Prompt: "It's impossible to get rid of me."

Even encircled by kryptonite chains, Supergirl wouldn't give up or stand down. Even when her knees wanted to buckle and the blood vessels under her skin glowed green, Supergirl wouldn't stop. She put one foot in front of the other, fierce blue eyes laser focused on her prize.

"Cat," she whimpered as the pain became overwhelming. But still she kept moving.

Cat Grant was sitting on a chair, bound and gagged and her fearful green eyes watched as her friend dragged a body screaming with pain toward her.

"Sumfergurl," she cried out around her gag and the hero's brow creased with redoubled concentration.

A kryptonite bullet pierced Supergirl's suit and embedded itself into her shoulder, making her scream with pain. She dropped to one knee, blood vessels glowing even brighter than before but after a few moments of hard breathing, she was back on her feet, eyes darting between Cat and the heavy metal crate suspended over her head. The rope holding it was burning and across the room, the villain of the day was maniacally cackling.

"I estimate thirty more seconds before that rope breaks and your friend goes splat." He clapped his hand excitedly. "Oh the drama and suspense!"

Cat glared at him, then looked up, seeing the last few rope fronds begin to separate. Then she looked back at her friend. "Sumfergurl," she said, trying to convey every ounce of love she felt in that moment for the Girl of Steel, purely with her eyes.

"No... don't you give up!" the hero yelled, dredging up every last ounce of power she could, to cross the distance between her protesting body and Cat's slender form. Then the rope was breaking, and Cat was screaming, and Supergirl shoved herself forward, slamming into her friend's torso and knocking them both over and out of the container's way. The wooden chair frame smashed and collapsed, freeing Cat's hands and allowing her to pull the gag out of her mouth.

"Supergirl!" She frantically pulled at the kryptonite chains as her hero just lay there weakly, bleeding a river onto the floor from her shoulder wound. She finally found where the metal links were hung up and untangled it, managing to get the chain off her friend's body and throw it as far away as she could.

Supergirl groaned and mumbled something, feeling slightly better, despite the projectile lodged in her. Cat leaned down and put her ear close to her mouth. "What did you say, Honey?" she asked, taking the hero's hand between her own and squeezing it gently. Then she brought it to her lips to kiss the younger woman's fingers.

A small smile rose to Kara's face as she lifted her good hand to cup Cat's cheek. Across the room, Alex and her team were storming in, weapons raised, and the villain was taken into custody. "Don't worry," the kryptonian croaked. "It's impossible to get rid of me."

The older woman choked out a half-laugh, half-sob and kissed Kara's fingers again. "Thank God," she replied. "Because I never want to lose you."
