While rewatching Season 1, Episode 12, there is a scene where Iruma and the others visit the Diabotony Lab to consider the Diabotony Battler. There is a moment where he and Ms. Stolas are admiring beautiful flowers.

Now, while the scene in and of itself was just sweet and was overshadowed a moment later with Clara riding inside a pitcher plant, upon rewatching so shorty after both seeing certain scenes in the second season of the anime and a recent chapter of the Manga, I had a thought.

Where does Iruma get all of those flowers that he plants?

Diabotony Request

Suzie looked up as the door to the greenhouse opened to see Iruma entering. She smiled, happy to see the student. "Iruma, are you here to join the Diobotony Battler, Yis?"

After not only making his beautiful tree but also expressing interest in the flowers, she'd be lying if she said she'd be anything but thrilled to have him. Most of the children who joined did so for the more 'exciting' plants, rather than to just appreciate the beauty many can often bring to the world. And while plants could indeed be 'cool,' she felt that Iruma focused on an aspect of them that too many demons, both young and old, overlooked.

Iruma smiled sadly and replied, "I actually joined up with another Battler."

"Ah, well they'll be lucky to have you. Yis." She tried to keep the disappointment out of her voice but she wasn't sure about how well she succeeded.

"But, I was actually wondering if we're allowed to help with the plants even if we're not part of the battler. I've worked in a greenhouse before and found helping with plants can be so relaxing."

"Of course!" Suzie happily replied, before she studied at him thoughtfully. "And how do you feel about planting new seeds and seedlings around the school?"

Iruma smiled and said, "I love it. Sometimes I could just lose myself in my thoughts and do it for hours without realizing how long it had been."

Suzie smiled and said, "Such focus for someone so young. Yis!"

Iruma blushed at that. "It's not that big of a deal."

"Come with me," She said as she gestured for him to follow her to a part of the building with more restricted access, not for any danger to the students but for the fragility of the plants kept there. "This is where I keep a set of seeds and seedlings we're planning to plant in the gardens around the school. They're mostly just decorative flowers. A few of them have special abilities like being weather resistant or glowing in the dark but all of them are harmless." Usually, she would only trust this task with older students who had learned more self control and patience to handle these types of plants, since they needed a gentle touch but she didn't think Iruma would have any such problem.

"Do you need help planting them when their old enough?" Iruma asked, further revealing experience working with plants.

Suzie smiled and said, "We're always happy to have more sets of hands helping with it. Yis." She led him over to a map of the school where the various gardens were labeled and said, "each garden gets a specific set of flowers, which you can see labeled on the tabs we have next to them. You can come and plant them whenever you want, just as long as you tell me which ones you're doing and follow the directions to plant them properly," she gestured to a papers that discussed how to plant the species of flowers she was growing here, imbued with spells to protect them from both the elements and rough handling. "And let us know whenever you water them later, too."

"Really?" Iruma asked, excited.

"Yis! Yis!"

"Thank you!"

Suzie smiled as the boy started looking over the information forms for the plants, and checking the dates on their tabs, no doubt so he could plan for when to plant each. She smiled at the child who wouldn't technically be joining as a member of her battler but would probably be around just as much as any of them.
