Just before the Rookie Hunt, we catch of glimpse of Kiriwo as another student yells at him. I wrote this in consideration of that scene. Trigger Warning : there are references to planning and desire to mass murder here. There's no actual gore but if that is still a problem for you, now you know it's here.
Watching and Waiting
Kiriwo looked down at the fragments of Gabu-ko's battery. No matter how many times he tried to fix it, he couldn't fit any of the pieces of his pretty little heart together again. Honestly, it felt like his plan as a whole; he had all the parts he needed it felt like no matter how much thought he put into it, the picture aint coming together.
Which was bad, considering that his Big Bro wanted him to be ready for the Battler Party. He had even promised that Lord Sullivan would be out of play when the time came. It sounded like the old demon had done something so incredibly illegal that just the accusation would be enough for the Border Patrol to detain him for a time.
And sure, Kiriwo had enough power saved up now to just go on a killing spree but he wanted to do something special. And besides, if he could use Gabu-ko, he could kill a lot more demons than by using his special ability alone.
But if he couldn't get the machine work, he would make do with what he had. Not that it wouldn't feel nice, having everyone look at him in despair. Everyone he'd kill, knowing that it was the loser third year bet, Kiriwo Ami; one of the weakest demons in the whole school. That he was the one who had overpowered so many demons in order to reign misery on them in their final moments. He sighed contentedly at the imagery his mind conjured up for the scene.
Still, he knew that as much as he would love it, the 'hands on' method wouldn't be nearly as good for their goals as something powered by Gabu-ko would be. He was sure the library had a bunch of cute spells that would work perfectly.
He looked down at the battery pile in and sighed in frustration.
Maybe Kiriwo just needed to step away for a little bit. Luckily, he knew just the perfect thing to lift his mood. Today, the Battlers would all begin looking for new members.
In other words…today the Rookie Hunt.
Despite knowing his odds of getting anyone to join him, he didn't want to miss the show, so he'd packed up for it over the last few days.
Even though he had no delusions about being able to participate in the initial round up, not being strong enough to overpower anyone on his own, Kiriwo was still excited to watch everything play out. A full hour where the older students chase, catch and 'convince' terrified first years to join their ranks…it's just so much fun to see. Sure, it's not as big as this year's Battler Party will be but it was still something that he was excited to watch.
So, this is my first piece for Kiriwo Ami but it certainly won't be my last. He's an interesting one to think about. I think he's a great villain.
