seeing how far he had come, but likewise after his case of quirk exhaustion she had been left almost a wreck and had doubted herself.

"How did that old American song go? 'What is love? Baby don't hurt me no more.' Uugh." Itsuka fell flat on her back into the sand with a soft whump and stared at the darkening sky. Her thoughts began to boil, coming down to a single stream of thought.

Was Izuku attractive? Yes.

Did he think she was attractive? Yes (from the looks she caught him giving her).

Did she feel a special connection with him? Yes.

Did he feel a special connection with her? Maybe? She hoped but did not know.

Would it actually be good for HIM if she went up to him and said "Hey! Let's go out together in a relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend!"?

"No" she sighed and covered her face with her hands, pulling down until they came to rest on her chest.

All the pressure of getting into UA and then having all the expectations of being in the Heroics Course was one thing. There was also the very plain fact that Izuku was not...good with social interactions - especially she worried now that he was being thrown into a new environment. Sure she knew that she, Tsuyu and Setsuna would be there to help him swim through it but did he really need her suddenly latching onto him and making him sink just because she felt like maybe they could be together?

She remembered his look of horror and pain when his quirk had gone out of control. He looked like he was drowning. It was all too much for him all too soon. Just thinking about it was making her sick. It would be selfish of her to try and push on the expectations of a relationship so soon! What if it did not work out and he panicked and self-ostracized himself leaving him all alone again?

"Nope, not going there. Not...now anyway." Itsuka resolved, she did not like the hole in her core when she spoke but it had to be done. Izuku was her friend so, for now at least, she had to be his friend first - and nothing else.

"Tomorrow's the day. Everyone should be getting their letters…"

Izuku looked at the letter from UA like it might actually bite him.

From what he had heard about Dean Nedzu there was a very good chance it might - somehow.

"Y-you're being ridiculous." he mumbled to himself, rubbing his face with his hands as he stared at the letter that held his entire future within its no-doubt deceptively plain looking envelope.

For the fifth time since he had retreated into his room with the letter after his mother had brought in the mail Izuku got up from his bed - and then sat back down before he could take another step.

"This is how I die. I'm just going to continue to stare at this thing until my body gives out from hunger and thirst."

Why couldn't he be blunt about this like Tsuyu? Why couldn't he be smart about this like Setsuna? Why couldn't he be brave about this like Itsuka? Why couldn't he be as optimistic as Ochako?

He looked down at his phone and the test messages from earlier.

Frog: My letter arrived. I am in Class 1-B.

T-Rex: YESSSSSS!

Fist: Congratulations Tsuyu! I knew you could do it! I am going to be right there with you in Class 1-B!

T-Rex: WOOOHOO! My two favorite gal pals all in one place.

Mochi: I GOT IN TOOOJASDJADSNKJAWH! I'M IN CLASS 1-A THO ;_;

T-Rex: While expected THERE WILL BE NO TEARS IN THIS CHAT! ONLY WINNING!

Frog: What about Midoriya? Did he get it?

T-Rex: My fingers are crossed and floating in the air.

Tsuyu, Itsuka, and Ochako had all gotten into UA. No word from Togaru but given how his quirk was Izuku didn't doubt it. Wouldn't it be something if everyone but me got it?

Isn't that right, you worthless, powerless copy-

"N-no! I can't think like that." Izuku groaned, even if it was incredibly easy to think those negative thoughts. He looked at the chat again and sighed, resolve pooling in his core. He was not alone anymore. He had others who knew and wanted him to be a hero. Even if his own sake meant nothing…

His entire body trembling he got up from his bedside and stepped forward, one foot at a time until he could reach down and in shaky hands tear open the envelope and his future that lay within. He jumped back in surprise when a strange, metal square dropped out and onto his desk - he wondered what it was but got his answer when it sprang into life an image forming above his desk.

"My~ My~ My~ Izuku Midoriya you are quite the young man aren't you? Hmmm?" a sultry, femmine voice spoke her words causing Izuku to immediately burst into a blush, moments later the image solidified into a clear shape. The dark haired woman had a playful, teasing smile on her lips and a fire in her eyes - her hips cocked to the side with both hands on them, her hero suit leaving very little at all to the imagination. Izuku recognized her - the 18+ Rated Hero: Midnight!

In her hands she had her rose-thorn whip and she was squeezing and twisting it as she spoke, for some reason Izuku's eyes kept falling down to that as he struggled to look her in the face - and nowhere else.

"Quite energetic too I might add!" she cooed playfully, "You were quite the sight on the battlefield, using your truly amazing quirk to adapt to the parameters of the exam and literally go above and beyond the other other examinees! Plus Ultra indeed~"

Midnight licked her lips and on instinct Izuku swallowed hard. The image switched to show Izuku as he leapt above the other examinees and climbed onto the rooftops. Ambushing the villain bots as he went, in the corner a points meter went up with each and every bot he destroyed. Had he really done that well?

"With all that you were able to score 50 villain points! Though that's not all you scored~" Midnight winked again as her holographic projection began to wiggle with building excitement, "You also earned 35 rescue points! What are rescue points you may be asking yourself? Well, as you know being a hero isn't all about smashing and bashing! We also wanted to see if our contestants had that...mmmph...heroic spirit~"

The image continued to show Izuku as he pulled other contestants away from dangerous situations where it looked like they might be overwhelmed. It also showed him jumping and swinging across the street to pick up Uraraka and save her from being crushed. Ending with their getaway through the air and him putting her down gently so she could receive healing from Recovery Girl.

"That puts your score at 85 points total! Which means out of the 36 students who passed the exam you were ranked...drumroll please…" the image shifted again to show a list of names, and to his utter disbelief he was there at-, "Second place! Yes, you ranked just above third place which went to Ejiro Kirishima and, well, everyone trailed behind this year's first place - Itsuka Kendou."

He had to do a double take as he saw what Itsuka's score was. She had finished the exam with a total of 123 points! 90 of which were villain points alone! He always knew she was amazing but to see it ranked like this...it made him feel good to know UA was recognizing her too.

"Which of course means you will be in MY homeroom! Class 1-B!" Midnight's image reappeared, showing her smiling as she thrust her arms out into the air, "You'll be sent details for pre-orientation, a meeting with me to discuss some things and get you set up in the Heroics Course. I look forward to ironing out the details...but go out and celebrate with your family and friends! I'll see you soon and welcome to your hero academia!"

"I...I did it...I got into UA…" Izuku mumbled, his throat constricting and he was already starting to cry - tears pouring down his face. He was going to be a hero, wasn't he?

His phone pinged again, distracting him from his sobbing as he looked at the latest message.

SI wanted to change things up for UA. One of which being how they randomly assigned classes (as illogical). At UA University there is a much more hands on approach between the Professors and their students - granted its possible knowing Aizawa he just was too tired to actually provide much mentoring. Izuku's internship is going to be between Ryukyu and Gang Orca - but Bunnyzuku WILL happen at some point. word: WHAT THE HELL? I'M IN CLASS 1-A!
