Prompt: "I will prove you wrong. Just watch."
"I'll totally prove you wrong! Just watch!"
"Kara," Lena sighed. "You don't have to prove anything to me. It is what it is."
"But..." The hero looked down, upset now. "I don't want you to think that Supergirl stuff is more important to me than you are, Lena."
The raven-haired woman took Kara's hand and squeezed it gently. "But it IS more important, Kara," she replied. "You love this planet, and you do everything in your considerable power to protect and care for it. How could I possibly be more important than that?"
The hero moved even closer resting her hands on her girlfriend's hips as she gazed into her green eyes. "Lena, my family is the most important thing on this Earth to me. You, Alex, Kelly, Eliza, Esme, J'Onn, Cat... Without you, I'm nothing. Without you, I have nothing to fight for."
"Without us, you're still Kara Danvers, Editor-in-Chief of CatCo," the older woman replied with a smile. "But I get your point, Honey. I also get that it's hard to juggle everything, which is why I'm not mad at you for missing our date."
Kara snorted at that. "You'd think I'd be used to it by now. Seven years as Supergirl and I'm still struggling with some aspects of it."
"I'll always be here to support you, Kara. Just remember that, ok?" Lena pushed her lover's blonde hair back behind her ear and caressed her cheek lovingly. "I know this is still pretty new between us but... I'm not afraid to tell you I love you. And Kara, you really have nothing to prove to me."
The hero nodded and hugged Lena close, rocking them gently. "Thank you. I love you too."
