The next menronn Riza and Kiras had Malice gather all of house Do'Urden together so that she could explain to them about how the Night Elf and Meserino Demoness got there and where they were from. Malice actually let the pair of Imperials tell her house about the other two powers that they use and how Lolth had abandoned them after Kiras decided to kill her handmaiden.

Their explanations at first made all of the listeners wonder, then they got worried and then they displeased a lot of them. Malice reassured every being when she told them that Riza and Kiras would teach them about two new powers that their former goddess either didn't share or perhaps didn't even know existed.

With Malice's assurance she convinced every being that it wasn't out of the realm of possibility considering that Kiras and Riza came out of a mirror that led to a completely different universe. The slaves were actually excited when Malice told every being that they were now under Marcisian Imperial law and they were all to be set free. This sent ripples of elation and worry throughout every being in the house.

Zaknafien was the most ecstatic about all of this and he couldn't wait until his son Drizzt came home from the academy Melee Magthere, so that he could experience all of the changes that were happening in House Do'Urden.

After releasing all three hundred plus slaves many of whom were goblins and kobolds and around seventy plus Drow they all decided to stay on as soldiers of house Do'Urden. The monsters didn't want to risk getting caught by an even more malicious House than the one they were serving and the Drow were of like mind, but they were also very curious about these new powers that the strangers from another universe could perhaps offer them. More than a few of the Drow women both of the House and those that were former slaves didn't want to believe the fact that their beloved goddess was as bad as the Meserino Demoness and Night Elf were making her out to be. But after Riza and Kiras's display of power and when they told them about the grand gods and goddesses they were more than convinced which shocked all of the nobles, except for Zaknafien who only nodded in agreement with everything that Kiras and Riza had to say.

It wasn't surprising when the Drow women seemed to want to take Elindil on as their patron goddess while the men were mostly on the side of Chaos and a few liked Eendril, but what was worrisome for Riza were those monsters and Drow who wanted to take on her lazy crathed ber'nan Zereth as their patron deity.

Riza face-palmed when about two dozen Drow males, most of the goblins and all of the kobolds asked her a bunch of questions about Zareth. They didn't even heed her warnings when she told them that he was a lazy frak who didn't care for his worshipers and she was even more shocked when they actually liked that fact.

"I will never understand beings who like my ber'nan so much," she muttered while Zaknafien and Kiras patted her on the back.

"They probably like him because he's an easy deity to worship," Zaknafien had told her. "He doesn't demand anything from his followers and he doesn't do anything for them in return." He had said all of that even though he was trying to hold back his snickering which didn't make Riza feel any better about the situation. Riza glared at Zaknafien but that only served to make him laugh even harder, she wasn't really drathed off at the man, but she was annoyed.

Zaknafien and shockingly both Malice and Vierna wanted to experience their blood awakening first. The whole House of Do'Urden actually helped to clear out a space in the back of the compound where Riza and Kiras built a Sethric'Frethin. The few wizards that house Do'Urden had were left in utter awe and marveled at the intricate rune patterns that were seven feet wide in diameter when the runes stopped at the outer perimeter they then lead up to four giant rune covered monoliths that barely fit inside what used to be a storage space. The monoliths stood eight feet tall leaving only an inch of space between their tops and the ceiling.

Zaknafien stripped naked before he entered the center of the runes that began to glow a bright purple color when he knelt down on the central infinity sign.

"I hope that you are ready for this—" Riza warned him for the final time. "—because this is really going to hurt."

Zaknafien nodded to her before Kiras and Riza began their chanting. The Drow wizards had prepared a table and chairs in the far corner of the room while the Imperial women chanted their spell of awakening they were busy writing ever word of it down, though they weren't sure if they got everything spelled right because their chants were in Marcisian which was literally a foreign language to the Drow.

Zaknafien lay comatose and smoke issued from his body after Kiras and Riza stopped chanting and the runes below him and ones on the monoliths dimmed. The balls of energy that formed atop each of the runelaiden pillars burned holes in the ceiling because it was too low to accommodate them. Now the roof had four perfectly circular holes that were still brightly smoldering.

Riza eyed them before shaking her head. "I was afraid that would happen."

Kiras only gave the new holes a passing glance before running over to Zaknafien. When she knew that it was safe she beckoned the several Drow who were on standby to come over and pick him up to take him to one of the beds they had prepared beforehand.

Even though Zaknafien was in great pain he still gave the two women a thumbs up while he was being carried to his bed. I can actually feel the flow of the verse around me now and I can also feel a strange new energy that I've never felt before glowing within me. His thoughts were actually sent out to all of the beings that were in or near the big room where the rituals of awakening were being held.

A mass of excitement rippled through all of the on lookers and now there was a longer line while more Drow added their names to the queue of the ever growing list.

Vierna and Briza were sitting at a lengthy desk that was in front of the awakening room's entrance. More and more Drow and even some Kobolds began to line up when they all felt Zakanafiens thoughts.

"This is unbelievable," Maya stood next to the table inspecting the two filled pages of names of Drow who were waiting for their turn. "I can't believe that after one minor ritual a being can gain access to two new powers that even our former deity didn't know about!"

Vierna got up from her chair and was quickly replaced by her cousin Nadia who was now writing down names in her stead.

"That insect isn't a deity," Vierna smirked at Maya. "Like Riza and Kiras have said she's a bug and a pretender."

Briza glanced at Maya and Vierna. "I still have trouble believing it," she handed another filled page to Maya who gladly took it from her and put it under her stack. "But after feeling the power of a real god there is really no comparison."

"I know," Nadia smiled wide. "I've actually asked Riza to be my new patron deity."

All of the other women and several of the Drow closest to them in the double line gave her an awkward glance. "What did she say," the third Drow in Nadia's line asked which made all of the beings turn to her in excited anticipation.

Nadia beamed. "She told me that she doesn't mind but she's not sure how to answer prayers or even if she can." Maya dropped her papers and Briza almost dropped her pen, their mouths hung agape while they looked at Nadia in awe and a bit of jealousy.

"Really," Maya picked the pages back up, tapping the stack on the desk a few times to straighten them.

"Emm," Nadia closed her eyes and gave a hearty nod. "It's actually really nice to have a deity that you can see and talk to every…" she reopened her eyes. "deronn was it?" She shook her head. "Still I like no… I love Riza she's… oh what was that word again?"

"Awesome?" One of the Drow males in the middle of the line shouted.

"Yes," Nadia put down her pen before slamming both palms down on the desk and rising to her feet. "Riza is awesome!" She shouted in reply, causing a round of laughter from all of the beings in the vicinity who had heard and watched the proceedings.

"Anyway," Briza gave the much younger Drow a disapproving glance. "You should sit your crath back down and get back to work." She turned to Vierna. "And you should hurry up and get your crath inside. They can't awaken your blood if you stand out here all deronn."

Nadia's cheeks flushed and she sat back down to start writing names down again. Maya sighed and Vierna started removing her piwafwi while she headed inside the awakening room.

Several Drow a few Kobolds and Goblins all snickered when Nadia got embarrassed which only made her cheeks even redder than they were.

She's so young and innocent, Maya thought while eying the girl who was still trying and failing to hide her embarrassment. At least she never had to go to Arach'Tinith and receive Lolth's teachings and thank Elindil she won't have to. Maya actually surprised herself when she casually thought about her new goddess while blaspheming her old one. "This is a very strange feeling," she muttered tapping her cheek with her finger.

"I know what you mean," Briza replied while continuing to write names. "If you told me that my entire world would be shattered by the appearance of two Elves from a different universe then I would have either laughed at you or killed you…" Maya, Nadia and several other Drow eyed her with worry. Briza's sigh set them at ease. "But now after feeling Chaos and Elindil's influence I'm shocked myself."

Maya was actually surprised by Briza's change of not only character but heart. After that night in the sacrificial chamber when they saw the eye of Chaos and felt not only his but his wife's power everything that they thought they knew had crumbled. Out of all of her sisters Maya thought that Briza would have been the last to renounce her faith in the Spider Queen, but her shell had been shattered in an instant and now their experience had transformed all of House Do'Urden.

Vierna stood in the center of the rune pattern on the floor, looked past her navree what the Imperials called breasts and down at her feet, she wiggled her bare toes.

"Are you sure you want to stand," Riza's statement caused Vierna to look up at her. "This ritual is extremely painful."

Vierna thought a moment wiggling her toes again. "Just how painful exactly?"

"Like your blood is boiling," Kiras said with an uplifted finger.

"Oh," Vierna quickly got to her knees.

"It would actually be better if you lie on your back," Riza suggested. "You are a woman after all and I wouldn't want your precious navree to get damaged when you start spasming."

Vierna went wide eyed, before getting on her back.

"Good," Riza smiled down at her. "Now we can proceed." She nodded to Kiras who was standing between the monoliths across from her before they both started chanting.

Vierna felt a warmth underneath her and the runes began to glow a bright blue color she watched the runes on monolith behind her light up. The warmth beneath her intensified when all of the runes that were engraved into the four pillars became fully illuminated. Four golden balls of energy formed atop each pillar while she heard Riza and Kiras continue their chanting. Vierna started to fear when the runes under her began to burn her back and legs.

No, she closed her eyes. I trust them…they are true goddesses and they did warn me that this would really hurt. She thought while tightening up her eyes and clenching her fists. When the orbs of energy were the size of a dragon's egg they sent their charges into Vierna whose body jerked up arching her back her eyes and mouth both snapped open but she wasn't able to scream. A flood of energy wrapped around her making her feel like she was being burned alive while a group of wizards had sent a storm of lightning bolts at her at the same time.

Tears flowed from her eyes while she felt that her life was going to come to an end. Vierna then felt something new inside of her. All of that energy was focusing on a single point right above her stomach, that energy was then transmitted through her entire body. The pain she was subjected to that first felt like it was going to end her life was lessening with every passing moment. Vierna then felt her senses heightened, it was like she had left her body and was looking down on everything in the great chasm where Menzoberranzan resided. She could feel Riza and Kiras she could feel her father Zaknafien and she even thought that she felt him smile. She was overwhelmed by these newfound powers then she was back. Vierna gasped and panted her entire body was sore and smoking she opened her eyes and though blurry she could see Riza and Kiras standing over her. They were looking down at her and wore worried expressions. Several other Drow ran over to her and gently picked her up they placed her on a bed that was right next to her father's. Zaknafien held out his hand to her, though weak and feeling like slith she reached out her own and grabbed his.

Painful right, Vierna felt Zak's thought.

Yes, she replied without moving her lips. Wait is this telepathy?

Yes, Zak nodded to her. A rather strange feeling isn't it?

Vierna slowly shook her head. Not really, it is very useful though. Communicating without speaking is kind of strange, but you know what father…

Zaknafien teared up again and he felt Vierna tighten her grip around his hand. What, he was glad that he was able to silently communicate because he wasn't sure if he could even manage to speak.

Vierna smiled at him. Now I can tell you that I love you without anyone noticing.

Zaknafien covered his tear stained face with his other hand while he also tightened his de'tari's hand. I've always loved you too Veirna…and welcome back!

Vierna nodded to him then closed her eyes. She slept while holding onto Zaknafien's hand. Vierna and Zaknafien mended their once strained relationship; neither of them loosened their grip the entire time that they slept while warm smiles adorned their peacefully sleeping faces.
